Hi experts!
I can't find KAZAKH language pack for SRM (LAC). Is it possible translate SRM (LAC) interface manually?

Customer specific language for SRM screens

In principle, any Unicode language can be supported with SAP applications.
I think the challenge & time taking task could be 'Translation' itself.

Few months back, had started thinking about this for enabling 'Hindi'. THought we did not do anything, one thing that helped me was -- readings on Unicode support in SAP.

The 3GS can be updated to iOS 6.1.2 and that iOS has Arabic as one of the keyboard languages but I do not see Arabic as one of the languages for userinterface but there are some I cant read so I cant be sure. You could check by going to settings/general/international then languages

Steps for using interface IF_FPM_CNR_GAF for SRM enhancement

Dear forum members,
I am an SRM consultant and want to change the toolbar labels for some buttons in the FPM.
SRM uses a GAF FPM and I need to know how to implement a supported enhancement to change the label of the 'Save' button to 'Hold' for some applications only.
Can someone please provide detailed steps for me to be able to achieve this?
I have found the following, but it is not detailed enough for me:

This interface provides you with methods to dynamically change the FPM toolbar of
an initial screen or main screen.

In webdynpro i would have done this with out any problem. For example
-FPM_TEST_NAVIGATION component.
-Select this component->controller->enhance
-fill in the enhancement details in a popup -> i use the ZZSBN_TEST_IMPL3 as enhancement implementation , fill in short text and press enter.
-Fill in the transport data (i choose local object ).
-close (f3) , go back to the package/local user->local object in object naviagtor->select enhancement-> choose enhancement implementation(i slect ZZSBN_TEST_IMPL3)
-travel through the node until you reach the a method where you want to enhance.(i choose COMPONENTCONTROLLER)
-Choose controller(top left)->enhance->popup->choose ZZSBN_TEST_IMPL3(select this line).
-You see the right side pane status "Enhanc.inactive" ,pre exit,post exit,overwite buttons with delete icon (ignore this part )
- select a method (PROCESS_BEFORE_OUTPUT)->use bottom scroll bar to traverse right side until you see enahncement buttons like pre,post,overwrite buttons in every cell.
- i choose a post-exit, method opens and the name is like this PSTD9IMD481CRS9OXKK1AZJR917J
- Here i write my logic to get the reference to the cnr_gaf and get_buttons.

German language support for SRM

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement of enabling German language support for SRM.
Environment -
SRM 5.0
R/3 4.6c
Unicode enabled
Catalog enabled
Classic scenario
There are a couple of BADI's implemented along with custom error messages. As of now we are not getting the logon language as German in the dropdown list in the ITS login page. The only language visible in the dropdown is English
Can you provide step by step pointers / document / configuration details on activities on how the German language can be implemented? Specific steps that need to be followed, aspects to be considered, translations to be maintained in which all tables etc.

I'm not 100% sure on this but i think the required 'german' language hasn't been installed (SAP Basis) if it's not comming up on the logon page.
In addition the following things should atleast be taken into account:
- Define external webservices (translations)
- Masterdata translations (f.e. productgroups/UOM/currency etc.)
- Smartforms and/or custom smartforms need to be set up for your language.
In addition there will probably be some of the 'usual note translation fixes' that need to be implemented.
This won't be a 100% answer but i'm hoping it's usefull and with the help of other people we can get a finger on all required steps.

Differnt interface languages for different windows users

I'd like to set one language for a windows user account and another language for different account. I install Firefox localized by one language and add second one's pack. But the pack is not working. And if I reinstall Fitefox localized by second language on second account I receive one localization on both accounts.

Mmmm... I think you need to do a little coding. I'd create a table that would contain USER - Languaje. Then in the home page (or wherever) I'd call a plsql (that the user will not notice) that would use portal apis to check the language. If the language is not the same as the user has assigned in the table then the page will reload with the appropiate language. It is pretty mucha what portal does but without making the user clikck on the language. Hope it helps. Regards, Mere.

Business System not reflecting the XI Content for SRM

Hi,
We are currently working on the SUS-MM scenario.
The landscape includes PI 7.11, SRM 7.0 and R/3 4.6C. SLD Communication is working fine between these systems.
Integration Builder has SRM Server 7.0 and SRM Server IC 7.0 imported.
The current status:
We can successfully transfer vendors from SAP R/3 to SUS
We cannot transfer transaction data from SAP R/3 to SUS, e.g. purchase orders etc
Our Main Issue:
The Business System INTEGRATION_SERVER_<SID> is imported into the Integration Builder from the SLD.
On the Display communication component screen, the receiver and Sender tabs are not showing any of the SRM Server or IC components that have been imported into the ESR. However is displaying only the BASIS components that was imported during inital install.
Because of this, we are not able to proceed with the configuration though the interfaces being available in the ESR. We are not sure what is that we are missing that is preventing the XI content for SRM from being displayed. Also, the PI business system in the SLD has the SRM Content listed under the installed products list.
Any help would be appreciated.

I recently bought one of your products, the Blackberry Playbook. It is a great tablet and powerful. I speak English but my mother tongue is Arabic. Because I had a Blackberry phone and the Arabic language is fully supported in all blackberry phones so I thought that there will be no problem with the Playbook regarding Arabic language support.
However, unfortunately, my guess was wrong. The tablet does not support Arabic language. When using the bridge feature the Arabic letters are displayed unconnected and in the wrong direction (from the left to right instead from right to left).
This makes the Playbook useless for me in many situations, for example when presenting documents for conference.
I am writing to you to know if there is a fix for this or if you are updating the language support for the playbook in short coming time.
Please do not use the word soon, as this word lost its meaning when Google abused its use. The life of an electronic gadget is very short these days, so the full support should be available for the user to benefit from the gadget.
In addition, Blackberry phones are very popular in the Middle East and many people, which I know, said to me they will never buy the Playbook if there is no Arabic language support, (I discovered this after I bought the playbook).
If you are aiming high and looking to compete with the leading producer in the tablet market, then just look at how it is easy to change the interface language in the Apple iPad.

Srm User interface - change settings : Error in role assignment

Users are facing issue when they are changing settings in the SRM user interface site .
Go to SRM user interface SIte --> Change my settings --> change date format or decimal format .
When they save it --> Gets an error - error in role assignment .
What can be the issue. It's same in Dev and qa .

Where to download the standard content for SRM to import to PI 7.4

i am implementing the MM-SUS by PI. My SRM is 7.03 and PI is 7.04.
i have not implement this before. When i configure the PI Integration repository ,it need to import the Standrad Content for SRM.

Is it possible to add new mappings for SRM?

I am looking to replicate some of the "Request for Quotation" creation/management functionality from SRM in a custom application (for business/technical/ease-of-use reasons) and send the created RFQs over to SAP SRM. Can I use XI to send RFQs into SRM (I know I can retrieve them using XI for custom supplier apps, but can I send them in as well)?
While reviewing the EBP mappings in Integration Builder, I see there is a mapping for RequestForQuotation_Create_Out, but not for RequestForQuotation_Create_In. Is it possible to add this mapping? Or in other words - is it possible to create new mappings for SRM in XI that are in addition to the standard mappings that are shipped with SRM/XI?

I see there is a mapping for RequestForQuotation_Create_Out --> I dont think you can find a mapping for the same. RequestForQuotation_Create_Out should be the name of the interface(outbound). What it means is you can have your own custom defined inbound interface and perform the mapping on your own in a new SWC. Pls update me if you can see a mapping for the same. Also you can have yor own interfaces and mapping in your SWC apart from the standard as suggested by Bhavesh and Abhy.
Take care while desingning the interface for SRM part coz SRM has the ability to output in XML format. Check this functionality first and start designing your interface.

SRM LAC: Bidder

We have configured SRM LAC on SRM 700. I am able to Publish Auction .Purchaser is able to Launch Auction( click at Live auction Button)
When bidder click at Live auction Buttion system give message "You are not authorized to veiw this Auction". Bidder is give role /SAPSRM/BIDDER. User SAPJSF and JCOUSER are also given Bidder and Purchaser role.

Database storage of multiple languages for name of a single entity

Surely I'm not the first person to have this problem, but I can't find many resources on how to solve this. Just some background on what I'm working with, I'm running a web application using the Struts framework with jdk 1.4 on a Weblogic 8.1 server connected to an Oracle 9i database, I'm using DAO for my persistence layer, and I'm not opposed to using any 3rd party software to assist in this task.
For example, say I have a database of DVDs, My application will retrieve the list of DVDs from the database to display to the user. Depending on the user's Locale I want to display the title of the DVD in that language.
This is a simple example, but the real-world application is much more complicated. The application is highly configurable meaning that through a configuration application, my internal users can add DVDs at any time, edit the title of the DVD, or add a new language that they want the title to display in, etc. When a customer logs in to the application front-end they will be able to change the language they want the application to display in at any time, and the application will need to reflect that change. The display of constant text like field labels and page text is easy using Struts but its this configurable dynamic text thats a bit more difficult.
Its obvious to me that I will need to store the multiple languages in the database in some way, I'm thinking of either storage in some xml format, or a new table hanging off the "dvd" table with languages for each dvd. Either of these options would work for my purposes, but I don't want to go reinvent the wheel when this same problem has arleady been solved. If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it

One common way to handle this is to modify your key for the dvd title to include a locale identifier:
key dvdtitle
becomes
key locale dvdtitle
Now your db can hold multiple translations of the same dvd title.
