How can I change the currency symbol to "R" for the South African Rand?

No, we don't support that currency.

    nice guide - Translating Reports - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/e12187/T421739T432386.htm

    To generate an XLIFF file from an RTF template
    Open your template in Microsoft Word with the Template Builder for Word installed.
    From the Template Builder menu, select Tools > Translations > Extract Text.
    BI Publisher extracts the translatable strings from the template and exports them to an XLIFF (.xlf) file.
    Save the file to the desired location.

    One more clarification if i am going for 'create lang-template per lang' then do i need to have MLS configured in my EBS.
    >
    not sure about your point
    what do you mean "configured" ?
    mls is the ability to run you application on different language like italian, russian ....
    so if you want check how many lang do you have then
    select nls_language from fnd_languages where installed_flag in ('B','I');for my test instance i have only "AMERICAN"
    but i can run my report with 'lang-template per lang' in different lang
    so when you run your concurrent then click "options" and indicate "template language"
    if you have
    template name: XXTMP_ru.rtf lang: Russian
    template name: XXTMP_en.rtf lang: English
    then you can choose for "template language" - Russian and English

  • Foreign language format problem

    Hi,
    I have a glossary of Tibetan words that was made in MS Excel using a form of transliteration in Latin characters, and now I want to update it using Tibetan fonts, which I use in Pages.
    So long as I am clicked in the cell, the word displays correctly. The moment I move to the next cell it falls apart (Tibetan words are often composed of glyphs and stacks with multiple components). I use a commercial Unicode font.
    How can I make this function properly? It would be very useful to show the Tibetan characters. I have selected the column and chosen the font and size etc - so it works but is useless!
    Best wishes

    I use XenoType (New and Drepung) and yes, the problem appeared with Kokonor and Kailasa as well. The same thing occurred when I tried to use a vocabulary testing program as a widgit some time ago.
    I have now duplicated your problem. It must be a bug of some sort. I seem to be able to get the characters to hold together if I copy/paste them into cells from another document without changing the font in Numbers, but not sure if that is reliable or useful.
    Well, since I would have to type the words first in Pages, I might as well use the table format in Pages too - and maybe then import the whole things into Numbers later. Certainly Numbers would be helpful to use as it handles the cells so much better.
    And this happens quite often on the internet too - I can never quite pin it down but sometimes webpages won't display Tibetan properly.
    What does one do about bugs? I'm surprised now that Apple is supporting Tibetan fonts.

  • Printing multiple format/language in one submission

    I'm new to XML Publisher and want to bounce my understanding off of someone to see if I'm understanding things. I have been requested to have one concurrent manager request submitted that will print all of the days invoices in the proper language and format.
    Following is my understanding - please verify:
    1. I think I need a RTF template per language/format. I can register one "Template" but assign multiple RTF formats based on Lang/Territory.
    2. I could allow the user to submit one request and it would execute a PL/SQL procedure that would submit multiple XML Report Publisher requests with the appropriate language and territory parameters so the correct RTF is used.
    3. The part I'm not so sure about is how to generate the XML Data. I'm thinking that I would have to actually submit a language/territory specific XML Data generation process before the XML Report Publisher process and feed that request id to the XML Report Publisher process.
    4. Question: is it wise to use the existing Oracle Report with output type XML to do #3 since it is already built and has all of the invoice logic in it?
    Any and all feedback on the above is greatly appreciated.
    Carl

    You can use the existing report logic to get the data out in XML format as you mentioned.

  • Problem with text direction in table component for text with two language!

    Hi,
    I want to display text in table component by binding to the one property,and also the language of this text is farsi that must be in the RTL direction.
    so i defined a direction in style of staticText component in the table.
    when the text is only in farsi language ,it works correct but when the text has one or more words in english language ,format of the text changed and the words moved in text.
    thanks

    I can not understand relation between COM and HTML elements .
    can you elaborate more ?
    All HTML elements are accesable via DOM in browsers.
    Indeed to change an element attribute in html files (in browser without server interaction) we use scripts to access DOM tree and then we change the element attribute.
    for example when you write
    document.forms[1].submit()
    you accessing the element using DOM tree.
    About Farsi problem , I think there is no solution for this problem , as you may know , when we mix RTL and LTR languages in one element text attribute , we have no control over its appearance.
    If i understand your post , you want to show both rtl and ltr in one static Text , which is not doable in simple manner.
    At least i can not offer you a simple way to solve this.

  • How to get the date in local language

    Hi,
    I want display "Date" in Local language. Written code as below to display date in my RTF Template:
    <?format-date:xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat();'dd'?><?' '?><?xdoxslt:month_name(substring(xdoxslt:sysdate(),3,2), 0, $_XDOLOCALE)?><?' '?><?format-date:xdoxslt:sysdate_as_xsdformat();'yyyy'?>
    Output showing in my RTF template as "26 May 2011". which is correct for englilsh.
    want to display same format in Local languge for example in Germany :
    26 mai 2011
    To get the local language format tried 1) by Putting "DEU" instead of "$_XDOLOCALE" 2. Tried by declaring a variable with value as "DEU"
    But it two cases it showing in english format not in Germany Language. Please give me idea how to get date in local language.
    Thanks
    -Chakri..

    Dont think you have anyway to tell the target language for a single text retrieval. You can obviously set the locale of the user but that will change language of other texts also. If you always want to show some predefined text in English then better you dont keep the those texts at all in the translated files. Or you keep the English text in all the files - so that everytime English only gets displayed. But if your case is a selective one - i.e. you want to show English text to only German users but spanish to Spanish and French to French then I dont have any answer how to achieve the same.

  • Highlight File Format and PDF Documents with Chinese and English characters

    I'm a developer working on an application that makes use of the Highlight File Format / external highlight server capabilities of Adobe Reader.
    The highlighting worked correctly until we started to introduce pdf documents that were scanned to recognize Chinese in addition to English.
    The xml file seems to have the correct values in it. For example, if the 10 characters to highlight are at position 41 on the first page. The "xml" file has the <loc pg=0 pos=41 len=10>.
    If the document is scanned for English only, it works fine. That is, the highlight starts at character 41. If the same document is scanned for Chinese and English, the highlight starts at character 22.
    Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you know a solution?

    Hi,
    I don't know about BIP and the specifics of your context, but here are some general answers for the XLIFF format:
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'utf-8'?>
    Can we change encoding to 'ISO-8859-1' as soon as we convert the file format ?If you also save the file to ISO-8859-1 as well yes. But you can do this only for languages supported by Latin-1. It makes sense to keep the files in UTF-8.
    A-2) he section <header><skl><internal-file> contains a huge string
    which seeem to be binary ... What is this ? can we delete it ?That's likely to be the skeleton file. The data used to rebuild the original format after translation.
    Most likely it should stay there.
    A-3) Can we have one XLF file with muliple <file> sections (one per language to translate to ) ?
    This can be very useful for us to manage one only translation file per report template.Yes but no: yves you can have several <file> elements in an XLIFF document, but no: they must be for the same language pair. XLIFF is designed to work with bi-lingual files, not multi-lingual files.
    A-4) the most important section for translation is included in the <trans-unit> tag .
    Each one has a distinct id like ""49e41f8f" ... Can we replace this by a more meaningfull value ?Those id attributes are used by the filter to merge back the data after translation. You should preserve them.
    A-5) the language format is like "en-US" (language code + territory code).
    Is it case sensitive ? No it is not case-sensitive (en-us == en-US). The values of xml:lang are not case sensitive (unlike other XML attribute values).
    en-US is just the recommended notation.
    The XLIFF specification are here:
    http://docs.oasis-open.org/xliff/xliff-core/xliff-core.html
    Hope this helps,

  • Thai Language displaying in '#' in print preview

    Hi experts,
    By use of smartform, I am printing the address by fetching datas from tables which are of Thai language.
    But in print preview, I am getting '#' characters instead of thai characters.
    FYI: I used the Thai lang paragraph format only.
    While debugging I can see thai language format correctly but only displaying print preview I am getting
    the '#' characters instead of thai characters.
    FYI:
    I installed thai languages and also my system supports thai lang.
    Kindly help  me in this regard.

    Hi,
    If you are able to print it properly and not able to view it in print preview or not even able to print it, then you need to do some addition of adding them in the UNIX server i guess, usually basis people will know about this.
    Another possibility could be, UNICODE issue. Let's say if you are using any OPEN DATASET commands, check the ENCODING used, whether it supports these characters or not.
    Regards,
    Santhosh.

  • Regular expressions for replacing text with sms language text

    Hi, I'm trying to write a function which converts normal, correctly spelled text into the shorter sms language format but struggling to come up with the regular expressions i need to do so, can anyone help?
    1: remove surplus white space at the beginning of a sentence and at the end of a sentence.
    e.g. " hello." --> "hello." OR "hello ." --> "hello."
    2: remove preceeding and/or proceeding space if there's a word then a number possibly followed by another word
    e.g. "come 2 me" --> "come2me" OR "dnt 4get" --> "dnt4get"
    3: remove "aeiou" if word starts and ends with "!aeiou"
    e.g. "text" --> "txt"

    You can make the whitespace on either side optional:   text = text.replaceAll("\\s*(\\d)\\s*", "$1");1. Use String's trim() method.
    3. This one has to be done in two steps: import java.util.regex.*;
    public class Test
      public static void main(String... args) throws Exception
        String text = "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.";
        System.out.println(devowelize(text));
      public static String devowelize(String str)
        Pattern p = Pattern.compile(
          "[a-z&&[^aeiou]]++(?:[aeiou]++[a-z&&[^aeiou]]++)+",
          Pattern.CASE_INSENSITIVE);
        Matcher m = p.matcher(str);
        StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
        while (m.find())
          m.appendReplacement(sb, m.group().replaceAll("[aeiou]+", ""));
        m.appendTail(sb);
        return sb.toString();
    }

  • Idoc File format

    Hi,
    1, Where can see the IDOCS file format, whether is there any possibility of having different file format for different IDOCS?
    Please let me know one example for this....
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi
    Idoc file format is flat file structue, that structure converted into idoc number format(16 degit number). If you are using file port EDI sub-system conver this file format into non-sap language format.

  • New! More Languages Supported

    I've been out for a few weeks so I didn't have a chance to post about the new languages we started to support in late June.
    We now support these 12 languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian and Japanese
    You can switch the application UI to any of these languages by going to the head icon in the upper right corner of the UI, selecting "My Information" and thenchoosing your desired language from the drop down.
    Also, the language of the form being created can be set independent of the application UI (English app UI users can create a French form). Form language determines the language of the form errors, submit button, submission receipt e-mail and other strings in the HTML form respondents fill out. The form language can be changed on the Options tab under "Language & Formatting"
    International date/time, currency and number formatting are already available (this shipped in the March 12th release). These are now defaulted to the appropriate format based on the form language.
    Templates are not yet localized in this release.All users (no matter the app language) will have access to the English templates. Localized templates will be provided over the next two months.
    Please give us your feedback...
    Thanks,
    Randy.
