Language on Vista

My laptop doesn't want to read russian latters.Its shows some symbols. What I have to do? please help!!!

So far as I know, all versions of Windows Vista display Cyrillic characters. Perhaps it's the application.
In particular, these fonts include Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek characters.

Satellite L40-143 - How to Change the Language of Vista?

I bought a L40-143 Toshiba Laptop. The vista version is a German Version.
I tried to reinstall with recover CD, but then there is no use of it.

As far as I know notebooks are country specific products and it is logic that notebook in Germany will be preinstalled with German language. If you need OS on different language you must buy country specific Microsoft installations DVD. You can order it over the Internet.

Change language under vista from french to english on a Satellite X200

Just bought an Satellite X200 in France, obviously installed with a french version of vista home premium, any way of changing the language to english?
I have access to another laptop running vista in english, maybe a simple file swap?

Service Pack 1 for Vista

Twice I thought I had it installed and twice it kicked back this message at me and this is word for word. "Windows Vista service pack 1 cannot be installed on your computer because the language of Vista you have installed is not supported or you
have installed a language pack that is not supported. Windows Vista service pack 1 can only be installed on computers running the English, French,German, Japanese, and Spanish versions ov Windows Vista."
Can you help me with that?

Run Windows Update and install all updates and restart your PC.

MS Vista pics will not forward

I would like to address my problem to David Gost since he was so helpful with a previous corruption problem with my mail.
I use Mac OS X ( 10.4.9 ) mail w/o any embellishments as I have for years. As a side note, and being one that has never had mail problems until my recent send issue; which I was able to correct with Onyx as per Davids' recommendation I am somewhat surprised as to how many users have ligitimate " mail " issues.
My issue occurred just recently when my brother sent me two pictures. He uses MS Vista and loads his pics from an HP R827 Digital 7.3mp camera. I set out to forward one pic and it went to my outbox after only sending 30 % as verified by my Activity Viewer. I ran " Info " on the pic and it = 2.3mb... kinda large for a .jpg. I attempted to send another of his pic's = 1.1mb and it ran 60 % and went to ' outbox ". I attempted Stuffit in various: zip, .sit, and still could not send, although Stuffit didn't do much for size but I took the shot anyway.
Interesting as well. I placed one of his pics in Mac's Desktop and it viewed beyond my screen ( 1024x768). I could view about 60 % of the pic from center out with the other 40 % just off the screen. It was as if I was using Universal Access in zoom.
lastly, when I go into Mail Outbox to view the aforementioned item, Whow
! the pic is like " Poster Size " This is a new one on me. I know my brother can resize a pic in Vista before sending but why does Mac have a problem as I have encountered ? Any suggestions, David.

I?would?first?boot?into safe mode and try to restore yoursystem to bootable condition using System Restore. If possibletake your?system installation back to a time before the driverproblem occured.
?If this does not work you?can repair your installation if it hasbeen damaged by the driver problem this way. Boot from the Vista disk and a screen will detect your Vistainstallation you will be asked to select your language andanother Vista screen will appear asking for installation selection. On this screen at the bottom left hand side are a couple ofchoices one of which is repair your system click this the rest isself explanitory. I would wait for the WHQL drivers.

How to change language Italian to English

Is it possible to change from an Italian language Windows Vista back to UK language? So far changing the parameters from control panel have no effect am i stuck with Italian Windows? Or am i missing something?

You would need the Windows Vista Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI) or at least the freely available Windows Vista Language Interface Pack (LIP) to do that:

Followed deactivate instr but uninstall errors out

I followed the instructions to deactivate the serial number, including checking the box to erase it when the uninstall is complete. Then I proceeded with the uninstall via the control panel as instruction. It errors out without much explanation. Then I borrowed the installation CD again to reinstall and it also errors out. So I'm stuck in the Twilight Zone, unable to get this thing off my machine. I've spent over an hour on this website trying to figure out what to do. Anybody got any bright ideas? Thanks.

Frankly I never heard of anything requiring me to know the "system
language". Vista op system is all I know. It was a Photshop C4 CD. Yes,
I'm the administrator of my laptop. That's all I know about it.
Let's just skip it. It doesn't seem to have hurt anything that it didn't
uninstall correctly; I was just trying to cleanly remove it so I could give
it to someone in the office who needed it worse than I. She was able to

Move Flash Settings to AppData\Roaming instead of Local?

I have a Network site license for Adobe CS4 Flash. However, my users Settings KEEP deleting because they are stored in AppData\Local instead of AppData\Roaming (Windows 7) or Local Settings\Application Data instead of just Application Data (XP).
In a Network, local settings are deleted on logoff.
WHY on EARTH would Adobe Change this? We have been running Adobe Flash (Macromedia before that) for 10 years and we never had issues with MX, Flash 8, Flash 9 or CS3 but in CS4 all the settings move to the ONE folder that deletes on logoff?
The weird thing is that Dreamweaver CS4, Photoshop CS4, Indesign CS4 and Illustrator CS4, Fireworks CS4 ALL store their settings in the Application Data folder, not the Local one.
It is JUST Flash that is being annoying.
I have upgraded to 10.0.2 and it hasn't made a difference.
I need to figure out the hack to fix this asap as it is driving my users crazy.

With Flash CS3 it stored it in the AppData\Roaming. In fact ALL the Adobe products still do, except Flash.
Here is the documentation on where they have designated the Preferences to save. Note the "local settings" for XP and the Local for Windows 7.
Kind of very dumb because the Local Settings deletes on logoff..

1-none of the above programs installed in my pc, and none of them appear to be in control panel.
2-are you sure that norton security and creator burning media are free?????
May be they are active for some time and then you'll be asked for payment?

The Utilisation of Firefox causes Windows Vista Language Bar to disappear.

Every time I open Firefox, Windows Vista Language Bar will be missing. Once I close Firefox, Language Bar reappear. It causes trouble whenever I wanna write in different languages.

I disabled the auto-updates after the second auto-update yesterday (and after the Time Machine restore to 10.9.1). The update had already been downloaded prior to that. Apps started nagging me this morning about the update - again. There is no "cancel" option, all I do is click on "Remind me tomorrow". I suspect it will install it again anyway in the days ahead, or I may go ahead and do the update and see if the nav bar is still there given the Preferences > General fix. Thanks.

Unfortunately, this is not possible.
Its a Portuguese Vista OS preinstalled and you cannot change the language.
If you want to use a English Vista the you have to buy an full original Vista OS in English language.
If you would use the Vista Enterprise and Vista Ultimate then you could download a Multilingual User Interface Pack (MUI).
But as a Home Premium user you cannot use the (MUI).

T61i Rollback Vista to XP - languages

I have a T61i, purchased in the Netherlands and preinstalled with Vista Business, for which I had a choice of installing in English, Dutch or French (English is my preference). I am now considering rolling Vista back to XP for performance and stability reasons (Vista ain't doing it, basically), but all the XP CDs I received with the machine seem to be labelled in Dutch, so I am not sure whether I will have the languate options at installation as I did with the Vista installation. Anyone know more about this?

XP cd are all produced in a separate language version, unlike vista where you can choose your language during installation.
So if you want XP in English, you actually would have to go aftermarket to get English.

How to select another language during installation of Vista on Satellite L30?

When starting up the toshiba L30 the first operating windows vista basic in dutch was selected by mistake. The vista was installed. I tried to format PC and reinstall the windoes vista basic from the Cd´s again but still it would not allow me select the english OS.
Unfortunately this was a mistake and i do not understand dutch. Is thereany way i can reinstall os in english.?

As far as I know every notebook is delivered with one preinstalled language (country depending). If you have bought your notebook in Holland the recovery image (preinstalled on your notebook) will be on Dutch language. Recovery image contains OS on one language only and when you start recovery installation you can not switch between different languages. When select language window occurs you can just continue using OK button.
If you need OS on English language you must buy Microsoft installations CD/DVD (English).

Zire 71 Hotsync vista and also Change Language

I have just purchase a Used Zire 71 for my Wife (never been used ) but unfortunately the language is FRENCH and although I knew that when I purchased it I assumed that it would be a selectable option _ WRONG !!
How can I download the ENGLISH version of the Software - cannot find much on the Palm website. ( no disc with PDA)
On the subject of the Hot Sync- I have downloaded the Desktop version Win414EN .exe I am using Vista , and done the first Hotsync using the cradle supplied, and it downloaded all the empty address book, etc, including 3 sample photos.
I have then tried entering an address firstly on Palm Desktop and then secondly on the Handheld and it tells me that the sync was successful, but it does not transfer the address that I entered on either the Desktop or handheld ?? so it is not syncing in either direction
Any suggestions . I have checked the settings and they seem correct.
Any suggestions ?? I would like to get this doing a sync even If we have to put up with French language
I am used to Palm PDA's as I had a Tungsten E before it died

To switch languages on the Palm, you must hard reset the unit. This will erase the contents of the handheld (not a problem in your case since you don't have any data on it yet) and should ask you to select a new language. You won't need a CD to change the language on the device. Most Palm devices come preloaded to support multiple langagues.

You really should have the languages all line up. That is to say, if you want English, you should be using an English version of Windows Vista, Palm Desktop, and Palm OS. I don't know if having French loaded on the Zire is causing the problem.
If you get English loaded on your Palm and you are still having trouble HotSync'ing data from the PC to the Palm and back again, you may want to "upgrade" to Palm Desktop 6.2.2. It does not have all of the same features as Palm Desktop 4.x, but it is Windows Vista compatible.
