Labview runtime 2013 silent install

HI,
I would like to install LV runtime 2013 silently. I tried to use /qb option in CMD to install silently (setup.exe /qb), but I got the "Invalid command line parameters" error. However, if I use setup.exe /r (suppress final reboot) it works. I checked that /qb option is specified in help.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Please try:
setup /qb /AcceptLicenses yes

  • Visio and Project 2013 silent install returns immediately (before install is finished)

    Hi,
I am building a task sequence that will include Office 2010 ProPlus (volume license), a bunch of other products (like SQL Server and Visual Studio) and also Visio 2013 and Project 2013.
For Visio 2013 and Project 2013, I have to use the retail media (this is for use in academic computer labs and we have a single retail key through DreamSpark Premium that allows unlimited activations - I don't know why DreamSpark doesn't just give a volume
    license key).
I managed to get Visio 2013 and Project 2013 to install silently by modifying the config.xml file and using the /config parameter. However, when running my install script (the usual VBScript wrapper) or just from the command line, the command returns before
setup finishes (literally within less than a second). Setup continues to run and finishes successfully, but as you can imagine, MDT considers that application install finished and tries to move on to the next application which fails because another installation
    is still in progress.
I've included below the relevant portion of the VBScript wrapper. Any help in figuring out how to get the wrapper to wait for the installer to finish is appreciated.
    sSetupFile = oUtility.ScriptDir & "\Source\setup.exe"
    sArguments = "/config vispror.ww\config.xml"
    oLogging.CreateEntry oUtility.ScriptName & ": Starting installation", LogTypeInfo
// Check for existence of setup file omitted
    iRetVal = oUtility.RunWithHeartbeat("""" & sSetupFile & """ " & sArguments)
Coincidentally, iRetVal = 0 indicating success.
    Thanks,
    SA

    Hi SA,
Obviously you use the VBS wrapper for some reason. To my understanding this behaviour needs to be captured and translated to "script is till busy, when installation completes script is finished, proceed to next step".
I can only advise you to either try the command line directly in MDT, instead of using the VBS wrapper, and/or try to create an MSP and try this in your VBS wrapper, command line directly in MDT.
MSP files are easily created by going into command prompt to the sources folder of Visio / Project and execute the following command: setup.exe /admin this will start the Office Customization Tool which enables you to create an MSP file.
When you are ready, execute the following command to install the application with the settings in the MSP: setup.exe /adminfile custom.msp
Again I can imagine the purpose of the VBS just as I can imagine the purpose of using the config.xml above a custom.msp. But for starters this should get you going to try to find an resolve where the issue lies. In the VBS or somewhere else.
    Cheers!

  • Labview 2010 SP1 silent install

    Hello,
I have a student version of Labview 2010 SP1. I have located an article on how to perform a silent install using v2008 (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/AA2371E815A418DD86257169005F2D99?OpenDocument). I was wondering if anyone had a 'spec file' or silent install file for 2010 SP1? If not has anyone tried creating a .MSI using WinInstall?
We are trying to push it out using Group policy to one of our small teaching labs. I was going to create a startup batch to accomplish this.
    Thank you
    ZoeTaite

OK...after some reading I see you can generate a 'spec file' that will help with the silent installation of the Labview 2010 SP1 software via group policy. Is there a way to to modify the nisuite.xml to automatically register the software? Like I mentioned we are pusing this out to a student lab and I don't want to provide the SN (even though it comes up when you launch it).

  • Lync 2013 - Silent install via .msp does not work

The thread listed below is marked as "answered" and indeed the answer given is correct and should work. . . but recently it seems to have stopped working for many.
(EDIT:  Site will not allow me to post the link I was planning to post, "until it verifies my account."  So, I can only refer you to the thread named "Lync 2013 Client - Silent Installation")
Specifically, it should be possible to do a silent install of Lync 2013 by following the instructions given in the link above to use setup.exe /admin and create an .msp to put in the "updates" folder for the silent install.
The problem is, recently (September 2014-ish) this appears to have stopped working.  The thread quoted above has several people replying, all during September 2014, that this method does not work.  I am among them.  Lync 2013 runs through
the setup, but only Office Tools ever appears as installed in the Start menu.  However, if you go to Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, and look for Lync 2013, it is listed there.  You can then tell it to "repair" the Lync installation,
and it reinstalls properly.  This, of course, defeats the whole purpose of trying to do a silent install, however.
Since it appears that the .msp silent install method used to work, but now does not -- what changed?  And what kind of workaround can be used?

    Hi,
Did the Lync Package to be the latest version from Microsoft Website?

  • "LabVIEW Runtime won't install"

    Hi Folks,
Am trying to install LVRT821 on a machine, but it refuses to show-up as installed list shown through \control-panel\Add-remove programs\National Instruments.
Machine had some NI stuff installed already and after first a couple of [unsuccessful] installs/restarts, began slowly removing current NI installations.
Am down to MAX and getting ready to install again (after a restart.)
OS is WinXP and I'm logged-in as an admin, running LVRT installer EXEs downloaded from NI today. (Have tried LVRT82 as well LVRT821.)
    Any ideas?
    Cheers!
Message Edited by bluesbros on 05-08-2009 03:08 PM

Problem "solved" by uninstalling all NI SW and deleting \Program Files\NI.
One thing I didn't notice initially -LVRT install indicated LVRT already installed (Leave as-is.)  Regardless, it was missing from Add/Remove Pgms (could not be repaired) and EXEs would not run.
    Cheers!

  • Install MAX with only LabVIEW runtime engine

    Hi,
I want to know if it is possible to install MAX from the Device Driver CD, when only LabVIEW RunTime engine is installed.  There is no full installation of LabVIEW on that PC.  That's MAX 3.1.1.3004 with LabVIEW RunTime Engine 7.1.
    Patrick.

    Dear Patrick,
The device driver CD usually does not have a single installation of MAX, but you can install MAX by installing most of the other drivers such as NI-DAQ, NI-488.2, NI-Serial, etc. MAX does not require LabVIEW, so you can have MAX and LabVIEW Run-Time without LabVIEW. Have a great day!
    Sincerely,

  • Installing Labview runtime engine 2011

    Hi,
Is it mandatory to uninstall any previous version of the Labview runtime engine before installing the 2011 verstion ?
    Thanks.

No, you should actutally keep the older runtime engine installed in case you still have applications that depend on it. The 2011 run time will only support applications built with LabVIEW 2011.

  • CIN (Code interface node) LabVIEW runtime engine dependency

    Hello:
Am I correct that the old style CIN (code interface node) is not dependent on what version of LabVIEW runtime engine is being used?
However if I create a dll  from say LabVIEW 8.2 I must then alway have LabVIEW runtime 8.2 installed on any newer machine with newer version of LabVIEW?
    Thank You!

    GE Osmonics wrote:
    Hello:
What I have are old CIN (no source) that work in LabVIEW7.1 but will not work in LabVIEW 2010 (link error, object code not loaded).
What I thought I could do is generate dll from the vi's that contain the CIN using LabVIEW 7.1 with application builder.
I could use the Call Library Function from LabVIEW 2010 to load the 7.1 generated dll  to effectively do what the old CIN accomplished
provided I installed the LabVIEW 7.1 runtime engine on my LabVIEW 2010 machine
    Thanks for the input
If the CIN resource doesn't load you most likely changed the LabVIEW platform. LabVIEW for Windows 32 Bit and LabVIEW for Windows 64 Bit are different platforms. Just as LabVIEW for Windows and LabVIEW for Macintosh or Linux. A 32 Bit DLL, which a CIN is internally can't be executed in a 64 Bit environment at all.
Your solution fails for more than one reason here. LabVIEW will try to load and link a LabVIEW DLL into its actual runtime environment to avoid interprocess communication latency which would be inavoidable if the DLL is started in a seperate runtime engine, which is in fact a new process. If your issue is 32 bit to 64 Bit you won't be able to link the 7.1 32 Bit DLL into your LabVIEW 64 Bit application through the Call Library Node at all.

  • Running Datasocket in labview 2013 open labview runtime engine 7.0

    Hello All,
I am trying to communicate with a COGNEX camera using Labview 2013. I am using Datasocket to read tags from cognex OPC server.
but when I open labview and run the code for the first time. An installer will automatically pop up trying to install labview runtime engine 7.0.
When i cancel the installation datasocket throws an error. Again if i run second time, datasocket works fine and communicate with cognex camera using OPC.
This problem comes everytime I open labview and run the datasocket. I cancel the installer. second time onwards when i run the code everything works fine.
This is actually annoying and i doubt how things will work when i make an executable.
    Need help.
Is this due to datasocket version installed... how to resolve this.

    Hi phil,
That is interesting that you were unable to find the offending key that the installation is having trouble with.  Do you have Administrator privileges on your computer? You may even want to try to log in as the actual Administrator itself to make sure that you have access to all of the proper registry keys.  Also, I was going to say that I do think you're right with Windows XP not having the Scanreg/fix function, but there are several free programs that you can download as registry checkers.  You may want to try one of those to see if you can find the key and give it the proper permission.
As far as the other part of your question, the Run-Time Engines are very important for LabVIEW to be able to run, but the 7.1.1 Run-Time Engine should not be affecting a LabVIEW 8.2 installation as it will use the 8.2 Run-Time Engine.  One thing that you can do is go into your Control Panel under Add or Remove Programs>>National Instruments Software and you can try and repair/modify your Run-Time Engine there.  If you already have the 7.1.1 Run-Time Engine on your computer, this is where it will show up so you can make any changes you want.  Also, if you go to www.ni.com and click on "Drivers and Updates" on the right, you will be able to find the Run-Time Engine there that you will need, but I would definitely try using a downloadable registry checker first before attempting to change any of the software that is currently on your computer.  As stated in the Knowledgebase article, this is actually an error from Windows saying that the registry key does not have the proper permission settings, so I am reluctant to say that downloading the new Run-Time Engine from our website will help much.  Please try some of these suggestions out and let me know how they work out for you. Thanks!

  • Installing of LabVIEW runtime is cause of InTouch can't find its licenses

    Hello All.
I need to run executable built with LabVIEW from Wonderware InTouch 2012 runtime. But If I install LabVIEW runtime to the target PC, InTouch runtime can't find its licenses and run in Demo mode only. When I uninstall LabVIEW runtime InTouch can find licenses again and operates in normal mode. Licences for InTouch consists of files on the hard drive and software protection dongle of unknown type, connected to USB port. I have tried LabVIEW runtime versions 2012, 2012f3 and 2013, installed from standalone distributions or with distribution of application built with LabVIEW, no differences. What can be cause of conflict? What can I try to do to run InTouch runtime and LabVIEW application simultaneously?

Host OS: Windows XP Professional 32-bit Russian

Have you verified if this behavior is present in other computers?
No, I have only 2 PCs for tests, both new and identical in hardware and software. I'm sure I will get same result on both.
Have you tried changing the port at which you connect the USB key?
    Yes.
Did you restart the computer after installing the LabVIEW RTE?
    Yes.
Have you tried installing the LabVIEW RTE before installing the Wonderware software?
    Yes.
Can you access other USB keys when you have the LabVIEW RTE install or does all USB communications fail?
I have another software protection dongle for InTouch. I've  tried it, it doesn't work too. USB in general is working (HID, USB flash drives, USB HDD).
Have you received any troubleshooting steps from Wonderware? Please let us know.
Wonderware support engineers sent me test license file which not require USB dongle. With this license file InTouch operates in normal mode when LVRT is installed. But it is impossible to use such license in production.

  • Office 2013 GPO Silent install doesn't run consistently

client is all Dell Win 7. Servers are 2012. Project is to install Office 2013 silently with GPO at computer start. Everything is configured correctly and it works on some computers. I set it install in a larger group by linking the GPO to that group of computers. Told everyone to reboot and waited. Nothing. It didn't install. I know it works because I haven't changed it and I have seenit work multiple times. Try another reboot. Nothing. Then one of them works. Then another. Then another. Not all at once and not always at reboot. Some of them just install in the middle of the day. Is this a "load balancing" feature where all of them are not installed at once so the server isn't overwhelmed? If not, why does it work sometimes and then at random times. The actual install doesn't take very long. Maybe my server doesn't have the horsepower...
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

I've not tried the Dashboard connection yet.
I will try to connect and setup permissions using TDADM.
    This is my thoughts etc. so far;
problem starts when running dpconfig.exe - therefore I can skip re-running (and 'repairing') the install using the MSI
dpconfig doesn't appear to have any command line options? (ran "dpconfig /?" from a command line and still just launched the wizard)
so far, even if permission are or get set correctly, processor hasn't been linked to the share yet - only dpconfig can do that?
had installed the Processor on Server 2012 in Core UI. Thought dpconfig might be trying to launch Explorer, which isn't available in Core, so went up to "Server with GUI" (bypassing "minimal"). However, this didn't change anything. Left at Server with GUI
for now (although would prefer to run as Core if supported - nothing says it isn't?)
by default, our server config blocks all Firewall ports incoming (the out of the box config) only opening up ports as required. I'll try turning the Processor Firewall off.
    Seems like not a lot of people do this (install the 2013 Telemetry), as very little online apart from Microsoft pages. Trying to dig through the Powershell script posted (by you Jill?) here;
http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_resource_kit/archive/2012/09/25/quickly-set-up-office-telemetry-dashboard-on-a-workgroup-or-domain-joined-computer.aspx . However, looks like even in this one that for domain joined machines, dpconfig is launched interactively,
so still no cmd line options!

  • Labview 8.6 Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime error while installing

I am installing Labview 8.6 on my laptop which is having Windows Vista Home premium edition.
When the installation begins an error occurs (after the acceptance of licence step in the installation procedure) with the title on the error window "Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library " and displays the program set up path with these statements " This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information."
I am unable to install it on my laptop. Can anybody please help me.
    Thank you

    hi
broadly the error could be because of two reasons:
    1. Runtime Engine exe file is corrupt in the CD you are using to install LabVIEW.
Solution: Download LabVIEW Runtime Engine 8.6 from http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1101/lang/en
    2. There's some problem with the windows installation in your PC.
    Solution: you know reinstall windows
But before trying to reinstall, make sure you installed the msi.dll using "Regsvr32 (system folder path)\msi.dll" . I'm sure you did.
    thanx

  • Can an ADT-packaged native installer install the AIR runtime in silent mode?

Silent installation of my app works fine when the runtime is installed, as follows:
    <path>\MyApp.exe -silent -location "\"C:\Program Files\MyApp\"" -desktopShortcut -programMenu
However, if the runtime is not installed, the invocation does nothing. I've also tried -eulaAccepted.
Is it possible to silently install the app, yet if the runtime is not installed, initiate the runtime install automatically from adobe, preferably with a eula prompt for the user?
Worst case, if the runtime must be bundled in the package, is a sidecar install supported for native installers?
I should note, I cannot package the app as .air. The app uses NativeProcess and bundles an exe.
    Thanks.

    Hi Dmitry,
Are you trying to sub launch AIR silently through your installer?  If so, and you haven't already, please fill out the AIR distribution agreement form and you'll receive documentation that discusses silent installs and uninstall's.
If you are just trying this out, you are correct that the runtime needs admin access.  You can achieve this by prefixing your command line with sudo.
    Thanks,
    Chris
Yes, but that not decide our task: create custom installer from air app native installer. I hope you understand that i mean. This installer should work for anyone user - and have to install Adobe AIR Runtime.

  • Silent install Air Runtime and Air App with custom installer?

I want to use a custom installer that will perform some actions, and then silently install air runtime and an air application. The goal here is to be able to perform a customized install for an Air application (for a user that might not have Air installed) without confusing the user with multiple install screens. Can I use a custom installer to silently install Air (if the user doesn't have it installed) and the Air app? If so, are there any restrictions on the custom installer? If there are any examples of this, please provide the links.

Since you applied for the distribution from Adobe you should
have received a link to a page where you can download what they
call the "side-car" installer. It's basically an installation
system they are making available to developers that can be easily
configured to deliver a bundled runtime and application
    installation for Mac and Windows.
Check your email again and see if you can't find a link in
there pointing you to a download page for the AIR runtime as well
as the aforementioned side-car installer. For those who don't know,
    here
is where you can apply for a redistribution permit for AIR.

The little test program is attached below. It's called dotNETHost.exe. If you excecute the programm a dialog with an button appears. The ZIP folder also contains the complete exception meassage (ExceptionMessange.jpg & ExceptionDetails.txt).
The Interop Assembly was built with LabVIEW 2011. We use Visual Studio 2010 and .NET 4.0.. The dotNETHost.exe.config file is prepared as mentioned in Knowledge base - Loading .NET 4.0 assemblies.
The Interop assembly contains only one simple dialog (loop is finished by clicking OK) without calling any other VIs or other DLL's.  In case of this there's also no support directory generated by the build process.
