LabVIEW programmer wanted with imaging & sub micron motion control experience

We have a project where we need to align a microscopic image of a prober tip to a mask of known XY coordinates.  The image will be acquired with a video microscope with a high resolution digital camera, and the prober will be mounted onto an automated XY theta stage.  The mask will have to be scaled to match different magnifications/fields of view, and the stage will automatically align the prober to the mask. Project is located in Eugene, OR. Please contact John, or Gary at 800 706 2284 for further details.

Hi, I'm having a problem with switching of relays using ADAM module 4608. I have 4 relays with me. The vendor supplied commands to open and close relays. But while using serial communication protocol, I can only operate one relay at a time. The problem is there are four different  commands to open but only one command to close it all. I couldn't operate all the four relays simultaneously. Program I developed is attached with this message. The commands to open are, #010001,#010002,#010004,#010008 and the close command is #010000.please, can you help me find a solution. I'm really stuck here.

  • Problem with data acquisition and motion control

I have PCI-6024E and PCI-7342 cards on a single PC. Servo motion control works fine when it goes alone or is accompanied by one point data acquisition in a while loop, but when I start data acquisition with specified sample rate, the motor moves with breaks.
Does anybody know what is the problem? Is it possible to fix it?

How are you performing your motion? Is it a position move or a velocity move? How are your triggering the data acquisition? Using breakpoints on the 7342? If so, are you using single breakpoints or modulo? How are you configuring the data acquisition rate? Are you triggering just the start to the acquisition and the unsing the daq scan clock or are you using the motion controller to send the scan clock itself?

    Hi Adam,
I am sorry to hear that you have been having such difficulties deploying your application. As far as the licensing goes, you are correct that the Vision RTE includes a license for VAS. You should be able to activate it using the same serial number. If you are unable to activate it using the serial number, you can try generating an activation code here.
Can you offer some more detail on what is going wrong with the machine vision functions? Are you getting any error messages or warnings? Is your executable stopping? Also, have you tried building a simple executable from one of the examples in the NI Example finder? I am curious if this issue is specific to this executable or if it spans across all machine vision executables. For your reference, here is a White Paper that goes through the steps needed to create an executable using VDM.

  • LabView / DSC / FieldPoint with Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control

I am developing a LabView DSC based control program to communicate with multiple FieldPoint modules (cFP2200/cFP1808) for a client. Their IT department has implemented Symantec Endpoint Encryption Device Control ( http://www.symantec.com/endpoint-encryption-device-control ) and I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this software?
From what I have read and had explained to me, it is much more than an antivirus program. It operates at a very low level within Windows and restricts reading/writing to external devices, USB sticks, network shares, etc. It can also monitor / restrict network traffic and WiFi access.
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi MillerMech,
I believe it will cause some errors to be thrown due to its restrictive nature. Symantec has a discussion forum which will most likely be more helpful:

  • LabVIEW runtime application doesn't recognize 7334 motion board

I have programmed an application with a PCI-7334 motion controller which works fine (with LabVIEW 7.0 and NI Motion 6.1.2). Then I built a runtime application with the application builder and transferred it together with the motion controller to another PC and I get a lot of error messages like "illegal board number". The board ID shown in MAX is correct and corresponds to the value in my application.
Then I installed the LabVIEW development system on this other PC and the VIs run properly and recognizes the controller.
    Where is the mistake?

There is a little trap when creating an executable from a LabVIEW program that is accessing a NI motion control board. The problem is caused by a type def that is reset to its default value in an executable.
The solution of this problem is quite simple. Please refer to the following document in the NI knowledge base for a detailled explanation and to learn how to resolve this issue:

  • Simple straight line motion control with brushless motor and encoder/microswitch

I want to go build a motion control system/program using labview. I have a brushless motor and a controller and a National instrument DAC (NI USB-6009). This is how my system looks like: receive an input signal 4-20mA, this should be converted to 0-5V for the controller for speed, controller should move motor till it hits micro switch. The micro switch/encoder should generate a signal (5V) back to shut the controller. I want to record the position of the motor in labview. How do I do this? How do I set the system up? Thank you in advance

    Controller from anaheimautomation: MDC151-050301
    Motor:BLWSG234D-36V-4000-R3
    Controller and motor go together.
The input signal for the system will be 4-20mA. Using this signal I will correlate it to a specific voltage which will drive the speed of the motor. This will displace the lead screw linearly. I will have a microswitch that will be triggered by screw and will relay a signal to shut the motor. I want find a way to record the position of the shaft/leadscrew at that specific point. I want to identify a home position, halfway position and full length travel position. I will use 3 swiches or 1 switch in three positions to identify all these points.
My end result should be whwn I turn on the system or start the program It should detect whether it is at the home position, if not travel to home then respond accordigly given an input signal(4-20mA).
How will I program such on labview...finding all the right icons to record the data is such a mess for me since i'm a beginner.
    Thanks

  • Download for 7342 motion control

Are there any downloads avaliable to control an xy stage using Labview 6.1 and a PCI-7342 motion control card?

Two Axis Vector Move with Position Monitor.vi located in the Multiple Axis.llb ('default LabVIEW path'\Examples\Motion\FlexMotion\) demonstrates two-axis motion and should work with the PCI-7342. That example demonstrates the fundamentals of two-axis vector move but if you need a more specific example let me know.

  • Horizontal menu with horizontal sub menu using image rollovers or similar

    Hello,
I am brand new to web design and working on my first site.  What I lack in skills, I have in free time to learn right now : ) Please let me know if there is a tutorial or other resource that describes what I am trying to do...I've been searching for days and just can't find what I'm after.
The design concept is a menu of main categories that apear to be floating over an object.  When you hover over one, it looks like it gets pressed down in space resulting in the next line populating with subcategories to be selected.  If you click on the main elements, you would be directed to that page - Services for instance.  If you just hovered over a main category, you would be presented with a list of sub-categories that behave in the same fashion.  If you then clicked on one of the sub-categories, you would be taken to that specific page.
Here's a sequence of images that show what I'm after.
I built all this in Illustrator as described in a Lynda.com tutorial.  I then exported slices to dreamweaver and started building content.  Each of the categories and sub categories is a separate slice with images built for the rollovers.  I was able to build the main categories and get them to visually sink upon using an imageswap...now I'm stuck on how to get the second line to behave as I described.
This is a fun learning experience.  Let me know if there is a better way to achieve the design.  I just stared investigating SSIs as well and see the value in having this menu in just one place, referenced into all my subsequent pages.  I have successfully embeded an SSI footer with rollovers on my page, but this menu problem is really tough for me.
    I really appreciate any pointers.
    Thanks,
    Jeff Prince

I tried building a Spry Horizontal menu to get what I want, but I had no success there.  Any tips for that?
On a separate note...I do not know if it is proper to use a 'tabbed panel' for my menu project, but it seems to work fine.  I have built both the top (main category) and bottom (sub category) lines of my menu using spry with .png image rollovers.
Now I just need to find out how to make the main category button rollover stay 'down' while browsing the subcategories.  I would also like to get the subcategories to populate upon mouseover of the main category, without requiring a selection.  Now that would be slick : )  In my example above, the 'services' title should be depressed while in that submenu and look like 'landscape design'.
One minor problem is the space created between my subcategory images.  I can't find the .css or .js that is creating that space.  I've really trimmed down all the .css and do not know where else to hunt.
    Thanks for any advice,
    Jeff

    hello everybody
is it possible to tell me how i can make program in labview that take pixels of black and withe image and give coordinate of black or white pixels back to me.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Here's a slightly simpler version.
(Depending how you want to process the output, you might not need to traspose and/or reverse. Boolean to 0,1 works directly on the 2D array if needed )
    amkamyab wrote:
it is good. i could enter 1bit image in and show it in array. now i want to take pixels coordinates. i meen i want to have (x,y) of each pixel to send it pixel coordinate to another program i wrote for steppers motor.
Can you be a bit more specific on how the output is supposed to look like? Initially you wrote "black or white", and since all pixels are either black or white, do you want to send all pixels? In what format? In what order? Please clarify?
