  • HP Deskjet 1280 Driver for windows 8.1 Pro

    Hi Team,
I have upgraded my compter operating system from windows 7 professional to windows 8.1 pro now, I unable to install  HP deskjet 1280 printer to new operating system.
Can you please send me a link to download the driver.
    Regards,
    Umesh

    Hi @Umesh_kanth ,
I understand that you need the driver for Windows 8.1. I would be happy to help you.
I checked the website and unfortunately there isn't any drivers to be able to download for Windows 8.1 for the HP Deskjet 1280 Printer. But you should be able to install the printer with a Windows generic driver. Plug the printer into the computer to see if Windows will automatically install a OS. driver.
You might have to add the driver manually, here are the steps:
Go to the start up screen. (tiles menu)
Type in "Devices and Printers", select settings, click on Devices and Printers.
Click on Add Printer and follow the steps.
Select the HP Deskjet PCL3 Class Driver from the list.
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!
    Thank You.

  • Desperately need help with a networked printer and SMB sharing for windows

Complete xServ newbie here. I'm a windows/novell admin, with limited experience in Unix and Linux.
Against my advice, a client of mine that owns a small office of 20 people bought an XServG5 to act as a server for 20 mixed Windows PCs. File sharing services are working fine. I've created the users, set up groups and rights - that's all good.
I cannot get an SMB shared printer to work from the windows machines. They run through the network printer install just fine, it shows up online, etc. However, when print jobs are submitted they DO show up in the printer queue on the server, sit there for a while, and then get moved to the completed box.
They never print. There's not any indication that the job is even submitted to the printer. I can print to the printer just fine from the server itself, but the windows clients don't work, but they don't return an error message.
Print services are running on the server, I've configured the printer name to be less than 12 characters for the share, and indeed it does pop right up during the "add network printer" routine.
Ideas? I'm not even sure what questions I'm supposed to be asking, such is my ignorance of the OS. I do know that I followed the documentation to a T, and according to Apple this should work.
Thanks in advance for the help. I'm extremely frustrated.

We have the same problem. Our printer worked for about 2 years but failed similar to yours after a system update.
Can you go into the Windows service, Logs, Printer Service. Copy and paste the log here. What I am looking for is a line like lpr: CANNOTCONNECTCLIENT or something similar to this.
What I expect is that you have a problem where the cups defined printer is not usable. We can't get our problem fixed either - but am just curious if you have the same thing. We reloaded our server, applied all of the update and still cannot get it to work.
Again, I think it stems from the update.

  • Using Printer via Time Capsule for Windows

    Hi,
Could you please guide me how can I use printer connect to my time capsule from windows based PC. I can do it from my mac but unable to print it from Windows PC.
I have also downloaded Bonjour, it detects my HP printer 1018 but when it comes to driver it is not able to locate also tried so many different option for the driver but unfortuntely no luck so somebody please guide me to print (HP Laserjet 1018 printer) from windows connected via Time Capsule 2TB.

When you setup the printer choose a local printer.. then change the port to TCP/IP and type in the IP of the TC.
Complete the setup.. and choose the 1018 HP printer drivers.
That should be all there is to it.
Download the airport utility for windows and see if the printer is there.
Ensure you have the TC setup in WORKGROUP for file sharing.
Make sure the computer is in home.. not work or public.
Make sure you do not have homegroup activated.
If that doesn't work turn off the firewall and try again.

  • Deskjet 1280 driver for Windows 7 Home 32 bit

I have bought ,exclusively;  HP product for home and business for over thirty years and have now had four instances of (supposed) auto-destruct.
I have a Deskjet 1280 (with, now,  an expired warranty)  and can not obtain a driver to work it from my replacement computer.  The HP support site has proven unhelpful ( after half a day's concentrated effort! ).
Is it a matter of HP policy to deny its loyal customers access to their purchases after a predetermined period?
Am I mistaken or would I be wise to alter my allegience?

    Hi @davidse
I suspect your question would be better answered in the HP Enterprise Business Community, as your HP Printer is a commercial model.
My technical expertise is with consumer products and software, I am sure the commercial folks would be happy to help if you re-post your question for them to answer. The HP Enterprise Business Community is an HP Forum designed for the Commercial and Enterprise customers to help one another. I am sure you will find some HP folks there to help too.
Click here to view the Printing and Digital Imaging. When the page opens you will see the option to 'Log in' or 'Register Now' on the right. The commercial forums are separate from the consumer boards, thus you will need to register if you don't already have a commercial account.
You may find the HP Deskjet 1280 Printer support page helpful while you wait for somebody in the commercial Forum to respond to your inquiry.
    Best of luck.

  • Fail to install driver HP1050 deskjet for windows 8 when connecting printer with computer

I have this great HP desket 1050 printer for less than a year. My computer broke down so I bought a new one, but now with windows 8.1. So my printer was not working anymore, I fail to install my new printer. I can install the driver for HP1050 deskjet, but then there is a moment that you have to connect the PC and printer with an USB cable. This is the moment that the installation fails, nothing happens when I plug my printer into my PC. So I never finish the installation process complelty. The same thing happens when I choose add printer later and then add my printer. My printer is on and the cable is well plugged in. Anybody any suggestions as I would like to use this printer again. • PPS1UW Print Server no drivers for Windows 7 64-bit

I have a HP LaserJet 1200 printer attached to the PPS1UW and had no problems getting Windows XP and 32-bits Windows 7 to print. I am not having any luck with my new Windows 7 64-bits machine - the supplied software refuses to work in 64-bits, not even after I've configured the installer for XP compatilibity.
I was able to install HP LaserJet 1200 drivers up to the point when I click on 'Print Test Page' nothing appears. I am also able to access the IP address on which the PPS1UW is configured ie 192.168.1.2
I have pretty much exhausted all the help on forums that I have searched. Apperciate any help you may have.
    Jan Shim

Drivers for this type of printserver are out dated and this is one of the older models that they have released. The last known supported is windows XP, so you are lucky to have installed this with your other windows 7 computer. I am not familiar with this type of print server but you may also do LPR and see if that will allow you to print.
For more information about LPR, please check this link:

  • Printer Software not Working for Windows 8.1 and Drivers not Working with USB 3.0

We have a HP CM1312 MFP. We recently got two new windows 8.1 machines. We tried downloading and installing the windows 8 64 bit software, but everytime we tried installing the software the software program would exit abruptly.
We then tried just downloading the printer drivers and installing these. They installed ok, but when we tried to connect the printer via USB it said the printer did not support USB 3.0 which are the only ports we have on the new computers.
Is there a solution to either of these problems? Without the software we cannot use the fax or scanner.
    Thanks.

Can you connect USB 2.0 data drives?
    What make/model are the computers?

Hello, Is there already a new HP Deskjet Ink Advantage K209 All-in-One for Windows 10 64 bit. I Was looking and what I only found is: HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows and HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows. Will be appreciate for help. M.

  • How do I view printer errors on hp 1010/windows 8

I recently bought a new laptop and printer, both HP . I am trying to print and it keeps saying that the printer is in an error state. Is there a way to see what error state that is? It also said once that it required user interaction. The computer uses windows 8 ( i liked 7 far better ) .

    Hi primmamaof10,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that you are unable to print to your Deskjet 1010 from your Windows 8 laptop as the printer is indicating that it is in an error state.  Don’t worry about liking Windows 7 more than Windows 8, the sentiment seems to be fairly common.
Please start by Resetting the Printer.  When you are plugging the printer back in, please ensure you plug the printer directly into a wall outlet, not a power strip/bar or surge protector.  If that doesn’t resolve the issue, please Try the HP Print and Scan Doctor for Windows.  I’ve also included the Blinking Lights document for reference.

  • HP 8620 Control Panel for Windows 7

I have just upgraded from an 8500A Premium to an 8620.  My 8500A running on Windows 7 had a very nice User Interface on the Control Panel, where I could Scan, Fax, etc.  After installing my 8620, I just have the normal Windows interface, which is less than impressive and cannot recall how I was able to install the 8500A 'Advanced' User Interface.  Any thoughts...or was this discontinued as an option?

    Hi @DanK20
I am not certain I completely understand your inquiry. Are you speaking about the software on the computer, specifically the Printer Assistant?  If you did indeed install the software, you can go to Start > All Programs > HP folder > 8620 and open the printer Assistant from there, or it may just be an icon of the printer with 8620 next to it, either way the Printer Assistant will open.
If you have not installed the software or are missing a component, please download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows
The HP Printer Install Wizard for Window was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 8.1 users download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP Printer.
I hope this helps. If I have misunderstood, please let me know so I can do my best to help, thanks.
I found a second post authored by you, and moved it so I can help address any issue you are currently experiencing with your 8620. Running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.
