LabVIEW drivers for LeCroy Voyager M3 USB analyzer?

Has anyone written or is anyone aware of 3rd party LV drivers for the Lecroy Voyager M3 USB analyzer? The API provided by LeCroy has limited capabilities.
Thank you,
SM

Hi -
Alan from LeCroy oscilloscope tech support here...
One of my coworkers in protocol analyzer tech support asked me to post the following note...   The LeCroy Voyager has an Application Program Interface (API) for creating scripts or commands from which a LabVIEW driver can be developed. This API can be controlled remotely using the DCOM protocol. For assistance with the API one can contact the LeCroy Protocol Support Group at [email protected]

  • Labview drivers for Omega OM-DAQ-USB-2401

This DAQ is a thermocouple/voltage input USB device. Omega does not provide Labview drivers for it, but it does have .NET/API drivers for Visual Basic, C#, and Visual C++. Has anyone been able to build a driver for this device in order to get measurements from it in Labview? I've read the USB Instrument Control Tutorial, but am not sure if this would be of any help with this type of device. I simply want to use the DAQ output (voltage measurement) as a variable in Labview to control other devices with an NI 9472.

I have not used these specific devices, but I have used a lot of Omega product in the past and they tend to sell good stuff. They do have a tendency to resell a lot of stuff too. So one thing that might be worthwhile is to see if this box is really theirs or if they are reselling hardware from somebody else.
Having said that, give the .net a try. The examples in the other languages should give you the basic flow of what calls you need to make to accomplish common tasks -- like reading a value.

PS: it also might be interesting to plug the thing in to your computer and after letting it load whatever drivers it needs, see what kind of device the OS thinks it is.

  • Where can I find Labview drivers for the RSA 3308A Spectrum Analyzer

I need to use Tektronix's Spectrum Analyzer RSA 3308A as a LabView environment
instrument for my school project, I would like to know if there are available
drivers, if no drivers are available which are the implied software/software
    requirements to achieve this goal.

NI doesn't have a driver and I couldn't find one on Tek's web site. That seemed kind of strange to me so you might want to contact Tek directly and see if they have something. If that comes up blank, you have several options. LabVIEW has the Instrument I/O Assistant (on the Instrument I/O palette), that will alllow you to create a series of writes and reads to an instrument and parse results. The assistant lacks flexibility but if your needs are fairly simple, it might be all you need. Of course, you'll need to be familiar with the instrument's command syntax. A step up the assistant is to use a series of VISA Read and Write commands. These would commands similar to what you would use with the assistant - tailored specifically for your application. You gain some flexibility because you can easily vary the command parameters with LabVIEW variables. At the top of the complexity ladder is developing a full blown instrument driver yourself. NI has some great tools to make this easier than it has ever been before. The guidelines and links to the tools can be found here. Lastly, you can request that NI develop a driver here. There is no guarantee the they will develop it as they base that decision on things like how many requests they get for a particular instrument.

  • LabView drivers for Agilent 54830B scope or E4402B Spectrum Analyzer?

Where can I find LabView drivers for the Agilent 54830B scope and the E4402B spectrum analyzer, or at least a driver for another instrument in the same families that I could modify? There are none on the NI site or the Agilent site.

One thing that I have done several times is get a LabWindows CVI
driver from Agilent. You will be provided with a .fp file. LabVIEW
has a link under the Tools>>Instrumentation menu that allows you to
"Import CVI Instrument Driver." This will take the function calls
from CVI and build a set of VI's with the same name. The vi's will be
wrappers for a dll that is used by CVI and other text based languages.

  • Are there LabVIEW drivers for the MCC USB-501 temperature logger

I am looking to purchase the MCC USB-501  and use it to acquire the ambient temperature on an event driven basis. The data logging portion is something I am interested in, I just want to have my application acquire the tempture when a certain event occurs. Does anyone have any LabVIEW drivers for this device?

I don't know what you mean by using a logger that collects data on an "event driven basis".
It is nifty little device, but it basically does one thing.  It logs data.  You load the software, configure it for when to start an how often to log data, unplug it, and put it where you want to log the temperature.  When you're done, you get it plug it back in and download the data that was logged.
There is no way to configure it to react to events.  It's possible that a LabVIEW driver exists for this, but all it would do is provide an alternate way of downloading the data instead of using the software that comes with it.  It is not an immediate or interactive piece of hardware like a normal data acquisition card would be.

  • Where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.

where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.
if there is no driver maybe you can tell me the closest instrument that comes to this one from the list at,
    http://search.ni.com/query.html?lk=1&col=alldocs&nh=500&rf=3&ql=&pw=595&qp=%2BContentType%3AInstrumentDriver+%2BIDNetManufacturer%3A%22Hewlett-Packard%22&qt=peak+power+analyzer&layout=IDNet
so i could modify and use the driver

    Hello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.
    Hope this helps.

  • Labview driver for HP 8560 EC Spectrum Analyzer

I'd appreciate it very much if somebody help to find
Labview driver for HP 8560 EC Spectrum Analyzer using GPIB.

Unfortunately I was unable to find a driver for this instrument either. This leaves you with one of a couple options. First, I would like you to submit a request for this driver at:
    http://zone.ni.com/idnet/other.htm
We develop drivers based on demand and popularity so the more requests we have for it, the greater the possibility that we will develop one.
If you would like to try developing your own instrument driver (or modify the existing one), we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :

  • Looking for LabVIEW drivers for Aritsu MS462XX VNA?

I'm looking for LabVIEW drivers for the Anritsu model MS4623D Vector Network Analyzer?  Have gone to Aritsu's site and downloaded their tools but no LabVIEW source found.   The other thing is whether anyone's developed LabVIEW interfaces to theirTools (Navigator or Power Tools or SCE)???

    Hi,
Unfortunately, we do not have an instrument specific driver for this Anritsu model MS4623D. Here is a link to the drivers we do have for Anritsu. We may be able to get communication to your device threw another means. How does your device communicate? For example is it GPIB or Serial. We may be able to use an NI driver and a programming manual for your device and communicate with it in LabVIEW threw this.

  • Labview drivers for Zeiss A1 Microscope motorized stage

    Hi,
Anyone tried to control the motorized stage of Zeiss Axioobserver A1 using Labview before? We have one in our lab. I am trying to get it work recently. I found NI has labview drivers for Zeiss Z1 and M1 model. The Z1 is the fully motorized version of A1 we have. So I think they should have the same motorized stage. But the Labview stage control drivers for the stage on Zeiss Z1 does not work for our stage. Has anyone done this before? Thank you!

    Hi Cole,
The Labview version I have is 2010. The VISA version I had before is 4.1 so I updated it to 5.1.2. But I still met the same problem. The microscope is connected to the computer via a USB/CAN converter. I put the screen shot of this USB in attachment. When I try to run it from the VISA interactive control, it shows the error:Could not perform operation because of I/O error. (in the attachment)
I can detect this USB from the drvier wizard (see attacment3 ). But when I click next and install the inf files, it shows an error window (see attachment 4). This problem does not happen before I updated the VISA from 4.1 to 5.1.2. I have the inf file generated from the VISA 4.1 version (see attachment 5 and 6). But I can not generate the file from the 5.1.2 version. Will that be a big problem?
Do you have any ideas about this?
    Thank you very much!
    Best
    Wei

  • Does latest version of bootcamp installed on late 2013 rMBP put thunderbolt drivers for lacie external thunderbolt/USB 3.0 drive?

does latest version of bootcamp installed on late 2013 rMBP put thunderbolt drivers for lacie external thunderbolt/USB 3.0 drive?
I am wiping my current windows bootcamp partition and reinstalling windows using disk utility /bootcamp wizard to clean up and reinstall.
just curious if the Thunderbolt drivers get installed from bootcamp/windows sofytware update as I can't remember iif i had to do it manually before. I do see it shows up on windows side in device manager and if it is pluggged in during boot screen (to windows 7 pro 64 bit) shows ASMedia drivers being loaded for it.
    Thanks

thank you so much I was pretty sure it did but wanted to be 100% sure as purpose of clean install was to clean up some mishaps I did with office 2007 (custom install), etc.
    Many Thanks

  • LabVIEW Drivers for Instruments on DIN-Messbus

I'm trying to interface to a group of instruments supplied by Rabe Messtechnik in Germany. They are networked through the DIN-Messbus protocol. Are there any labVIEW drivers for the following instuments or the protocol itself?:
    PPM-60, PIT-1500, PDM-02, PWS-02, CIO-26, PNC-02, PSW-02.

Unfortunately I was unable to find a driver for this instrument. Instrument drivers can be found on our website

Does anyone out there have LabVIEW drivers for either a Z-Mike 1102 (Beta Lasermike) or a Compumotor 6104 (Parker)?

CompuMotor creates a Motion Toolbox for LabVIEW, but it is not supported by National Instruments.
You can find some support files and downloads for the 6104 from http://www.compumotor.com/support_samples.htm

  • LabVIEW drivers for Agilent Noise Source 346B and Signal Generator E8257C-520

Could anyone please tell me where to find LabVIEW drivers for Agilent Noise Source 346B and Agilent Signal Generator E8257C-520. I did not find them on NI's web site. Thank you!

To my knowledge, the Agilent 346B Noise Source is not a programmatically controllable instrument and therefore we can't create an instrument driver. I suppose it is possible to be controlled through an instrument (like the PSG) but I don't see any documentation on this.
As for the E8257C, we are insterested in providing a LabVIEW driver for this instrument series. Let me know if you are interested in assisting our development effort by loaning us the instrument.

  • Labview drivers for Prisma QMS

    Hi,
I'm looking for labview drivers for the Prisma Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer
from Pfeiffer Vacuum. If possible also a simple rest gas analysis (RGA) VI.
    Can anyone help?
    Hans Rosink

There is no driver available as the qmg220 uses OPC communication you can use labviews build in OPC functions.
But the problem is that the "normal" labview OPC functions using datasoket are a little bit limited and when you need to adress many OPC items it may crash.
Therefore NI is producing the LABVIEW DSC module which is avialable for extra money and with the main problem that you are not able to build stand alone applications without any extra licencing costs. Which makes problems if you want to sell your software or add it to the instrument you sell.
On the other side the DSC module is a little bit to powerfule for the communication with the QMG220.
Because of these arguments we decideed to use a OPC developement toolkit from Softing .
We started with the .NET developement but there4 was a reasonable memeory leak in Labview when using .NET event callbacks.
This has been solved with Labview 2009f2 and up versions.
Up to now we have made our communication with the Softing ActiveX control within labview.
Now we are on the  point to switch bak to .NET.
When try the OPC connectivity from any third party opc API vendor and you are using a remote OPC from labview please tonst forget to add the line.
    ole.AuthnLevel = 1 to your labview.ini file.
Hope this gives you a first overview.
We are not planning to build a easy to use driver for the QMG220 but we build a lot of vi's to control some functions and collect the data.
    Best regards
    Gernot
