Landscape software

I am new to Mac (and am loving it). I own a garden center and landscape design company. I currently do all of my drawings by hand. I am interested in buying a landscape design software so I can use my Macbook even more! I have been looking around, but it seems all of the professional landscape design software runs on PC's only. So if anyone can recommend a Mac friendly alternative that would be great. Thanks.

Well I did a search and like you didn't come up with a whole lot. I'm sure there's something. But what I did remember was something you might be able to use and best of all it's free. So since it is you can't be hurt by at least trying it. And someone who's doing freehand sketches should be able to do pretty well with it.

ESR modeling and Aris

Hi,
In our origination we are using Aris for the modelling of business processes. From what I am lead to believe is that Aris integrates with SAP Solution Manager and Solution manager integrates with the SLD. So landscape, software products and software component information can thus be pulled into Aris for use in models. This will greatly assist in the business process modelling in Aris, I would imagine.
Now once the business process is modelled in Aris, is there a way of importing it, as say a Procomp Model in the ESR?
Would you want to?
Or would you just continue to model in Aris and then pull in the interface logic into the models on the Aris side?
What is then the use of the modelling tool in the ESR?
Would you recommend that one should remodel the Aris Business Process Models in to the Modeling tool in ESR?
As you can see I am looking for some guidance in this regard.

The use of Modeling in ESR point of view
is In a service-oriented architecture of business applications, you ideally initially model your application prior to implementation. This means that you can answer fundamental questions such as what components the application comprises of, which services the individual components offer, and how the various different components interact with each other before you begin implementation. A governance process ensures that by using models, all services are always identified and defined in the same way, thus avoiding redundancies.
The models are not system-landscape-specific. Later on, they provide useful information when implementing services, as well as during any configuration that may be required. Furthermore, the models document different aspects of a business process, increase understanding of applications across departments and businesses thereby reducing costs when applications need to be changed or enhanced in a later release.
SAP they integrated ARIS modeling tool to develop Models,but i dont think so its possible to import ARIS models in SAP NetWeaver PI.But whatever models we developing in PI is based ARIS modeling only.
SAP works with this environment to create models for applications in the SAP Business Suite. These models are shipped to customers. You can create your own models in the ES Repository.

Cannot connect to the DTR

I have made an install of JDI according to the installation guides
After the implementation of the JDI a try to create an DTR client in Eclipse but in
the DTR console in Eclipse a get following message:
Ping on server http://localhost:50000/dtr/ returned: 501 Not Implemented
I have check the CBS log and everything appears to be fine:

SLD - Development

My SLD Homepage contains 3 categories
Landscape (System , Technical and Business Landscapes)
Software (Software Catalog)
Development (Name Reservation, Content Maintenance, Class Browser).
What is the Purpose of the Development? Could some one explain me the 3 different areas Name Reservation, Content Maintenance, Class Browser).

SLD Parameter Object Server

Hi!
When I access http://<localhost>:50000/sld, then clicking on to Technical Landscape, I get an error "Please set the SLD Parameter Object Server first".
I suspect that I haven't activated SLD. So I searched on how to activate it and found this procedure, "Configuring and Activating System Landscape".

Procedure
The SLD is part of the J2EE Engine. To activate and configure an SLD; you need to perform the following steps:
1. Execute the following URL to open the SLD start page: http://<host>:<port>/sld. <Host> and <Port> are the values for the associated J2EE Engine.
2. Choose Administration -- Server Settings.
The weird thing is that when I access SLD start page, I couldn't find "Administration" in it.

Additional Info:
I can also see a clickable link below that says, "Namespace: sld/active".
When I click on it, a prompt comes out "Please start the SLD server first."

I uploaded the new software this week and no longer can view google in landscape mode

I uploaded the new software this week to my ipad2 and now my google does not go into landscape mode when I put the ipad on my keyboard

To be honest, I can't tell you specifically why Google won't work in landscape mode - but I have some good suggestions.
1. Delete your Google App, and redownload it - and make sure you've chosen the version for iPad. This fixes the problem for most users.
2. Use an alternate app, like Safari (which has loads more features) or Chrome, both for iPad. And the search results are exactly alike.

Unable to read software component version from System Landscape Directory "

I've worked in past creating/importing SWCV, but this is new system PI7.0 and stuck.
A) Is my understanding on resolution correct?
Should I go and apply notes 940309 and create client copy of existing client 001
 OR
change role of client 001; SXMB_ADMIN -> 'Integration Engine Configuration' to 'Integration Server'
I have no problem in using client 001 as Integration server, all I want is import of SWCV to work. Thanks. Appreciate the help.
B) Here is what I have done and the error:
1) Followed weblog below and created product, software component, technical system, business sytem in SLD.

2) When I import the SWC from integration repository getting error

1) check the RFCs SAPSLDAPI, LCRSAPRFC, connection test pass as the program ID registered with Jco
2) T-code SLDCHECK no errors (followed http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/78/20244134a56532e10000000a1550b0/content.htm)
3) T-code SLDAPICUST got user PIAPPLUSER, pwd is correct (reset the pwd)
4) logged using PIAPPLUSER http://server:port/sld and it works
5) One of the weblog SLD Check Failed (LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS function doesn't work) referred to apply notes 940309

applied portion (PIPostInstallProcess) of OSS notes 940309 and it resolved.
Note:
I still retained client 001 and didn't do client copy as mentioned in the notes. The wizard based CTC tool helped. Here are the details if someone has similar issue and want to know further details:
A NetWeaver Process Integration (PI) Installation (ABAP+Java) has two parts: Installation and configuration. The former is done by the Installer, the latter by the 'Central Template Configuration' (CTC) Tool.

I have an ECC system with ABAP and Java installed.
I already configured so that SLDCheck, RFC destination configuration run successfully.
PIAPPLUSER is not locked and can logon.
However, when I import software component version in Integration Builder, the system return error message "Unable to read software component versions from System Landscape Directory "Server:50000".
Please tell me how to correct this error.

Videos not playing in landscape mode after upgrading my Z10 software to latest version

Hello,
Videos in my Z10 iss not playing in the Landscape mode after upgrading my Z10 smart phone software with the latest version. I think it is not sensing when i turn my phone.
Is it a bug in the upgraded software or do i need to do any changes in the settings.
Also -- i dont seem to have Blackberry balance on my Z10. Please advise

Custom software component not selectable in Landscape Configurator

Hello all,
I am trying some tutorial about Java development with a track and the developer studio.
I have successfully created the software component in my SLD, which is well linked to the NWDI. When creating a track in the Landscape Configurator, however, I cannot find my newly created Software Component when trying to specify the SCs developped in this track. I can see all the standard ones which are defined in my SLD, but not mine.
I already performed this step for other tracks with other custom-defined SCs without problem, but this time it does not work.
Does someone have a hint of what could cause this ?

In addition to realizing that I had not created this thread in the right forum, I have also find the solution. I just had to go to the Landscape Configurator, in Domain Data, and click the "Update CMS" button.
Maybe this will help someone sometime.

Hi there,
You do not need to buy at this first time, assuming you do not have graphic design experience you can start by using an Apple application as Pages, Keynote, iPhoto or others in your /Applications/ folder, check it out, try opening applications, read tutorials and welcome presentations or open a template file for some start edition.
After that you can try a freeware third party application, you will find many of that here: http://osx.iusethis.com/tag/graphics
Professional applications require a minimum specific knowledge that you would naturally acquire after sometime around with these others.
Before go on using third party apps would be smart to get one smart removal tool so that you'd be able to remove applications you do not like and related support files in one move, which would be better than having useless files remaining in your system. I use AppCleaner - http://www.freemacsoft.net/ - with it's SmartDelete Preference enabled, set it up if you will.
Despite most of Mac's applications only need to be copied to your HDD to be ready to run, they usually keep some support file maybe elsewhere the ~/Library and/or /Library/Application Support/ folders.
