Lack of series/episode numbering on guide?

Can anyone explain why there is not any episode/series numbering on the program listing? I find this very frustrating when there are multiple copies of a program recorded or when I want to record a program.

Pain in the Arris but it does work.
HA HA HA. You just tell the best jokes. Try that with just about anything on BBC3 or ITV2 and see how far you get.
Why Guilbo, I didn't think you were capable.

You have been so helpful in so many circumstances, to so many users, I'm shocked.
I do it all the time, to trolls, but hey, thats me. But I've never seen you do it, to anyone. On this, or any other forum.
It's a surprise to say the least.
Are you OK?

  • ITunes refuses to copy TV Shows based on episode numbers...!

I have a lot of TV content in iTunes, some bought from the iTunes store, some I have ripped and encoded myself. Everything is tagged thoroughly and correctly with episode IDs, episode numbers, watched/unwatched flags, series and season info, even episode titles. The works, basically. Everything appears in the correct order and works perfectly from iTunes itself.
However, when it comes to syncing with my iPhone, it's a totally different story. I have iTunes set to copy over the first least recent episode of various shows, and this used to work fine. Then it started to get things a little off, so I may have watched episode 1 and 2, but it would sync episode 4 instead of 3. Then it got worse, much worse, to the point I am now where it's as if I have some hidden 'copy any random thing you like' option checked.
To try and remedy this I deleted my iTunes library XML and uninstalled iTunes. I then re-installed, and set everything up again (not a fun process!). Then I let it sync my iPhone and if anything the selection of episodes it copied over was even more crazy than before.
I don't know what else to try here. iTunes itself displays everything perfectly and in the correct order, but I really liked the ability to keep things in sync between iTunes, my iPhone, and my Apple TV. I can use playlists and manually choose which video to sync, but I shouldn't have to.
Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

  • How do I go about getting the product serial number to register my product as well as install my product.  I bought it with a product box.  On the software disc sleeve, there is a series of numbers pasted at the bottom of the sleeves but this is not valid

How do I go about getting the product serial number to register my product as well as install my product.  I bought it with a product box.  On the software disc sleeve, there is a series of numbers pasted at the bottom of the sleeves but this is not valid.  When I tried to type this in for registration, it does register as this numbers also contain letters in it.  Apparently the registration boxes accept numbers only.  What do I do with a useless product for which I have paid good money for it?????

This is the simple solution which was offered to me when I tried to get the serial code on line.
The box and disc sleeve do not contain a series with 24 numbers which I presume is the product code to install.
I tried to redeem the registration code by following what they recommended, but inevitably it gets to the page that showed the registration boxes that need 24 serial numbers and I got stuck again.
This product is so different what my previous experiences of other software products where I just enter the serial number straight from the disc sleeve and then I got registered and go on to use the software.
I is really frustrating, spending the last two hours trying to get my product going....

  • How to create a monthly series in numbers

I'm trying to create a monthly date series in numbers for iphone app. When I try to fill down A1:A2, it is presented as B1:B5. I want the column to show the  first day of each month. I can't find a function that accomplishes this.
    Header 1
    Header 2
    6/1/13
    6/1/13

    Hi DC,
You've asked in the community discussing Numbers for Mac OS X, so this response may not be applicable to Numbers for iOS. If not, you migth try reposting your question in the iWork for iOS community.
Here are two methods using formulas to ceate the date series you want:
Column B: Seed date is entered in B2.
Formula is entered in B3 and filled down to end of column.
    B3: =EOMONTH(B2,0)+1
Column C: Formula entered in C2 and filled down.
    C2: =DATE(2013,ROW()-1,1)
Note the warning triangles in the last three rows. These warn that the formula is receiving a number greater than 12 for the month argument to the DATE formula. It is a warning of an unusual situation, but not a red error alert as the formula continues to produce the cirrect result.
Italics formatting was applied manually to draw attention to these three cells. The blue triangle may be dismissed with two clicks, one to show the warning:
the other to tell Numbers to ignore the cause. This must be repeated for each cell showing this error.

  • IPod Touch 3rd gen doesn't recognize episode numbers from TV Shows.

    I recently have this problem:
my iPod Touch (3rd generation, software version 4.2.1) doesn't recognize any episode numbers from tv show episodes. I numbered all my episodes in iTunes, then transferred them to my iPod, but when I scroll though my episode list on my iPod, the episodes are ordered alphabetically, and they all have the notion "Season 1, Episode 0".
This applies to both TV Shows that already were on my iPod, and new TV shows I added to my iPod video library.
I never had this problem before, and as far as I know, I didn't change any settings on my iPod or iTunes.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

    Forgot about dfu mode.

In numbers how do you fill in for a series of numbers or dates without doing it manually

You can enter a value in two cells that establishes a pattern, then select the two cells, then click (and hold) on the little circle at the bottom right corner of the selection and drag to fill as needed.

  • I upgraded to Yosemite several days ago.  The new itunes will display episode numbers.  Does the new itunes allow editing of episode numbers?

I upgraded to the new operating system, Yosemite, on my 13" macbook pro.  I installed the new itunes in the process of upgrading.  My itunes library includes music files with "episode numbers."  iTunes will display these, but appears not to allow me to enter episode numbers for newly acquired music.  Is there a way I can edit episode numbers?  If not, is it considered a bug?  Can we expect a future release of iTunes in which this is fixed?  If not, why not?  Why has Apple disrupted its customer base's use of its products?  It doesn't seem like a good idea to eliminate useful functionality from your products.

I don't know why it would take 6 hours to back up your iPad - unless you have the 64GB device and you have it loaded to the gills with content already. It should not take that long.
You can backup your iPad to your computer and transfer all purchases into iTunes and you should not have to restore the device to factory settings. When you connect the iPad to your computer and launch iTunes, right click on the iPad name on the left sidebar and select Transfer Purchases. That will put all of the apps and purchased content into Tunes on your Mac. Let that process complete and then right click on the device name again and select Backup this time. Let that process complete.
Now go into all of the different tabs of iTunes, Info, Apps, Music, Photos, etc, etc, and make sure that you have selected all of the content that you want to sync with the iPad. Put checkmarks in all of the headings as well - Sync Apps, Sync Music, etc.... Then click on Sync in the lower right corner.
If something goes wrong - or if you forget an app or a playlist or album - or anything at all - just go back into the corresponding tab in iTunes, select the item to sync - and click on Apply in the lower right corner.
After you do all of this - you can set up Wi-Fi syncing and it should go without issue. You can backup to iCloud or to iTunes as you see fit. Personally, I am not relying solely on iCloud yet. I do backup to iCloud, but I still back up to iTunes on my Mac as well - and I use Time Machine to backup all of that up.

  • Contraction of series of numbers

I'm sure I've seen this script somewhere in the forums, but I haven't managed to find it regardless of the search terms I use.
Basically I'm trying to contract a series of numbers into a span of numbers.
    For example:
         41, 42, 43, 44, 45
    will become:
         41-45
After that I will write a script to further reduce that to '41-5' as suitable for indexes.
Of course, this is more of a pure javascript problem than a pure InDesign problem since we are just dealing with a string, then converting to an array of numbers, then contraction. But I'm sure I found it here... anyway.
Any help with finding this script/thread is much appreciated.

Thank you for your prompt attention to my problem. The result should be an array of strings, rather than a number. As such, this is far from solved.
Anyone able to address the original problem of contracting spans of numbers?
I'm sure we've dealt with this before. My search terms are wanton.
In more detail: when finished with index generation in InDesign we often end up with a series of sequential numbers. The pure way to deal with this is to modify the index entires to deal with the relevant spans (via styles, page count, etc), but without the time (or client budget) I'm looking for a way to reduce a series of numbers into an array of number spans.
(Yes, I realise we are converting strings to numbers and then re-combining as strings, but I'm sure we've dealt with this before. Brain's trust, haven't we done this before?)

  • Why doesn't my iPad Videos App show TV Show Episode Numbers?

    Dear everybody,
Can you please help me with this issue, my iPad Videos app doesn't show TV Show episode numbers. They appear to be ordered correctly but shouldn't there be an episode number section?
    Here's the screnshot:
    http://tinypic.com/r/18kx09/6

It's not designed to. It will only appear in Windows Explorer if you have photos on the iPad that were taken with it, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails, websites - in which case it will appear as a camera. Otherwise you get content on and off the iPad via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc

  • TV Show's Season and Episode numbers are all messed up

Because of a misunderstanding, Apple iTunes Store caused all of my past purchases to be downloaded to my itunes again.
The support folks gave me directions on how to go through and delete all the duplicates in my iTunes, which I did. It took a bit of time, and I followed their instructions to only delete the most recently downloaded version. Everything is OK except many of my TV shows. Somehow all the Season Numbers and Episode Numbers got all screwed up.
I could go through and fix them manually, but that could take a while, and I would have to look up the numbers somehow.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get these fixed without downloading them again?
Should I contact iTunes Store support again?
    Thanks in advance!

  • TV series episodes won't download

I purchased a TV series and two of the episodes only downloaded about 30 seconds and will not complete.  Is there anyway to re-download these episodes without having to purchase them again?

    Hi kittyphoenix,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you are not able to download your past TV show purchases, first try the troubleshooting steps in this article:

  • Episode numbers appear as a "-"

    Hey everyone,
I just started hosting a podcast on posterous.  I used feedburner to send my podcast to iTunes.  When searching for the podcast, everything turns up find in iTunes and on the Podcasts app catalog portion.  However, when I subscribe to my podcast and go to listen to an episode on my iPhone, the episodes are listed with a dash.  I included some pictures so you'll see what I'm talking about.  Why won't it list my episodes when I subscribe to it like it does in the store?
First one of how it displays the episode number on the Info page of the Podcasts app.
How it displays the episode number after I've subscribed to it:

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
This changed with the latest numbers software. You can't change it, you'll need to wait for the developers of other apps to catch up.

  • Release dates of Lost series episodes

I thought the LOST episodes wre going to be available for download the day after they were aired on ABC on Wednesdays. Episode 6, series 2 isn't available from ITMS yet.
Or is the day after release day not the case?
    Thanks
    Samantha

I wish I knew the answer. I'm patiently waiting for episode 6 as well. Hope it is soon.

  • Powerbook G3 Series production numbers

I am trying to guess how many Wallstreets, Lombards, Pismos were made. I found numbers in old Apple annual reports but they use a fiscal year reporting that does not sync with product launch dates so it is hard to calculate this way. I also heard the Lombard 400 is the lowest production of them all. Another site from way back said only several hundred thousand each. Does anyone have any sources for this information?

    You could go here
    http://www.geocities.com/Athens/3682/applehistory.html
and scroll down to the bottom and contact some of the people there.
I am sure someone would be able to give you the info or at least point you in the right direction.
