[Labview 8.5] Centrer les curseurs dynamiquement

Bonjour,

  • What is the best way to connect PumpWorks to Labview? DDE or OPC

What is the best way to connect quizix PumpWorks to labview?
PumpWorks share data using Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE),what is the best way? To use an OPC Server betwen labveiw and pumpworks or  DDE?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi.
If the instrumet can communicate with an OPC server I think both methods are fairly equal.
There is a chance that you might have to reinstall LabVIEW without OPC server if you choose DDE, as it is known that it might conflict with the DDE server.

  • I want to test my microphone using labview vi

    Hello SIr,
I want to check my microphone using labview program, using labview vi i want to get dynamic vibrations of sound when we will give input to our head phone(In this we are having our microphone). From this while on speaking using our head phone, its possible for me to get the frequency of my sound.I m having labview 5.1 version. If you have any simple code for this problem, Please send me.
    Kindly regards
    Shridhar

    Hi mpshridhar,
Yes, LabVIEW 5.1 is too old a release, so I'm in a fix too. However in LabVIEW 8.6 (and other newer versions) there's an Express VI that will help you acquire signals from your microphone.
Here's an image of the VI and the pop-up that will help you acquire the signal.
    Regards,
    Vaibhav.

  • Remote debugging an executable with dynamically loaded subpanel VIs

    All,
A colleague of mine is attempting to perform remote debugging of an executable he has inherited. It includes subpanels that show dynamically loaded VIs. When connecting with the remote debugger, the main executable shows fine, but the dynamically loaded VIs are not showing their front panels. They appear ok on the remote PC where the executable is running, but they don't appear on his laptop from where he is running the debugger.
I don't have access to LabVIEW currently, and he cannot get this to work, so I thought I'd ask the community this generic question:
"Is it possible to remotely debug a LabVIEW executable with subpanels that show dynamically loaded subVIs?"
Technically he can see and probe the block diagram of the main executable, but the subpanels are blank where the dynamcally loaded subVI front panel should show, making it impossible to interact with the program.

  • TestStand not passing VISA info to LabVIEW

    Hi All,
I am encountering a problem passing a VISA resource name to LabVIEW (2014) from TestStand (2014) which I cannot for the life of me understand or solve.  Thus and so, I would be exceptionally grateful for any help.
I have two Thurlby Thandar LXI power supplies in a test rack, each with unique IP and socket addresses, of the form (TCPIP0::192.168.0.3::9221:OCKET).  I have a LabVIEW project which contains a number of VIs, each related to the various functions of the PSUs, which are called from TestStand as appropriate.
I'm calling the LabVIEW 'Initialise.vi' in TestStand within a "ForEach" loop to individually extract the PSU's addresses from an array, open a session, then store the SessionNumber, but the resource name data doesn't seem to make it through to the VI's front panel VISA control.  I've checked, checked and re-cheked that the correct values are being pulled from the array, I've even tried putting the LabVIEW call in a sub-sequence, just so that I can verify the data is not being corrupted in any way, but all seems to be well.  It's as if the link between TestStand and LabVIEW is somehow broken.
To clarify the issue, on the very first run, the VISA information does get through, but subsequent runs retain this value, rather than overwriting it with the next value in the array.  Setting the Run Options of the LabVIEW Action step type to Load Dynamically then Unload after step executes overcome this issue, but cause problems when trying to control the PSU later on in the test sequence.
The most maddening thing is that this used to work up until a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately I can't remember what, if any, changes I may have made.
I've reinstalled TestStand and LabVIEW, but it hasn't solved the problem.
I've made the VI re-entrant, but that doesn't make any difference (in truth it shouldn't, as although the VI is called numerous times, all calls are sequential rather than simultaneous, so re-entrancy shouldn't be an issue).
I've configured the PSUs in MAX and given them aliases and tried the addresses direct, but that makes no difference either.
I've also tried performing the same exercise of passing data to LabVIEW just using strings and that all works fine, it just seems to be an issue with VISA resource names.
I have a suspicion I've checked or un-checked a check-box somewhere in the bowels of TestStand that's causing all of this, but haven't a clue how to find it.
If anyone can shed some light on this why this issue is occurring, or could even just point me in the direction of some utility which could sniff dataflow between TestStand and LabVIEW, I would be very grateful.
    Many thanks in advance

Personally, I use Action Engines to handle my instrument resources.  You can call the AE directly in TestStand.  What I typically do is have a string input for name and then do a quick lookup for the desired VISA Resource to then control the instrument.  This keeps all of the VISA stuff (including resource references) in LabVIEW.  Have never had a problem with doing it this way.

  • OpenCL for Labview is now Open Source

    Howdy,
I wrote OpenCLV (OpenCL for Labview) about a year ago and have decided to make it an Opensource project availible on GitHub.  It contains all my C code to compile DLLs, all the Labview code, some pre-compiled x64 DLL code and a pre-built .vip project if you just want to download and install it.

While I don't have use for something like this myself, the willingness to share open source code is appreciated.
One problem I would have with this, though, is the license. I'm far from an expert on licensing, but my understanding is that the GPL license is infectious - if you use a component which uses it directly in your code, you have to make your own code GPL as well to adhere with the license and the only way around that is to separate the GPL component into a separate, dynamically linked, component which would allow the end user to replace it if they want. See their FAQ here - http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#GPLInProprietarySystem
My understanding is that this is the reason that OpenG switched from GPL to BSD some years ago - BSD is more permissive and basically just requires you to place the copyright notice somewhere where the user can see it.
The strict interpretation of GPL prohibits integrating a GPL component into a non GPL software even dynamically. That is why there is a LGPL. And that was indeed why OpenG changed from LGPL (not GPL!) to BSD several years ago. Many of the most influencing OpenG supporters felt that it was rather cumbersome to use it in non (L)GPL software. The most prominent product of this nowadays is VIPM.
The only exception to that change are the shared library components of the libraries that I wrote. I didn't feel that there was any bad influence from integrating them as LGPL into any sort of LabVIEW application, as they are fully dynamic anyways and by the nature of LGPL have no viral effect on the application that uses them.

Hi all, I have used source code to generate an exe file. And I also load dynamic vi using this exe file. However, right now it cannot be closed properly by clicking "X" on top right corner. • Dynamic calls from executable

    Hi all,
I used to have LabVIEW application, as executable, which does dynamic calls to any VI. Until now it was done and built with LV2009 and worked fine as long as the vi.lib folder was copied to same of folder than the executable (this was needed for dependencies).
I've now moved to LV2012 and my application does not work anymore. It seems that dynamically loading any VI in vi.lib which calls an LLB is not possible and leads to an error. Is this known ? Is it a bug or a new limitation in LV2012 ?
    Thanks,
    Alex

Here is how to reproduce this issue :
First, open the attached GetVIDependencies.vi in the LV2012 development environment. In the "VI Patch" field, enter the path of the attached "Test.vi" and then execute the VI.
You should get 38 found dependencies and 0 missing. Then do the same with the exe version of GetVIDependencies. You should get 1 dependency which is missing. This is normal because the runtime does not know where <vilib> is placed. If you place the exe in the LabVIEW.exe directory (where vilib stands), you will get the same result.
Then, if you have LV2009, try the same with the 2009 executable version and "Test_LV2009.vi". It will work as soon as you place the executable in the LabVIEW.exe (2009) folder, no matter where "Test_LV2009.vi" is placed.

  • Labview 64bits et reels

    Bonjour,
