Labview Installer won't run on target PC

Hi,
I just created a Labview app and made an installer build, but once I try to install it on the target PC, I get an error saying that I must install Labview on the PC first.  The instructions for Labview (and the book I have) are very vague about saving, creating builds, and installers.  I thought that the installer includes the run-time engine with the installer, so a full version of Labview isn't needed on the target PC.  I even tried installing the run-time engine by itself beforehand, but it still won't work.  Can someone clear this up for me, please?  I'm very new to Labview, and programming in general.  Thanks!

You shouldn't have to include the VI for an exe distribution in the installer.
In the Installer creation, there's a option to have the Development Environment needed to install, perhaps you have (accidently) activated that setting?

  • How do I install the FM10 licensing fix when Adobe Update Installer won't run?

Adobe Update Installer won't run so can't install FM10 licensing fix

Because FM10 began crashing with "fatal" errors whenever I tried to generate a TOC for a small (65 page) book, I researched workarounds and none of them worked. Now that I have delivered a crippled deliverable via Acrobat manipulations, I would like to fix FM. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, got some updates, and then received the "licensing fix" error that popped up in January. I'm wondering why this fix was included not in the updates. That said, the licensing fix package, first, would not unzip so I downloaded it again. I unzipped it but I got a message that Adobe Updater Installer could not run and after several clicks I found that file. I reinstalled Adoble Update Installer but it still does not run.
I am running Windows XP and have TCS 3.5.I uninstalled FM and RH but not Acrobat, Captivate, or Photoshop.
So, now what? Listen to my supervisor who says never use FM again?
P.S. Why do I have to enter a title for my question and then do it again when this page opens??

Give Adobe Support a call or contact the TCS team at [email protected] - something in your environment is causing the installer to fail (I'd guess).

  • Itunes installer won't run in Windows 7

I am trying to install the latest version of itunes on my new laptop and the installer won't run.  It is a samsung sereis 7 notebook running Windows 7.
I have downloaded itunes multiple times and tried running as administrator.  I do not get any error, and occasionally a progress bar will flash up on screen for a couple of seconds but then nothing happens.  Other times I don't even get the progress bar, just nothing happens when I try to open the installer.
Would appreciate any help with this problem.  Its driving me crazy not being able to add new music to my ipod!

  • Mac OSX 10.5.8 Installer won't run

I just uninstalled my old version of Adobe Flash Player (deleting caches, preferences, etc (as the instructions say)) and tried to install the most recent version that my OS runs, Flash Player 10.3.183.90. I close all my apps, empty my trash, and even restart my computer but the installer won't run. It just bounces for a minute or so on my dock then just sits there, not opening. I have to force quit it because it says "Application not responding." I also unzipped the .app file that comes in the .dmg and i tried running the Flash Player app that appeared and it also does the exact same thing.

    1. Try creating another user account and try the installer under that accoiunt. If it works, you need to repair permissions on your account using the Disk Utility.
    2. If that doesn't resolve the installer issue for your account, try resetting the PRAM. Reboot holding the Cmd+Option+P+R keys and wait till the "startup chime" sounds three times, then release the keys.

  • QuickTime 7.1.5 installer won't run

The QuickTime 7.1.5 installer won't run. Installer says "QuickTime 7 cannot be installed on this computer." "This update requires less than MacOS X 10.4."

I looked in both the 7.1.5 and the 7.1.3 packages and could see no reference to the Two QuickTime plugins. The dates of the existing plugins differ a little from yours: pluginplugin is dated 14 Jan 2003, mod 15 April 2005 and web plugin is created 15 April 2005, mod same date.
Before I venture into these deep waters I'd like to be sure what actually loads these new plugins

  • Can't install itunes 10.3.1.55, installer won't run

I have been able to download the installer program, but when I run the installer nothing happens except for a brief appearance of a loading bar on the screen, which soon vanishes. No error messages, it just won't run.
I have tried right click and run as administrator - same problem. I have tried uninstalling itunes and quicktime, made no difference. I have restarted, I have removed all temp files and old versions of the installer. Tried redownloading the installer. Still nothing.
So now I have no itunes, but a new ipad enroute that I won't be able to sync argh!
Running windows vista 64bit (yes I am using the 64 bit installer program) on an HP laptop.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

Well as I mentioned earlier I had alreayd tried the uninstalling (as per the apple support website).
I went through trying to change the permissions - which seemed a little confusing as although I am the only use of the computer there were about 5 options - but I picked the one that was the same as my user name. Changed most of the permissions for program files and program files (x86) (some of them it wouldn't allow me to change "access denied"), restarted and tried to install again. Same thing happened as before - nothing.
I have never received the error message that was mentioned in that thread.
edit: I don't have anyone I can get the itunes files off at the moment, so I haven't tried transferring them from another computer.

  • Installer won't run.

After moving to a new MacBook, I deauthorized Creative Suite Std 3.3 on my old computer.
But trying to use the serial numbers failed, so I was told by Adobe support to uninstall the apps, then download the 3.3 suite again and run the installer.
I did that, but the installer will not run. It challenges me for my Mac password, which I provide, and then about 10 seconds it fails, popping up the dialog box "STARTUP ERROR: REQUIRED RESOURCES ARE MISSING"
I have downloaded it three times today, and each has the same result. And it's a 2.2 GB download.
I have no applications and I need to do a project!

Wdfs[0ioajsdfpa98djosf it sounds like you possibly used the Migration assistant at one point to attempt to move Creative Suite 3.3 to your new computer.  Is this correct?
If so you can try running the uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers once the uninstall is complete you will then want to also run the CS Cleaner Tool.  You can find details on it's use at CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html.
If you continue to face difficulties then my best advice would be to format, reinstall the OS, and then use the Migration assistant to only move over your documents and settings.  Adobe applications are not designed to be copied from one computer to another.  This is basically what happens when running the Migration assistant.  I have seen Users spend hours and even days trying to resolve the difficulties introduced by copying the install files to their new computer.  Once the Migration assistant has copied over your documents and settings you can then reinstall from your installation media/files.

  • Executable won't run on target PC

    Hi
I have written an application to control a 'Data Translation' PCI data acquisition card (DT302) using LabVIEW (8.6.1). I have used Data Translations 'LVLink' VIs in the application. It works perfectly on the development PC as a VI and as an executable.
The problem arises when I try to run the executable on a target PC. The program fails to recognize the DT302 card. I believe I have the necessary extra files/software installed:
    LabVIEW RTE (8.6.1)
DT Open Layers for .NET Class Library
    LVLink2.dll
    Driver for DT302 card
I know the card is installed correctly as it can be recognized by other (non Labview) programs. I think I may require an additional file or .dll but I'm not sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Stuart

Suspect this is due to a relative path call to the dlls being created by the calling VIs when you compile.
It may be due to a version difference in the files mentioned on your PC and the ones used on the "blank PC".
Recommend you make an installer which includes the dlls and re-installs them to the PC - it is possible that the NI calls to the dlls are modifying them or the registry.
    James
    Edit:
Compare the Path between your LabVIEW PC and your blank one
Also check the correct params are inserted in the path for any calls to functions external to LabVIEW, this could be causing breaks if %PATH% has not got the required files in it.

  • Building a LabVIEW installer that auto runs

    Hello,
I am looking for a tutorial that gives the steps on creating an installer. I need to have the installer copied to a DVD for distrubution. I am wondering if there is a way to have the install run once the DVD in inserted like an "Auto Run" Is this possible? The next best I guess would be to include a readme file which I will probably have anyways. I have always written the program on the PC that it will be used on so creating an installer is new to me.
    Thanks,
    John

Depends on the environment, but if we are talking Windows you need to make an autorunrun.inf, then burn the DVD with the software and the autorun.inf on the root of the DVD.
    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000670.htm
Keep in mind that in Windows can be configured to not use the autorun.inf for security reasons.  If this is enabled you won't be able to use this feature.

  • Installs won't run

I have a Cube, and it runs ok (I installed OS X 3 on it, so I had a fresh start). I was able to install a few things on it at first, but at some point the install files stopped working.
I have an iLife 04 CD, but when I click on the Install icon, it just opens up a window with a folder called "Contents" in it. On a Mac at my office, the iLife CD works just fine, and will start the "install walk-through" when I click Install icon.
I'm not a native Mac user... I've used Windows my whole life, so to me it sounds like executable files are associated with the Finder instead of the Installer, or something like that. In any case, it's driving me nuts; I can't install anything. If anyone could help me with it, I'd be very grateful.
    Thanks.

Primarily because doing it with no backup is a problem. If you have enough backups, then you should be fine. If after doing Erase and Install, programs won't install that are compatible with the operating system, then it suggests there is a hardware issue with the system, or the installer disks themselves. Some parts of iLife '04 will not run on a Cube. Here are the system requirements for iLife '04
    http://web.archive.org/web/20040401185218/www.apple.com/ilife/
So it may also be you are installing a part that doesn't work on the Cube.

  • PS CS6 Installation won't run on my mac

Adobe Download Assistant will Download PS CS6 Trial but when I go to Install the program will not run. Also Will not show product on My Adobe.

First when you try to install do you receive any error messages?  You stated when you try opening the install folder nothing happens.  Are you just opening a folder or are you double clicking on an installer?
Finally you mentioned not receiving an activation code from Adobe.  Did you purchase the Student and Teacher Edition of the software?  If so have you submitted your proof of eligibility?

  • Late 2009 iMac Windows installer won't run

So I will explain with more detail. My iMac is the late 2009 21.5 inch iMac with a..

    500GB HDD
So I followed the bootcamp guide which was made by apple.  I opened up the bootcamp assistant and downloaded all of the software needed, and started partitioning the disk. I made about 40GB of space for my Windows side. After the partition completed, my mac restarted and started to read the DVD. However, I only get a black screen, and I can't get the Windows 7 installer to run. I thought I have some problems with my install disk so I used virtual box to see if the dvd works. When I used it on virtual box, the installer started and everything went fine. But when I use this for bootcamp, it did not work. I tried resetting everything, using a different installation disk, redo the partitioning, or boot up the disk by pressing the option key at the startup and selecting the disc. But none of them worked. I don't know why this is not working, since windows installed without any problems on my macbook pro retina. If someone was in the same situation or knows a solution for this, please help me. Again it is the Late 2009 iMac 21.5 inch model.

How do get OUI to run in Linux?

We reinstalled Linux per puschitz.com's instructions (ie. load the software development options), installed j2re1.4, then modified the ini file that OUI uses to point to our jre install instead of the busted jre that ships with OUI. That finally got OUI working. Thanks to everyone that replied to my inquiry :-)

  • Please Help - iTunes installer won't run on double-click

I am facing a reload of Win 7 x64 tonight if I don't get this fixed. When I run the installer all it does is create a temp folder and put an .msi in there. Nothing else happens. No errors or messages, no hung processes. nothing.
I've completely uninstalled itunes and every apple product. I've tried QuickTime independently and it does the same thing. The Windows installer is clean with no Apple entries. I initially got the message "itunes + QuickTime have an invalid signature" when trying to upgrade from 9.1 to 9.2 which prompted me to completely remove everything. My iPhone4 is coming Thursday so I've got to get this working!!
    thanks all.

I had this same problem. I followed the instructions on how to use MSCONFIG listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1275
In my case, iTunes & Quicktime were already uninstalled, so I just skipped the step about checking "qtask" & "iTunes Helper."
I used MSCONFIG to re-boot in selective start up mode. Then, I fully shutdown Virus protection. The iTunes installer ran after doing this.
