Language problems on itunes

Im currently in Germany b/c this is where my husband is stationed....When I go to iTunes everything is german, but the language set in preferences is English. Does anyone know how to change EVERYTHING in iTunes to English?
Gateway   Windows XP

You can open the Preferences by hitting Ctrl-, (comma). If the keyboard is different somehow, you can use the second menu from the left, and select the item all the way at the bottom.
The language preference is on the first tab on the left. It is the bottom pulldown. English is the 5th item in the pulldown list. You have to restart iTunes to see the language change.

  • Asian-English Language problem on iTunes

I have two computers. Both of them are PCs with Windows XP Pro OS. However, one of them has Asian Language package installed. First, I transfered Asian songs through the Asian Language PC. The Asian language ID3 tags displayed correctly in the iTunes and iPod. After, I connected the iPod to my other PC. All the Asian language ID3 tags were messed up on both iTunes and iPod. Is there any way that I can prevent this problem happen again, if I switch the connections of my iPod between the two PCs?

Some update to detail the problem after further investigation.
    Any idea is appreciated.
On EBP when we try to make a search for the available values we get "page cannot be found" error. This error occurs only if we login to EBP in a non-English language, i.e. either Turkish or Russian.
We don't get this error on all search helps but with the ones that have a non-latin character in the link. On the other hand the problem does not occur in all the links with non-latin characters. Some of the links with non-latin characters are working correctly.
    Steps for the Reconstruction
    1. Login to EBP in Turkish
    2. Goto Process GOA/"Genel çerçeve sözleşmesini işle" under  Contract Management
    3. Create a GOA
    4. On the initial screen of the GOA creation click on the "binnocular" at the line of under-over delivery tolerance/"Tsl.açığı/ fazlasıtoleransı"
    5. Since our SRM server is on SSL Internet Explorer first asks for displaying the non-secure items. The actual problem is that the link contains non-latin characters. You can see the link by clicking on and not letting the binnocular.
    6. However when you go down on the same page to the binnocular for the vendor/"Satıcı" search you get no errors. Because the non-latin characters are converted to ASCII codes.
I have also opened an OSS note on that.

  • Multiple problems with iTunes 12

    Problem 1:
I did a clean install of Yosemite on my mac, and updated iTunes (from 12 to 12.0.1) before I opened it. Since I have my iTunes Media folder in a different drive I used preferences to choose (really point to) the location. After clicking OK, the standard window asking about organizing folder came up and I said YES and then nothing happened. It was unable to recognize my old media folder. I haven't been able to make it work. How can I get iTunes to recognize my previously purchased music? Do I have to manually re-import everything?
    Problem 2:
I deleted my iTunes folder and restarted iTunes, and then created a new iTunes Media folder (empty) on the same drive I have my "old" iTunes Media folder (with all my music/movies/tv shows). I noticed that when I clicked on 'MyMusic' (of 'MyMovies' etc.) the covers of all my iTunes purchased albums appeared with a little cloud. Since most of my music is iTunes bought, I figured this was ok to have it this way and use my old folder as a backup for my music. But then I clicked on "Clear all History and Website Data" on SAFARI (?!?!?!) and everything disappeared (?!?!?!) and I couldn't get it back unless I deleted my iTunes folder in my startup drive and began the process all over again. How can I "reset" Safari (I know it's no longer called that) without it messing my iTunes set-up EVERY TIME? Or should I just alltogether forgo using the safari clear function?
    Problem 3:
I don't want any playlists anymore and I keep deleting them from the sidebar and they keep re-appearing. Is there a way to permanently delete them. Mind you that I have deleted all of them several times (4 or 5 times) and they don't all "come back" sometimes I get 10 playlists back, sometimes more, or sometimes less. It's really frustrating. Is there a way to permanently delete these playlists so they don't keep coming back? This happens whether or not I activate iTunes Match or not.
Since this is beyond frustrating and so surreal I don't know whether to get upset anymore. What I do know is that if these issues can't be resolved I don't think I can keep using iTunes as my primary media player, not out of anger or anything like that (it's just a piece of buggy software after all, not that big of a deal), but just because for my needs it's unusable as it is. As most of you, I've been a long term Apple user and original iTools member, so I'll pretty much weather the storm, but any assistance in resolving this issue prior to iTunes 12.0.2 would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks much,
    iTunes 12.0.1.26
    Safari 8.0
    Yosemite 10.10
MacPro (Early 2009) 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 12 GB RAM

    Regarding the album covers:
iTunes doesn't lower the resolution, but it might refuse to accept a cover at all if it's too big. A size of 1600x1600 should still be acceptable though.
To see a cover's actual resolution, click on the cover display on the sidebar to display it in a separate window, then right-click on this window and select 'actual size'.
Some of your problems might result from not applying the cover artwork to al tracks of an album. Keep in mind that every single track of an album has its individual cover and follow these steps:
    1) If your album doesn't have any artwork yet, select ALL tracks of that album, then drag & drop the cover image to the cover area in the sidebar.
    2) If the album has already some cover and you want to replace it, select ALL tracks, then right-click on them an select 'Information'. A dialog box 'Information on several tracks' (or so, I can only guess since I use the German language version of iTunes) appears and there is a cover field on the info tab - this is the first tab and also the one, that will initially display. This cover field is the location where you nedd to drag & drop your new cover image onto, in order to replace all the previous ones.
If you fail to follow the above recomendations, you might end up with a mix of different covers (or similar covers with different quality) on a single album.

  • Korean songs got cracked or broken on iTunes! How can I fix this? Can apple just offer a universal language applied to iTunes?

Korean songs got cracked or broken on iTunes! How can I fix this? Can apple just offer a universal language applied to iTunes?
English songs have right names but some Korean songs names got cracked .
I set English as the first language on my Mac and don't want to set up language in English.
    Thanks.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

  • Hi, dears i have a problem in itunes is not opening while i am trying to open it nothing happens i also tried to remove the sc info file but still i have the same problem

hi dera i have a problem whit itunes is not opening.
whil i am trying to open it nothing happens.
i also removed sc info files still i have the same problem
i any one know to how plz..........

You can try mp3val, that might fix them up.
Alternatively, if the files are in a standard <Artist>\<Album>\## <Name> layout then turn off Copy to iTunes Media folder when adding to library and use my script TagFromFilename to fill in the missing information.
iTunes often has an issue handling files with multiple tags. These may be introduced by other software such as Windows Media Player, Winamp, or MediaMonkey. Files may have both ID3v1 and ID3v2.x tags, and if I read the ID3 specification correctly, there is also support for multiple ID3v2.x tags each coded for a different language. When there are multiple tags iTunes behaviour can sometimes be unpredictable. In some cases edits to the metadata can be written to one tag, and visible in Windows Explorer, but iTunes insists on reading back unchanged values from the other. In such cases you can use Convert ID3 Tag > None several times followed by Convert ID3 Tag > v2.3 and whatever iTunes knows about the file will be written back to a clean tag. Embedded artwork is erased so needs to be reattached. Using my script CreateFolderArt before and then after the tag conversions is one way to workaround that part of the problem.
Also of note is that certain pre-defined genres are represented by a code number rather than text so that they can be presented in the local system language. There is always a possibility that Windows and iTunes have slightly different values in the look-up tables for some of these.

  • Language barrier in iTunes

I cannot change the language on my iTunes download to English. As I am in the desert serving right now and must go through a non-US satellite, it downloaded in German! I have changed the language setting to English in my properties to no avail. Of course, Apple has made contacting them with such a simple question **** near impossible to get an answer from them without navigating thru the whole site to finally end up here. I'm pretty sure I'll have to remove the program, but just wanted to ask them. Thanks Apple for making your site one of the most difficult for customer support!!

Thanks Apple for making your site one of the most difficult for customer support!!
Click the Support tab on any Apple web page (or select "Apple Service and Support" from the iTunes Help menu), then Click "iTunes Store" under the "iPod + iTunes" header in the Featured Support Topics section.
As to the language problem itself, I don't know what "properties" you mean, but just to make sure, take a look here:
    Tunes: Changing the display language
If it's the iTunes Store you're talking about, then as the other poster suggested, scroll down to the bottom of the main iTunes Store page and select the "Change Country" link. Note, though, that the iTunes Store prohibits use of a Store from outside of its country and may block such access.

  • Bug report?  Pagination language problem?

I've been trying to find a link to submit what I think is a bug in iTunes, but if you've ever looked for such a link, you'll get dizzy from all the circles you'll go through.
Anyway, so all of you will know and may know of a way to report it, there seems to be a minor bug with pagination when getting search results within iTunes.
In English: Do a search on an artist with more than 250 songs, which is the max number of songs iTunes can list on a page. Search Frank Sinatra - he has over 2400 songs. (Be sure to click the arrow next to his artist name in the artist column, then click 'see all songs by this artist') At the bottom right of the first page, you will probably see the word mehr or something like it. That's another language word for 'more'. Click it and you'll get the next page, but the language changes, and now you'll see the word 'previous' on the bottom left in whatever language happens to be the current flavor. It seems to rotate through all available languages. And yes, I do have English set as my language in the preferences.
Again, this is minor bug (if that's what it is) and since I know what it is, there isn't any problem using iTunes. But trying to navigate Apple's support pages to find a stupid "report a bug' link leaves me frustrated. This 'bug' has been there for a while, but I thought I'd finally let them know I've noticed it and see if they want to change it.
If I've posted this in the wrong forum; my apologies. Moderator, please locate where most useful.
    Best Regards,
    Bob

Hey, I see those Mehr and Zurucks, too!
    Here's the feedback page:

If you lose it again, you can easily find it by going to itunes menu > Help > Provide iTunes Feedback. No dizzy circles, pretty simple!

  • Changing country/language settings in iTunes?

    Hi!
I have just bought an iPod and installed iTunes with it. The problem is that there is no iTunes music store in New Zealand but I still want to browse music and podcasts.
However, the main page of the iTunes Music store is set in either Korea/Japan mode hence the symbols being mushed up and I can only see the pictures.
How can I change the country/language setting of iTunes bar having to remove and re-install it?
    Thank you in advance.

    And in addition:
    To change to another store
In left column select Music Store
In the main window of iTMS scroll down to the very
bottom: There is a dropdown menu located that lets
    you change to another store.
Great thanks!!! That was it! As it was only shown in strange symbols I didn't know what this menu was. I selected the only decipherable option (UK) and hey presto! I can now read the Music Store

  • Problem installing iTunes 64 v11.4

When I 1st installed iTunes 10 some time back, I followed these instructions: Ed Bott.  All worked just fine & I never had a problem w/iTunes or QuickTime.
I completely uninstalled iTunes & QuickTime to update both programs.  I couldn't find anything about installing iTunes 11 w/o bloatware, so I followed the above link hoping it'd be the same; apparently it's not.  QuickTime installed & is working just fine, but iTunes is giving me the attached errors.
    Can anyone help me w/this?
    My PC: Windows 7 Pro 64Bit w/SP1

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
Not an error message I recognise personally but the error has the same pattern as those discussed in the first and third boxes, suggesting that you've got an outdated .dll file that needs replacing. You should find AVFoundationCF.dll in the Apple Application Support folder. Delete it and then repair Apple Application Support. If that doesn't work go for the full tear down and rebuild.
QuickTime isn't needed unless you have certain older format video files or MIDI tracks in your library. I believe that Bonjour isn't needed if you don't want to use any of the library sharing features or wireless syncing and Apple Mobile Device Support isn't needed if you don't have any iOS devices. If you really need to worry about how much space these components take up then you probably need a bigger drive, but the main area of bloat is a bunch of .lproj folders used to support different languages when, presumably, you only need one of them,

  • Is anybody else having problems with itunes (10.6.3.25) and ipod touch (5.1.1)?

Lately I've been having a ton of problems with iTunes and my iPod Touch (4th generation). Lots of error messages such as can't connect to itunes store, incompatible application, ipod detected but not identifiable, invalid response received from device, unknown errors [mostly (0xE8000001)], problem with audio configuration, etc. I've done everything I could think of. Uninstalling iTunes (with all the components) then reinstalling with the newest version (10.6.3.25), running diagnostics and such. If it does appear (about 2% of the time) then iTunes freezes and/or it won't sync. I also try to change some info (song title, artist, artwork, etc)(when it DOES come up) and it shows up on itunes but not on my ipod. My ipod appears on my computer but not in iTunes under devices like its supposed to. I've been to all the support threads I can possibly find and NOTHING has helped. I also had the latest version for the ipod touch (5.1.1). And I've never had any issues with iTunes or my iPod touch before. I know I should probably try restoring my ipod but I absolutely do not want to do that unless I have to because i have a lot of music, apps, movies, etc I'm not able to back up. Also, I'm using a Windows 7 computer. Please Please help if you can, I am frustrated because I can't do anything.

If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

  • Problems with iTunes/ipad2  I'm trying to buy FREE apps and I'm being told my card is declined but I also have more then enough credit on my account! Anyone having this problem?

Problems with iTunes/ipad2  I'm trying to buy FREE apps and I'm being told my card is declined but I also have more then enough credit on my account! Anyone having this problem?

Part of the validation for credit cards is that they need to be registered to exactly the same name and address that you have on your iTunes account, which prepaid cards tend not to be. Do you have a proper credit card that you could use ? Or are iTunes gift cards available in your country so that you could try using them as your payment method ?
Until you have a valid payment method on your account and what you owe iTunes has been paid off then you won't be able to download any item from the store, including free apps (and updates to apps).

There certainly is a problem with itunes. I downloaded 9.2 and now it won't open. It won't recognize my iphone, either. I uninstalled it in the order recommended by the site, no joy. Deleted a configuration file, no joy. System Restore, no joy. All other software and hardware on the machine is working fine. I call AppleCare AND a local store, either they are completely clueless (which I doubt), or they have no idea how to fix it. I can't even back up my phone, or use the ipod. And since no one at Apple seems to care enough, I'll have to wait until the clamor is loud enough for them to even admit to a problem before I can use the ipod again.

Problems with itunes 8 and ipod shuffle gen 2.
I recently upgraded from itunes 7 to itunes 8 on my windows XP PC. That's when i had issues syncing my 2nd gen shuffle.
When i try to drag songs directly on it, itunes says i can't
I made a playlist and use auto fill. But when I remove it from the dock, it's either not updated, or the new songs are at the bottom of the playlist when they are supposed to be up higher. I end up having to hit auto fill twice to make it sync correctly.
    Computer Specs
    Windows XP SP3
384MB of Ram (works really good)
    USB 1.1 connection
Pentium 4 clocked at 1.285 GHZ
    IPOD Shuffle Specs
    2nd Generation
    1GB (964MB)
    Version 1.0.4
unchecked options: open itunes when ipod is attached, Sync only checked songs, convert higher bit rate songs to 128kbps AAC, Enable sound check, Limit MAX volume, enable disk use
All those are NOT checked. Sometimes i enable disk use for seeing the IPOD_Control folder, but either way it still messes up.
    Itunes Specs:
    Version 8.1.1.10

This is a well-known issue. Apple changed the internal file names used with iTunes 8, which makes the ordering on 2nd generation Shuffles behave differently. There is no good workaround, apart from moving the files with a hand-crafted AppleScript program.
Apple has been silent on the issue, so nobody knows if we'll ever have a fix for it or not.
