Labview error -1907 (sound and vibration)

I am trying to measure two analog inputs(NI-PXI-4461) using daq assist on Labiew 7.1. I want to run the same code on both inputs and comparing them together on a graph. I am measuring 2 accelerometers and the most important parameters are measuring the g rms and phase difference. I keep getting an error code -1907 "The sampling frequency of the input waveform should be greater than 0 (dt greater than 0)." I have set the sampling freq to 2k. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Any help will greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
SparkEE

Hi SparkEE,
Playing around with your code with a simulated device, I noticed that the output from the DAQ Assistant gets lost when you use the 'Convert from dynamic data' block.  I checked this by placing waveform graphs before and after the block.  If you look at this block, there is a 'channel' input.  I wired this to the iteration terminal of the for loop (so now it specifies channel 0 then 1) and this seems to have resolved the error.  Can you give this a shot?

  • LabView, Sound and Vibration Suite

Hi, I currently have NI sound and vibration suite and using this to collect and ananlyze vibration data from the NI modules like 9223. For other signals and data i am using DASYLab software to grab from NI modules. I am thinking to write program using just one software for everything, so I am thinking to purchase LabView.
I believe LabView has functionalities to let us analyze vibration data (like order spetrum, calculate phase angle, polar plot, etc). My question is if I purchase LabView, my NI Sound and Vibration become kind of not very much needed, i.e. I am kind of waste it? or I can still get quite a bit benefit from having it when I write the LabView program? Any comments?
Thank you very much for your help.
    regards,
    Yutao

    Hello Yutao1,
You don't NEED LabVIEW and Sound and Vibration however if you want to get the most out of the Sound and Vibration Measurement suite then LabVIEW is the way to go.
If you want to export your current Signal Express project to LabVIEW you can do so by following the directions on page 6-4. That manual if for SignalExpress 2013, refer to your version of the manual for version specific examples.

  • The problem of sound and vibration assitant wiht labview 8.6

when importing lavview vis into the sound and vibration assistant,  i got the error as follows:
LabVIEW:  The software installed on this computer does not support the file format you requested. The Storage VIs access files through plug-in libraries LabVIEW and DIAdem install. Visit ni.com to download the library you need.
    how can i solve it?

Can you please describe the procedure you are following to reproduce this error?
File>>Import can be used to import snapshots from other projects or logs from other projects or (*.tdms) files.
The 'Run LabVIEW 8.6 VI' Step can be used to run LabVIEW VIs from the Sound and Vibration Assistant. Consult the help as there are a number of steps that must be followed to use this feature.

  • Sound and vibration Toolkit 7.1 on Labview 8.0

    Hello!
I kind of expect the answer is to cash out for a toolbox upgrade, but nevertheless I will ask the very logical question:
When I have an old Sound and Vibration Toolbox, how can I use it on a newer LabView Installation?
I could install, but when opening some of the example VI(SVXMPL_Averaged Frequency Response (DAQmx).vi), they do not work. The sub-VI's (e.g. svx_ClearAO_ClearAI (DAQmx).vi) have broken connections and even a mass compile didn't help. After the mass compile I have a long log of errors. So has anyone been successful in doing this without buying the newer version of the toolbox?

    Hi
Let me double check the version of Sound and Vibration toolkit you installed
as the latest Sound and Vibration toolkit is version 6.0.
This information is in Measurement & Automation Explorer(MAX)
if you go to MySystem >> Software >> LabVIEW >> Sound and Vibration Analysis VIs.
As well as this, please let us know the version of your DAQmx driver.
It sounds many DAQmx VIs are broken and your DAQmx might not be a compatible version of the toolkit.

    Ayumi

  • Sound and Vibration Spectral map not working in LabVIEW 2011

I recently installed the latest development suite with LabVIEW 2011 and sound and vibration toolkit.
Previously I have successfully used the express function "spectral map" without a speed profile for plot type "frequency-time". With the installation of LV2011 I get an error saying "OA Speed Profile attribute not found" when using the function.
The setup is pretty straight forward with express functions "Simulate Signals", "Spectral Map" and "Color Map" in series.
Is there a bug fix or workaround for this problem?

    Spectral Map VI.png ‏36 KB

No, I haven't been able to make the Sound and Vibration Spectral Map express node work in LabVIEW 2011.
A workaround is to not use the express function for a spectral map. You can find the spectral map node under "Sound and Vibration"-"Order Analysis"-"Spectral Map".
I guess the speed profile should be the same for both the express and ordinary function. If so you need to input a cluster of 2 1D arrays, not a waveform. Array1 contains the time in seconds and Array2 the associated speed.

  • How can i use modal analysis in labview and Sound and Vibration toolset in my structural studies.

I am working on structural analysis of buildings during earthqauke.I ahve NI 4472, labView, sound and vibration toolset. Now i also want to carry out Modal Analysis. Where can i find thisin NI software.

There are third party software packages that support modal analysis. These include IDEAS from MTS, Smart Office from m+p, and ME Scope. You can use LabVIEW to save a file or export the data directly via Active-X. If you have some specific functions that you would like to see implemented in LabVIEW, drop a note to one of our developers, Hui Shao or myselfat : [email protected] on what you would like to see.

  • How to implement a psophometric filter in Labview software without uising Sound and vibration toolkit?

Someone know the method to implement a psophometric or weighted filter in Labview software Without using Sound and Vibration Toolkit?
    Thanks

The simplest way to implement a psophometric filter is to use the Sound and Vibration toolkit.
Anyway if you don't want to purchase it, you can have a look at this forum discussion and this one.

  • Sound and Vibration toolkit 3.1

    Hi
I acquired 2-channel Acceleration data using NI PCI/PXI 4472 along with Labview DAQ Assistant. I received tdms files and converted them in excel files.
Now I need to carry out spectral analysis of data. I am using Labview 8.6 and am also provided with Sound and vibration toolkit 3.1.
I want final output in the form of a waterfall diagram that I can include in my thesis. I tried using excel data in Matlab but no luck.
I know basic use of Labview but completely new to SVT 3.1.
Can anyone please help me in explaining the basics of using waterfall display Palette in SVT 3.1 along with excel data?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Jared,
I tried searching for examples and found SVXMPL_Waterfall Display (Simulated). I guess that is the one you are referring to.
I tried to run that one but it ended with Error 1445.
I went through another thread on error 1445 (http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/SVT-3-1-LabView-8-Error-1445/m-p/310575/highlight/true#M161064) and the referred knowledge base (http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361G-01/glang/open_vi_reference/) but could not get how to correct the error. I am attaching the screent shot of the VI.
It would really be of great help if I can get an idea on how to solve error 1445 for this VI.

  • Average multiple signals together in sound and vibration assistant

    Hello,
I would like to average octave analysis data from multiple microphone channels together to obtain a single set of octave analysis data to view within Sound and Vibration Assistant (a surface average from the microphones).  I have created an octave averaging vi in LabVIEW to run in SVA, but I get the error that there are no signals in my SVA project to input into my vi.  I have based the input of my vi on code generated from SVA which outputed multichannel octave analysis data, so I don't quite understand why the output from an octave analysis in SVA doesn't match up to the input of my vi.
I also would like to do this for multichannel power spectrum data, and I have tried creating my own vi for this as well with no success.
I am using LabVIEW 2011 32-bit along with Sound and Vibration Assistant 2011.
Any assistance with finding a solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You,

    Octave Average.vi ‏13 KB
    Power Spectra Average.vi ‏13 KB

    Hello Jake,
Thank you for responding to my post.  After recording the raw sound pressure data from my microphones, I placed an Octave Analysis step and a Power Spectrum analysis step in the playback section of SVA, and the outputs of these steps should have served as inputs to the VIs I created (I assume you only looked at the power spectrum averaging VI, as the octave averaging VI accepts a 1D array of clusters of center frequencies and band powers).  I did find that my averaging VIs did not have the correct size of empty array going into the second For loop, so I have corrected this in the attached VI (for averaging the FFT).
Also, I was able to get my corrected VI for averaging the FFT to work after getting past a little quirk in SVA.  After browsing to my VI in setting up the "Run LabVIEW VI" step, I had to click the "Refresh VI" button before it would let me select a power spectrum as its input.
I also think I figured out why the octave averaging VI doesn't work.  I think it has something to do with the fact that the output of an Octave Analysis step in SVA can not be used as an input to any other steps within SVA, which makes sense most of the time since once you have performed an octave analysis, there is really no other processing of this data that would ever need done...except for my case of averaging the 10 channels together to obtain the surface average SPL (kind of important when testing according to ISO3744).  If this is the case, I would consider this a bug in SVA, as any output from any step in SVA that can be displayed should be able to be used as an input to a "Run LabVIEW VI" step.
I agree with you that in the end, it would be easier to do everything in just LabVIEW if I were just collecting data for post-processing at a later date, but when investigating noise issues and collecting mounds of data in the process, SignalExpress makes it a little easier to sift through that data as it is collected/logged while still in our sound lab, which may give us some ideas of different ways to test at that moment and possibly find the cause of our noise issues.
Thanks again for responding to my post,
    Eric Morgan

  • Frequency response - sound and vibration

    Hi,
I need to find the frequency response of the DUT. I am using the NI example from sound and vibration toolkit to do
so (LabVIEW 8.5\examples\Sound and Vibration\Getting Started\SVXMPL_Getting Started with Swept Sine (DAQmx).vi) now my problem is
to tabulate the phase difference between the stimulus and response when i do it i get constant values. Even though i dont give any response
signal to the channel i get the wave same as stimulus, is it suppose to be like that !!!!!!!!!! I will attach my vi so that it gives the idea where
i am measuring the phase difference pls check it and help me with this.....thank you in advance.

DAQ Freq resp (req)_trial.vi ‏121 KB

What is the DAQ card you are using for executing this Frequency Response?
This DAQ error is related to the output frequency of your signal higher than the possible output rate of the card. Basically, you are trying to update at a rate higher than the capability of the card.
For doing Frequency response, generally you need to have a NI DSA card (446x/447x/449x) with one Analog output and two analog inputs (minimum). Generate the swept sine signal from the Analog output channel, give this signal as input to your DUT and also to one of the Analog input channel. This input to your Analog input channel will act as your Reference signal. Then the response signal from your DUT, connect it to another Analog input channel. You would get a very good response results.
The reason why you need to have a DSA board is that, for doing Frequency response, we need to acquire both high frequency and low frequency components without much loss. This is possible only if your DAQ board has a higher dB value (in the range of >110dB) which is present only in DSA boards.
I have completed a Frequency Response Analysis just a week back with the same example programs. So there wont be any problem with that vi.

  • How to install sound and vibration toolkit 8.5

Hello all, I have just started using labview and would like to run the "SVXMPL_Third Octave Analysis for Multiprocesor" example as an example for multithread programming, but I run into the issue that the "Sound and Vibration" toolkit is required before running the example.  I have installed the labview 8.5. I have gone through the posed link and gone through  the list of products installed in my machine (ControlPanel>Add and Remove Programs> National Instruments Software), but I couldn't find the "sound and vibration toolkit". I have tried to run the installation setup in order to add the toolkit. it looks like I have already installed all the available software. I don't know how I should install the toolkit.  I appreciate on any comments on how to install the toolkit.   I appreciate if you can help me on how to install "sound and vibration toolkit" in my machine.

    Never mind.  I got it.
