I am trying to get clarification if the Cisco 7960G phone which are currently end of life are supported with the UC500 series.
Hello.
Yes, the x7960 works with the UC520.
For transparency, here's the output of the load command on a UC520 running current sw.
Hope this helps.

CUCM Line Group 2 Not Ringing Phone
Good morning,
I have encountered a weird issue and was wonder if anyone here could provide some insight before I send it up to TAC.
I have a Hunt Pilot (HP)/ Hunt List (HL) and the HL has 3 Line Groups (LG) associated to it. Example LG configuration is below.
LG1: 1001, 1002, 1003
LG2: 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004
LG3: 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005
All LGs are set to RNA of 15s and broadcast.
Call comes in and hits LG1. 1001, and 1002 are on the phone so they do not receive a notification and 1003 just doesn't answer call even though 1003 is the only one ringing. Call rolls to LG2 and 1001, and 1002 are still on phone, but 1003 and 1004 don't answer even though those two phones are only ringing. Before the call rolls to LG3, 1001 hangs up the phone. Now when the call rolls to LG3, 1001 doesn't ring. The only phones that ring are now 1003, 1004, and 1005. 1002 is still on the phone from the beginning and this is expected of course but why doesn't 1001 ring even though the phone is on hook and was put on hook before the call went to LG3?
Phone Types: 6921, 7821, 7942, 7962
Phone FW: 6921 - SCCP 9.4.1.3, 7942 - SCCP 9.3.1ES13, 7962 - SCCP 9.3.1ES13, 7821 - 10.1.1ES6
CM Version: 9.1.2.10000-28
Thanks,Anyone?

78xx not appearing in ephone list on router....
Hello all,
Recently we installed the specified 78xx firmware and device pack to accommodate the these phones on our CUCM environment which is working fine...
However we have quite a few 2911 branch routers where we have setup phones (MGCP) and SRST etc... However, when i list ephones "show ephone ?", I noticed the 78xx phones are not listed (as below). Not sure why not?

Is there something else I have to do on a router perspective for these phones and SRST?
Any help much appreciated!
Cheers!Yes,
Bit confusing as table reference that it should be supported however I have now also seen other threads where they say not supported till "Summer" 2014 and that is even on CUCME 10.x
Might log a TAC to see what the deal is as all the table indicate that I am on the correct versions both IOS and CUCM -
My UCCX is 8.5 su3 ,CME is 8.5.When the IP phone agent loggin ,the screen display "The extension you entered is not associated with this agent ID. Verify the extension and try again"
The CME config in the Attach file.
I have creat agent on UCCX server.
I have read the Cisco Unified CallManager Express System Administrator Guide,Cisco Unified Contact Center Express Solution Reference Network Design Guide. But I can't find out how to handle this problem.Hi,
I hope you are using the compatible CME IOS image,
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
->Details of CME/IOS version mapping can be found at
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/33matrix.htm
->Only SCCP Phones are supported as Agent Phones with Unified CME. Refer to "Cisco Unified IP Phone Support" section from the respective Cisco Unified CME
Supported Firmware, Platforms, Memory, and Voice Products web page. For example, for Cisco Unified CME 7.1, go to: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/cme71spc.htm, and scroll down to view the "Cisco Unified IP Phone Support" table.
c. Cisco IP Phones 6911, 6921, 6941, 6945, 6961, 8961, 9951, 9971 are not supported as Agent Phones with Unified CME
If everything is ok and you are still facing the issue, than I would suggest you to appraoch TAC for further help.
Thanks,
Anand -

CP-7942G displaying wrong time, CME 8.1
CME 8.1 - IOS ver 15.1(2)T1 - All IP phones (type 6921, 7962) are showing the correct time (according to the time zone) except the 7942G (it shows the GMT time without the zone from the router or from the telephony service applied). On the 'Device Information' the phone does not shows any time zone although the time-zone command under telephony-service is there.

Troubleshooting Incorrect Time Stamp on IP Phones in Cisco Unified CME

After changing the time-zone setting you could follow these steps.
Usage Guidelines
This command works with the vendorConfig section of the Sep*.conf.xml configuration file, which is read by the phone firmware when the Cisco IP Phone is booted up. Certain phones, such as the Cisco Unified IP Phone 7906 , 7911, 7931, 7941, 7942, 7945, 7961, 7962, 7965, 7970 , 7971, and 7975, obtain Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) from the clock of the Cisco router. To display the correct local time, the time display on these phones must be offset by using this command.
This command is not required for Cisco Unified IP Phone 7902G, 7905G, 7912G, 7920, 7921, 7935, 7936, 7940, 7960, or 7985G.
For changes to the time-zone settings take effect, the Sep*.conf.xml file must be updated by using the create cnf-files command and the Cisco IP phones must rebooted by using the reset command.

Forward two different dial numbers at the same time to the same destination
Hello everybody,
I need to forward two different dial numbers in the same phone (Cisco 6921) to the same destination.
I'd change the phone if it'll be necessary.
Forward from the end user web is not a valid posibility. It is neccesary to do this forward from the phone.
Any idea, suggestion or testing scenario should be appreciated.
I use CUCM 8.5
Thanks in advance.you can mask the other number by using translation pattern

Hi,
I Need to change the local directory search from last-name-first TO first-name-first.

service local-directory
service dnis dir-lookup
directory first-name-first
directory entry 1 NUMBER NAME
create cnf-files
restarted the phones and UC540..
IP PHONE model 6921
IP PHONE model 7965
uc540
System image file is "flash:/uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.151-4.M5"
it is default from cisco in cme that we cannot change last-name-first TO first-name-first.Mohammed Saber Uddin wrote:no directory first-name-first didnt work out !! still shows last-name-first in phone directory...
That makes sense. If you want first name first, then configure that.
Users want to search it by first-name-first ( first name first and last name last ) ...
The search form cannot be changed. Just fill values in the correct field. -
6921 Wall Mount - The Clip to keep the phone on hook keeps falling out!!
Has anyone experienced this issue with the 6921 on-hook clips. We turn the clip around when the phone is wall mounted and it hold the phone in. But it comes out so easily, as soon as you lift the handset out it pulls the clips out!!! we have like 30 - 6921 phones that have done this. I need to know if its possible to get spare 6921 clips, because we need them, anyone have an info on this? Thanks
no, All the vendors I talked with say the phone is too new and not worth the money to fabricate yet. Not enough call for them.

We are a school system deploying a new Unified Communications Manager with Unity Voicemail. We will be placing 6921 phones in our classrooms. Some of these clasrooms are shared by two teachers and the plan is to give each teacher a unique extension number and voicemail mailbox. In the shared rooms, this amounts to using both lines on the 6921 and having two mailboxes.
The system is not in and live yet, but we are trying to work through some of the issues we know we'll encounter. One problem that we are trying to solve is how to indicate the presence of new voicemail messages for each user in the room. We are hearing from our vendor that they do not know of a way to indicate message waiting for both lines on a 6921. Unfortunately they have no experience with the 6921 phones, so they are basing this on guesswork. They cannot verify this as their lab is running UCM 6.x. We are installing 7.1, but have rights to upgrade to 8.0 if necessary.
We are hoping that the phone can indicate distinct message waiting for each line in some fashion. The documentation seems to indicate that this might be possible. We are even OK if the message waiting indicator lights for a message in either mailbox and the users would need to pick up their line and check for a stutter dial tone, but we do not know if this will work either. What we want to avoid is a situation where only one (or neither) extension activates the message waiting indicator and one (or both) users would need to periodically check their voicemail mailbox, or pick up the phone to check for stutter dial tone.
Has anyone deployed 6921s in this fashion and know if there is a way to have distinct message waiting indicators for both lines on a 6921? If so, how does it work? Is it a distinct light, or a distinct message on the display?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
MarkHi Mark -
Here's something that might help you - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cuipph/6921_6941_6961/8_0/english/user/guide/book/6921enu801.pdf
It is the Unified IP Phone Guide which discusses the 6921 phone. It discusses phone features that can be configured in CUCM for the phones - the two I think you are interested in: (1) Visual Message Waiting and (2) Audible Message Waiting. The AMWI is the stutter dial tone you referenced, heard when the user presses the line button to go off-hook. Although I don't have personal experience with the 69XX phone series yet, I do have experience with dual-line phones like the 794X. For your shared phone with two lines, both configured for a voicemail profile, here is something that will probably apply to the 6921: The Messages button on the phone is the voicemail speed-dial (Easy message access) for the primary line on the phone. For voicemail users on the second line, for the same functionality, users will press the second line to go off-hook and then press the Messages button. Unity voicemail will recognize the calling number as a subscriber and prompt for password/PIN. Also, check out the System Policy in CUCM for the directory number configuration, which allows the Visual MWI to be set for secondary lines (Light and prompt), otherwise the typical default is just to light and prompt for the primary line.
Sincerely,
Ginger -
CP-6921-C-K9 as SIP phone on CUCM 6?
Can a CP-6921-C-K9 phone be used as a third party SIP device on CUCM 6?
We will be upgrading soon to a new version of CUCM where 6921 would be supported but for now can we get them to work on CUCM 6 as SIP phones?
Regards. It looks like the SIP support is even later in the 7.1.x line. No documented operation as 3rd party SIP that I can find.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/collaboration-endpoints/unified-ip-phone-6921/data_sheet_c78-541534.html
The phones are supported in Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition Versions 7.1.2 and later using Skinny Client Control Protocol (SCCP) or SIP with Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unified Communications Manager Business Edition Versions 7.1.5 and later.
