Web Services Connector for JMX available
We are glad to announce that the Reference Implementation of our Web-Services Connector for JMX Agents, being defined by JSR 262, is available in Early Access on http://ws-jmx-connector.dev.java.net/. This major milestone is aligned with the second Early Draft Review of the Specification in the Java Community Process.
The WS-Connector for JMX is based on the WS-Management protocol, defined by the DMTF. Its greatest benefit is to provide interoperability between a variety of client applications compliant with this standard, including those not based on the Java platform, and any JMX-based instrumentation.
This week, at JavaOne, we will demonstrate examples of this interoperability on stage during the technical session "TS 2656 - JMX Technology: Who's Doing What". We will show in particular how Windows Vista's management tools can use the JVM telemetry instrumentation. Join Eamonn McManus and Jean-Francois Denise, or watch their blogs, for more details on this.
We encourage you to use and provide feedback on the WS-Connector RI early access, which is fully functional and, we believe, already pretty stable.
Note that our implementation of the WS-Management protocol is based on the Wiseman open source project, which lives at http://wiseman.dev.java.net/.

The lack of details and customer service.
After less than one month of ownership, my Ideapad K1 power button broke. After talking to a customer service rep (K). She informed me it will have to be returned to Lenovo for repair, which will take about 7 to 10 business days from time of delivery. I asked to speak to a supervisor at which point she puts me on hold and then comes back on the line to tell me the supervisor stated the same thing. At no point did I ask her to confirm this with the supervisor. I asked again to speak to her supervisor, to which she puts me on hold again. The supervisor (R) comes on the line to tell me that the Ideapad K1 will have to be returned for repair. He then transfers me back to K to finalize the return, to which she now informs me I will have to pay for shipping. This is very poor customer service in my view. I will never buy another Lenovo product as long as I live and would advise every one I meet not to buy one either. I was looking at their high end laptops for my corporate deployment, its a shame. Maybe I will be going with DELL as they will send a Tech to my house to perform repairs. I do hope that all customer calls are recorded as I believe someone needs to listen to the lack of professionalism and customer service that both K and R display.
Note from Moderator: Employee name/e-mail/phone removed to protect their privacy per the forum rules.Hi i had the excact same thing i got the k1 for christmas and now its january and the power button doesnt work ..i never dropped it always put it in its case and there is not a dam scratch on the thing least they could do is pay for shipping there defective product back to them so it can be fixed

Connect to SharePoint web service using the XML / Web Service connector
Hi experts,
I am currently trying to display my SharePoint list in Crystal Report. Therefore my plan is to use a SharePoint web service to get the data and paste them to the Crystal Report.
Is it possible to use the "XML and Web services" connector of the Crystal Reports database expert?
When I enter the web service URL, for instance:
https://[url]/_vti_bin/lists.asmx?wsdl
and click next... I have to enter the web service credentials.
On the next page I have to enter Service, Port and Method.
Do I have to enter the service URL again here?
What If, there is no port? Can I leave that field empty?
I know the methods, but where can I add the mandatory parameters?
Thanks for any helps and comments!
SebastianHi Ananth,
thank you, but this document does not help at all.
We are using Crystal Reports 2008 SP2.
We want to use the Web Service Connector.
What I need is more informationen about the Web service connect. For example - the connection in Microsoft InfoPath is much easier - there I don't have to enter a port and can choose the methods from a list.
Is it possible to use the Crystal web service connector for MS SharePoint Webservices?
Or must I use the Crystal SDK to carry out a connection?
Best regards,
Sebastian -
Hello
I'am trying to implement a web service connector for custom application with "Web Service Configuration Tool"
Is there someone who has implemented something like that for a custom web service ?
ThanksCan you give more details? What have you tried? What problems are you encountering?

When is the SharePoint WebDAV Connector release date?
Hello,
there has been a lot of buzz* around the "The SharePoint WebDAV Connector for SAP Enterprise Portal". Does anyone know when this is going to be released?
*Amongst other mentioned in +"Interoperability between SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 and Windows SharePoint Services
Version 1.0, September 2005"+ and various threads here on SDN.
Regards,
JørgenHi all,
the WSS WebDAV Connector (aka "SharePoint WebDAV Connector, SWC) was released some days ago and a new Interoperability Section on Microsoft-sap.com is now live.
See http://www.microsoft-sap.com/technology.aspx --> SAP Enterprise Portal (EP) for the WSS WebDAV Connector.

SAP Web Services Connector specifications
Hi,
First of all, I have to say that I do not know about web services, so I'm sorry if this question is not clear.
I am implementing Web Services connector for SAP.
I ask the Customer to configure SAP endpoint (I give the documents downloaded from Microsoft Web), but they say that this information is not complete.
They ask me for a "functional specification" for the endpoint indicating what FIM connector send and what FIM connector expected.
Is there information about these specification (besides docs with Connector).
Thanks
JuanCC Technology SpecialistHi Juan
I have implemented a few of FIM projects with SAP SOA and FIM Web Services Connector.
Well a function specification is just a statement what FIM will do using those web services so it should be straight forward. If you are creating SAP Users and/or assigning Roles to them it should be stated.
As far as what BAPI functions that would be required to do this depends on your scenario. If you could give a brief of what your scenario is i can provide you with a list of BAPI functions in SAP that those guys need to expose as a web service.
The EndPoint needs to be created using SAP Trans Code: SOAManager, and the authentication scheme should be http:basic
The document what Microsoft provides is usually enough for the SAP technical guys.
some of the functions for SAP User are:
BAPI_USER_CREATE
BAPI_USER_CREATE1
BAPI_USER_GETLIST
BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL
BAPI_USER_EXISTANCE_CHECK
RH_ACTGROUP_INDEX_GET (for getting all the roles in SAP)

ISSUE Sharepoint 2013 databases for reporting services on the second server SQL 2012
Hello,
I have server A: Operating system windows 2012 standard, SQL server 2012 standard
instance: Sharepoint contains data for sharepint
instance: Reporting should be contain databases for reporting
Server B:
Windows server 2012 standard contains installation Sharepoint 2013
Sharepoint works (without reporting services), it is OK - databases are located on server A:
My issue is:
When I have installed reporting services on server B, I have already installed SQL server 2012 on server B, it works.
I am able to create report in report builder adn place it in to sharepoint.
But I would like to use only one full SQL machine on server A:
When I reconfigure repoting settings on server A in central administration - manage service aplications,
On the SQL server A in instance reporting , there is automatically created databases. It is no problem.
But the first difference is, when I want to manage service aplication for reporting in
Provision Subscriptions and Alerts, there is information
SQL Server Agent state cannot be determined
When I want to create report in report builder, I have issue:
server A-7380mw016\reporting it means server A with full SQL server:
The Test of connection was successful
Then I have clicked test connection
I have recieved this screen with fail: Logon faild for user NT Authority\anonymous logon
My account belongs to SQL admin on server A (A-7380mw016\reporting) I do not know it is not possible to create report, when it is possible to test connection in the first step and in the second step, there is problem...
Please, can somebody help me?Hi,
Since you are getting an Anonymous Logon error, it appears there may be a problem passing your credentials to the SQL Server Agent Service. This would indicate a Kerberos issue. See this thread for details:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/46b7c773-6a77-435d-b471-cb9a6ec41c43/has-anyone-else-upgraded-reporting-services-to-denali-2012
Microsoft Virtual Academy: Breakthrough Insights using SQL Server 2012 : Analysis Services and Credible, Consistent data (Module 2) - Configuring and Securing Complex BI Applications in a SharePoint 2010 Environment with Microsoft SQL Server 2012
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/video/Video/hh858469
Tips from the video:
We are connecting to Reporting services using Kerberos when using Reporting Services in SharePoint integrated mode
For the account using reporting services, we just need a dummy SPN. We go to Attribute editor tab in AD for RS account. And then we will be enabled with Delegation tab.
In Delegation tab. I we are using claims to windows token, we need to use "Trust this user for delegation to specified services only"
There you have 2 options: "Use Kerberos only": It means I only want to delegate in the situation where the service that is doing the delegation actually has the Kerberos ticket to start with
"Use any authentication protocol" When we need protocol transition (like from NTLM to claims for intra farm communication)
We need to delegate this to SQL server.

Trouble with database connector for FAST for Sharepoint
I have plenty of experience with the JDBC connector for FAST ESP using Oracle, but this is the first experience I have with the same connector for FAST for Sharepoint (F4SP). I've created the XML config exactly to specs based on the technet guides
and configured my user accounts on the SQL Server appropriately. I'm using SQL Server 2008 R2.
If I try to use a Windows account, no level of access granted on the SQL Server results in a successful login. Any attempt to use the connector is met with "Login failed for user: domain\username". If I try a SQL Server account, I no longer
see a login failure, but this instead:
PS C:\FASTSearch\bin> jdbcconnector start -f ..\etc\DTtest.xml

14:45:00,620 ERROR [JDBCConnector] Caused by: No suitable driver found for ;integratedSecurity=true
14:45:00,620 INFO [JDBCConnector] Connection made to target system
TCP/IP is certainly enabled for SQL Server -- I am connecting to it with Sharepoint 2010, not to mention a test install of Toad Freeware for SQL Server from another machine, resulting in no errors. My connection string, username and password are all
set up according to the technet guide, including the encrypted password set by the encryption utility run the in F4SP Powershell. The same user who runs the connector also ran the encryption tool, so that should not be a problem either.
I've never had this kind of trouble connecting to Oracle databases with the JDBC connector for FAST ESP. Any suggestions? These failures aren't exactly helpful to me. Thanks in advance.I found the solution to this problem in case anyone else was still curious.
This was caused not by JDBC settings, permissions/access on SQL Server, etc. It was caused simply by a missing SQL Server in F4SP configuration. When you run the F4SP config wizard, either as single-node or multi-node installations, the wizard
might end up ignoring the value you select for SQL Server, even if you are using a deployment XML file. When configuring as a multi-node setup, the wizard ignored both my deployment XML tag <connector-databaseconnectionstring> and the SQL Server
setting done manually in the wizard itself. Examing the evidence, I suspect this was caused by corrupt installation media (since the installer also failed to create some core files in /etc upon doing a reinstall).
The bottom line is that you must see a value for SQL Server in your install_info.txt file in order for the JDBC connector to work with SQL Server, like this:
Other services
Log Server: myserver.mydomain.com:13415
SQL Server database: jdbc:sqlserver://myserver.mydomain.com;DatabaseName=FASTSearchAdminDatabase;integratedSecurity=true
If you see this instead, the connector will never work:
So, the JDBC connector is certainly dependent on the main configuration of F4SP, regardless of what SQL Server is targeted in your connector's XML configuration.
Other services
Log Server: myserver.mydomain.com:13415
SQL Server database:
;integratedSecurity=true
I had no idea there was a connection between my install_info setup and the use of the JDBC connector. But, the connection makes sense considering this was the error message from the JDBC connector:
09:20:04,016 ERROR [JDBCConnector] Caused by: No suitable driver found for ;integratedSecurity=true -
Hi All,
I am using SharePoint List Connectors to load the data from Sharepoint list to Sql server.
I have created an ssis package and attached to the SQL agent job in works fine
SharePoint Source dev url : http://company.dev.com (working fine)(http)
DB server:(server\instance)
I thought all i good and can test with the uat sharepoint url.
I have changed the configuration url yo point to uat.(https)
SharePoint Source dev url : https://companyuat.dev.com (working fine)
DB server:(server\instance)
Suddently it fails when with the following error:
In both the cases i am running the agent job from the same db server

RaviThis is the important error: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
Your SharePoint server certificate is invalid. You have to either correct your certificate or make your SSIS client machine explicitly trust the server certificate.

Is one application pool preferred for all sharepoint service applications(
is one application pool preferred for all SharePoint service applications ?
I have a three-tier architected SP 2013 small farm (NLT, 2 wfe, 1 app server, 1 db server). All services will be use (Secure Store,Service Application, Managed Metadata Service Application, Search Service Application,User Profile Service Application,App
Management Service Application,Workflow Manager,Excel Service Application,BI Reporting Service Application,Power Pivot Service,Performance Point,Visio Services,BCS Service application)
I am unclear on the following:
which servers should host which service ? and why ?
Is one application pool account preferred for all SP service Applications ? if not which service applications should be logically group ? and why ?Creating additional application pools requires more RAM memory. About 100-150 MB per app pool. But it also keeps things happening in one app pool from affecting another. So normally you create additional app pools when you want to maintain
higher service levels on one component versus another. For example. Let's assume that your service levels designate that you could survive a 3 hour outage of Search but that Managed metadata must be constantly available with minimal downtime. Then
you would put Search and MMS in separate App Pools. Otherwise there is no real advantage to splitting them up.
Services that are accessed directly by user request, like Search Query, Managed metadata, user profile should go on the Web Front ends. Services that process heavier intermittent loads are normally placed on a dedicated application server to keep them
from affecting overall performance, for example Excel Services. But its more of an art form rather than a science and depends a lot on your performance needs, your hardware, and your usage.
