Language display in other language in message box

Dear all,
Our company upgraded from R/3 4.7 to ECC6.0 on last November and our SAP system allows two logon languages(i.e EN - English and ZF - Traditional Chinese).
After Upgrade, I found that some message box shows in the language GE when we login by ZF.
For example:
in the transaction IW29, after we retrieved the data and  download the result to spreadsheet  via ,  the message box shows "Daten in der Tabellenkalkulation sollten gespeichert werden"
Can I ask how can I solve the problem?
Many thanks
Sunny

• How can i display a message box when error comes in jsp?

Hi,
i need to display a message box whenever an error comes in my jsp. Actually my appln is that i am creating a bar chart using one applet by taking data from the database. When a user does not select a number data for y axis, now in the centre of the web page one java error is coming. "not in number format". it is looking very odd.
so i want to display the error in a message box whenever it comes as above. pls help me how can i do the same...
Regds,
Abhi...

Hi,
thanx for ur response. so u mean to say that i can
display the errors in the web page itself instead of
displaying as a message box?Either way. You can have the JSP send a message to the applet to display a message box. Or you can just have the JSP do it. or you can have the applet detremine if the JSP would produce an error and then display the message it would display.
>
actually i am using servlets. jsp pages are used only
as the front end. all the background works are doing
in servlet only.It should be the same in any case. Is the applet connecting to the JSP pages or are you having the browser do it?

• Getting the message from a Cancel event Message Box

Hi there,
I would like to know if a user select from menu in SAP 8.8 Data-> Cancel.  We get a message box for confirmation Yes/No user wants to cancel the document so that it is status is changed to cancel.  I would like to know how can you get the message and the caption from that message box in order to know the appropriate action to take with respect to the form type.  In purchare order, when you select cancel, the message box has a caption "Purchase Order" and the text of the message box is "Cancelling a document is irreversible. Document status will be changed to "Canceled" and the document will not appear in the Sales/Purchase analysis reports. Do you want to continue?"
I want to know how may I  get these two piece of information.  Actually I know there is a button caption property but I must know the message in order to distinguish in code which is 'YES' is clicked.
Any help or lead will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

This seems to be an SDK question so it would be better to post it in the SDK forum as you will get way more answers; alot less of the experts come in to the B1i forum.
Anyways, I will suggest an answer but I'd ask you close this thread and continue it in the SDK forum if you still have issues.
The form in question has form type = 0 so my method of achieving this would be:
1. Catch the Item Pressed event on form with typeEx == 0 and BeforeAction == true.
2. Check if Form.Title == "Purchase Order".
3. Now to check the text - first of all, before coding, go to View->System Information. Now go to a PO and select Cancel; hover the mouse over the text on the form, you will see that the three lines of text are actually labels with UIDs 7, 1000001 and 1000002. In your code you can check if the Label with ItemUID == 7 has the text "Cancelling a document is....etc etc"
4. If it does have that text you now know the user has clicked a button on that form.
6. If not, they have some other type of message box open
7. Check which button they clicked: pVal.ItemUID == 1 means it was Yes, pVal.ItemUID == 2 means it was No
Hope it helps

• How to display Forms messages in other language?

Hi Folks
I have installed Forms and Reports Services 10g (9.0.4.0) in a Linux RHAS3 box
and deploy my applications with IE, the messages are in English (e.g.
frm-40100: At first record) now I want to change to Spanish.
I try to modify the default.env, with the follow variables:
NLS_LANG=SPANISH_SPAIN.WE8ISO8859P1
NLS_LANG=LATIN AMERICAN SPANISH.WE8ISO8859P1
and restart the OC4J_BI_FORMS component, but the message don't change to
Spanish.
Please, could you say me in which file I have to change the NLS_LANG? and which .msb file I need to display the messages in other language?
Thanks and regards,
Wilson

Hi,
1. Set the nls_lang=language_territory.characterset in the default.env or any
custom .env file.
2. Check whether the required language's .msb file exists in
<iAS_MidTier>\forms90
Note: With 9iAS rel 1 all the supported language’s .msb files are installed by
default. For 9iDS and 9iAS rel 2 and above this has to be done explicitly by selecting the "Product Languages" option.
3. The Locale of the Client PC (Windows), which displays the Form in browser,
has to be set to the same nls_lang. Only then you would be able to see the
Form's characters in that language.

• Text Messaging in Japanese (or other language with non-Roman script)

Is it possible to send/receive text messages written in non-Roman characters with Verizon?
More specifically, I'm using a Droid 2 with Verizon, and I'm trying to text a friend in Japanese.  She has an iPhone (AT&T), and is physically in the U.S. (so I'm not asking about international text messaging).  I've already installed apps on my Droid (e.g. OpenWNN, or Simeji) to input Japanese, which work fine in and of themselves, and the Droid of course displays Japanese text or other languages just fine on the Browser or in E-mails.
However, I'm having lots of trouble with Text Messaging.  When I send a message containing Japanese text (typed in perfectly fine with OpenWNN or whatever), she either never gets the message, or the text comes out unreadable (as ???????).  Messages with a mix of Roman and non-Roman characters typically show the Roman characters ok, but the non-Roman ones (i.e. Japanese) are garbled.  If she sends me a message containing any non-Roman characters, I generally don't get the message at all (i.e. not even garbled-- just no message at all).   This deficiency seems to be specific to Text Messaging, as far as I can tell.  I can send and receive e-mails containing Japanese just fine, read foreign language web pages, and type in Japanese into search boxes on those web pages and so on with the Droid.  However, sending an e-mail message to (myphone#)@vtext.com, predictably, results in any Japanese text being garbled, though Roman characters come through just fine.
Is this perhaps something specific to Verizon's network?  Or is text messaging in non-Roman scripts just inherently impossible?  My friend says she knows others who can successfully text in non-Roman scripts (e.g. Korean Hangul, Japanese Kana or Kanji), and claims some of these folks are Verizon customers too.  A search on droidforums.com yielded someone who supposedly could text in Korean within Verizon.  So, I'm hoping this is possible, and I'm just missing something. However, this is perhaps all secondhand information and rumor.
(Incidentally, I know for certain that messaging with non-Roman scripts is possible in general.  During my last vacation in Japan, I rented a phone there, and could send messages in English or Japanese scripts.  However, I believe the phones there actually have their own e-mail addresses, and so the service there is more like regular e-mail-- my understanding is that text messaging as we know it in the U.S. is a distinct technology, though I could well be wrong.)
So, to restate my question: is it possible to text message with non-Roman scripts with Verizon?  Has anyone out there done this successfully-- if so what did you do, or what app did you use?  Or is it in fact impossible? (e.g. Maybe text messaging here only uses 7 or 8 bits, instead of 14 or 16 needed to encode all the various Asian, European, and other scripts?)
Thanks for any help available.

I'm trying to figure this out as well, but my understanding on the matter is that Verizon's CDMA network uses unicode which will display, roman characters, loa, thai, and serveral other languages, but not hirigana, kanji, katakana, or simplified or traditional chinese.  The Romaji should work however.  It would be nice to hear some input from a Verizon rep on the subject, because like you my info is all second hand.
If my understanding is correct, the simple answer is no, it's not possible.

Hi,
Try using SET LANGUAGE or SET LOCALE LANGUAGE commands.
Make sure that the messages are translated and exist in ITALY before you do this.
Also this will effect only TEXT ELEMENTS not the Message in the message class that is T100 messages are not effected.

• Itunes 10: East Asian languages displayed as boxes in certain areas

I just got a new computer, and moved all my music to my new computer, and installed Itunes 10. But for some reason, if I try to edit my song's info (Right click on song, 'Get Info') the titles and everything that's in another language displays as boxes. The song title itself when in Itunes displays properly, but only in the 'Get Info' box does all my Chinese, Japanese, and Korean song information turn into little boxes. It's not my computer's problem, as it displays all these languages properly. The problem lies with Itunes, but none of the help topics really do anything. Can anyone help me out please?
If you didn't really understand my explanation, here are some pictures:

As you can see, boxes in the info editing areas, but everywhere else, it displays properly.
Thank you for your help!

In case anyone else comes across this problem -
It turns out that the fontconfig.properties approach is a bit of a red herring (at least in this example).
I've resolved the issue by adding a method to my bean to specify a different font for english and chinese language users. For chinese language users I specify Font = "Simsun-18030" and for each AWT component explicitly setFont( new Font( "Simsun-18030", Font.PLAIN, 14 ) ) Now AWT components displaying chinese characters are rendered correctly with no need to modify any config files on the client PC.
- NB font appears smaller for pointsize than english fonts.
- Using "SimSun" as the font also works but text in english is not displayed very clearly
- On windows you must install east asian language support for this to work (Start -Run - intl.cpl - languages tab)

• Error Message to be displayed in Two Languages

Hi,
I am writing my code in an User Exit. My requirement is that when ever an error message is displayed it should be displayed in Two languages i.e in English and Portuguese.
Can I do this... if yes then how.
Thanks and Regards
Suraj

1) Translate your message into the language you want. (like 'hi!' is 'oi!!' in portugese) use google language tools.
2) Put it in same message in a message class.
3) just display the msg.
MESSAGE E000(ZTEST_MSG_SUMIT).  " in ZTEST_MSG_SUMIT msg class write the error/wrng in both lauguages.

Hi Hussein,
We have similiar issue with our custom PDF reports. We are in the process of upgrading from 11.5.9 to R12.
All these reports work fine in 11.5.9.
Following are the details of our R12 environment:
1) What is the application release? Application release is 12.1.1
2) What is application/database characterset? Database - 11.1.0.7.0 and characterset is UTF8.
3) Is this a text or bitmap report? What is the report language? - It is a text report and Language is English
4) Do you use PASTA for printing? - Yes we do
5) Do you get the correct printout if you print the concurrent request output file from the OS? - If I run the report from report builder directly, Yes. If from Oracle Apps, no.
6) Expected output: "Days in Queue"
Actual Output: when I copy and paste the output here it is showing correct. But on the report it is showing
something like ∆Ωµ.....
7) If I try changing the font, it works
8) A different text field on the same report with the same font shows good.
I would appreciate your help on this one.
Thanks
Vishnu
