Landscape Keyboard

When is Apple going to upgrade the keyboard so you can use the landscape keyboard for text messaging, email, internet, etc.? I have nails so a larger keyboard makes typing much easier for me. This is the only aspect of the phone I have any issue with. I love my phone and think Apple should include this feature in the next update.

Wow, that SMS touch looks like a great app, and it's only two bucks right now! The developer says it was the price for Xmas and the day after, but he hasn't fixed it back to $5 yet. I just want to get it for my sister to save her on messaging fees. She has a 3G iPhone and so doesn't get the 200 messages for free. So instead she's told people not to text her and only sends mesages when they are urgent...haha. This program actually sends the "texts" as email and when people reply back, it's also received in your email box. Not 100% graceful, but it really might be a money saver.
Biggest isue is it will not work on international numbers, but AT&T already screws us in that regard, because my 200 free texts don't seem to include International texts, either.

Iphone 6 landscape keyboard punctuation???

Since Jony Ive had the foolish idea to jump into software design, is there a way to set things back to normal?
I just got a stupid iPhone 6 and now the landscape keyboard doesn't have punctuation. I'm forced to click the 123 button each time I want an apostrophe or a question mark. What is that crazy thing? Who could think about such a thing?
Is there any way to put a normal usable keyboard back to that phone???
For the price I paid I would like to be able to type mail and text messages.
Thanks for any tip that would save that device from the trashbin.

You're welcome. So try the first two ideas. I have one keyboard that lets me move the cursor by sliding my finger left or right on the spacebar. I have another keyboard that lets me copy to a clipboard for future reference.
Or try the keyboard shortcuts. To help one Forum member I found you can even make shortcuts to symbols that don't exist on my iPad, take this micon μ for example.
I don't even have a iPhone and was able to give you three good suggestions, now it's up to you to make it happen.

Landscape keyboard in App Store

Is there a hidden feature that lets you use a landscape keyboard when writing reviews in the App Store?

Hi, yep, same thing has happened to me today. Using an iphone 4. Don't as yet know how to fix it other than a reboot.

Landscape Keyboard in YM

When using Yahoo Messenger, I turn my iPhone 3Gs to landscape to thumb type on the larger keyboard. After the iOS 4 upgrade, the landscape keyboard is smaller without the spacebar. Does anyone else have this problem? I wondered if it was the OS upgrade, or Yahoo needs a patch.

Sorry, I don't believe the remote app has a rotatable screen.

In the latest update of pages on Ipad it says you can easily use iPhone landscape keyboard to type. How do you do this

I don't know where you read that but on the app description page - this is what it states.

That doesn't make it sound like you can use the phone keyboard to edit documents on the iPad. Maybe I missed it somewhere. It just makes it sound like the keyboard now rotates to landscape on the phone and the touch.

Landscape keyboard for sms

Hi
Does anyone know an application for sending sms´s in landscape keyboard, I don´t want it to be a free sms app because all those apps doesn´t work in Mexico they don´t have my carrier. The thing is I have big fingers and is dificult to write sms in the normal keyboard, I just want to write it easier with a landscape keyboard, like the mails.

Changing the landscape keyboard

I'm quite unhappy with all those extra buttons on the landscape keyboard on my iPhone 6 plus. I'd rather have bigger keys. Any way to disable all those extra keys? Or perhaps there's a keyboard out there that doesn't have the extra ones?

You can switch to zoomed mode Settings > Display & Brightness > View > Zoomed. In that mode, when in landscape, the keyboard his nice and big.. however everything else is big too.
I'd love to have the big keyboard but leave the rest the same.
I'm on iPhone 6, so not sure if this will work on 6 plus too. Let us know!

Landscape keyboard not in all apps

Just wondering... i upgraded to 3.0 yesterday and so far so good... except... I noticed that in a lot of apps like Facebook, YouTube (the iPhone app, not the website), MySpace, TweetDeck and many others I do not get the larger landscape keyboard when I rotate my iPhone. I thought this landscape keyboard was supposed to be in all apps, not just Messages, Safari and Mail.

The developers of those apps have to put that feature into their application. You might see this come with the next update of the app.
Apple made the feature available to developers and rewrote their own apps to give the feature. All 3rd parties will have to do it themselves

Standard landscape keyboard

One of the reasons I got the new 6 Plus was that I could not really write on the small keyboard on my old 4S. I usually prefered the landscape, more roomey, keyboard on the 4S and so I do on the 6 Plus, but I would really like to get rid off all the extra keys on the side and just scale up the standard landscape keyboard to make the keys bigger. Is that possible? I know there are 3rd party keyboards now but I would prefer the standard Apple keyboard, just without the extra new keys.

Yes, landscape kb has to be coded by the app developer. There are APIs for this in the SDK.

Apple please make landscape keyboard optional!

Apple please have a feature in the settings menu where we can disable the landscape keyboard in messaging!
Or even have have an option where we can disable the landscape mode in general. Theres lots of times where Im texting and slightly turn my phone and it goes into landscape mode. Or when im laying down and it stays in landscape mode.
Its bugging me!

Ios 8 landscape keyboard texting numbers

When I am typing in landscape in a text message, and type a number, why does it not switch back to letters? Instead it stays on numbers making you tap it a 2nd time. Is there a way to change this?
Also the landscape keyboard in messages is terrible. The actual letters are smaller than typing portrait, hopefully a keyboard comes out where you can actually move keys.

Same issue here. Just did the download now I'll hit the alpha key on the screen and it does not register. Only happens in landscape mode. Only tried it on imessage and SMS, did not try email yet.

Nokia N8 Landscape Keyboard Double Spaces when typ...

Has anyone else had a problem when on Facebook or Twitter or any other text field when browsing the internet. When you turn the phone to landscape to get a full keyboard and you his space between words you get a double space... this happens ALL THE TIME... even in the social app.
But when emailing or Texting it works fine... I was told it was software problem with my unit.
I would like to get the update to PR1.1 but I can't find anything for my product code 059D391

I just noticed this today. When typing email, notes or other entries it seems fine but when commenting on facebook it does the double space thing. The new firmware is not available for Rogers yet... still waiting.

Landscape keyboard becomes unresponsive

When entering a text message and switching to landscape orientation, the keyboard locks up after every few keys. Pressing a shortcut word or backspace makes it work again for a few more keystrokes. Portrait mode works fine.

Found mine to be slow / unresponsive at time in both portrait and landscape. Did General > Reset > Reset All Settings. Works now for me ..

IPhone 6 landscape keyboard

When I type on my iPhone 6 iOS8.02 keyboard in landscape mode, the text is invisible in the right hand third of the screen, though the cursor continues to move as I type. When switched to portrait, the text that was obscured reappears. Is this an iOS8.02 bug?
