The ELVIS software installed fine and the ELVISmx Instrument Launcher runs fine.
However, when I try to run an instrument, we get the following error (See Attachment):
Error -200220 occurred at ALVISmx_DAQmx
Create Channel (AI-Voltage-basic).vic4
It seems that the software can't find the DAQ card which is directly hooked up to the ELVIS unit via a cable
We aren't using USB.
I noticed that the newer ELVIS units use USB only.
Is there a setup to make it recognize the card? There used run with the older ELVIS software when you clicked on Continue in the error box.
The PCI-6251 card checks out fine with MAX.

NI 5660 Driver DLL Errors when using Teststand 2010 and LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2010
This problem seems similar to the post "Resource not found error in executable on development machine." but I didn't want to repost under that thread because I only happened upon it by chance and none of my searches brought me there... so I made a more descriptive Subject.
I am working on a system that uses a PXI Chassis with a NI 5600 Downconverter and a NI 5620 high speed digitizer, among other PXI Cards.
I inherited working code written in LabVIEW 2010, running with the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2010. The code was using a custom executive and my task was to rewrite the test using TestStand 2010. I reused the majority of the old code. The old code used NI-5660 to control the 5600 and 5620. When I run my sequence using the LV Development System and TestStand, it runs without any issues. When I change the adapter over to LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2010, all of my NI5660 VIs become broken due to DLL issues. It warns that the nipxi5600u.dll was not initialized correctly. Many of the errors are associated with the NI Tuner and NI Scope. After this LabVIEW will crash randomly, and the seqeunce will not work in TestStand even when back with the LV Development Adapter. The only way to recover after this is to restart the computer - TestStand automatically reverts back to the development system, the VIs are no longer broken and the sequence works again.
I have all of my VIs associated with a project. After reading a little bit about DLLs and TestStand, I found all of the DLLs in the dependencies section of my project and added them to my TestStand workspace. I also used Dependency Walker to track down the problems with the nipxi5600u.dll, the 2 DLL files that it said were not found already existed in the same folder as the original DLL (C:\Windows\System32). I have also performed a Mass Compile to make sure everything was running in LV 2010. If I skip the steps involving the 5660, my entire sequence runs fine.
The previous code was running with the LabVIEW Run-Time Engine without any issues. Is there just a step I am missing? Has anyone seen anything like this before? I can send screenshots of errors to provide more detail if necessary.I have tried some more things and still can't get it to work. I have added the VIs mentioned in the Notes On Creating Modulation Executables KB both to the TestStand workspace and the LabVIEW project holding all of my VIs. This did not change the results.
When I try to run my sequence, The first error I get is shown in Error 1445.bmp. This happens when I try to use the NI 5660 initialize.vi. If I click ignore, the next error I see is shown in Error -20551.bmp. When I try to open the VI to look at it, I get the 2 DLL errors shown in Error loading nipxi5600u.bmp and Error loading nidaq32.bmp. When I close TestStand, I get the error LabVIEW Fatal Error.bmp.

Seems to be the Issue is Syncing emails, now I would recommend you to Remove and Add the Account and try and check if the emails are getting synced automatically.
Hope this is with Single User. If it is with Multiple Users then we need to check the permissions assigned.

I get similar errors when trying to view certificate on other server (old to new or new to old).
When I run: Get-ClientAccessServer | Test-MRSHealth - it retrieves local server info fine, but I get an access denied error trying to retrieve from old server.
I have searched and tried everything I could find to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW 8.0 without buying the new vision software package? We upgraded to LabVIEW 8.0 to use a new NI Digital I/O device, but we do not have the budget to upgrade the camera driver for 8.0? Is there any other way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW?

you use the Windows 1394 video driver for handling this.

LabVIEW 2011, and Excel 2010: saving problems
Hello to all! I am a student of Mechanical Engineeringfthat very little has been using this software. I present the problem: for a matter which is called Biomechanics, I and my colleagues, we have developed the design of a rheometer, which is controlled by LabVIEW2011. Since we are still at the experimental stage, always has been simulated using labview: the whole experience. So, labview, at present, not only controls the stepper motor through the frequency sets, but also simulates the output (in the specific, the response to the torsion of the cartilage, simulated with a low pass filter of the second order). All this was done by my colleague more experienced than me, who today passed me the finished project that in his pc works perfectly while not in mine (we have the same version of labview, but different version of office). In practice, the program is fine (there is no arrow "Run" broken) and the simulation with the creation of the sine graph (response of the cartilage) is done perfectly. My colleague then set labview in order to save the data to an excel sheet at the end of the simulation, asking the user where to put it (the excel file must already exist, labview does not create it). The excel file should contain two columns and a scatter plot (one column represents the frequency, f, of the stepper motor, the second represent the shear modulus G, which increases as the frequency increases and the graph represent the trend of G in function of f). As soon as I decide to save the data, excel opens, for an instant appear the scatter plot and data in columns but immediately after the graph disappears and remain only the columns with data (so I have to make the graph "manually") and labview gives me the following error:

Go to Solution.The LabVIEW Report Generator in LabVIEW 2010 and more recent versions does, indeed, work very well with Excel in Office 2010. I helped someone about two weeks ago with a problem saving a series of measurements to a (new) Excel Workbook. Your problem differs in two ways -- you want to save in an existing Excel file (why? Aren't you worried about overwriting data, or are you trying to add a new WorkSheet, or append to the end of an existing WorkSheet?) and making a Chart. I've not tried charts, so don't have advice right now.
Judging by your error message, it is the Chart feature that is giving you trouble. Can you see how your code runs if you eliminate the Chart functions? [You can do that by putting a "Diagram Disable" Structure around the Chart code, clicking on the top of the structure and wiring the wires through in the Enable case].
Give that a try and let us know what happens. -
Best way to move date between LabVIEW 7.1 and 2010
We have a large LabVIEW based control and data acquisition system that for reasons beyond the scope of this post is at and needs to stay at LabVIEW version 7.1 for the forseeable future... We are soon to add a camera diagnostic to this system that, again for reasons beyond the scope of this post, needs to be written in LabVIEW 2010... The 2010 piece of code will run and need to receive some information such as shot number, when to trigger, etc. from the 7.1 side of the system... Then after a shot has occurred and a camera image has been acquired, the 2010 code will do some on the fly processing of this image and within a few seconds will need to send back some results data to the 7.1 side...
The 7.1 code uses a tag engine approach to sharing data among different codes running on different machines... I think now that more modern versions of LabVIEW use a shared variable approach... But I need to communicate as I've described above between the two versions, 7.1 and 2010 (or it could be 2011 if that would offer some advantage)...
I'm new at this moving of data between versions like this so if something could offer some advice, especially if there is some tutorial information on this topic, that would be much appreciated... Thanks in advance for any help that you might be able to offer... thanks... bob...It really depends if your tag engine like communication approach is a home brown solution or something like the LabVIEW DSC engine. If homebrown and well written you should be able to reuse the client library part of it in newer LabVIEW versions without to many hassles. If it is LabVIEW DSC it may be a bit more complicated since the only means to share DSC tags in version 7.1 was as far as I can remember their proprietary TCP/IP tag interface, which was replaced in newer versions with he shared variable engine.

You will not be able to use the LabVIEW 2010 run-time engine with LabVIEW 2012 applications. Versions of run-time engines need to correspond with the version of LabVIEW that you have installed.

Exchange 2010 add new email address space and additional smtp address to all recipients

Our company is being bought and we need to change the email address for every recipient within the business group/user.
I have added the new domain to the Accepted Domains and have confirmed that if I manually change a users smtp address that mail flow works and the postmaster account receives email.
looking in the E-mail address policies section within the EMC we currently have 2 polices one for the current company policy call company.co.uk with a priority 1 and one called Default policy.
when I try to edit these I get a warning message which states that this policy was created with an earlier version of exchange I have looked on our exchange 2003 environment and have found the polices and can edit them.
Now my questions are
1. should I create the policy on the exchange 2003 environment or 2010
2. if I create a new policy on the exchange 2010 environment what will happen to the old addresses?
3. I must be able to preserve the old addresses and must make the new address space the primary address?
if anyone could help with the steps required or if there are any gotcha to avoid.

You have to create in Exchange2010

Email address policy will change the email address if applied immediately except for the users which has "Automatically update email addresses based on e-mail address policy" option turned on
You will get the list of users with "Automatically update email addresses based on e-mail address policy" option turned off by the below command.
Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Where {$_.EmailAddressPolicyEnabled -eq $False}

Yes but you can keep only one as replying address.
Please keep both address in the email address policy to preserve old email address to the users.
If you want an autoreply, then use a hub transport rule in Exchange an Outlook rule and allow auto-replies to the internet. (auto-replies to the outside network is not a good idea)

Stationglobals in a Labview custom step type inside a new thread do not get updated
Hi,
I have a Custom Step type which I use to pass parameters to TestStand from a VI and vice-versa through some step fields. I run the VI inside a sequence in a new thread and expect the VI to update the parameters when I change them through the TestStand StationGlobals.
For example, I have a waveform injection custom step. I want to continuously inject a signal while I do some measurements on it. So, I put this step type in a sequence and ran it in a new thread.
I pass the VI parameter 'Stop_Injection' through a step field as shown in image 1. And I expect the step field to get updated when the new thread is run continuously by passing the corresponding stationglobal in the Pre-expression of the custom step (image 2). But this fails to happen. The VI does not get updated.
On the other hand, if I do not bother with the step field and directly pass the stationglobal (figure 3), it works perfectly.
Any idea why this is happening?

In image 3 you are linked directly to the StationGlobal of which you are continually updating therefore seeing the changes.
In the other you are only linked to the Step.Stop_Injection and are only updating this valve from the stationglobals once in the pre-expression. You are not changing the reference.

Labview program to unistall and install new/updated software programatically
Hi,
I want to create a labview program to install and uninstall teststand deployment programatically.
Query : I have teststand deployment made and ready,wanted to deploy in 5 test PC's and for very first time it did work good. Now when I made updates in the modules, i made a new deployment with version increment. Now this time, i first uninstalled the previous deployment and reinstalled a new one. This time it took time to uninstall and install all 5 test PC's.
I wanted to automate this process through labview. I wanted to create a labview exe or installer which continusouly running on the client PC's looking for a perticular folder for new/updated deployment. If it finds, uninstall the older version if present and install a newer version of deployment.
I wanted to know what things i need to consider while making this type of labview program which uninstalls the older version and installs a newer one? I think i need to even reboot after uninstallation, before installing newer deployment. How make the program running even after reboot and continue the process?I have the MS-6968 device and i want to use driver 1.4.x or 3.0.x. I found the driver 1.4.2.10 but i cannot find any WIDCOMMSecurity code.
So, can anyone give me a link for BTWPatcher.exe???

I installed iCloud on my iPhone 4S and PC running Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. My calendar is not syncing when I put in new information. Solutions?
I would say that you would want to look into the "Exchange Mode" for GMail. That would allow your iPhone to sync calendars, contacts and email with GMail just fine. Doing the same with your outlook should also then sync those same with your PC using Outlook. I've done teh iPhone side of this, but I since I don't run Lookout for my email client, I'm not sure how that will work on the PC side.

I have a SharePoint 2010 root level site collection SC1 in web application WEBAPP1. I want to create copy of that site collection in same web application WEBAPP1. Apart from Import/Export, Restore/Backup options, will following approach work? If yes , how?
I took backup of content database of web application.
Restored database with different name
Mounted Content database to this WEBAPP1 by assigning new ID to DB
Created new site collection by using this newly mounted DB
Site collection gets created successfully but content does not appear.
Please guide if i can achieve desired functionality by using this approach.

You can use Backup-SPSite/Restore-SPSite (which is full-fidelity, unlike Export-SPWeb/Import-SPWeb), which will generate a new GUID for the restore Site Collection,
