Lack of Documentation for SoundBlaster Live External 24-

Hello,?I purchased the SoundBlaster Li've External 24-Bit card so I could load?soundfonts?and play?midi files. I could find no instructions anywhere on to how to load soundfonts into the card. After struggling many?days looking thru the .exe files, I happened to stumble on the SFBM (Soundfont Bank Manager) Graphic?Equalizer and EAX modules which I was able thru trial and error to finally get?working.Did I miss something somewhere or why is there no mention in Help about these modules or anywhere else I looked? For a "newbie" like myself it would have been nice if there was a help topic?on "how to load soundfonts into your SoundBlaster". Thanks,?dalester?

Anyone with an insight with WHY it was made with USB .

  • Screeching sounds in games and other problems with Soundblaster live extern

Okay i have the USB external Creative soundblaster li've sound card. i have had a few problems. My first problem is When im in games such as Americas Army i get random Screeches like a tin can being scraped on concrete. My 2nd problem is Talking with my mic. For others to hear me MONITORING has to be enabled, there for i hear myself out of my own speakers as well. I have done everything to try and fix this, i've tried updating drivers, rolling back drivers, using windows automatic drivers. Is there an option i dont see that is causing my card to not sound good? I am using a 2.0 speaker configuration, and i only play the games with headphones on.
    please help.
thanks for your time.Message Edited by Zombeh on 0-6-2006 08:30 AM

You waited 24 hours and gave up? So I'll offer this for anybody else who reads the thread. I have a USB external SB card, but it's in a box somewhere. But IIRC, the Volume Controls work similar to other SB cards. In Volume Controls, Playback, mute the Microphone. In Volume Controls, Recording, select Microphone. This should let you "record" without hearing it on your speakers. Now if a game sets the mixer options for itself, that complicates things. If allowed, choose game audio options similar to these Volume Controls.

  • Connecting Soundblaster Live External to Powered Studio Monit

I want to see what my?some currently unused?studio monitors sound like with my Itunes/Laptop/Soundblaster
setup. How do I get a signal from the Soundblaster to the studio monitor inputs? The outputs of the Soundblaster areigital
    ?SPDF RCA out
    ?Optical Out
    Analog
    ??Mini-plug labeled "Front"
    ??Mini-plug labeled "C/SUB"
??Mini-plug labeled "Rear"The KRK V6 powered studio monitors?have /4 inch phone plugs - the sort of plug you would use to plug in a guitar.
They are labeled "0K ohms"I have tried a Y-cable that has a mini-plug on the Soundblaster end and /4 inch phone plugs
on the speaker side. No sound. Can someone explain why?At this point I want to spend as little money as possible, but I do care about quality sound. Many thanks for any help.

Just get a /8 to RCA cable for the card and two Mono /4 jacks to RCA adapters for the speakers? If you use the mono jacks the negati've signal will be grounded and shunted with the negati've signal and so it works. Wenn You said the signal was crystal clear ... you actually connected the left to the positi've input and right to the negati've input, unless You used mono jacks and in that case unbalancing was performed, but the right signal was shorted... but the card can handle this short.

  • Speakers for soundblaster live 24

i`ve just installed creative soundblaster li've 24bit soundcard, could you tell me the best 7. speakers to buy with this soundcard. I`ve been looking at the creative inspire T7900 7. speakers are these compatable with the soundcard above.

    bluenelly67,
Those speakers are compatible and are very good (especially for the price). The best 7. speakers we have would be the Gigaworks S750, but they are aimed at the higher end audio cards like the Audigy 2 ZS. They would work with the Li've! 24bit, but the feature set on the card really matches better with one of the Inspire 7. speaker sets.

  • No Support for SoundBlaster Live! Platinum

I own a SoundBlaster Li've! Platinum 5. and recently discovered that it is the only piece of hardware not supported by Creative on Windows Vista (No Intended Development).
It's Top product has no intended development for Vista. However, even the much cheaper SoundBlaster Surrond 5. has intended development. Am I missing something here?
I replaced my old Windows XP Pro with the newer Windows Vista. All the hardware components of my PC have available for download, drivers and or software for Windows Vista, All but one, the most expensi've component, my much loved SoundBlaster Li've! Platinum 5..
I am not complaining about the quality of the product, as I like to reinforce is outstanding. I am a music lover, which is the reason why I bought the SoundBlaster Li've! Platinum 5.. With the Li've! interface, I can connect all my analog equipment (VHS, Tape deck and Turntable) as well as use the remote control to control the PC. I changed the batteries of the remote last month, for the first time since I bought the PC. Impressi've, as most makers just use cheaper batteries which only last a month or so.
My PC is only 3 years old. A P4 3Ghz with dual channel ram is still a fast machine.
The Radeon 9600 graphics card is supported, The Leadtek Digital tv tuner is supported, Even the cheaper onboard sound (Realtek 7.), which I never use, is supported.
Since this SoundBlaster Li've! Platinum 5. was the most expensi've of all SoundBlaster models, it does not seem right that Creative only supports the cheaper, everyday models.
It does send the wrong message to consumers. I tells the consumer not to buy Creative's expensi've models and instead buy the cheaper models. Am I the only customer with this problem?
Every single owner of this great model won't be able to update their machines to Windows Vista. Please Support this great model, Creative's own Rolls-Royce.

I did not use the files available for download from this site. The original disks that came with my boards contained software for Windows 2000.When I upgraded to Windows XP, I rang the local?office of Creative and arranged to have the Creative?software for Windows XP?deli'vered by mail. I received a disc with all drivers for both boards and the remote control. It has the only way that I got it going on XP. The irony of buying expensi've, good quality boards is that the hardware outli'ves the operating system that it was built for originally. And to reward customer loyality, the hardware makers, stop supporting their own?flagship models in the hope that we will eventually buy their latest, more expensi've products, which in most cases is just a marketing exercise?at re-naming old?products, while increasing the prices of product lines which have poor customer demand. How many?Audigy 7. models have they been so far?99.5% of customers can not tell a SoundBlaster Li've Platinum 5. from an Audigy 7., based solely on hearing alone, since?both cards?have such similiar real world performances.

  • Problem updating drivers for soundblaster live value CT4

Hi all, I wonder if anyone can help me, i have a creative soundblaster li've value sound card model no. CT4780 it's about 4yrs old and i am trying to update the driver as the last one to go on it was in 2002. I have been trolling the creative website and downloaded the automatic update driver search but when it finishes it says i have the most current update for my card. I have had a look at the Li'veDrvUni-pack and being a bit of a novice to driver installing i was wondering if that one would be okay for me to download and install. Would appreciate any help.....

    Hi Shrek
I just listed my first post. I bought a dell Dimension XPS T500 in 999. It used a CT4780 that fed a good Altec Lansing speaker system. When I built my present budget PC I used the old CT4780 card. Because I?am using XP Pro I loaded Li'veDri'veUni-Pack.exe driver (released 280203). This worked fine.
But I do not have the SPDIF working as yet. My MSI? MS-6533XG?Motherboard does have?header pins for SPDIF but?so far I haven't used them. I am looking for drivers to use if I can get the SPDIF connected.
Do you have any info?on my needs?
    Thanks
    Bailsburg

Granted the new support page format sucks, but if you scroll down to the bottom of this page,

    it quite clearly says,

    • Only if your video camera supports it.  Depending on how your camera works, you may need to add preview software to your Mac to use this feature.
    • Alternatively, your camera may also be able to record directly into your Mac while you are monitoring the Mac's display.
    • If you are using a consumer camcorder that supports HDMI monitoring, a small HDTV might be an simpler solution than your Mac.  For an example of how this is done, see http://youtu.be/GVpSkZD6qE4.
    • The retailer who sold you your video camera may have other suggestions.
    • If you need more professional results, an external preview monitor will offer more capability on compatible cameras.
