Language Not reflecting in portal sub areas

Hi all,
We have installed languages in back end ECC6.0 (SP14,Enhancement Package2). In UME we have assigned the default language to. But still its not reflecting fully in portal page. It means for example I have assigned a french language to the particular user in UME.After doing this activity, i logged in to the portal then the french language is reflecting in the areas but not in subareas(data from ECC ).The data are displaying in English only.
So, i think i need to maintain values are parameters for the translation has to be taken..
FYI: Its ESS module and i changed my setting also in browser

Is the french language installed and maintained in your backend system? If yes, did you configure the browser so that is uses FR-fr as language first before using EN?

IMG HPF Area Page Customizing not reflecting in Portal

Hi,
I'm near to smashing my keyboard, but before I do so, maybe someone is able to help me:
In IMG Homepage Framework I've got a custom Area Page which has a Headline Area Description and an Area Description Longtext. I need to change the contents of these two fields. If I change the Headline Area Description, it reflects in Portal right after relogging. If I change the Area Description Longtext it still shows the old Area Description in portal. This is not supposed to happen and it never happened before.
Backend System: NW 7.01 Stack 8 ECC 6.00 EHP4 SP36
Portal Server: NW 7.01 Stack 9, All respective XSS Java Components and Business Packages Updated to EHP equivalents
I direly hope this is not due to the difference in Stacks ( Backend 8 - Frontend 9 ).
Portal cache has been cleared and portal has been restartet, without any effect.
Any ideas?

I haven't used external entries. From the Document you provided however, I take it, if I used one, I could just override the "bugged" Long description with an html file.
UPDATE/EDIT: When I create a HTML File in KM Content and pack it into a Ressource for external Linking in the Area Page. It does reflect, but looks horrible. If I remove the external entry again and keep the description long field blank. The old text reappears in ESS...
I looked through all the relevant tables in SE11/SE16 the entries in IMG do reflect; just not in ESS.
Aside from this workaround. Any other ideas why my problem occurs?

Field lables changes in ESS iView not reflected on portal

Hi All,
I am trying to customize the SAP ESS Address DC (webdynpro Java) for South Africa region as per the SAP OSS note (No: 1428933).
In order to incorporate the changes I have imported the ess/za/addr DC into NWDS. I have changed the label text as per the OSS note and deployed the DC but changes are not reflecting in the portal
I did some more test on Label text;
1. Removed the Label text property value from DC and deployed the application, when I run the application during runtime screen is not showing any label text message for the label since I made it to empty.
1. I added my custom text message to label text value instead of standard label text value and deployed the application, when I run the application during run time screen is automaticaly showing the standard label text value not my custom label text value.
I'm trying to figure out from where these field labels value are coming from? Theoretically it should reflect field lables whats given in webdynpro but thats not the case here.
From where Label field value is coming?. Help me out in this. Thanks,

If you are just changing the field label the recommended approach is to do it through Web Dynpro UI personalisation. DO NOT user NWDI to change the source code just for field label change. The way you change through UI personalisation is locate the iView in portal content, and select preview of iView then use CTRL+RIGHT click mouse button on the field that you want to change the text, you will see properties of selected field in a popup window where you can change the default text. Once you change it, and apply the changes you will be able to verify you changes in the iView properties (additional properties will be automatically created for the change you made). Now check the personal data service under ESS role you should see the change.

Report changes not reflected in Portal

Hi,
I have a report designed in Business Intelligence Front end tool. I have added that report to a role created in BI backend and assigned the report to that role. I am executing the report in Portal through SSO and the report is executing successfully.
I made changes in the report and assigned it to the role again. When i execute the report in portal, the changes are not reflected. But when i check the same report in Portal using another team mate id, he is able to see the changed report. We checked the iview of the report in portal and the changed report is there in portal. But i donno why it is not showing up for me. We cleared the Browser cache and checked again but the result is same. We both have the same roles, so nothing to do with the Roles. I think the problem is in portal, but dont have an idea on where to check it.
Help me in this regard. Thanks for your time.

This is strange but please do this simple test & confirm:
Run the iView using your colleague's id. Copy the complete URL from the browser.
Open another fresh browser session, pasting the URL login using your credentials.
What do you see now? Do you see the change?
This a simple method to filter out the issue..whether its related to backend or not.

Error messages through BADI HRPAD00INFTY not reflected in Portal

     We are on ESS 6 and using web dynpro based Iviews.
     Various custom validations have been configured in R/3 via
     BADI <b>HRPAD00INFTY</b> for leave request.
     But those validations are not getting reflected when creating a leave through
     leave request Iview in portal.I need all those custome R/3 validations
     messages to appear in portal as well.

write your validations in SIMULATE_VIA_BLOP method. You can find current record in IM_ATTABS_TAB. after ur validations, when u want to raise an error message use follwing code.

Changes not reflected in portal after successful import

Hello,
I am having trouble with some transports in NWDI. I made some changes to the ESS Address Details dynpro and tested them in the development portal. I then imported them into CONS and the import ran successfully. However I cannot see the changes in the portal. I then ran the TCS Deployer and there was a long list of entries in the list of deployments for my buildspace. I then triggered the auto deployment and waited a few hours. This did not help either. I also checked to confirm that SDM was up and running which it was. Is anybody able to give me some advice on this?

i have faced the same problem, but after 30 hours all the deployements are done, we got some thing around 511 deployement request on the consolidation server,

SPRO changes not reflecting in portal

Hi Experts,
We have made some changes in SPRO in Dev. We could see the changes in Portal Dev. The same we transported to QA but we could not see the changes in QA portal. We did cache refresh in Navigation but still we are unable to see the changes in portal. Any suggesstions.

IView not Visible in portal content Area

Hi experts,
i got a problem when i try to access to the Area 'Travel and Expenses' of the portal after logging in.
The Area should be point to a Page involving 2 IView, one of them contain the visualization of 4 links and the other one pointed to a custom Application.
If i try to reach the area through the quick link in the main page the Applications doesnu2019t come up and i receive a partial visualization of the page, while if i reach the Area clicking the Tab at the top of the page
i get the right visualization of the Area.
Having a look to the resource pointed to the Area i'm really sure that the PCD is correct.
Why do i get two different visualization of the same object?

Changes to password are not reflected immediately in the application

Hi All,
If I change the password either from the console or through the application
itself, the change are not reflected immediately. They are reflected when I
shutdown both the admin server and managed server and bring them up. I think
the previous password is cached somewhere. If so, how to refresh it. When I
am changing the programatically ie using
User.changeCredential(oldPassword,newPassword);
I am refreshing the realm by using RealmMBean.refresh() . But it is not
working. Right now i am using default file realm. Can anyone tell what i
am missing here

If your custom user extends DefaultUserImpl then you can update the password
in that instance within the method User.changeCredential(...) as
Construct the userinfo object with the old password
Authenticate the user against the realm with the userinfo -- returns the
customuser
customuser.setCredential( ** new passsword**) (setCredential method of
DefaultUserImpl)
update the file/database

TLN changes not reflecting

Hi All,
I have a requirement of customizing the TLN. I am modifying the CSS file from the toplevelnavigation.par in NWDS and then created an iView . But the changes done in CSS are not reflecting in portal's TLN.
What can be done to see the changes ?

are you gettting any error at time of execution or your modifications didn.t effecting the TLN?
did you check with the iview's preview.is it working fine? upload yor modifiedpar file with different name or (make a copy of you origina par file) cretae an ivew with modified par and check whether you are getting desired output and then you assign it to framework page.there may be a error in the CSS or mogified jsp file coding

CCA - Actual assessment (KSU5) / allocation not reflected in GLFUNCT table

One of my client uses functional area for reporting. Functional area is derived using cost ctr category while posting. When reports are generated, actual assessment / allocation does not reflect in the functional area report.
The amounts shown are same as the original posting. Is there any report which can show functional area values after the assessment (KSU5) / allocation (KSV5)?
I created a report using report painter using the library 0F (GLFUNCT), but the value is before KSU5 / KSV5. Any way to get the amount after KSU5 / KSV5?

Hi,
Functional areas are being deployed for the purpose of Cost of sales accounting in FI area only. The distribution and assessment cycles which are being undertaken in Controlling will not be available in Finance tables. If you need functional area wise report in Controlling, you can run the standard report on the basis of group of cost centers which are assigned to a particular Functional area.

Changes not reflected in Change to Document (tcode CRMD_ORDER)

Hello Expert,
I made a change in field 'Planned Completion Date', in my transaction through tcode CRMD_ORDER.
When I view Change to Document (CRMD_ORDER > top menu > Extras > Change Documents), the change is not reflected.
All changes are usually captured in the Change to Document.
Perhaps it is captured somewhere else?
Please assist.

Hi HJMY,
Check if the Change document object provided for CRM_ORDER has the field in the SAP provided structure. This can be verified in transaction SCDO -> select change document object CRM_ORDER and display, you will see list of structures on the left hand side, if the field you are refering to is a part of one of these structures then the changes in this field are displayed when you go to (CRMD_ORDER > top menu > Extras > Change Documents). If it is not present then you will have to create a new change document object and assign a proper structure, you can generate update program to update that change documents. Hope this helps.

Custom theme changes are not reflecting after SP upgrade in Portal 7.3

The landscape has the integration of Web Dynpro ABAP components in Portal. The custom font color set for the field name is not reflecting, instead it show the font color in blank.

I did some changes to the smartforms in language en and was trying to see the effect in other client in language de. But dont see any changes in other language.
Changes that i did were, Changing the text in the forms, addition of new fields, set some conditions to text.

Images are not reflecting in Multi Level Menu

Hi,
i am facing some problem in the Multi Level Menu.
i have created a book in my portal application.
For the "Main Page Book" i am setting "Multi Level Menu"
For the Book with in the menu, i am setting "No Navigation"(to avoid the sub pages displaying when clicking the book)
for example the Book name is "Home".
i want to replace the Home with some images.
using "selected image" i have placed some .gif
when i have checked at run time that image is not reflected.
when i keep the menu as "Single level menu" images are coming. (but drop down is not coming)
the problem is when i put the menu as "multi level menu" the images are not reflected.
pls help me to solve this issue.

we've got the same issue in the project I'm working on. We told thos to BEA and they said that this is not coded. So 2 BEA's consultants are working on it for us. May be it will be included in the next version of WLP...
