Language in adobe forms

hello,
i have a requiremnet to print header in both the languages.
could u help please.
thanks
adnan

Hi,
At first maintain the translation field as text module i.e in smartforms transaction.
In the layout section of the form where you have the text field right click on the field -> floating field (Floating field you will have to add the field which is translated text module) .

    Peerasit,
    Not 100% sure but install the Extended Language Font Packs for Adobe from [here|http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/acrrasianfontpack.html] and see if it resolves your issue.

  • How can i find the adobe form translations

    Hi Friends,
    how can i find the adobe form translations?
    i mean i want to know in how many languages my adobe form has been translated?
    is their any report or is their any technique to find the translations........................
    Thanks,
    Harish.K

    Hello Harish,
    To find the translation of Adobe form is nothing but to find the labels or texts used in this adobe form in various languages. This will give you an idea on how many languages your adobe form has been translated.
    So to find the translations in different languages, you have to go to Context node of the Adobe form. Then go through the text nodes which are used as labels. These will be normally stored as Standard texts in SO10.
    For example. Take the text name of any one text node.
    1) Go to SE38.
    2) Type program RSTXTRAN.
    3) Let the Text key - object be TEXT.
    4) Then enter this text name in the field Text key - name. I have put the sample standard text ZTEST_ADOBE as shown below.
    5) Let the Text key - ID be ST.
    6) In Text key - language, Enter *  (i.e enter the Asterisk) because you want to find out all the languages.
    The screen parameters will be as shown below.
    7) Now Execute this report.
    8) It will show all the various languages in which this particular standard text is used which is nothing but the Adobe form is being used in these many languages. For example, the standard text ZTEST_ADOBE is used in 3 languages, English, German and Spanish as shown below. It will look as shown below.
    Note: This will give you the more or less the overall idea of the form that has been used in these many languages. But also make sure the standard text with particular language is also linked with the Transport Request. Because there are chances that the text was created in a particular language but was never used.

    ENAME & MGTXT are the fields which has to be displayed by default when the form is shown.
    But when the Adobe form is displayed it comes without any Value for ENAME - Employee Name
    MGTXT - Reason for Action Text .
    Please provide me solution to over come this problem.
    Thanking you in advance,

    This was fixed by commenting the script in the form since I don't require it.

  • Best practice in working with Adobe forms in multiple languages

    We have to provide access to some Adobe Interactive Forms in both English and French, some of them from Web Dynpro application(s), some of them as callable objects from Guided Procedures.
    1- We know for sure that we can have two copies of each form, one in English and one in French but that implies duplicating the FormCalc and Javascript code behind.
    2- Another way if to modify in javascript all labels, captions using some javascript i.e. If lang = "E" then "My label" else "Mon étiquette" . It would work but it is not very efficient.
    Is someone here has experience with this type of situation and would be willing to share his experience with me?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Benoit,
    For Adobe Forms in multiple language you can use include text solution also . Within this solution you need to add a language parameter in your interface and then retrieve the include text in the language value ( not current language ) . Personnaly i used a lot this solution with Smartforms text .
    Also i used dictionnary text for text linked with data dictionnary element . For this there is standard function module in SAP .
    Anothers way is in the SFP editor you can translate your form as in SAPSCRIPT .
    Hope this help you
    Regard.
    PS : if necessary i can send you a sample form with smartform/Dictionnary text solution.

    Hi Gaurav,
    Gudday.
    You can very well view a single adobe form in different languages by  maintaining the translations in the desired language using the path
    tools->translation->select the language->translate pdf form
    on selecting the language,the text will be displayed  in source language ....using the menu tabs copy the source text and maintain the texts in the required language.
    Hope it is clear.Please revert for any clarifications.
    Thanks,

  • Adobe Form translation in to different languages

    Hi All,
    Can you please guide me through the procedure/process of "how to translate Adobe forms in to a different languages".
    Thanks.

    There are two methods to translate any Adobe form.
    First method :
    login to the target language
    Go to SFP --> enter the form name
    Click on Change
    Click on Goto -> translation
    Original language will be autopopulated. Enter the target language in which you want the texts to be translated into., eg FR (French) and enter
    You will see the tree for translation objects. Expand the package name and then PDFB. Under PDFB you will find your form name --> Double Click.
    A translation editor will open up.
    Navigate to Object Menu --> Copy Source text.
    The entire XML for the form will be copied in the target language window with all static text literals highlighted in blue.
    Replace the english text (blue text) with the French text ( target language text) and save.
    Thats all. The form will be now translated, run the application and provide the target language in the URLis the target language.. sap-language=FR
    Also there is Second method.:
    1)You have to create the form in target language and attach in webdynpro layout as your original language
    2)In the context of the view define two new attributes (VISIBILE and VISIBILE_FR ) with type as "WDUI_VISIBILITY"
    3 )Now in webdynpro layout attach this form same as your English form and bind the visible property of interactive forms( both EN and FR form)  with the VISIBILE and VISIBILE_FR   attributes respectively.
    4) Now through any initial method you can set the value of VISIBILE =u2019 02 u2018and VISIBILE_FR =u2019 01u2019 for English form to visible and vice versa for Fr form
    Choose the convenient option .

  • Show adobe form in different languages

    Hi all,
    I have a Web Dynpro Application which holds an Interactive Form. This form is translated into several languages.
    Is there any way to indicate the WDA application which language has to use to open the Adobe Form?
    The user would have the option to choose the language first.
    I know we can do this by changing the whole WDA application language, but I do not like this because I want to keep application in user language.
    Thank you very much.
    Nacho.

    I have not tried this at my end but see if it gives you some direction.
    For Eg: I am assuming you have a WD application and a form embedded in it with Two fields say TextField1 and DateTimeField1
    1. Instead of using Default Locale, choose Viewers System Locale for the top level subform. This will ensure the data is displayed as per the locale of the user.
    This will only give the values as per Viewer locale, however the Caption still will show as default one. To dynamically change the caption as per the langauge ie. it should be Date in English and Datei German follow below steps.
    2. Goto Tools -> Options -> Data Binding -> Enable the Show Dynamic Properties checkbox. This will ensure that the Caption property of the form fields can be binded to a context.
    3. Provide a drop-down in your WD application outside the form and maintain list of all texts.
    4. Create the necessary contexts such as TextFieldCaption, DateTimeFieldCaption in your WD and now set the values accordingly.
    Here is pseudo code in JAVA, you can write the same in ABAP in WD
    if(drop-down value == "EN")
      wdContext.currentContextElement.setTextFieldCaption("Hello");
      wdContext.currentContextElement.setDateTimeFieldCaption("Date");
    else if (drop-down value == "DE")
      wdContext.currentContextElement.setTextFieldCaption("Hello1");
      wdContext.currentContextElement.setDateTimeFieldCaption("Datei");
    4. Bind the caption property of the Fields the the WD contexts.
    Now when you select the language hopefully you should be able to get the desired output.

  • Adobe form language translation

    Hi All,
    In Adobe form, I found two issues while translating English form to Korean.
    1. Bold property is not working in print output.
    2. When I am trying to fax, the Korean form fax is not coming.
    Please kindly advise.
    Thanks,
    Anu

    Hi Anu,
    You need to check your (installed/used) fonts. Usually for bold, italic, etc a specific font is used. Sometimes they are not available, e.g. in cases when a word in bold doesn't mean something in a language.
    Please note that it might be on your printer that the font is missing and consequently substituted by the regular font, n the case the preview PDF would be just fine but the actual print output not.
    Cheers,
    Juergen
