    Hi Brad,
So glad to get your post here!
I’m looking forward to download the new installer.
I wonder whether the new driver will support the 10/100 Ethernet Physical Layer Interface, since the last drivers aren’t support this feature!?
Also, will be any new examples included with the new driver? For instance: an example for the StartaFlash Memory; I have done an example for this but I couldn’t get it work! I don’t know why! You may check my post and the example in the following link!
    http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Spartan-3E-StrataFlash-Memory-wrong-reading/m-p/1030898
By the way, is there any plane to develop a driver for the Spartan-3E (1600Kgate) kit? Both kits (500KGate and 1600KGate) have the sample on-board peripherals, the only difference is in the number of Gates (FPGA chip). I think all that is needed is to add the component ID (29597843---->3E1600) and revise the xc3s1600e.bsd and 3sXXXe.nph.
Thanks in advance & kindest regards,

    Hi,
All the Instrument Drivers NI has can be found at the Instrument Driver network:
    www.ni.com/idnet.
I searched for the instrument you are using and I couldn't find anything on it.
In this case, you can contact the device manufacturer to see if they have a library. If not, you'll need the command set of the instrument. With the command set you can then use the VISA VIs to sent these commands and receive any data from the instrument.

The Instrument Driver Network has all the drivers for instruments. There is no driver specific to that model, but there is one for the 6310B. Perhaps that may work for you. You may need to modify it. If not, you will need to write one yourself. You can get a lot of material for this here: http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm

  • Has anybody got Labview GPIB driver for a Time Electronics 5021 Calibrator

Time electronics ltd multifunction claibrator model no 5021 or model no 9821

    Hi,
National Instruments' Instrument driver library is at:
    www.ni.com/idnet.
I did a search and couldn't find an instrument driver for this instrument.
You can contact the instrument manufacturer to see if they have a LabVIEW instrument driver.
Other options are contacting an alliance member to develop the instrument driver or you can do the development yourself. Here's a tutorial on writing instrument drivers in LabVIEW:

    Hope this helps.

  • Looking for a generic Labview GBIB driver for a 10X10 switch matrix.

This is for a Dowkey 2101 10X10 microwave switch matrix.

Unfortunately I was unable to find a driver for this instrument in the National Instruments Instrument Driver Network (http://zone.ni.com/idnet). This leaves you with one of a couple options. First, you can submit a request for this driver at:
    http://zone.ni.com/idnet/other.htm
We develop drivers based on demand and popularity so the more requests we have for it, the greater the possibility that we will develop one.
If you would like to try developing your own instrument driver (or modify the existing one), we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :
    http://zone.ni.com/idnet/development.htm).
Also, National Instrument sponsors third party vendors that specialize in National Instruments' products and services. Som
e of the vendors specialize in driver development. I would suggest contacting one of the Alliance members at:

  • Anybody has a LabVIEW 6 driver for Agilent 8510C?

Hello. I have LabVIEW version 6 and I am trying to talk to an Agilent 8510C network analyser. I seem to be able to communicate with the instrument only for sweep, number of points, etc, but I cannot transfer any data from the 8510 to the PC (to export data to Excel). I tried saving data to memory, and using the "outpdata, outpfrmt, outpraw" commands to transfer numbers to PC with no luck.
The NI site has only labVIEW 7 and 8 driver versions, so I am stuck. Has anybody developed anything for L.6? Any help much appreciated

Give this a try. In the future, if you need other drivers, it would help if you would attach the driver from NI's site. It's pretty simple to do a save for previous version assuming someone still has older versions of LabVIEW still installed. A lot of us do so it just makes it easier to do the down conversion if you attach the file you need converted.

    Reidl,
Thank you for your answer.  How do I uninstall my current version?  I have looked in "Add or Remove Programs," but I don't see anything under "Xilinx" or "Spartan."  I do see an entry for "National Instruments Software."  However, when I click "Change / Remove" I don't see any entries for the Spartan Board.
I tried running the installation program, and I received the following message:
The NI LabVIEW FPGA Support for Spartan-3E 1.1.0 installation has failed with the following error.
You have a higher version of NI LabVIEW FPGA Support for Spartan-3E in your system.  You must uninstall it before installing this again.
What is the latest version number?  How do I check what version I currently have?

  • LabVIEW RT driver support for CEI-620?

    Hi All,
I am using PXI-8106 to run heavy-duty communication and one chasis holds the CEI-620 card (third party ARINC429 card from GE, formerly Condor Engineering).  Currently  on the PXI controller only runs LabVIEW RT (Pharlap) since I did not want to install Windows OS to slow the performance.  Now here it is the problem, GE does not provide LabVIEW RT driver support for CEI-620 (they do have LabVIEW RT support for CEI-830 though, but that card is PMC interface). Basically right now MAX can not recognize the CEI-620 card on the host side, and I can not deploy my ARINC429 application VI to the target PXI controller. I am wondering anybody here has encountered the same problem and develop the LabVIEW RT driver for CEI-620 on his own?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Unfortunately I don't have much more information to offer.  I would suggest checking to make sure you have all the correct device information whe you create the ini file.  I think you should still be able to develop a driver for a poll based device.  It should be easier to generate an ini file if you do not require interrupt information.  Make sure you have the correct identification information and try using the VISA Driver Development Wizard again.

  • Looking for Labview driver for Agilent 4294A (HP)

    Help!
I've been browsing the driver database looking for the Labview GPIB driver
    for Agilent(formerly HP) 4294A Gain-Phase Analyzer.
Does anyone know where I can get it?

    Hello all,
NI is interested in developing LabVIEW and CVI drivers for the Agilent 4294A. I have been trying to obtain one of these units on loan from Agilent for the past couple of years with no success. If anyone can spare their 4294A for the duration of driver development or can influence Agilent to loan a 4294A, NI will write certified CVI and LabVIEW drivers for it.

  • North atlantic resolver(Model No:75DS2-1B1B1FC0) labview driver for NI real time controller

    Hi all,
I have North atlantic resolver(Model No:75DS2-1B1B1FC0) and LVDT/RVDT Simulation(Model No:75DS2-52521FC0)  cards. I am using this card in RT. I downloaded instrument driver from http://sine.ni.com/apps/utf8/niid_web_display.model_page?p_model_id=2386. How can I use this driver in RT code for simulate the resolver and lvdt?

I know it has been a while but NAI has had the LabView RT driver for a while now. The standard Window drivers now contains all the drivers which includes the VISA driver and the Windows drivers for 7 and XP.Using the stanard Windows driver will require the standard DLL.
If you are using the standard LabView running on Windows 7 or XP with NI VISA software layer you will need the VISA driver. The VISA driver's low level register operation follows NI method of talking to the board in a PC or in a PXI chassis. Installing the proper driver is the key to getting the board to work. If you allow Windows OS to pick the driver to use you are in trouble and it is going to a very  long day of frustration. Go into the Windows device manager and recognizing an entery that represents the NAI board should not be difficult to find. The entry should have yellow question mark indicating that something has been installed but not really working. If the Windows device manager sees the board correctly and MAX does not see the board at all then you have the wrong driver. Using the device manager and cherry picking the right driver from the list of driver provided in the NAI Windows driver offering is the way to get it working.
Once the driver is loaded the VISA has the API library in import form and there is a VI that opens and reads the serial with other information.
Using LabView RT requires additional files that are provided in the NAI driver which is now available.
The API is in a VI form so you may need to locate the VI you need then store in a folder that is more convenient to find.

  • I am looking labview driver for Tektronix TLA704 logic analyzer

I need this labview driver desperately, I am very appreciated if you have it and courtesy me a copy.
    Thanks

I did some looking around on the Tektronix web site.
Tek does not seem all that interested in supporting the
TLA704 in particular, or LabView(tm) for logic analyzers
at all. IMHO the Tek site sucks when you need to find
    information in depth.
I looked through National Instruments site too. Now on this
site it was easy to find what I was looking for. Good job.
Developing a LabVIEW instrument driver for a logic analyzer
looks to be a non-trivial task for anything more involved than
starting a capture and waiting for the data to log. Depending
on the driver it could be real slow getting a load of data from
    the logic analyzer.
It might be better to use the TLA programmatic interface
(TPI) to run the TLA704 by remote control over the Ethernet.
All the support for this comes with the analyzer software.
Though it's really painful to get it setup in Windows 98.
This way you could create a Windows program that runs
on your workstation to connect to the TLA704, set it up,
start a run, and download the data. Once the data is in
your workstation you can reformat for use by LabView.
I don't know that this would be easier than making a
LabVIEW instrument driver for a logic analyzer, but
at least all the software exists right now to control
    the TLA704 remotely.
    Charles.
I don't work for National Instruments,
or Tektronix or use LabView. But I use
    logic analyzers way too much.
