We have a 2008 HD AVCHD HDR SR12 sony video camera. We down loaded movies onto our macbook and burned dvd's on idvd. The result when viewed on hd tv was as follows. Lack of smooth video flow and pixel activity in white colors. The finished product looks fine on the computer screen. We are using maxell dvd-r and sony dvd accucore -r discs. We are home movie enthusiasts and do these for our family (amateurs).

Way over my head BUT my first thoughts is.
• AVCHD is very demanding - are Your Macs up to it ?
• I would secoure lot's of free space on internal (booth/strat-up) hard disks
eg 25 or 50 or even more Gbs This is the scratch disk for iDVD and the video editor BUT
also for Mac OS (UNIX) and QuickTime (the heart of iMovie, iDVD, FinalCut Express and Pro)

Why does the Video looks Pixelated after Burning DVD

In IDVD when I preview the video it looks great, when I burn the DVD it comes out very very pixelated. I've changed the preferences from Best Performance to Best Quality, and the project properties as well I've done the same. Does anyone know why this is happening?
I'm using 16:4 aspect ratio Video Size is 1280x720

How are you viewing the DVD you created - on a computer or on a TV?
In IDVD when I preview the video it looks great
The preview uses your original content on your hard drive and is simply designed to allow you to see if the 'flow' (sequences, menus, etc) are what you wanted.
In addition, although iDVD 'supports' HD, it only supports it in the context of current specifications - not the new HD DV world that has two competing HD DVD formats.
This means your 1280x720 content gets downsized and compressed to fit on a 720x480 DVD. The video must be 'expanded' to play on a HD set.
BTW, your aspect ratio is 16:9 and NOT 16:4. 16:4 would REALLY be widescreen! I haven't seen THAT spec yet.

ALL flash videos looks pixelated, win 7 or 8.1, ONLY with firefox

Latest firefox version, latest adobe flash player.. Had cleaned cache and preferences of both Firefox and Flash Player.. two different machines with different hardwares and SOs, no luck!

Firefox's WEB images are GREAT but all videos looks pixelated as the left picture.. had compared the same video with Firefox and Chrome opened side-by-side.. :\

Hardware acceleration ON of OFF didn't make any difference.. honestly I never saw anyone saying they see any difference switching it..
Of course with a higher resolution (720 or 1080p) there's less pixelation, but with other browsers there ain't such issue..

first i edited my video in premier cc
sequence 1280X720, 59,94 fps
48000hz - stereo
the i linked it with dynamik link to after, make some color correction, etc etc etc
i renderd in quicktime animation
my video looks fine in my computer, but when i send my .mov video to encore (cs6) in a HD MENU and standard menú, the image sucks.
i have done the transcoding in encore, but i doesnt work either. i dont know what else to do.

Onlocation ver 4 & hvx200 not smooth video unless 480??????

Onlocation looks so cool but when I use 1080 and look at the screen and playback it jumps and looks jittery what can I do to have a smooth video capture? When in 480 it looks good but I can see the less detail then In 1080 great picture but it jumps a little and movment is not nature.

i am recording on onlocation and see that video is jerky at 1080 but not on 480 could it be I need a Mac Pro????

Ichat Video Quality pixelated and very delayed with friend on a Dell

I am on a Imac and have Airport express, but when I chat with my friend on a Dell, my video is pixelated and delayed. I talk with other friends on PC's and the quality is fine.

Add me to this problem. My powerbook G4 (10.4.10) can initiate with a mini G4 with isight (10.5.2) and be perfect in sync with video and audio. But if the mini initiates the chat a very long delay happens between voice and video. I also have an Ibook with 10.4.11 and when chatting with PB G4 are perfect, this applies to an intel imac with 10.5 only, ichat works fine. I think Ichat got affected with 10.5.1 or 10.5.2. I did noticed that if I open QT pro and make a recording(on mini), the actual caption is delayed but play back is ok. I have been playing with the QT preferences but does not seem to work. I saw there is a new update 10.5.3, and it includes so ichats update. Will keep posting. Pedro PS this is all in my home network. TWCNYC with 9600 kbps download and 488 kbps upload.

How to keep videos from pixelating in browser

How do I keep my flash videos from pixelating badly when
viewed in a browser using the zoom feature (as in Opera, Explorer,
and Firefox)?
So far, I've been embedding my videos using the Dreamweaver
CS3 "insert: media: flash video" routine.
The videos look perfectly sharp when viewed in any browser at
100%. They're also acceptable when zoomed OUTSIDE the browser, in
RealPlayer or Quicktime.
Here's what I mean. The left image is in Opera (zoomed), the
right is in RealPlayer (outside a browser) also zoomed:

On other sites, I see videos that zoom without serious
pixelation, or that don't allow zooming (the video keeps the same
dimensions as other page elements expand.) I'd be happy with either
solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Establish a pixel height & width in your embed code that
is the true height
& width of your video player and controls. Don't use
percentages.

Best Practices for smooth video playback

I'm using a low res. video as a reference movie in a 5.1 project. 23.98 fps, H.264. Video playback is very choppy. In the video playback window the Resolution setting in the pulldown menu is greyed out. It's set to Full Res. How do I change this setting? Also any tips for achieveing smooth video playback?

I'm sorry, but I can't help you with the video problem. The only time I tried this recently, I couldn't get the damn video to play in Audition at all, so I gave up; fortunately it didn't matter. The only thing I know is that the video engine it uses has been changed at some stage (probably CS5.5) - heaven only knows what the implications of this are.

Calling task flows return activity from Jspx page.

Using JDev11.1.1.6
I have created template for home page, drag and dropped the task flow(Main Task flow) as region.
Main task flow contains other 2 taskflows with control flows and other 2 taskflows contains Task flow return activity to navigate back to Main task flow.
I need to call task flow return activity from jspx page.
How it can be acheived? can you please suggest me.

My use case is to close the child task flow and navigate back to main task flow. This should be done through homePage.jspx(whch contains main task flow).
What i have done:
Having page template which has logout and home page links. Use this template to create homePage.jspx, Next drag the main task flow to create a region inside the homePage.jspx.

FLOW n Activity

Hi, guys i have come across a problem of which i am not able to find solution since last two days, since i a new to xslt and BPEL as well, i am not able to come up with a solution for it.
Hope the eldies here could lend a helping hand.
So here's the problem

the above xml is what i am getting in the input. In actual the number of product id in the list would be huge. What i need to do is break this in multiple smaller list of say 50 productids each. Once done i need to spawn parallel flow depending on the number of smaller list and then pass distinct llist of productids to each of the flows.
I can spawn multiple flows in a flown activity by
count(elements in list of productids) / 50
The problem is how to break the list into smaller lists and then passing distinct list to each flow spawned.
I need help quick and dearly. :)

I thing which i have come up with is, if i can acces the index variable(defined in flow n activity) from withing the xslt, then i can use an if condition to process the request. to be clear it goes like this.
1) for every branch which is spawned in the flown activity, the index variable is incremented by 1. this means that each branch would have a different index variable value.
2) If i could access this value from within my xslt, i can put an if condition like below
a) if(index=1) then startpos=1 and endpos=50
b) if(index=2) then startpos=51 and endpos=100
This would ensure that each branch would send a different list of customer numbers to the invoked services.
But now the problem is how do i access this index variable from my xslt.
if the value of index variable was static, i could have passed it as an external paran to the xslt but since here the value is dynamic i am stuck again :(......

Dynamically Assign TaskFlowId to Task Flow Call Activity

we can specify dynamic task flow id to a task flow call activity, but i am unable to specify it. It says we can specify in 11.1.2.2 but i am using a higher version which is 11.1.2.3. I didn't get any property for this task flow call activity.
Please guide me how can i acheive this task in 11.1.2.3

I tried 11.1.2.4 and I see the "Task Flow Reference" switch and the dynamic option. I can specify an EL expression - e.g. pointing to a managed bean property - to resolve the ID String. Use the arrow icon next to the ID field to access the EL builder

Youtube videos stop after activating bluetooth headset

Anybody else having youtube videos stop after activating a bluetooth headset?
I've seen a few people mention it, but no consistent resolution. One post said to change the audio frequency under midi config, but the panel only gives an option of 8Kb.

I'd love to see some resolution on this as well. It seems any(?) flash based application or plugin will refuse to play audio and/or video when the default audio output device is a bluetooth headset. I've tested this in several browsers with flash video. Oddly, if the web-based flash video is downloaded, VLC is able to play it with no problems.
My guess is this is a conflict between Adobe's Flash player and the bluetooth drivers in OSX.
The suggestion regarding changing the MIDI frequency to 44Khz is also not an option as this particular headset is limited to 8Khz (one channel)

Video export pixelated

Hi,
I shot video on a Canon 7D and imported into LR3. The video looks and sounds great in camera prerview but when I export out of LR3 (or when I play inside of LR3) the video has pixelated banding lines running through it. LR3 opens the video in Windows Media player as the default. Any ideas what is going on?

I'm not sure. It sounds like the codec that WMP is using to play them leaves something to be desired. It may be possible to find a better codec for it.
Can you set Quicktime up to be the default player for the type of video files that your Canon produces? I bet you can.
