What version of PS? In Creative Cloud you change the language setting in the CC app prefs. For any version before that the language is fixed since it's tied to the serial number in combination with the installer.

CS4 Photoshop Installer Hangs

When I try installing Adobe Photoshop, the installer will pop the setup for a second or two, close it and continue system checking at 80%. Ive tried all the things the said on the Knowledge Base, and still cant get it to work ( This page to be precise http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407428.html ) It Shows in Add/Remove that Photoshop is installed, yet if I hit the button to remove it, it Crashes the setup. The Photoshop installer has always been garbage. You didn't post your operating system so try this:
Turn off any anti-virus and windows defender.
If you have Adobe reader installed remove it.
Defrag the hard drive before install. I would run defrag again after install.
If you DON'T have Vista SP2 installed or Windows 7: Download and install the windows installer 4.5 as it fixed many software install issues.

Now is CS4 a trial downloaded from the Adobe site? If so then there is nothing you can do.
If you have downloaded the paid version off the adobe website put the whole folder on the desktop and run the .exe file, in the folder, as Admin.
If you have purchased a PS CS4 CD put the disk in the DVD drive and let it start but don't run the software. Close out of it. what you want to try is go to your computer and find the DVD drive and open or explore. Look for the .exe file, right click on that and choose run as administrator.
When you get it installed remember to run the software as Admin too. also remember to update the software to 11.0.1
If the software is installed messed up you need to run the CS4 cleaner. don't run it as 1 or 2 level, type in level 3.
also search your hard drive for any remaining adobe folders and remove them.

Change the default language of an existing SAP Portal

Our SAP Portal works with two languages, Spanish and English. The default language is Spanish, but since the company is becoming more international, we want to set the default language to English. Need to know if you can change the default language of an existing SAP Portal.
Specifically, it is the case of the standard UWL notifications, which are sent by mail in Spanish. For tasks defined in the application, the message is personalized and sent in two languages at once. However, when the task is not defined, notifications arrive in the default language, which is now Spanish. Could anyone tell me if I change it?

I hope you are well and many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums .
In relation to the scenario that you have described regarding the language setting for EP and the UWL.
The language that the portal is displayed in depends on the following heirarchy, with the languages at the top of the list taking precedenceover those at the bottom:
1.Component (iview) language (defined in the portalapp.xml)
2.Portal Mandatory language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
3.User language (defined in the user#s profile).
4.Request language (defined by the browser).
5.Portal Default language (defined in the prtDefault.properties)
6.System Default language (default locale defined by the OS).
So for example, if you have your portal user language (as in point 3)set to Czech, but the language of the iView that is the logon page (as in point 1) set to English, that logon page will be displayed in English.
Regarding the navigation path for the prtDefault.properties kindly refer to the SAP Documentation outlined below which provides a detailed summary and walkthrough regarding the language settings.

How to change default language in an existing document?

I have created several documents, all with tables in them (lots of text in tables). All of these were created when the default language was English. As I am typing all of these documents in Australian English (same as British English) I am getting lots of red underlines on word that Pages thinks are incorrectly spelt.
How can I do a global change of the text to Australaian English (or any other language for that matter). If I do Select All within the document it does not select the text in the tables so for the moment it looks like I have to select each cell individually to change the language. This will take hours, Surely there is a simpler method to to a global language change.

Update all the styles after you have changed the language.
Insert the cursor in the sample style > Styles Drawer > click on the red triangle next to the style > Redefine Style from selection
Save your document. If you need this for future documents save as a template.
You should have set your system language to Australian English and it would have defaulted to that.

Language changed to russian

I am using iTunes 11 on Windows 7. I installed the English version of iTunes. It worked fine for a couple of days but suddenly the language changed to Russian or another similar language. Can't really say what language it was since I don't know it. I uninstalled, cleaned up the registry and reinstalled iTunes but surprisingly the language was still not English.
Any idea what the reason can be?

Well I eventually found the English on the drop down menu on the General Preferences tab and changed the language back to English. But nevertheless, I find it very strange that the language changed with no reason.
I don't think the installation was corrupted since it worked for a couple of days after the install without any issue. I synced my phone, listened to music and updated the apps without any problem. A reinstallation didn't solve the problem. So I uninstalled all Apple related software and cleaned the install folders and configuration files on the harddrive as much as I could and cleaned up the Windows registry. However, after a clean reinstallation of the English version of iTunes, the language still remained the same non-English language. So there must have been a configuration file some where left on the harddrive. But isn't strange that the existing configuration file was not overwritten by the new installation? I tried the same installation with another user account on the same computer and the language was not English.

I'm sorry but it's very hard to understand what you mean. What filter menu? In which program? Do you mean you're trying to use PSE as an external editor with some other asset management program? Which one?

Language change makes me unable to log on my Macbook!

So yesterday I changed my language from English to Vietnamese. My computer went on sleep. When I tried to log on, it didn't show up the dots(for the password field). I'm thinking the language change has messed up the keyboards! Could anyone tell me how to fix the problem? I really need to log on my computer as soon as possible. Thank you so much.

It would block usage of all the startup keys, like C, N, T, D, CMD+s, CMD+Option+p+r, CMD +v, Option, and Shift, as well as booting from anything but the Hard Drive.
Force Removing Password Protection
1) Add or remove DIMMs to change the total amount of RAM in the computer.
2) Then, the PRAM must be reset 3 times. (Command + Option + P + R).

Just updated CC 2014, Photoshop launches with message to run Photoshop Installer: where is this?

On updating Photoshop CC 2014 and launching I get a dialog, "One or more files in the Adobe Application Support folder, necessary for sunning Photoshop, are missing. Please run the Photoshop installer and reinstall Photoshop."

This update also wiped all my extensions without warning, not so cool Adobe.

Sometimes uninstalling old versions can take out common files. I uninstalled CS4 only to get errors with CS6. I had to reinstall CS6 to get rid of the errors.
In any case you may want to keep/install CC for a while. The extensions technology has changed and what ran in CC, won't in CC 2014.
If you depend on your legacy extensions, at least you want to hold on to CC until they are updated. And of course if any glitches show up in 2014.2 and future updates, you may want CC as a backup until it's corrected.

Only way to get iMac starting again was to re-install 10.4.4 from DVD, and then update it into 10.4.6. For a while it worked perfectly, just as before.
Then I tried to print to CD with my EPSON Stylus Photo 950 from Adobe Photoshop Elements (2.0). It didn't print anything, but printer started flashing all lights. The print job was not performed, so I did remove it from the Printer Utility. After that the iMac started "ticking" again, same noise than before, after 10.4.7 installation. I did re-boot iMac. It never started, it does stuck on gray screen (gray block running clockwise). HW test from DVD didn't find any problems (extended search looping 3 times). But Disk Utility found hard drive to have inaccurate node structure, it could not fix it.
Apple support recommended to use DiskWarrior. However, it does not support (yet) Intel Macs. I haven't got TechTool Pro 4.5.1 anywhere. iMac does start on to FireWire mode (T at boot), but I cannot see the disk from 10.2.8 iMac.
So, obvisously the problem is not 10.4.7. I believe it to be ESPON printer driver compatibility on Mac OSX. This does not suprise me, EPSON printers *****, I shall never purchase one again. However, disk catalog structure should not get messed by one faulty printer driver!

Larch-4 testing, can also 'livify' existing Arch installation

I've uploaded a testing repository for larch-4 to:

It has some added features which need testing - especially with USB, which is difficult for me to test because my computers are rather old and don't support USB boot.
It should now be possible to adjust the session-saving behaviour without modifying the larch scripts - additional scripts (hooks / event-handlers, call them what you will ...) can be placed in a 'scripts' folder in the root directory of the boot device (using the profile mechanism) to adjust loading and saving of overlay files. Initial description (sorry, it's still rather sketchy) in the session-saving doc page.
The home directory is now a separate sqf (not overlayed).
Added options to mklarch to build a CD/USB-stick from an existing Arch installation. This can be done, for example, from a live CD (using the -x option) or even from the system itself while it is running (option -X). This could be rather dangerous - don't do it on your main installation. I've tried it out - without obvious damage - on a test installation, and it looked quite promising, but be careful.
Added option -r to mklarch to ensure regeneration of base and system sqfs when 'reusing' an installation (with options -b, -x, -X).
Changed the place where the live CD is built (default /home/larchroot) and the structure within this folder. The installation is now made directly to this location and the building is done in subfolder .larch, where the final iso also lands.
To use it, just copy the larch-setup.sh script to an empty folder and run it (as before). Then you have the new mklarch set up and ready to go.

If you're running the system you want to save, yes. But from your description it sounds like you're doing something else. Do I understand correctly that you have some other system unrelated to sda2 on sda3 and you want to run mklarch from sda3? And what you want to livify is sda2? Then you need to do something like:
# mount -o dev,exec /dev/sda2 /mnt/sda2
# ./mklarch -x /mnt/sda2
Note the small 'x'.

Sorry, I have no idea about gensplash. If it's supported by Arch then it should work with larch too, but it's not something in which I have any interest.

I hope I didn't write that. You might need that much free space to build a 700MB CD, but a more accurate estimate of what fits would be about 2GB. If you want more you'll need correspondingly more free space and a DVD or a large USB-stick.

It just packs up what it finds at the mount point, so if you've got other stuff mounted within the system (I guess in your case you probably haven't) don't be surprised if it tries to pack that up too. I think (I hope!) it ignores stuff mounted within /mnt and /media, but I'd have to look at the code again to be sure. For people who have /home or /var or whatever on separate partitions it is necessary to mount these before running mklarch.
If you use 'mklarch -X' (big 'X') to build a live CD from the currently running system, all the mounts should be ok anyway, but I think that in general building from a separate system, as you seem to want to do might be slightly safer.
In any case, please back up anything important before running mklarch - just in case! It runs as root and could do all sorts of nasty things. I don't think it will, but don't blame me if it feeds your grandmother to the ravenous bugblatter beast of Traal
