LAM (LOCAL AREA MOBILITY) ON 15.X Images?

Does anyone know if LAM is supported on 15.x IOS versions and if so what license is needed?
Thanks,
PJ,

Hi PJ,
I just checked on Cisco Feature Navigator and the only hits for LAM support are on the ISR 4451 and CSR 1000v (Cloud Services Router) with IOS-XE.
Is there any specific hardware platform you're looking for? Perhaps a search by platform might throw something different up.

  • Local Area Mobility

I am having troubled with the local area mobility. Using two different networks over frame relay. I have setup the LAM according to the articles posted with access list, EIGRP.
I have setup a computer on network 1 with a network 2 address. Added the address to the access lists on both networks.
The computer is showing up in the IP route table on network table as a "D" code. And on network 1 showing up in the IP route table as a "M" code for mobile.
I have done a show arp and network and it is showing up there. My problem is that I can not ping the address or even get to that computer on either network.
Does anyone have any suggestions in getting this to work?

Okay I am going to try to explain what I have setup so far.
    Laptop computer IP: 192.168.2.250 Subnet:255.255.255.0 Gateway 192.168.2.1
    Router1 IP: 172.16.0.254 Subnet 255.255.0.0
    Router2 IP: 192.168.2.1 Subnet 255.255.255.0
I have configured both routers with Local area mobility directions that cisco has provided. Put the Laptop in the router 1 subnet. Router 1 has the arp entry in its table. In the show ip route it has the entry in there as a mobile node and points back to router2.
In Router 2 the entry shows up in the ip route as D EX as was asked about in a previous message.
When I have the laptop as a local IP address I can ping it with out a problem and remote desktop to it also. The routers also can not ping the device.
I will attach part of the configs if that will help.
Is any of you currently using this?
Here is what I am trying to do with this, I have server on router1 and a backup server on router2 if for any reason that I should lose the main server i will do a rollover on the backup and it will take the IP address of the main and the users won't which system they are on.
Is there a better way of doing this? Mobile IP won't work on this cause of the system that I am using (AS/400).
So any suggestions or is anyone else doing something like what I am trying to accomplish.
Also, I have had this working when I had the routers sitting next to eachother and using the Fastethernets hooked together. So now we are going over a serial connection, could that be our problem? Does the serial support this kind of protocol? Why I question that is that all the information that I have seen is on the Fastethernet and nothing on the Serial connection.
Thank you everyone for your response in trying to solve this issue.
I have attached copies of the configs.

I am unable to access intranet on my MacBook Pro 13" with OS X mavericks. Is it possible to use files on the Local Area Network? I use the files on the Local Area Network on my windows computer by typing in the I.P address in the library. Kindly guide me how i can use these files stored over the Local Area Network.

I disabled GateKeeper's automatic blocking of unrecognised developers, and so I was able to install the driver.
The Mobile Connect program is now installed, but the computer still does not recognise the modem.
I also borrowed a USB hub from a friend and it didn't make a difference.

I need an online number for my local area code 606 Morehead Kentucky.
There are several cities surrounding mine with local online number options
but not Morehead, Kentucky. If it is possible, please add Morehead to your list

But couldn't figure out what to chose among 13 choices listed as New York City Zones 3 through 15.  Is there a difference in the Zones? I notice they all have the same area code - 347.
There are some subtle differences, related to how local phone calls are billed for callers in New York City.  It would not affect how the Online Number works for you - you are not charged for incoming calls made to Skype's Online Numbers, when you answer those calls with Skype.  For those calling you, it can mean the difference between a free call to your Online Number and having to pay a small fee to call your number.  For someone calling from outside the New York City area, it probably doesn't matter which of those zones you use for your Online Number.
I have not found a good concise online reference to those calling zone in the past.  I have found some rather cryptic material that shows which prefixes in each of the New York City area codes are in each of those zones.  The zones are defined by lists of prefixes within each of those area codes, and those lists can be substantial with the growth in mobile phones over the years.

  • P7N 750i SLI platinum, no Local area connection

    Hi,
i have something very weird with my second p7n 750i platinum mobo(first one i had to send back because it didnt post), i dont have a local area connection in network connections and i am using the onboard network controller, the only thing i see in there is the firewire.
owkay first things first, i installed windows SP2 and updated it to SP3, then did the nforce drivers that came with the mobo, got a BSOD with those on the nvgts.sys error for sata drives and the ethernet controller with those nforce drivers installed correctly and i had an local area connection visible in network connections(could see this in safe mode), but since i couldnt boot into normal windows with BSOD i deleted those nforce drivers and downloaded the latest from nvidia 8.43.
i installed the nforce 8.43 drivers just the ethernet part without errors in normal windows since i was able to boot back to it.
Now i dont see a Local area Connection but i do have an active connection(i get ip address from dhcp and am able to do everything on the internet and network)
first thing i tried then was again removing the 8.43 drivers and install the drivers from the cdrom again without the sata stuff just the ethernet drivers but then the network adapter didnt work at all so i went back to the 8.43 drivers with the same result, i have a connection, i just dont see it
ive tried everything i could think of to get it to show up but havent found anything,
maybe any of you can help with this
the image shows what i mean on the right side and you can see in device manager its there and also in ipconfig
    http://users.skynet.be/Sabre/nolan.jpg

    Everything is fine now
i did another fresh install but this time with a dutch windows XP SP2 not english and now i do have a LAN icon in network connections and im using the same driver installers as before, very strange.
and to answer NovJoe: on the english xp i could install all drivers without errors, from nforce i only installed ethernet drivers and SM bus controller, only thing was that the ethernet controller was not fully recognized by windows i think so it didnt show it in network connections but how or why i have no clue.
As you can see in my screenshot in the command window next to ethernet adapter it should have said Local area connection except it shows a bunch of numbers but its fine now, ill stay with my dutch win xp then.

  • Local area connection doesn't have valid ip

I have a Touchsmart 320-1030 that belongs to a friend. Everything was working fine then for no apparent reason connection to the internet was lost.  They have contacted their isp and gone through all troubleshooting with them. All other equipment (ie laptops, phones, ect..) connect and work fine. The windows troubleshooter offers no help and says  local area connection doesn't have valid ip is the reason it won't connect. This is true when trying to connect wired or wireless.  I piddle with fixing computers as a hobby so they have asked me to see what I can do if anything. I have been Googling, reading, and trying everything I have found for three days and have had no luck. So I am hoping I can find some help here. I have never seen anything like this. It may be a hardware problem and I'm not smart enough to realise it. But I need to know that too.
    System -
    Touchsmart 320-1030
    Win 7 Home Premium
    4 gigs ram
    What I have done -
Brought system to my house to see if it will connect, it does not so I am working on it here.
I have rebooted modem & router
Connected systen directly to modem bypassing router
Uninstalled and allowed windows to detect and reinstall network drivers
    Updated network drivers
    Updated Bios
Tryed to inatall orginal drivers from support but they wont install
I have changed from detect automaticly to use this ip in tcip ip4 and used ip I know is good to my router -
When I did this last thing the wireless did see my network but the network 2 thingy that it makes still won't connect even tho when I search for connections the list says I am connected to my network. The little thing by the clock says not connected. Also the ethernet adapter says unknown public network when I do that. Wireless says unknown public network or connection when I have it detect ip automaticly.
Network discovery will not turn on in homegroup, nether will the services assocated with it.

I have uninstalled bonjoir because I read that causes a conflict of somekind
I have run tweaking . com windows repair ( just in case because it looked liked the firewall repair was doing something).
I have run sfc /scannow and it found and fixed some things, ran it again and it found nothing.
I am pulling my hair out with this one. Please help.

16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off).  Have you previously been saving PSD files?
IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on.  The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list.  So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
[EDIT]  Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line.  Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?

You don't need to start a new thread to continue a conversation, you can just tack onto the original one. The settings I referred you to are for the Blackberry, since that's the device which is not receiving mail: anything which is working can be left alone.

The desktop applications are still installed on your computer, and the files are also saved on your computer.
Optionally you can upload files with a browser to https://creative.adobe.com/files, or sync up files using the file sync that is part of the Creative Cloud desktop application. The online file storage is private to you, no one else can see it your files.
If you do want to share your files there are two options:
You can Collaborate, which is sharing a folder with another Adobe ID. Only the person you collaborate with can see the folder.
You can use Send Link to send a publicly accessible url to a file or folder.

  • Address Book won't import local area code

I'm trying to export my contact info from Palm Desktop to Address Book. Everything works fine, expect that AB doesn't import a contact's area code if it's my local area's code. In this case AB only imports a contact's 7 digit phone number. This isn't a problem with area codes outside of my local code, --they import just fine, and I get the whole 10 digits.
I've tried exporting both vCards and text files. By opening the text file with TextEdit, I have verified that Palm Desktop is indeed exporting the area codes --both my local code and distant ones. Yet when I import that same file into AB, contacts in my local area are stripped of the area code.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance, --Brian
    12" Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Thanks for your questions/suggestions. I think they have helped lead me in the right direction over the past 24 hours, though I still don't have a solution.
To make the long story short:
I believe the problem lies in the fact that as I've added contacts to Palm Desktop over the years, I've not included an area code if they were in my area. Now I'm switching to AB since it can sync with my new cell phone, and I'm needing area codes for all calls. Rather than enter my local code for hundreds of contacts, I've used a Palm preference whic sets up a "default area code."
What I have discovered is that contacts for which I have manually entered an area code transfer to AB just fine. Contacts for which this preference provides the area code lose this information in the transfer. This is baffling, because the two cases look identical when viewed with Textedit, --the area code is visible plain as day in either situation.
Just as puzzling --when AB imports a contact it gives a chance to review the information if the card is a duplicate. When I perform this review a "Text File Import" window appears. In this window areas codes always appear, --whether manually entered or provided by the Palm preference. However, in the "Reviewing Card" window which follows, cards which had Palm preference provided area codes have inexplicably lost those codes, while those with manually entered codes have retained them.
    Any further thoughts?
    Thanks some more, --Brian

  • Local area network disable internet connection

    Hello,
    i have a strange problem, i explain
Computer A  win XP   ip 192.168.2.231 with onboard network card
Computer B  win 98   ip 192.168.2.232 with pci network card
Router Linksys WRT54GS, with ip 192.168.2.230, but i use it just like a hub because i don't have here internet connection
both computers connected with cable and all work nice.
Then i added a wireless/USB Planet because i want to connect it to another router in another building to get internet connection, so i connected this Planet wireless/USB to computer A, all work nice, i get signal internet connection and ip 192.168.1.102
but ..... and that is the problem, when i connect computer B win local area it disable my internet connection, i try to ping some domain name from computer A, where Planet adaptor is installed, but it try to find this domain name in local area instead to route in internet connection, if i deactivate local area ..... internet connection work like a charm.
I tried to change several ip groups, all in 192.168.1.x, tried to disable, enable DHCP server in router, tried to change subnet mask, tried to use proxy, to play with router configuration...... nothing it not work.
So i think something about network onboard conflicts, so i installed a new pci card in computer A, ouffff nothing when i active local network i stop to have internet connection, i tried also to install another USB wireless adaptor and connect it via wireless with router, nothing ... when i active local network i stop to get internet connections
So the only way to get internet connection is do disable local network oufffff
    any suggestions about ?
    tks

  • Local Area Network Application

Please I am trying to write a local Area Network Application that would work for an organisation.
I intend using RMI to approach it. But I would want to know if RMI approach to network programming as any security issues. Cause i want the application to be super secure. I would have used socket but i kind of find it difficult to use socket to develop complex applications. I would also appreciate if any one could help me with a tutorial that explains in details on how to use socket to develop complex applications.
This is my email address *[removed by moderator]*.
Or you could give me a link were I can download it.
Edited by: EJP on 16/06/2012 10:41: removed your email address. These forums are for public questions and public answers. If you want a private consultant, hire one.

Well, you would use sockets to implement a complex application just as you would to implement a simple application -- only your application is going to be more complex. You wouldn't use the sockets any differently in your complex application.
To find a tutorial about how to use sockets, your web search keywords are "java socket tutorial". Choose the Oracle tutorial from the list which you get from your search engine.
As for RMI: it's implemented using sockets, as is any Java application which communicates across a network. Whether it has any security issues -- I'm no security expert, but no doubt you can use a packet sniffer to see what it's sending. And since it sends serialized Java objects, it might be possible to reverse-engineer the packet sniffer's output to inspect the contents of those objects. Whether that counts as "super secure" is up to you when you clarify the term's definition.
