Language preference

Hi,
In my web application we are using a third party to implement the struts components. For the model we are using the web services. And we have some java wrapper classes in between the action classes and the webservices. Now we are working for multi languages.
In this senario where should we set the local object when user selects a different language. Whether it should be set in Acion class or in java wrapper class?

I don't think so, I would be happy to have such function too.
In the French iBook store there is a section where you can find books by language, I guess in other countries there is the same section. But it's not really convenient…

Language preference in Safari search bar

Hi all
I can change my language preferences on the Google search page, but this does not carry over to the Safari search bar. Typing a search item into the Safari search bar produces results relevant to my current location. For example, I am in Germany at the moment, so get results in German. If I use VPN, I get results relevant to where that server is located. Is there any way to change the results language preference for the Safari search bar?

Having downloaded Version 2.5.4 (v2.5.4) and attempting to run it with Safari 1.3.1 (v312.3.3) I get the error message "This verson of safari enhancer is not designed for your version of safari".
I am in UK and would like Google UK to be my search engine in the Safari bar.
Where am I going wrong?

Language preference won't revert back on e-mails and texts

I changed my language preference to French under settings/general/language&region, to test a French app and later reverted back to English. This somehow has affected my e-mails and texts and now my e-mails and texts language (spell check) is french. I've verified the language setting and it is English . . .Apple support wants to charge me $35.00 for the priviledge of telling them they have defects in their product.
Any help here would be appreciated.

spellcheck is determined by the keyboard setting (not language). Tap the globe key and switch to English. Or go to settings/general/keyboard/keyboards and delete the French keyboard which was probably added when you played with the French language preference.

How to delete or put in order a foreign language preference

I know where and how to set language preferences. A non-English language I want to be THIRD in priority keeps getting put as FIRST. I delete it from the list, close the browser and re-open, and the deleted language is back as FIRST.
Running Win 7, Firefox 28.0 on a Dell Inspiron 530

In the profile folder, there is a file prefs.js (dated 3-25-14) which is NOT read only. Then there are files prefs-X.js where X = 1 - 27 which were created yesterday and today which ARE all checked read only.
You say above "copy this pref line to the file" but I do not know what that refers to.
And I had opened the preferences_not_saved article yesterday, which had so many cross references that my head exploded :-) and I didn't know how to proceed.

Os language preferences not changing system menu and windows

Hello fellow problem solvers;
I am trying to switch system preferences to French from English under X.4.3, and after log out or reboot Finder, File, Edit, View, and Go , stay in English in the finder. Applications that have localisations work fine, language inputs also have always worked.
I tried trashing preferences, even tried TinkerTool system, running a terminal command to delete the start up var files that recall the new installation program from another post on the forum.
I can't get it to work on any of the Mac's here on Tiger but it works on all on Panther.
Is this a bug, or is there something I can do to get the finder menu bar, and system windows to go back to the set system language, short of an archive and install?

I did an archive , reinstall and update by software update. That worked for the three computers. I don't know why the language package didn't work any longer as I checked with Pacifist and they were installed.
The only thing that is quite bothersome is now on the old computer the cron task weekly takes 15-20 mins if ever. Something is playing with the database.
I tried permissions, empty caches, DiscWarrior etc but it still is excessively slow.
There are two X.4.3 on the same disc each on their own volume. Any ideas?

Language preference is over riding workflow changes

In performance management module when a manager finishes their associate's appraisal and shares the finalize appraisal with their employee, the seeded notification included data in the notification that we did not want included in the notification. The notification would normally display all the appraisal details and objectives nicely laid out in the email. We modified the workflow in workflow builder to essentially remove everything from the notification except for one sentence.
This change is working correctly except for when a user goes into the user preferences and changes the default application language to something other than 'american english'. How does once stop this from happening. We have not found multiple versions of the workflow in workflow builder for each language, so i am unsure as to how we can attack this problem.
Any feedback or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Query regarding language Preferences

Hi All,
I have a requirement where I need to add 2 drop down columns to the standard existing page and when language is changed in preferences then it should affect for the newly added columns. I have added the those 2 columns through personalization. But when I change the language in the preferences, newly added columns language is not changed, other existing columns has changed their language. As per my knowledge new columns also should change the language. Please suggest me on this.

Hi All,
I found out the setup for this requirement. The setup is as follows.
Go to the page where personalization is done -> Click on the personalization link of the region where personalization is done ->click on Manage levels button -> Select the personalization done and click on Translate-> Here you can see the languages e.g Canadian French -> Enter the equalent Canadian French word so that it will reflect in the page when preference is changed.

AI don´t install language preference... any idea?

I have installed AI but it keep using portuguese as language. I want it in english... I changed my preferences on AAM but it still don´t work. Any help I appreciate it.
ID, PS, DW and Acrobat all installed successful in english.
My OS is windows 7 pro 64 bit.

I tried it but it keeping portuguese for AI. I have choosen english on AAM preferences since first install, and all other app are fine.
One more thing odd is the icon on AI 64 bit doesn´t display, the std AI appears fine.
Is there a conf file that I can change and force english as language?

How to change language/Preferences will not load up

I open iTunes and the main tabs are in chinese (which i cannot read at all) I looked on the apple website and it tells me to go to preferences and to change language there but when i preferences (which i think it is preferenses because it's in chinese and theres a (p) next to the chinese) It does not open up the box it should do. Someone help?

Go to Application Definition -> Globalization. There you can define how to derive the language.
I also recommend the appropriate chapter in the Application Builder Users Guide.

Site specific language preference

Some sites offer multiple languages but they have different formats per language. I would like to set to a preferred language different from the order set in Firefox. Is it possible? Otherwise I need to change the language every time I visit those sites again, after restarting Firefox (with the cookies cleaned)

Try editing the following preference in the about:config preference editor.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''intl''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''intl.accept_languages''' to open a small dialog where you can edit the text sent to the server.
Does it work??

Keyboard language preferences

Hi everyone!
I have a problem with my keyboard. My Adobe programs are in french (just install from CC) and it's ok for me. But I work with a "qwerty" keyboard and each time I open one of my program, it switch to "azerty".
Does'it have a way to setup a preference for the keyboard and "lock-it" in Adobe's programs?

For future reference, if there is any chance the keyboard layout will be changed, go to system prefs/accounts/login options and make sure the box is checked for Show Input Menu at Login.
Do you by any chance know what the keyboard layout may have been changed to (e.g. is there someone else who uses a different language or a Dvorak layout who last used your machine)?

(Using a different keyboard will normally not have any benefit, as key mapping is determined by software and will not be changed)

HCM Absence types- need to display in different languages in the same country based on user language preference

We are implementing in Belgium where we need to have absence in both dutch and French for the different user sets. Is there anyway to set up one absence type but have the different translations for the different user groups. There was a document ID 1619320.1 that referred to the fact that if the absences were created by a seedfile then they would be translated. Has anyone come across this issue whereyou need to display the same absence type for more than one language in the same country and how did you do this or did you have to set up separate absence types in the different languages which I do not want to do

If you are using Captivate 4 multi languages is a
posibility..
Set a User Variable to pass the language you want to a Flash
SWF whic is embeded (This can play and hold multiple audio tracks).
For example Captivate 4 will pass "french" to the embeded flash SWF
which will play the "french" track.
OR
you could just use branching ;)
