Labview and Adobe Acrobat output

We currently can print (one at a time) a vi graph to Adobe pdf format,
where each instance promping for a file name. Having hundreds of data
acquistions, I would rather have a solution that prints to PDF files with
no
subsequent prompt for the user. Is there such an animal?

In response to your exact question, I don't know, if the filename is generated by you as a prompt in LabVIEW, then you are well on your way. If it is prompted for by the system, then good luck. Not having worked with this before, I can't offer much.
However...
If what you are trying to do is, as some others posting here, to print a graph periodically, then I can offer an alternative suggestion:
I once created a strip chart recorder program in LabVIEW 5.0.1. It took data at a configurable rate, and compiled it to a color graph. Periodically (also configurable, in number of data points???) it would print a b&w graph of the data collected in that set. At the end of a period, I would have a stack of neatly printed graphs, just like a strip chart record
er (sort of...)
The trick to doing this was to call a different VI with configured graphs, all neatly put up on a page, and populate the graphs with the latest data, and programmatically print the front panel. This allowed incredible flexibility with certain restrictions. As this was a front panel, you couldn't (in my version) easily configure the number of channels. All graphs were individual graphs, and were autoscaled, or scaling was manually configured. Additional information such as filename (data were also saved to disk at the same time it was printed), date, time, and other pertinent information were printed on the graph printout. It was quite inexpensive, and until daylight savings time, was quite reliable (good old windows 95 liked to shut down the system to tell you it was changing the time, and hold everything, waiting for you to say "ok"...gotta love it...)
This is an excellent method of producing strip-chart recorder type output to a printer without much fancy p
rogramming. While it does take a little bit of planning to execute properly, it really works well.
Hope that helps

This usually occurs if you use a browser that uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin; see http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • Win 7 and Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional

I have a user with win 7 and adobe acrobat 8 pro and in the digital signature on the PDF, it has a question mark and a pick of a person over it on the left hand side.  I have reimaged the machine, recreated the signature, same thing.  Logged onto his computer as me, so a different profile, and it does the same thing.  Emailed it to me on my computer and it works fine.  No pics on the signature line.  Anybody ever seen this?

  • SAP  6.00   and  Adobe Acrobat Reader 9

    Hi   gurus,
Can someone know why SAP 6.0  and Adobe Acrobat Reader 9 was not compatible ?
    Thanks a lot
    Soufiene

    Hi Soufiene,
The last homologated version by SAP was 8.2. There are already some people using v9 and working fine, but I cannot assure support on any issue on it.
You should refer to PAM (product matrix availability) site to know everything that is homologated and supported by SAP:

    I hope this helps.

When comparing the PDF we are able to see the font formatting mismatch between these two PDF. Below screenshot.

    Expecting your answer soon.

    Thank you Bill.

The difference not showing before selecting formatting.
    Selecting the formatting option.
Once selected the formatting I am getting the formatting level difference between the PDF's. One is created with MS word SAVE AS PDF utility. The other PDF created with ADOBE PDFMAKER.
The comment pop-up clearly says in terms of font, fill color there should be difference. But I am not sure how Compare documents option comparing and showing the result. What all are the factors would be consider during comparison. Please help. Until resolving the issue I can't resume my project. Thanks in advance.

  • Merging Smartform Output and Adobe Form Output in a single PDF File

    Hi All,
My Requirement is as follows -
I have multiple Smartforms and a single Adobe Form.
I want to merge the Smartform Outputs and Adobe Form output in a single PDF.
I am able to merge multiple Smartform Output in a PDF , but not able to find any way to merge smartform and adobe form output as the Smartform output is in OTF Format and Adobe form output is in PDF Format itself.
I have tried few ways , but could not find any success.
Request you all to give me some direction to this problem.
    Thanks & Regards
    Bhavika

    Kumar,
I am afraid this is not possible using SAP functionality. There are probably 3rd party tools which allow you to merge several PDFs into one, but SAP itself does not offer such a mechanism. There is an internal SAP function, though, which can merge several "parts" (=several PDFs) within an Adobe-created spool request into a single PDF, intended for downloading this PDF from SP01.
This is described in note 1717357.
    Best regards,
    Alexander

  • The printing of .pdf file from Project 2013 stops when the file name should be written. Project 2013 crashes. Does someone know what is wrong between Project 2013 and Adobe Acrobat 9?

The printing of .pdf file from Project 2013 stops when the file name should be written. Project 2013 crashes. Does someone know what is wrong between Project 2013 and Adobe Acrobat 9?

The Acrobat 9.x product family passed into "End of Support" mid-year of 2013.
Acrobat 9 support of MS Project via PDFMaker stops with Office 2007.
For Office 2013 support you must use Acrobat XI (11.0.1) or newer.
    A good to have reference:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/compatible-web-browsers-pdfmaker-applications.html
Acrobat Pro and Standard DC are what are currently available for purchase.
    Be well...

  • I am having autocad not respond when I am making a pdf using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI

I am having autocad not respond when I am making a pdf using autocad 2002 and adobe acrobat XI
We have adobe acrobat 8 on another system that seems to work fine,  what elsedo we need to do to get this trial version to work properly.
We are able to get everything set up , sized, etc,  but when the actual process starts it is stating  "autocad not responding and it  just spins and never makes the actual final pdf.
Any help on this would be appreciated

It's probably a compatibility problem with the updated PDF libraries vs. you hopelessly old ACAD that can't be resolved. In any case, I'd consider it one of those things of trying to attack the problem on the wrong end. All major CAD programs have native PDF export these days and even ACAD has had since v2006 at least...

  • Safari (and Adobe Acrobat Pro) take minutes to quit!!!

Safari 4.0.4 (and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.2.0) take several minutes to quit on Mactel with Mac OS X 10.5.8. I thought that they had frozen after selecting to quit such applications, or logout, restart or shutdown the Mac, but if I leave the Mac for several minutes, they eventually quit.
What can it be? The Console does not indicate any special activity.

Thanks for the reply. Short answer: Safari, or Acrobat Pro.
In short, if I open Safari (or Acrobat Pro, or both), and quit them after a while (a few minutes or so), no problem. They quit as expected.
But if I open any of them (or both) in the morning (I cold boot the Mac in the morning and shut it down at night every single day) and try to quit any of them (Safari or Acrobat) at night, each one of them takes several minutes to quit. In fact, if instead of quitting them I try to shut down, I get the error:
"Logout has timed out" - "The application Safari failed to quit and is not responding"
    or
"Logout has timed out" - "The application Acrobat failed to quit and is not responding"
If then I leave the Mac idle a few minutes and them try to shut down the Mac again, it shuts down (this time, immediately; in one second or so).
IN SUMMARY. Something is preventing Safari (and the same for Acrobat Pro) to shut down normally in a few seconds. Instead, they need minutes to shut down.

    Good day,
Adobe Reader is a free application we offer for viewing and printing PDF files.  Many years ago, it was known as Acrobat Reader.  You may still see some users refer to Adobe Reader as 'Acrobat Reader'.  Old habits are sometimes hard to break!
