Landscape support??

Why is there not landscape support for this native app?

Why no accelometer/landscape support?

Why has Apple neglected these applications for landscape support? It seems like having landscape for all of the applications would be very helpful, including mail, sms, calendar, and contacts. A lot of phones use landscape for writing texts (and e-mail), why not the iphone? Also, it would be nice to have some fluency when going from one program to another and not having to turn your phone every which way to get it the way you want it, so why not calendar landscape viewing? What would be really nice for contacts is if it went into something like cover flow for your contacts, only using their profile pictures in place of the album art. This would be really awesome and a great way to find your contacts! So what's with the lack of landscape support? Why not make it a requirement for every application?

Support Package pre-requistis accross different landscapes

I am struggling with which landscape but be patched before another since adding PI 711 into the mix.
I am supporting ECC6 EHP4 with NW701, BI 70 at Netweaver 70, Solution Manager 70 Ehp1 and now PI 71 ehp1.
I have been told PI must lead all other landscapes support package level but with it being at a later version of Netweaver than all other landscapes it is a far comparison or does it already lead them?
My immediate need is to begin planning for a support package project on the ECC6 EHP4 landscape in the fall. Since this landscape was last patch, about one year ago we add the PI landscape.
It is a pretty safe bet I will be struggling with this same question in about 6 months when I start looking at a BI support package project.
Any help that could be provided on this would be most appriciated.

I think we need to understand more why you feel certain systems need to be patched first or in a certain order
- from what you say there must be technical concerns across more than one product area
Perhaps it could be that --->
Generally systems that interact with one another should be on the same BASIS level and SP stack - the general rule of thumb
Products such as SLD definately have to be on systems with equivalent or higher BASIS version and SP stack than systems
they interact with because the content created for a Netweaver 700 SLD
may not be able to cope data supplier information from a Netweaver EHP1 system (this also raise other concerns regarding
exporting data between SLDs - again equivalency - or higher for target system is recommended, sometimes with SLD lower BASIS version source systems may have limited export options as well)
Products such a Solution Manager also as a rule of thumb have to be on equivalent or higher BASIS version or SP levels
than the systems they interact with
But PI also may have similiar concerns because they manage communication between systems e.g business systems
However lets take say Payroll in ECC without any ESS or Legacy Systems, ALE
- totally standalone payroll system - the only rules that apply there are that it works, has the latest fixes and required legal changes and follows a recommended stack - no BASIS equivalency level between other systems may exist in order for payroll to carry out its purpose

[iPhone] auto-rotation problems

I'm having a really tough time getting auto-rotation to work properly.
My biggest problem is most of my application only works in Portrait mode, but there is one view (with subviews) and a controller that handles landscape (it displays an image). When I rotate the device to landscape mode while this view is up, then cause this controller to pop back to the previous controller (a navigation controller), the rest of the interface is now in landscape mode instead of portrait, which is messing up my other portrait only views. I expected that popping my landscape-supporting controller would revert the interface to portrait, since none of the other controllers support landscape.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
And is there a way to "force" the device into landscape mode when a landscape image is selected? See I have a image picker controller (portrait), and when I pick a landscape image I'd ideally like to just have my image viewer (and subviews) show up in landscape mode - like how Movie Player does it.
I know this is possible, but I haven't figured out how yet.

I am having the same problem that you have descibed below. Did you ever find a solution? I have tried all types of possible solutions but cannot get the previous view to revert back to portrait as well.

Supporting locking landscape orientation

It's really convinent to lock the landscape orientation when reading. So will the future version of reader support it ?

The only thing, what is necessary, is to NOT support iPhone upside down orientation. I can't imagine a case when somebody needs to read PDF and hold iPhone in upside down position.
If upside down orientation is not supported and you turn iPhone to this position (e.g. when uou read in bed), the screen remains in landscape orientation and that is the desired efect. None Apple application support upside down orientation. See for example apps: iBooks, Safari, Messages, Email, Notes, Calendar, Music, ...

As per my knowledge there is no "ESA landscape" .
ESA is a methodology, its not a product nor a design for single product . You can realize ESA ( ESOA - now ) using Netweaver.
Now you implement full netweaver stack you have ESA landscape .
Now your question is How to operate and support Netweaver,???

I know how to apply the support pack in SAP system, but I am interesting to know the standard process practice to apply Support pack in 3 tier Landscape system. For e.g we have development server -
 QA -
 PRD
What is the process to apply support pack in above mention landscape system.
I would like to request all expert help me understand this.

Hi,
If you have only one common transport directory then you have to uncar the files only once.
Uncar should be done once per transport directory.
Before performing the import of support packages if you have done any changes to standard sap programsthen you have to lock them in the reqests and while importing the support packages u have to perofrm spau and spdd adjustments any ways sap will allow you this prior to abap screen generation.
First you have apply the patches on test and then qa and then prd. Make sure you have recent spam/saint update installed.
Also perofrm a kernal upgrade after updating the spam/saint.
Perform a full and tlog backup before importing support pacakges.Because sap does not support uninstalling of support packages.

Landscape for Support packupgrade

Hi ,
Currently we are in BW3.5 support pack 12 with the landscape DEV1->Qty1->Prod.
We want to upgrad ethe support pact to 24, but basis team wants to create a different landscape like DEV2->QTY2->Prod for support pack upgrade. This is to avoid any waitign time for production fixes that needs to be transported.
So is there any alternative approach/es by using the same landscape.

There are multiple ways to do this - one of the approiaches is to have DEV2 --> QTY2 --> PROD
another approach is
Copy Dev into a sandbox - SND1 --> Upgrade SND1 -> then test the requires things in SND1.
then start upgrade of DEV1 , at this time - open QA for any major critical transports into Production
Then once DEV1 is complete - you are in a production freeze and might require PRD to be opened for critical changes and then once QTY is done upgrade PRD...
This is okay for smaller systems and the upgrade time taken - if you add a unicode upgrade to this you will get longer downtimes and you will have to look at the number of emergency fixes that might be required and take a decision appropriately.

Is it possible to export an interactive PDF that supports landscape and portrait orienations?

From the reading/Adobe TV/Classroom in a Book stuff that I have seen so far it always comes down to publishing something for the Apple app store. I don't want to do this. I want to design a nice pdf document that I can load on to specific people's iPad's. I don't want just anyone to be able to purchase my content. Is this possible?

My specific application is that my company is giving away iPad's that we are preloading with an original ebook of ours. I'd like to do more than simply dump a pdf on to each iPad- ideally I want to develop a book that changes landscape as the iPad does. I don't want my end users to have to have Adobe IDs and so I'm just wondering if this is possible, or if I will have to settle for a single orientation.

- When list item only 1 or 2, It's still in center so margin Left and Right so much. I want if number of item not fill screen width it must Alignment with left. And if width of item over screen size it must auto next row and center all in Screen.

Landscape Verification - new support pack

Hi,
Where can I download SP for ST-LV 100?
When I look into:
Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group" SAP Technology Components" LV FOR SOLUTION MANAGER" LV 1.0 FOR SOLUTION MANAGER
Support packs for this component is missing.
But in note 1485671 is : Correction delivered in Support Package SAPK-10001INSTLV.

The support pack is not missing. It has yet to be released.
You are looking at a note that is for ST-LV 100 w/o support pack.
Notes will indicate in which support pack the note correction will be included, as support packages are collections of code corrections, where releases offer new functionality, typically.
When ST-LV 100 SP1 is released, then you would know at a glance that this Note is included in the SP level.
It does not necessarily mean the SP level is released.
The Lanscape Verification tool is a new tool, so all this note is identifying is that it's corrections will be contained in the first Support Package. This tool just recently came out of ramp-up. I would guess the SP1 would be available sometimes in January, but that is just a guess.
