How can you say you are hiring test engineers with LabVIEW, yet the job description doesn't even mention LabVIEW.  All I see in there is CAD design.

Check out this link from Jeffrey Travis
    http://www.jeffreytravis.com/lost/labperl.html
"LabPerl is a cross-platform API for letting LabVIEW and Perl communicate. It consists of some LabVIEW VIs and 2 Perl modules (.pm) files that allow Perl functions to call LabVIEW VIs and pass data, and viceversa. You should be somewhat familiar with Perl before trying to use LabPerl."
I do not know if it will do what you want as I never tried it, but it is worth a try.

  • Why, when I try to load a specific VI that I've edited and saved numerous times, is Labview now refusing to load it?

While attempting to load, Labview 7.0 requests the location of the VI with the same name, and all attempts to point it in the right direction fail: the request simply repeats. Is the VI corrupted? If so, is there any way to salvage the file?

    Hi Philmosk,
May be you could try to open the VI by reference and see what happen. If it does work (I am not very optimistic there), use the save method or save for previous to save your VI under another name.
    Good luck

  • S parameter De embedding - Is there any VI in labview to perform de embedding

    Hi
I am trying to develop a program in labview which reads the S parameter data from the excel file and does a 2-port de-embedding of the SHORT and OPEN parameters. As in case of MATLAB we have a dedicated function for performing 2-port de-embedding I was wondering if Labview also has similar type of function or VI that performs 2-port de-embedding.
Kindly let me know if it is possible in LabVIEW.
    Thanks,
    Robin11

Check the LAVA Forum website and more specifically the following post: (This link has been removed because the technique suggested is illegal. The only legal way to do this is the use the Express VI Development Toolkit.)
Note: It may or may not help you with that particular VI.

Is there any Way to find Which case is Executing in LabVIEW VI programmatically and Display it..
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I wrote this a few years ago: http://lavag.org/files/file/199-state-machine-follower/
This JKI RCF Plugin sets the Visible Frame property of a Case Structure while the owning VI is running. Use it to follow the execution through the cases in your string-based State Machine/Sequencer when Execution Highlighting isn't fast enough (and, it's never fast enough).
The use-case I wrote this to improve is setting a Breakpoint on the Error wire coming out of the main Case Structure and probing the Case Selector terminal so I can float-probe wires during execution. The problem with this is that I had to manually select the current frame every time. This is boring, so I developed this plugin to automatically set the Visible Frame to the case most recently executed.
You might be able to adapt it to your needs.  The basic idea is that a custom probe on the wire to the Case structure's selection terminal sends a notification to a VI that displays the appropriate case.
We might be able to help you develop something easier if you'll give us more information.  Is it OK if the code to display the case is in the same VI?

  • Subpanel problem & memory leak in Labview 8.0

    Hi,
I just installed Labview 8.0 Evaluation package yesterday. I tried to
code a user interface class using dqGOOP object oriented package. It
seems that LV 8 behaves differently from LV 7.1 which is good. One can
use same subvivi in multiple subpanels. I however run into problems
with this new feature i.e. I cannot edit the subvi after it has been
placed on two subpanels. Editing is possible after LV 8 restart.
In my code I create two similar object instances from the panel class. I have a class method panel_run which puts itself on the subpanel defined by refence. I have two subpanels on the main vi, one for each of my panel_run instances. I do not stop the panel_run instances cleanly, instead I use the Labview stop button to stop the execution. Once the main vi has runned, the panel_run subvi cannot be edited any more. When one opens the panel_run
subvi, a clone of the subvi is always opened instead. One cannot modify
the clone. After a few runs, I also got a memory segmentation fault
from labview, which then crashed. I was unable to repeat the crash.
I attached the code. Use panel_test.vi to start the program. Is
there any way to get around this problem of not being able to access a
subvi after it has been placed on a subpanel?
    Regards,
    Tomi
p.s. Sorry for the wrong category. This is Labview 8.0 problem. There
was not however a category for labview 8, so I selected Labview 7.1.

Open your panel_run VI --> you get a clone
Press CTRL+M --> Will open your VI (Not the Clone)
Close the Clone and work on the VI.
