From your description it sounds like your course is made up of several different project files, each of which has a quiz at the end, correct?
Self-paced learning option only applies separately within each module.  So if you have several different modules, self-paced learning won't do what you want.
If your modules are all separate then you need some other method of locking participants out of sections they have not as yet reached.  This is something that LMSs can do and that's why I asked if you had one.

  • Is there going to be any more online training courses released soon for BC? Anywhere?

Is there going to be any more online training courses released soon for BC? Anywhere? I'm seriously baffled by the lack of educational meterial out there. ALL of the adobe tutorials are out of date and the subjects are on small fragments of the whole platform. No complete training packages but one out there. I don't mind paying for it but I need a full and complete online training process, experience that isn't all over the place. I can't even find any books that are on the current version of BC.
Why is there a serious lack of traning out there for BC? I just can't figure it out.

Have you not checked out any of this?

  • How do I get a Connect Training Course to update my Captivate Presentation Version?

I am using a presentation with quiz created in Adobe Captivate 5.  I am using this as a online training course on Adobe Connect.  I published the first two versions, which are reflected in user reports in Connect.
However, I have made some important changes to the Captivate Presentation, and have published them to the Adobe Connect Server in the correct location. On the connect Admin page, it shows the updated version date/time for creation and uploading.  But when I have someone go to take the course, it is still the previous version that gets loaded.
How do I force or get the most updated version to be used on Connect?

It could be a 'caching' issue with the browser....so easy first check is to clear your browser cache then load Connect and the link again... Still not correct?
Then only thing I can suggest is you post the question to the Connect discussion group (as I don't know much at all about file management in Connect....)

  • Online Training and Flash Certification

Hi . Has anyone taken any of the Macromedia University online
training courses? If so, have they been helpful? I've noticed that
the listings havent been updated for Flash 8. They are all MX2004.
Do courses specific to Flash 8 exist? I have also been thinking
about getting a Macromedia Certification. These also are all for
MX2004. Does anyone know if courses and certiification exist for
    Flash Professional 8? Thanks.

Interesting fix. Being new to Macs I am not sure how that happened to you. I checked my Safari's info and Open with Rosetta was already unchecked. It's not that I cannot completely play Java games on Pogo, but if the game window does not crash, the game table will be blank and the chat text area will be shown, or the chat text area will be blank while the game table shows up.
It is frustrating. Still, I think it is more to do with the developers and web designers than with our out of the box settings. In comparison, the majority of Windows PC's can play games on Pogo, Yahoo, MSN, etc., without much more than downloading and install ActiveX.
If a Windows PC and a Mac both have the same version of Java installed, and all required platform updates are installed, respectively, what common sense reasoning would be behind the conflict that either platform would have with interacting with a Java based online gaming site?
The coders do not write for the lesser number of site traffic. Hard to swallow, but it is my honest opinion. Still, I gave up frustrations I could count on when I shut down my PC for the last time and I do not intend to allow a lack of gaming to get me down as a new Mac user.

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Online Training

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but I don't see one on training.
Has anyone take the SAP Online Training courses for Crystal Reports 2008?
    Did you find them beneficial?
Do you feel they provide adequate resources and train in a way the lends itself to helping you pass the certification exam?

It sounds like you have a really solid foundation for learning, so that will be a big help.  As to how useful the classes are for obtaining certification, it depends.  (Good) Instructor led will always be better, even if it's online, IMO, because a good instructor will be able to provide context to why you might consider doing something within Crystal Reports.  There are exercises in the classes, for example, on how to technically use a feature, but not necessarily instructions on appropriate use of or caveats to using the feature.
That being said, the certification exams themselves don't rely so much on experience as they do rote memory.  Thoroughly reading through the excellent Crystal Reports help file (one of the most comprehensive help files I've seen) in preparation for an exam can help greatly.
What do I mean when I say the exams are horrid?  Here's are examples based on my last exam:
It had a question about the proper name for a feature where the name doesn't exist in Crystal Reports or anywhere in the training guides (which I have, because I teach Crystal Reports).  I came back home, searched or the term in the help file.  It didn't exist...
I was asked 4 variations of the same question.   Seriously...  This can hose you, since most people will go back and verify they answered them all the same.  If one's wrong, they're all wrong...
There were multiple choice answer questions where it's really only important for you to know any one of the ways to do something, not every single way to do something.  Example:  Which 3 of these four answers will let you do X?  Why do you need to know all three ways when knowing one will get the job done? Does knowing that I can create a new formula by clicking a button or right-clicking make me more of an expert?  I had an interesting conversation with my boss the other day - we had a webex session going to review a report and everything she did was the opposite of what I would do (she clicked a button to create a formula and I right-click within the field explorer, for example).
I was asked a question for which there were two possible answers out of the four, but only one was allowed.   I could be right, but still get it wrong.  That's really irritating...
The tests are frustrating, to say the least.

  • Online training - through professional webcasts

    Hi all,
I've been looking around for on-line training webinars of professional quality, the closest that I've found are sites such as Parleys.com -
but they aren't really training sessions per say.
That has made me start to wonder whether there is a market for me to do my own professional webinars at a nominal fee - say £10 per session! My goal would be to set a price that permits individuals to purchase training sessions, simply by reducing the cost to the minimum but increasing the number of people in the webcast.
I've had the luxury of being to Learning-Tree courses, costing my employer £3,000+. As an individual, I would love to go again, but
alas my employer is not likely to send me any time soon, I also personally don't have that sort of money to spend!
I would love to hear your thoughts, in particular it would be great if you could spend some time completing this [Quick Online Survey|http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KSJPB58]?
I do appreciate that you might want to just reply here instead, either way, your feedback would be very much appreciated.
If you do know of any good training resources that go in to depth, I'd love to know too!
    Regards,
    Rob - SpikyOrange.

So, if you were able to subscribe to a training course that provided the course in PDF format,.. I detest PDF as well. About the only thing they are good for is printing, and I have already killed enough trees while printing program listings in my 'youth'.
What I like, as documents, are documents that will stretch (or squeeze) to whatever screen width I am willing to devote to the viewer at that instant, with hyper-links so I can jump around the document, that I can easily resize the text of, and preferably with a 'search' facility and bookmarks. The first parts of that can be accomplished using HTML (so long as the author/editing software was not trying to force an HTML document into some idiotic 'ideal screen size'). The latter parts can be provided by wrapping the HTML in JavaHelp.
..but backed by videos, then you wouldn't be interested in the webinar itself? .. Do you mean a streamed webcast? Not really. With bloody videos, I find myself spending more time fast forwarding/rewinding to get to the bit I want, than I do watching them.
By webinar I have more the impression of a web conference, with real live people at the other end. For such interactive help I prefer email - which allows me to get my thoughts straight, before making a complete fool of myself.
..In some ways, this is better news, I can create the material and have an online purchasing system and my time after that is in improving the tutorial rather than presenting it over and over again.
Would you prefer PDF or printed material - i.e. a printed book with the full course in it (I personally hate reading from the screen).I detest reading on a page, that which I could have read on my screen at any size that suits me.
But note, I do not claim to speak for anyone but me.

Please Help to find the answers of the Above Questions .

    Hi,
Wow, that sounds like pretty bad service from your training centre. I would take my business elsewhere.
Anyway, I might be able to help a little questions 3 and 4. I did my ABAP certification a few years ago.
"3. What Is the prerequisite for SAP ABAP Crtification through OLT like we know candidate must have a basic knowledge of any programming language but upto what extend ?"
To learn ABAP you need to know programming basics. It's not much different to other languages. To become certified you need broad ABAP & SAP knowledge and (ideally) some real experience.
"4. How much time a candidate must devote and how a candidate prepare a blue print or a time table for preparing for there certification exam as well as having in depth knowledge of ABAP"
It took me about 6 months (part-time) of rereading the course notes, practicing on sample tests, and making up sample questions.
Here are some tips on what to do in the certification exam itself:

  • Training course recommendations in UK?

    Hi,
Firstly, I'm aware this probably isn't the best place to be posting about training course, but didn't rally think it fitted anywhere else.
My company have asked if I would like to go on a Web Development course. Obviously I said YES!
But now I am tasked with working out what would be the most useful things to learn and where?
I would class myself as a great graphic designer / beginner to better than average web designer. The type of things they would like my to be able to implement is online surveys, gather customer information, customer databases and so forth. Basically I would be implementing the marketing departments, well, marketing!
So I thought I should be looking at PHP & SQL? Maybe some XML? What would others say? Also I'm looking for a reliable company, any suggestions?
Ideally in the Bristol, Gloucestershire or Birmingham area, however London would be fine.

I'm the instructor for the Dreamweaver CS4 - Getting Started three-day course offered by Highlander (http://highlander.co.uk), an Adobe authorized training centre. I normally teach at Highlander's training centre in London, but also do training off base (in February, I taught a course in Leeds). The course I teach is described as "designed for those with no previous experience of webpage / application development". As a result, it starts from the basics, but gets into quite advanced territory by the end of the three days, particularly if participants already have a reasonable knowledge of web development (as many of them do).
Highlander also offers a PHP/MySQL course. Although I specialize in PHP/MySQL, the course is not taught by me. However, Highlander has discussed the possibility of me doing a more advanced Dreamweaver course that includes PHP/MySQL. Offering such a course would depend on sufficient people signing up for it. You might want to ask your company to inquire about arranging such a course, even though it's not currently listed on the training schedule (the person to contact is the Managing Director, Andy Gardiner).
In case you don't know who I am, I'm an Adobe Certified Instructor for Dreamweaver and the author of a series of books on Dreamweaver, PHP, and MySQL (http://foundationphp.com).
Of course, there are other training companies in the UK that others might be able to recommend.

  • Why does my published Captivate file show online as "Course Object Title?"

In my company's Moodle online training site, my published Capivate course appears as:
    Captivate E-Learning Course
    Course Object Title
To view the course, users have to click on "Course Object Title."
I can live with the involuntary advertisement for Captivate (sigh), but I'd like the clickable link to be the name of the course.
Can anyone help with this, or is it a Captivate bug?

Under Preferences/Reporting/Scorm 1.2/Configure (Manifest if not in cptx 6)
Another window pops up. The Course Title (Captivate E-Learning Course) is what shows up in the LMS and the SCO title (Course Object Title) is what shows up in the PopUp window (at least in my LMS). So you'll need to changes those to your unique titles. For the SCO title, I typically put an abbreciated version of the course title plus "CLICK HERE" so the user knows they still have something else to click).

    Hope that helps

  • What additional resources are required to do the TestStand training courses I and II?

I have the TestStand course manuals for courses I and II and am currently trying to refresh what I learned a couple of months ago when I took the courses.  I'm at the point where almost every VI required comes up broken because additional libraries are required in LabVIEW.  Why aren't the additional required libraries listed in the course documentation?  What are the additional libraries and how do I get them?

    Hi there!
If I had to guess I would say that you're missing the TS support API libraries for LabVIEW... Since those are the only 'special' libraries used by any of the examples in the TestStand 3.x or 4.x training manuals.
I'm going to assume that you have some recent version of LabVIEW (8.x?) and some recent version of TestStand (3.x) installed? Unless you took the NI training course more than a few years ago, in which case you might need earlier version of TS, LabVIEW version really shouldn't matter. Evaluation copies ought to be sufficient so I wouldn't blame those...
(If you don't have LabVIEW at all. Make sure you have the correct LabVIEW Run Time Engine version, as that's a pretty common source of TS errors... But without LabVIEW half of the exercises in the training manual are moot anyway...)
In your LabVIEW install path, (C:\ program files etc...\LabVIEW 8.x\)  look for the folder path "vi.lib\addons\TestStand\", it ought to be full of a few *.llb files that TS would furnish to LabVIEW when the product is installed.  Sometimes when you install things in an unexpected order, or if you have multiple LVs installed, these items don't get put where you expect.
If the folder is empty, copy what you need from... the TestStand install path (C:\ program files etc...\TestStand x.x\) folder "AdapterSupport\LabVIEW" and restart LV. This might get you up and running.
If the folder is not empty. Try running a MassCompile from your LabVIEW Tools ->Advanced menu, there might be a version incompatibility issue...
Feel free to send me an email if you're still stuck. But there aren't any external dependencies/hardware drivers needed for the TS training sequences...
    Cheers!
