    Hi all,
i started creating database control repository, when i saw emca running i had seen repository created successfully , but sysman user is not created at this point of time. Then i looked into emca_repos_create_2008-04-10_11-57-03-AM.log file but the file is unable to open because it's looking for file emreposcre.sql which creates sysman user in this location /opt/db/oracle/product/10.2.0/sysman/admin/emdrep/sql/
i feel while installing the database these files are not created....? or i need to run any scripts before running emca ....?
give me some inputs to this thread.
    Thanks,
    nil

  • Oracle 10G Database Control and Scheduling OWB Process Flow

Does anyone know how to go about scheduling an OWB Process Flow from
Oracle 10G Data Base Control. I knew how to do this with Oracle Enterprise Manager 9.2 but we recently upgraded to Oracle Db 10G and the interface has changed significantly.
Now the interface seems to require a PL/SQL stored procedure to be executed.
Is there a template procedure that is installed with 10G Data Base Control as there was for 9.2 i.e. oem_exec_template.sql?

I've used the oem_exec_template.sql successfully with OWB 10.1 and Oracle 10G Database Control, with a little trial and error at first.
I'm assuming that your job execution environment is set up correctly, ie. that you can properly execute jobs via the host agent.
    1. Log on to Database Control as SYSTEM, select Jobs from the links at the bottom of the page
    2. In the Results section, Create Job, select "SQL Script" and press Go
    3. In the General section, enter Job Name, and as SQL Script enter e.g.:
    @/u01/app/oracle/owb_oracle_home/owb/rtp/sql/oem_exec_template.sql owb_runtime WF_LOC PROCESS MY_PROCESS , ,
    4. In the Databases section, add your target database
    5. In the Credentials section, I select "Override Preferred Credentials" and use the agent account (oracle on my Linux system) and db user owb_access (OWB Runtime Access user)
    6. Review Schedule tab and submit
    Comments on step 3:
    - the oem_exec_template.sql script must be installed according to the path specified in step 3, on the database host where the OWB Runtime Repository is located
    - owb_runtime is the owner of my OWB Runtime Repository
    - WF_LOC is the name of my Workflow Location as seen in OWB Deployment Manager
    - MY_PROCESS is the name of a deployed Workflow Process
    - the commas indicate that I don't supply any system or custom parameters.
    - step 3 is actually a shell command line that is interpreted by eg. /bin/sh on Unix or cmd on Windows, and must obey proper quoting rules. On windows, I had to specify the empty commas as "\," (including dblquotes)

  • Enterprise Database Control

    Hi,
I am new to Oracle admin and trying to learn DBA concepts from one of the book, after i installed Oracle 11g (11.1.0.7.0) on my laptop running Win xp with sp3 ... I was reading about Enterprise Database control and how we can access the same via a url. So i went to cmd prompt and performed following steps :
    STEP 1) set ORACLE_SID=orcl
STEP 2) Executed the following command
    C:\app\userdir\product\11.1.0\db_1\BIN>emctl start dbconsole
and it came with this message ...

I also checked Event viewer to see if something is obvious over there, but just found a event with a message desc. as "*Process exited abnormally during initialization.*" and Event Id is listed as 4
Can someone give me some hint or pointers what i am doing wrong.

LearnerHave you created the dbcontrol? Is there a Windows service to support a dbcontrol?
I've never installed 11g on Win, so am not sure if this is supposed to happen automatically, or if you have to do it manually.Hi EdStevens,
Can you elaborate more on this .. sorry i am a bit new to this. I went to control panel --> services and saw 4 services which starts with Oracle , these are as follows
    OracleServiceORCL -- status as started
    OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener -- status as started
    OracleJobSchedulerORCL --status as "Disabled"
    OracleDBConsoleorcl -- status as stopped
I believe you are talking about the last one, i manually tried to start this one via button "start ", but it came up with same error 2 and event viewer was populated with the same message.

Working on oracle 10g is just like a mirage for me. I have installed and uninstalled it many times on my new laptop, but not been able to work on it, because of many oracle problems. my OS is windows xp prof. sp2. i have cracked my brain on accessing to oracle 10g database control webpage, but have not succeeded yet. everytime i am successful in installing oracle 10g on my machine but everytime i fail to connect to em-database control and got the error 'page can not be displayed'.
my laptop uses dhcp and it uses a wireless LAN. i install and configure loopback adapter before installing 10g. i have tried with 192.168.x.y as the ip address of the loop back adapter and have put many numbers in place of x, y where 0<x<254 and 0<y<254 . Infact i have tried with 192.168.15.16

and many more and in all the previous cases i configured subnet mask to be
255.255.255.0. Everytime database installation is successful but not able to connect to oem db control webpage.
One more error i get everytime is that whenever i try to connect to database through sql window , sometimes i connect and sometimes i dont.i get the error ORA-12357 TNS Connection Closed.
    i provide username: scott
    password : tiger .
    host string: orcl
( orcl is the database name and also the name of the sid).
But i always am able to connect to the database through command line c:\ prompt and everything works fine.

  • Database Control

Internet Explorer is telling me it cannot connect to my Database Web Page. I imported two Oracle 9i databases from a Solaris server to a Oracle 10g new Windows 2003 server. I am building another Oracle database on this same server. I can access all three instances with plsql. Until recently, I could access the web pages of all three instances with Start->OraDB10g_home1->Database Control SID. I can still log onto two of the three SID web pages, but the third was giving me some security violation and now it just cannot access the page. I made all three web pages TRUSTED SITES. I am just getting my feet wet with Oracle 10g. Can someone please give me some insight into how I can restore access to my ServiceName:em#### web page? Thank you for your help in advance.

In a command prompt window, I entered
    set ORACLE_SID=MYSIDNAME<enter> #MYSIDNAME=ACTUAL DB NAME
    emctl status dbconsole
The output told me: Oracle Enterprise Manager is not running.
I tried another option of the same command. I again set the oracle_sid and then
    emctl start dbconsole
The output told me: The requested service has already been started.
    I tried Start->All Programs->Oracle OraDB10g_home1->Database Controle SIDname
Again Internet Explorer could not connect to the window to manage my database.
I tried stopping and then restarting the service OracleDBConsoleSIDname by right clicking on MyComputer, selecting Manage, selecting Services, and then right clicking on the service to select stop and then later to start.
The service took a long time to stop. Then it took forever to start. The status says Starting for a long while (between a minute or two).
I looked at some log files to see what was going on.
In the emoms.log, I saw such error messages as:
2008-08-12 19:40:23,316 [HttpRequestHandler-160937764] WARN jdbc.ConnectionCache _getConnection:306 - IO exception: the Network Adapter could not establish the connection.
ERROR eml.OMSHandshake get ParameterFromDB.563 - Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection
I found a more recently dated error message from the time I was trying to restart the DBConsole service for the database in the file Oracle DBConsoleSIDNamesrvc.log
The following line was repeated many, many times as if a process was being retried inside a loop:
08/20/08 09:57:15 Received exitCode 1 from emctl istatus
08/20/08 09:57:23 Received exitCode 1 from emctl istatus
08/20/08 09:58:15 Received exitCode 1 from emctl istatus
    and then finally
08/20/08 09:58:23 Received exitCode 3 from emctl istatus
    08/20/08 09:58:30 dbconsole started
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS WHAT I CAN DO TO MAKE THIS SERVICE START PROPERLY SO THAT IT HANDSHAKES WELL WITH MY DATABASE WINDOW?

  • Bringing oralce vm for x86 server in enterprise manager control

    Hello All,
    Greetings of the day.
We have deployed oracle enterprise manager opscenter 11g on solaris x86 and deployed a proxy controller on the same machine.
Query: How to discover and bring into oracle enterprise manager control oracle VM x86 machine which is already built and alive.
My perception is to install oracle virtual management pack on proxy controller machine and oracle vm server. I have the binaries with me. I could not find a doc to install the same.
    Quick response is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Hameed

    Hameed,
Your questions sounds like it is specific to Ops Center. As a side note, there is an Ops Center forum and MOS community here:
    https://communities.oracle.com/portal/server.pt/community/oracle_enterprise_manager_ops_center/505
    Enterprise Manager Ops Center
Ops Center 11g does not have any awareness of OVMx86. Oracle introduced support for OVMx86 into Ops Center 12c.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/oem/ops-center/oem-ops-center-188778.html
The way you accomplish this in Ops Center 12c is to discover a OVM Manager. Once you have an OVM Manager discovered, you can discover OVS hypervisors and connect them to the OVM Manager through Ops Center. Then they will appear in the Ops Center user interface and you will be able to control them from Ops Center.
You can also do this in Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c.
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.3.0

Oracle Enterprise Manager 10g Database Control Release 10.2.0.3.0 is one hour behiend on AIX 5.3.
I have installed the new timezone version 4 already by oracle DST path database is good OEM main page is showing one hour behiend.
I have done every possible effort last thing may be i have to update java home i have 1.4 IBM java on the server.
Please help me in this. Thanks.

See the Metalink Note *Impact Document for Daylight Saving Time Shift for Enterprise Manager Grid Control [ID 417939.1]* Appendix B - FAQ - point 18
What is the impact of not patching the JDK on the OMS for 10g Grid Control?
If you do not patch the JDK on the OMS page refreshed times and possibly other times displayed in the console will be incorrect (they will be off by 1 hour) during an affected period.
Oracle strongly recommends that you do patch the OMS JDK but we are not aware of any data corruption in the repository nor of any impact on critical EM functionalities (such as severities, notifications and jobs) when the JDK is not patched.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control log file location

Any one knows where the log file is for Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control. I am trying to set up EUS proxy authentication and running into issues when trying to search proxy user in my DB. The search returns no results and I am not sure where to look for. Please not my setup does work for EUS with shared or exclusive schema. I need to use Oracle DB proxy authentication for my application and that would need a setup of EUS with proxy permissions so please advice if you know where the log file is for Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control or if there is any logging I can turn on to see what search parameters are passed from Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g Database Control to my DB by using DB audit etc.
    Thanks,

    Be patient...wait for report.
If after some time report does not appear, go to Advisor Central and find it there.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control is not working properly

    Hello!
I have a problem with Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control, the web console. When I open the browser, instead of showing the login window, it shows the window where three arrows, the database instance, the listener, and the conection, that are red and down.
However they are working correctly, the database is up and working, but the EM doesn't show anything else.
Is there a way to make it work again?
    Thanks!

The Enterprise Manager has lost sync with the database.
The only way I know to do this remotely is to tell the OEM to shut down and/or bring up the database - twice. It'll try and fail and perhaps eventually reset it's pointers.
I'd really like Oracle to create a 're-sync to actual state' URL ... there must be an easy way, such as flushing the collected metrics or something.

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control VS Grid Control

What is difference of Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control and Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control?
How I can install it manually?
    Thanks

What is difference of Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control and Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control?
How I can install it manually?Dbcontrol is for single database as Grid control is for multiple databases.Dbcontrol has limited features than Grid control that goes beyond database administration to monitor other targets that include Operating system and application servers, web application, High availability (data guard) configurations. Database control comes with oracle server license but Grid control is a separate product it required separate license. If you want to use basic features then you can turn off the licensed packs in Grid control and use free product.
    Install Grid Control as doc:http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B16240_01/doc/em.102/e10953/installing_em.htm

  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control

    Please help me.
    Here's oracle installing step:
    1. Install Oracle 11g software with "Advance" option. I just install software without creating a Data base at this time.
    2. Create a Data base with DBCA
I couldn't see the Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control at "Services " window while
"Chapter 3: Getting Started with Oracle Enterprise Manager" says that:
This chapter introduces you to Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control. The Oracle Universal Installer installs Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control when you install the Oracle software. Enterprise Manager Database Control provides a Web-based interface that you can use to manage your Oracle instance and database.
    Thank in advance!

    Hi,
You didn’t create a Database that’s why you don’t have Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control.
Create Database with DBCA and you will get an option “Configure database with Enterprise manager” (step 5).
At the end of DB creation you will get a link for Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control.
Browse the link to open EM Database control.
If you choose to create DB with Oracle installation then you will get Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control.
