Lacie finder.dat and resource.frk files

Sorry if this is not the place to post.
Recently I used my new lacie firewire drive to transfer files from my G4 to a PC laptop. Now the files on the Lacie (when I work on the G4) are missing their icons and their tag .ai, .m4a etc. and I can't open many of them. Some files will open via right click and choose the program.
In every folder there is now a finder.dat file and resource.frk
I read in a recent post about the finder.dat. And now understand the relationship to the PC. Although, this has never happened on my older Lacie drive.
Can I fix what I've done to my files? What is the Graphics Converter?
I do have all recent updates for the Lacie applied.

FINDER.DAT and RESOURCE.FRK would be the product of AppleDouble Format in other words files transfered from the HFS filesystem to a foreign filesystem. FINDER.DAT can be translated as finderinfo which can contain creator codes and file types. Most OS X application can do fine without this info. RESOURCE.FRK is the resource fork. Both the finderinfo and resource fork have been split from the data fork- I see no use for this info since I can't think of a way to rejoin this info with the data fork. Wait and see if someone has another opinion before removing the files.

I notice that I still have FINDER.DAT in my Documents, as well as RESOURCE.FRK. The latter appear to be folders containing old documents in a format I no longer use. If I am able to open them, can I convert them to the iWork formats that I now use and then safely delete FINDER.DAT and RESOURCE.FRK where they appear in my folders and subfolders?

Obviously it is not OS9 to blame but the way you copied the files from the OS9 Mac. Did you use some non-Mac filessystem to store the files in some step? If yes, then it was that step that disassembled the data+resource fork file into an Apple Double format with separate files.
Now, stripping the resource for off is usually OK IF you are handling pure cross-platform data files (.doc, .jpg, .dv etc). The Mac apps sometimes store some info in the resource fork but usually it is not important and can be re-created (preview thumbnails etc).
But some files like applications will corrupt if the lose their resource fork, even into a separate file.
So: it is best to use Mac-formatted volumes (a Mac share on a Windows network works too) to move Mac specific files. Another option is to wrap them into a container that will protect them in a non-Mac formatted volume. Compressing them with Mac utilities to a .sit, .sitx, .zip etc file does that. Mac OS X compresses .zip files with the resource fork intact.

Illustrator is not working as it should...
I want them to compare the original size and date of creation with what I have installed on my computer... I have installed several times with my original CD and I tried once downloading the files from the adobe site (using my own license). I suspect the files has been modified or renamed on my laptop by an external unauthorized user causing the malfunction of the application.
Customer services does not support CS3 anymore and the updates / patches in the adobe site does not solve the problem... They redirect me to the forums for support...
Presently, my problem is that after creating a swatch and drag it to the swatch panel, it does not fill as it should a new form... Now, after deactivating and activating my license the swatch seems to fill the new form but when the filter that the swatch has is persistence in the next filling object created even though a different color is being used as a fill (X)... Help in the creation of a swatch over the internet just complicate the issue.
That's why I would like to know whether updates on my product are being received or files are being replaced without my knowledge...

For the installer log file, search for Sun_Java_Studio_Enterprise_6_2004Q1_install, or some portion of that.
To find Java ES component product log files, search on Sun_ONE.
You can also search for the timestamp that is part of each log file name. It is of the format MMddhhmm (Month/day/hour/minute)
Refer also to the Troubleshooting chapter of the Installation Guide for additional details on reports and log files used by Java SE

Is there any way by which we can find out the date and time of the file created in operating system using file handling through PL/SQL.
Eg:-
I have a directory in which I am storing some files, and for a given file name I must know when that file was created, i mean date and time.

Not able to view data and song folders/files in my ipod

Hi All,
I have a 30 GB Video iPod which I have been using since the past 6 odd months. Recently, my iPod was infected with a virus. I managed to clean up the virus but since then I am not able to view the data and song files or folders stored in the iPod. I can only view a hidden folder with the name 'astry' and when I double click on it nothing is visible. I tried some freewares available for data recovery but they just scan the iPod and tell that so many number of files are available. But for retrieving them I will have to buy the software.
Has anyone faced similar project? Does anyone knows any solution to this problem?

First be more clear about Aria Application. As Aria, is been related to an hrms part of an organization carrying the people infomation and it has some separate features too.
But in your prespective i couldnt able to understand what do you want to do with that packeged application.
Since you want to customize the aria application according to your organization needs means, First collect all your necessary organization information that is needed(like tables etc.). Then substitute those (i.e) your organization tables in the appropriate places in the form of query.
Please dont use the same Aria people table, as the Oracle may framed according to their employee information. Nearly Aria application has 200 supporting objects. If you want to use the same objects means whether u r going to creating nearly 200 supporting objects..It is not worth at all.
Please be more clear in your requirement that, what you are doing, and then raise the question. Be more prepared with your tables along with datas, and let give your reply once you were been prepared with your organization details table.

I saw your post today.
Moving the hosts file to the desktop will make it part of a roaming profile? That's means that activation will occur from any computer that are part and available of my microsoft local network. How can I make sure that the program I access is the one located on my local C drive and not in a roaming profile in maybe a cloud environment or from an unknown equipment with access to my network without authorization. I have only 1 laptop where I install locally the CS3 suit
My host file has not entries on it and even when trying to copy to the desktop the activation can not be completed, same problem. Days ago I used the trial option instead of the activation, after trying to activate the whole product as you mentioned in your reply, the trial period remaining got back to the original 30 days.
I have recently noticed that I have a roaming profile with a workspace file different to the one I have on my local disk (3 files basic, panel and type). On the roaming profile I see a directory for adobe illustrator CS3 settings \ workspaces \ AIWSPrefs file which has different entries than the one I have at the local drive. Normally I do not customize a lot the workspace or safe the setting used, I load the brushes, swatches, etc manually from the location they are on my local drive so the swatches and brushes directories on the roaming profile are empty instead. Adobe Eureka and Kuler palettes exists on the basic local file not in the roaming one.
The directories on my roaming profile are:

How to rename a flat file concatenating date and time the file name?

I created a package where I run a first interface that uses a flat file from a server and load into a table in Teradata.
After using the API OdiFtpPut, I used an FTP file and send to an outfit.
Since this procedure will operate daily, I need at the time of FTP, get the concatenation destination file name, date and time of execution.
What is the best practice for this?

Using OdiFtpPut in the field where it informs the destination file name, instead of putting just the file name (lpn_pln.csv), I put as follows:
- lp_pln_+<% = odiRef.getSysDate (ddMMyyyyhhmm ")%>+. csv
For code example, today would record the name lp_pln310120111412.csv

How to check image GPS data and get image file from image field

I have some trouble and want to fix this problem.
1. I want to validate image file before its attached in image field about the image file have a GPS data or not. Have any way that can be check about image has contained a GPS data?
2. After validate image and PDF form is upload to the server. I want to get image file that embed in image field, because I have to extract image from PDF form and store this image in project image folder. If this topic can be fix by code script please give me some example code.

About my (1) question, My image fields have set to be a embedded data and I try to test many example script of image fields.I can get image content type, image size. But that not work when I used ImageField1.desc.embeddedHref.value. It's response as "Unknown Embedded URI". Therefore, image field is and embedded data. How can I access filename?
(2) In that forum. As I see, his problem is about how to automate change image field with href image file. But I want to extract an exist embedded image in PDF form to normal image file with original metada (such as extract image filed to .JPEG with GPS data. Same as before attached in PDF form.). There has any concept or solution in this problem?

Where do i find form and action java files

I was trying to add a new menuitem to the web console. I have a jsp page like pag1.jsp and has pageForm and pageAction java file. Inside struct.config file I find that form and action files are placed under"com.thortech.xl.webclient.actions.tcAddCommentForm" , but when I search for the tcAddCommentForm, I coundn't find the file. Just what to you mean? The Info pane for the iPod in iTunes allows you to sync the iPod contacts and calendar with other calendars and contacts. There is no contacts or calendar in iTunes.

As you most likely kwow, I've been told that only Lion will allow one to use the cloud to share music, contacts, photos, and etc. between one's phone, iPad, and computer. Let's say I have 4000 photos on my desktop; and I don't wish to see all them on my other devices. Can I choose only the ones I need by connecting the iphone to the pc or iPad by using iTunes- or should I drag and drop all contacts,etc. that I wish to put in icloud - or should I use my drop box for all or some files? For instance, none of my iPhone phone number contacts came with there existing email addresses. I should say that I have many contacts and songs on an older version - leopard that is not compatible with iCloud. What would do?

Having played around more with PadSync, I find that I can drag files into PadSync (which then sync to the iPad), but when a revised version is synced back to PadSync, I can double click the icon to open the file in the mac's native application, but I can't drag the file out to a destination folder or use any other means of getting it out of PadSync.
Am I missing something?
---- ah, I found the way. I was looking at the files in PadSync using icon view. When I switched to list view, I can then drag files out of PadSync. Funny, I can't drag files out using icon view.

The date and time of files created and saved are off

I notice that under the date modified column, files that I have saved or updated are usually a day off. I checked the date and time in the system preferences and it is correct. is something wrong with the battery?

Be sure the Time Zone setting is correct.
If you have time displayed as 12-hour (rather than 24-hour), be sure the AM/PM setting is correct. Having that wrong will displace the mod/create date/time recorded for a file by 12 hours, which will (at times) shift it to another day.
If you use Classic, make sure the same settings are in Classic as well as in OSX, particularly the Time Zone setting. This is especially true for machines which can be and are booted into OS 9. The typical symptom for this being the cause is an offset of one or a few hours.

Merge data and a PDF file?

I´m trying to render/merge data into a PDF file using FormServer (7.0) and .NET. I notice that if I use the xdp version of the pdf, FormServer will return a pdf with the merged data. However, I cannot acomplish this if instead of a xdp file document I use a pdf file (dynamic 7.0 created with livecycle designer 8).
This works:
String sFormPreference = "PDFForm";
String sFormQuery = "ExpenseClaim.xdp";
This doesn´t woks:
String sFormPreference = "PDFForm";
String sFormQuery = "ExpenseClaim.pdf";
Isn´t it possible to merge data directly into a PDF using FormServer. I rather use a pdf file instead of a xdp file, because, a xdp file will need to be converted to a PDF file. Thus it will spent more time accomplishing the merge.
