Lack of direction from Creative - bought other
I own a Creative Zen Touch and owned Muvo TX FM.
I am going to give the Touch away and I returned the TX FM as the volume would only turn up and not down.
I was in the market to buy two additional MP3 players, but due to lack of direction and returning merchandise they will not be from Creative. I was really excitied when I bought my Touch late last year with the promise to have the firmware updated. There is no reason to explain this as it has been well played out in these forums. I felt Creative had a solid product, but with all the replacements being announced and no update on promised firmware (or promised dates coming and going) I feel it is time to change products.
I will be giving my money to your competitors, voting with my wallet. Also if anyone asks my about Mp3 players in the future my opinion will be negati've toward Creative products.
While I may or may not be the majority of the people who would buy future products from Creative, does not matter to me. I am merely disclosing my disappointment with your company in hopes you consider them. While the Touch is a sound player; lack of direction and updates (verbal or firmware) has helped me make the decision that Creative is not a company worth me finically supporting anymore.
I understand this is site is not for "how great my player is working" and I am not basing my decision of off the negati've posts. Rather I am concluding with product I own and had to return (Muvo TX FM) and coming to this area every couple weeks looking for the firmware update. I have not seen the update but several players that Creative is competiting in the same area.
I understand that some of these players are in certain areas only, but this is a test market approach. Since they are test-marketing units that would replace the Touch then they are using their resources to make those products. Most companies firmware programming departments are small and can only work on a few prioritites at a time. Developing new players uses the resources to develop or fix exisiting firmware.
Since the company is showing signs of not supporting their existing product I bought, I am not willing to chance they will support a follow on later. I will look into a company that is supporting new and old product.
I have not made a 00% decision on a new player, but I am looking at RCA, iRi'ver, and audiovox. The sad thing is if iPod would ever go to a Janus DRM I would buy from them in a heart-beat.

Help from Creative or other crafty users of Audigy SE ca
The latest driver that was released for the Audigy SE still doesn't let my card work at it's complete capability. I use a program called ventrilo which uses a sound card to much of it's potential but I am unable to do so since there has been no driver that is 00% for it. Also, I would like my software that came with the Audigy SE to work properly....it too has not been given an update. So if someone knows how to make these things work 00% or if you can tell if Creative is working on an update for the driver and programs for the Audigy SE...that would be fantastic. Thanks.
Does the cable from the MB to the front I/O panel simuliar to this one? I installed a Audigy2 ZS in my other system and connected the black cable with the 0 pin connector to the card to use my front phone/mike jacks. Also in your device manager I see the Realtek AC97 still listed. When I installed the XM card in my 600 I disabled it in the BIOS so the entry does not show up in mine just the SB XF-I is displayed.

Why do I have other people I cloud on a brand new iPad bought direct from Apple

i bought my husband a new ipad direct from Apple and when we go to set it up it has 2 other peoples iCloud details on it. We don't know who they are and considering its brand new it doesn't make any sense. Has anyone else had this issue? if so how did you resolve it please. I have tried to get in contact with my supposed contact person at Apple but he has not replied. When I ordered them he told me to contact him for support

When I synch my phone or other devices to itunes, I get a message that the following songs could not be synched to itunes because the file could not be converted. However, these are songs that I bought directly from Itunes. Any suggestions?

I understand that you are not able to sync a few songs you purchased from iTunes to your iPhone and other devices. There may be an issue with the file, but if you have the Apple ID and password used to purchase the songs, you can redownload them. You can even download the song directly to your iPhone. I found an article that will give you steps to do this on your computer and on your iPhone:

How do I unlock apple iphone bought direct from apple
I bought my iphone 6 direct from Apple, however this was locked onto AT&T since the unlocked version was not available from apple at time of purchase - I asked AT&T if they had to unlock the iphone for me and they said NO since I bought the phone directly from Apple - please clarify how I can have my iphone unlocked as I would like to insert a UK card when I travel to UK and then reinsert by US card when back in america.

Only AT&T is authorized to unlock the phone but you will have to meet their requirements, generally you would need to have service with them prior to them agreeing to unlock your phone.
Return the phone if you can and see if the Apple store is selling any unlock ones.
As of right now you won't be able to use the phone unless you activate it thru AT&T. -
Why do all my other Apple devices not care if the movie I rented from iTunes if it was downloaded directly to that device or not, but the stupid Apple TV won't allow you to play rented movies unless you rented it directly from the Apple TV?
Great, so now I have to airplay it by linking my computer to my Apple TV and then the movie has to buffer! So, all that time I spent downloading the HD video has to technically "download" again by buffering. The more I use Apple TV, the more I feel like this item was not created by Apple. I don't even use it for what I originally purchased it for. If I would have known that anytime I wanted to sync a movie from my computer to Apple TV by using airplay that it would have to buffer the movie, I would have never ever ever ever ever purchased this waste of time device. So the video has to technically play all the way through one time first so Apple TV can "remember" the movie to play it back in real time afterwards.
Am I missing something here? Am I doing something wrong that can be fixing my problem? I should have known that the Apple TV had so many things backwards when simple things like when you are using the remote and you reach the bottom of your list, in order to cycle back to the top of your list you have then press the directional buton back the other way rather than most modern day devices that will automatically cycle you back to the top or to the other side when you reached the bottom or end but keep on pressing the button. That **** annoys me when I am doing a search for a movie and have to type the name in manually and have to cycle back and forth to the letters. It makes me feel like I am using a rotary phone or something!I was told by someone to try and purchase something directly from my Apple TV and that will help authorize my Apple TV. So I picked something that was free and it downloaded.
Then I went back to the Movie that would not work and it played just fine.
So it seemed to work. I will have to try it on other movies and TV shows later. -
I can't seem to print directly from apps like the new York times. Print is not an option from the pulldown menu. Print to my hp printer works fine from safari and email though and from some other apps. Do some apps not permit printing? That doesn't right.

Standard behavior is that Airprint always works with iBooks, Mail, Photos, and Safari. Apps are up to their author.

At this time, unless I've missed something recently, you cannot. You can load an iBook onto multiple iPads if these are all owned by your household though (you can't give an iBook to a friend, for instance, or a relative that lives elsewhere).
If the ability to lend books is important to you, you may wish to purchase Kindle books from Amazon, though you'll want to confirm that the book has lending enabled - not all do - and that the Kindle app for iOS supports lending.
This is one of the several advantages of physical books; the ability to loan them out or give them to someone else. Whether the book publishers will ever allow similar unfettered handling of electronic books is unknown, though I'd guess they'll be dragged to it kicking and screaming.

You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
To respond to some of the points you made,
- I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
- you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
- all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..

Because of that many people are using Picasa because you can download a plugin for it and then with this plugin you can upload photos to flickr directly from picasa. Please make it also possible in Adobe Bridge.

Itunes is unable to locate original file when attempting to play music. Songs are in the itunes media file and playable direct from there. Preferences/Advanced file location pointer is correct. Some songs play but most don't. I did move files around a bit in an attempt to share music with another account on same computor, however this did not work so have returned file to original location. Please help, I am way outside my feild in this one. Ta.
I have solved the problem. i think when I moved the media file back out of public to my account, I put it back into the wrong place and ended up with a media file inside a media file, inside another media file!! So I moved it again and fixed!! Now I just need to work out why i can't share with another account user of same computor.

I have a mid 12' macbook pro and I want to upgrade it from 4 gigs to 8 gigs, and I have seen ram advertised on amazon for half the price that apple charges for it's ram. Is this other ram just as good, will I experience any problems? I really want to add ram, I added 4 gigs to my iMac and it has boosted it's performance quite well. Please help.

I recently bought the individual version of Lightroom. I did not get the creative cloud version. I was wondering if I am able to import my pictures directly from the creative cloud into Lightroom. I am a creative cloud free subscriber and I have Lightroom 4. I see that you can import from revel but I don't see an option for creative cloud. Will I have to get the creative cloud version in order to import?
No, you have to import your photos into Lr from wherever they are, on your hard drive, or on memory card.
Note: Photos are not in any way in Lightroom. The word "import" makes many beginners think that Lr somehow ingests the photos.
Photos are on the hard drive, and Lr builds a database for the imported photos. This database is called the catalog. This process of building the database is called "import".
The fact that previously you had imported the phots in the cloud version doesn't change that. Since photos are not in Lr, you cannot transfer them from one version to the other. -

Maybe you guys already know this, but I didn't.
I was shopping around for a micro and came across two different product numbers of apparently the same item (this was on Amazon). One of the numbers went with the limited edition box, which came with extra accesories, and the newer one, came with just the bare necessities.
As odd as it may seem, the newer one was cost more, even though its MSRP is lower than the Limited Edition. Here is the email transcript:

I noticed some things that were different from my first micro (bought in january 2005)
- the hole player seems to be a liitle more "solid"
- and its very "hard" to turn the micro on and plug in my headphones, so the jack seems to be reinforced! But you can see still these huge gaps around the jack. Hmm I'll se...
+ the the battery cover ( I don't know the english word for it ) is a bit harder to close and not as loose as before! (theres a little *clicking* sound when you close it...

Adding to the play count number
Is there a way to add to the playcount without: playing the song and clicking the end of the timeline bar and repeating? I like to keep the playcount, espcially when getting rid of duplicate songs.
