Language detection on skype site

Dear people,
The language detection for the skype site in the BENELUX (Belgium, the netherlands and luxembourg) is horrible. I receive e-mails in french and whenever I visit the skype site, it's in french. Only a small minority speaks french, and they are situated in a very clear regional area, so GEOIP should be able to do it's work.
Please please please fix this.

Custom SharePoint Connector with FAST: Language Detection

Hello. I've got a custom SharePoint 2010 Connector working with FAST.
Almost works fine, but there is a little problem: FAST doesn't want to detect language.
And when I set any language in Advanced Search I've got empty results, because property DetectedLanguage is empty.
So, I've tried to set default fallback language (as it shows in

But it doesn't help.
p.s. In SharePoint 2013 it works.

According to your description, my understanding is that set default fallback language does not work in your SharePoint 2010.
For your issue, you need to install the April 2012 Cumulative Update for FAST Search for SharePoint 2010 which allows you to define a fallback language and character set when automatic detection of the language and encoding fails.

Automatic browser language detection

I'm trying to test if this feature of forms 6i patch 9 really works. But it doesn't work in our server. We are adding next in formsweb.cfg

when we try the URL http://www.server.com/servlet/f60servlet?config=test it works fine, but when we change the default language in the browser to en-us, and we try the same URL, then it appears in the same language that the first. We are thinking that the second entry in the formsweb.cfg is not right.
Does anybody try this feature of this version???

I found an even easier way to switch languages: Language Switcher. Open *Language Switcher*, pick iWeb from the row of applications, select the language you want to use from the dropdown menu, and click "Launch".
By now I've tested it myself, and it works as expected: all new iWeb templates, buttons etc. appear in the chosen language, while previously made sites/pages remain in the language you created them in.
If you name your site after the language they're made in, even the folder structure looks just like a professional site! (like Apple.com: http://www.apple.com/fr/, http://www.apple.com/es/ ...)
Now I only have to look for some nice language buttons to include in my site!

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Mobile devise not detecting Muse mobile site

I have published my site which has a desktop, mobile and tablet versions. My smart phone is not detecting the mobile site, it displays the desktop site. HELP!!

Thanks for the reply Aish. I resolved the issue. It looks like when you only Publish the site to the temporary Catalyst site, it must not publish the different versions of the site separately. I exported ast HTML and uploaded via FTP to my site and it worked! Now I can see the appropriate sites in their respective platforms.

I want to have the three possibilities in every page, and the people to be able to choice the appropiate language

Works for me on Linux in Firefox 3.6.x and 4.0.1.
However that is a font face="Wingdings 2" and such fonts that remap the basic ASCII set are not supported.<br />
It is better to use Unicode replacements.

Good to hear this is already being worked on.
When we tried to work around the "Automatic detection" bug - changing the "Application Language Derived From" to "Application Preference" or "Session" - we hit issue that some page processes were not firing in translated application.

Language/Localization problem with Site Studio

I have created a small site using Site Studio. Now in the homepage, there is a select option box where the user have to choose a language (English or Japanese) based on which the text on the page should get converted in a particular language.
So for this, I have created a custom component where I have defined strings in the following way:
<@ja.wwMyString=My String in Japanese@>
<@fr.wwMyString=My String in French@>
<@en.wwMyString=My String in English@>
And when I see the text on the browser, it displays "My String in English" because the SystemLocale value is set as 'English-US'. So I need a way by which I can change the Locale of the site. So I have 2 questions:
1. How can I achieve the same?
2. Is my approach correct? Maybe there are better ways to do the same. I guess there will be a lot of manual work if I follow the approach described above.

Language selection on support site partial impossible

Oh god, who had this idea with the language selection on Support and Download site?
Now i have purchased a wide screen-ThinkPad to reduce the horizontal scrolling but the new support site plays its own game.
If i want to select "United States English" i have no chance to see and select it:

The horizontal scrollbar appears as well as the language list after i clicked on "Germany -- Deutsch" at the top of the page.
The crazy "Feedback"-field in the lower right corner hides several languages to select.
If i move the cursor to the scrollbar the language list disappears. - Great, well done!
Why is it so difficult to use the visible part of the display? On the left hand there is more than the half screen size unused to display the language list!!
Please tell the web-programmer to test on a single - display ThinkPad!!!!! in the future but not with two displays and enlarged desktop or 21:9 display.

Hei. This is not shown on the website, itself. It is like this only in the file manager /public_html/www directory on the server I use. There the downloaded files
have the titles of the pages without these vocals. I´ve send a request to the webhotel company I use and the only answer I´ve got was not to use these vocals.
This can´t be a solution. I had to change the title of the pages on iWeb, like from
interiørdesign to interiordesign, f.ex. but this isn´t the way the word is written in norwegian. I am afraid I am not visible in search enginees (google)in norway (which) is the market I adress, because of this.
I have lounged my site since april 2010 and still I don´t appear in a search even in the 20th page or something.

I live in Hong Kong because my job brought me here. I don't speak Chinese. I don't read Chinese. I don't even understand Chinese. When I log on to your desktop client, everything appears in English. When I log on to skype.com, everything appears in English. So please tell me why do you have to send me offers, news, surveys, and everything else in Chinese. I don't even know if you are sending the stuff to me in traditional or simplified Chinese and I don't want to copy and paste your email into GOOGLE Translate to understand what you are promoting. I went through account settings various times but I can't find any setting to change default language for all email communications.
I represent not only myself but a lot of friends I have made here in Hong Kong who literally go through the same pain. I have intentionally subscribed to Skype news and communications. But I am about receiving 1 or 2 more emails in an alient language away before I permanently block all Skype communications. And permanently blocking would be a lose-lose scenario for both of us because I really like Skype.
Anyways, the main point from this message is how do I change the language of all your email communications?

Cannot update passowrd or profile. Skype site need...

PROBLEM: Password change and profile change are completely impossible.
Clicking on Skype's MANAGE PROFILE, I found that the Skype change password page has only one typable text box. I can put my OLD password in, but the new password and retype the new passowrd values are unclickable, untypable. So there is no way to change my password.
When updating my profile, I want to change my old skype name. However, pressing the save button loads a page with a line of gibberish, something like <49four . pngk.. .--> <-----3 311=hsu gh67,,----> all the way across the top and blank below. Checking to see if profile saved? Nope. Same thing. So there is no way to change my profle.
Downlaoded new Skype (again). Same problem. Restart computer, etc etc. It is not me, it is surely the site.
These seem like basic things that all of these millions of skype users need to do every day. Thanks in advance for fixing this as soon as possible. Which should be soon considering this is a safety issue as well as a personal preference issue.

I see the reason why you are annoyed, let's see if the below mentioned steps work for the Creative Cloud Desktop App.
Solution 1:
Step 1. Rename 'OOBE' from :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
C:\Users\(UserName)\AppData\Local\Adobe
Step 2. Download Creative Cloud Desktop App from : https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
Step 3. Right click and pick "run application as administrator"
Solution 2:
Step 1. Open Task manager by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys together.
Step 2. Go to 'Processes'.
Step 3. Kill Acrotray also search for other conflicting processes for more information on it, kindly check the link mentioned below.

Is there a way to detect when a user is leaving a site and
cause a pop up warning window in Cold Fusion?

Probably not, given that there are so many ways to do it.
Plus, if someone is leaving the site using a method you didn't
provide, it's probably intentional and all the pop up will do is
annoy him.

Language detection

Hi.
I'm making a website with both english and french version of it. Now i have no-to-little idea how to make the website detect the language of the OS or the browser and then automatiquely redirect the viewer to the propre index, Fr or Us.
I'm kinda a novice in html, but when i google my probleme, i find people saying that this java code...

Changing language detection

I will create one app that will use 2 languages, I know that the app will use the same language of the OS, but I would like to know how to detect the language to update my custom tabs (using html+js).
Is there any support on the DPS api to detect this?

Now your answer created 2 new doubts:
1) On the app "Porsche Christophorus", they did exactly what I did (created a area to change language on Ipad settings), and I belive they used DPS in there.
2) If I create the option to change the language on a custom UI of my library. How will I change the language of the tabs and the folio viewer? I undertand I could change the texts of my HTML, but how could I change the texts that belong to the DPS?
