Hi Adam,
I am sorry to hear that you have been having such difficulties deploying your application. As far as the licensing goes, you are correct that the Vision RTE includes a license for VAS. You should be able to activate it using the same serial number. If you are unable to activate it using the serial number, you can try generating an activation code here.
Can you offer some more detail on what is going wrong with the machine vision functions? Are you getting any error messages or warnings? Is your executable stopping? Also, have you tried building a simple executable from one of the examples in the NI Example finder? I am curious if this issue is specific to this executable or if it spans across all machine vision executables. For your reference, here is a White Paper that goes through the steps needed to create an executable using VDM.

  • Since downloading itunes 11.03 I cannot get back movies on my ipad  or music and i have no clue how it works anymore after many years of enjoying it, I now have no clue and I'm about as angry as anyone could be.  What has happened !!

Please help , I have downloaded upgrade 11.03.. Now I have lost my movies and music files from my ipad and cannot reinstall them , try as I might.  Having used itunes for years I cannot believe I cannot mkae this work and feel very let down by itunes for allowing this upgrade to mess everything up still havent put it right. so can anyone help or are we all waiting for apple and itunes to sort themselves out. They must be loosing money as I can see from so many comment pages else where I am not the only person by far that is having the same or similar issues. I have wasted hours and still no further forward. I have lost all faith in apple itunes and reluctant to change anything or download any other updates, sad for someone who has a ipone , ipod and ipad.

I copied this from an extremely knowledgable iTunes for Windows user in another discussion. Maybe this will help.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit (iTunes) > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit(iTunes) > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs and playlist views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
If you are a Mac user, all you have to do is start navigating through the menu items at the top of the screen to find just about everything that is mentioned here.

  • Firefox recently started crashing for no apparent reason. I have been using it for years, 6 months on this computyer with Windows 7 and no problems.

It most often crashes when I am accessing a wmv file, but it has happened numerous times when I am asking nothing of it, just sitting there . I always check the boxes that send the report to headquarters and report the page I was on and all that, but nothing in the help files has helped so far. I run Ad-Aware and Spybot regularly and have Norton as my normal security software. Naturally! Oh, the frustrations with working with crazy electrons.

I'll get right on it! Thanks for that tip. I'll check back in with a full status report as soon as I can try it out.

  • Will Mountain Lion work on my 4 year old iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo   Processor Speed:     2.66 GHz

Will Mountain Lion work on my 4 year old iMac with Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a 2.66 gHz.
Really do not want to load it and find there are issues.
Oh I really not a big tech guy I just want everything to work well.
And I'm just about to purchase a Mac Book Pro as well.
Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated
    Cheers

I also have a 4 year old iMac 24". it is the 3.06 GHz Core 2 Duo. I have been running Mountain Lion since it was released, and before that Lion. Runs great. Over the last month I have noticed some slow data transfers from a USB harddrive. But not enough to do any research. I use a USB harddrive for my Time Machine backup and notice no problems or slow transfers while the Time Machine backup runs. My iTunes has its nedia files on a USB harddrive and is used to watch videos, play music and share photos on the AppleTV. I also use Aperture on the iMac to store and manage 20,000 photos.
I have 6 GB of ram, 4GB and 2GB memory sticks. I know it is best to have identical ram sticks but my iMac model cannot run 8GB of ram and I feel 6GB is better than 4GB.
Mountain Lion is a great OS and I am glad I upgraded. It works great with the AppleTV (no airplay but iTunes on the iMac serves up all our music, photos and videos), iPhone, and iPod Touch. Also with my wifes brand new Macbook Pro. All the devices including the iMac can share data on iCloud.

    Welcome to the Forums!
+1. What screen should I go with? Regular or the Hi-res. LED screen.+
Whatever you like! High-res is nice, but the text will be ~small~ !!
+2. Why should I buy 4gig of ram with my computer from Apple for $400 when I get get it for almost 1/4 the price from a retailer and install it myself? Any reason the apple memory would be better?+
You shouldn't. Buy it from a 3rd party like Crucial or Newegg. Apple memory is just bought from other OEMs anyway, not made by Apple.
+3. Any advantage or disadvantage to get the black case?+
MacBook Pros are aluminum, not black. You're thinking of MacBooks.
+4. Does the 7200rpm 200gig HDD really add that much speed from the 250gig 5200rpm HDD?+
Adds a little, but honestly unless you're running I/O-intensive tasks you'll get more out of the extra 50 GB.
+5. Here is the big question. I don't need the computer until mid July. Should I wait to purchase to see if Apple comes out with a better processor and graphics card or is it unlikely this will happen?+
Although speculation about future Apple releases is +against the Terms of Use for these forums+, it's safe to say that there will ALWAYS be a better processor, better graphics card, faster this, more that, bigger the other released in a few months. That's the computer industry. If you need one, buy now. If you can wait, wait. No matter when you buy, there will always be something better soon. This link may help.
+6. Any advantage or disadvantage to the 15" over the 17"?+
Just a different size in a different configuration.
Go to an Apple Store, try them out!

It sounds like you have solid experience. Have you considered contract work? The job market kinda sucks right now. Check out net-temps.com and jobcircle.com. Presently I work through a contract house called YOH Scientific, yohscientific.com in Newark, DE. I'm sure they could find you work but they'll skim a lot off the top. I worked with optical comm when I lived in Mass. Too bad it took a dive. I still see a lot of opportunities for RF comm in southern New Jersey. They usually want LabWindows/CVI. Since you know c/c++, LW/cvi would be a cake walk for you.
Parts of California are also looking hot. I just got this from my net-temps search agent:
