  • URGENT LabVIEW need - NY

    Our direct client on Long Island is seeking a LabVIEW engineer to start ASAP.   No citizenship restrictions, but VISA sponsorship is not offered.   Please send resumes to [email protected]
    3+ month contract, on-site.
    Test experience should include test planning, test development, Labview automated test development, execution, analysis, and report generation.  Should have experience using typical RF test equipment and procedures, including wireless communication production testers and vector signal analyzers (e.g., CMU200, Agilent 8960, FSQ).  Debug experience should include RF matching and performance tuning.

    While a reinstall may be the ultimate solution, it may take considerably more than 20 mins.  Does this problem occur if you create a new vi and try and edit it? What O/S, how much memory and disk space do you have? I haven't touched 6.x in a number of years and don't have it installed, at the moment, on anything available.

    Did you try sending your resume/cv to the email address in the first post, as he requested? To expect him to continually check this thread is not reasonable, and to not follow his instructions does not make and prospective applicant appear capable of following directions. How much effort is there to sending the info as directed, the original post is pretty recent. And why do you have a link to another site?

  • Launch particular labview VI from VB

    I want to launch a particular Vi when I start Labview. This is done by passing an argument to the Labview executable which launches an 'Untitled.vi'. I want to launch a particular VI instead of the 'Untitled.vi'

    You can get better control over this if you use the LabVIEW automation interface. For example, create a new VB application, go to the Project/References menu item, and check "LabVIEW 6.0 Type Library". Add a button to the form, double-click on the button, and try the following code:
    Dim app As labview.Application
    Set app = New labview.Application
    Dim path As String
    path = app.ApplicationDirectory & "\examples\dll\hostname\hostname.vi"
    Dim vi As labview.VirtualInstrument
    Set vi = app.GetVIReference(path)
    vi.FPWinOpen = True
    vi.FPWinIsFrontMost = True
    vi.Run
    Check out the other properties and methods in the LabVIEW automation interface to see other interesting things that you can do. Hope this he

  • LV5 as ActiveX automation server

    Hello,
    I hope that somebody here is able to help me. I have a question about using
    LabView 5 as ActiveX automation server. This works fine for me when I build
    an C++ application based on the examples I got with LabView. But all
    examples I found make use of MFC.
    Now I have a C application that is based on pure Win32 API. My question: How
    can I implement calls to LabView-automation server using Win32 API without
    MFC?
    Thanks for your help in advance!
    Martin Schellenberger.

    Whether you are using database logging or not, you should not get an error like that when database options are loaded. From the kb's you specified it sounds like there was an issue with a COM/ActiveX server not getting registered in the past. Especially on machines in which TestStand was installed from a deployment rather than the main installer. Have you tried running the version switcher like the KB suggested? Did it succeed or give an error? If it gave an error what was the error? Could you perhaps try a fresh install of TestStand on a clean machine?

  • Is it possible to develope an application in Atmel AT91SAM9263 using Labview

    Hi friends,
     I have exp in labview automation but totally new in Embedded applications . I have one Atmel AT91SAM9263 EK (including touch screen disply) borad with m. is it possible to develop applications using labview. for this purpose which module we required. From where i can start. please help me for that.
    thanks,
    niks

    You have multiple options:
    Since, it is supported by Keil (Atmel AT91SAM9263) you can follow the LabVIEW for ARM Microcontrollers porting guide (http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6994). You may be especially interested how Phytec board has been ported.
    Also, if you want other RTOS, you can use Microprocessor SDK and read again about Phytec (http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/AB597F3FD5D9011886257448005F4A0C).
    Eiso-risky:
    Even if you posted two times, I shouldn't click the button because this is a ARM926EJ-S and not Cortex-M3.
    Would it were a Stellaris or SAM3U ..., but where is such a button?

  • How can I detect whether a TestStand Message box is active from a LabVIEW VI or application?

    I'm trying to detect when TestStand Message boxes are active on a local PC from a LabVIEW VI. Does anyone know a way to do this (ActiveX or some kind of "in memory" query maybe)?

    Hello John,
    the critical thing to do would be to get an engine reference to the Engine by means of a LabVIEW Automation Open VI (look in your activeX functions palette and the help for this item), the input will be an ActiveX reference to the TestStand Engine (browse for the class NI TestStand API, any version will do, and choose Engine from the list). Once you have this reference to the currently running TestStand, the next challenge is to some how access information about the current execution. The only way to reach that object is via getting the UIMessage object and then retrieving a Thread object from the message, and a SequenceContext from the thread... until finally you can access the property "Step". Your best reference in this case is
    going to be the TestStand Programmer Help (specifically for the API) and explore the properties and methods of each of these classes in turn.
    Feel free to ask if you get stuck.

  • Compiled a LV automation server, but VI panels popup up behing calling app?

    We have created a LabVIEW automation server (originally in version 7.1, now 8.2). From an external application, we invoke a VI using the "GetVIReference" method, and then the "Call" method on the VI itself. This works, but there are two issues we have found:
    1. When a VI pops up, it is behind the window of the calling app, and even invisible if the calling app's window covers it completely. Further, the calling app is frozen to user input, so we have to find the LabVIEW VI to use it. It works correctly.
    2. If the calling app invokes the Win32 function "SetParent" to dock to a parent window, or undock from it, the LabVIEW application terminates itself.

    Hi Paul,
    You can use WinAPI functions to bring the application to the front. Here is the link to Win API 32 bit function for LabVIEW. There is a make windows always on top.vi under the winutil.llb that can be used to ensure that you application window is always on top. There is also the revoke window.vi function that you can use to revoke the window.
