Language+Region

Hi there,
I bought a Lumia 620 in Dubai, I told the lady in charge that I live in the Netherlands and she assured me that I could use it in The Netherlands, a little naive, of course can I use in the Netherlands but I can't use it with the Dutch language, only English...
Is it possible to get a Dutch language package for my Lumia 620 ???
Thnx

If you bought the phone and did not check if Dutch was available that you're out of luck in any official shape or form.
Some Windows Phone firmware comes with limited langauges, most come with all.

I reset and erased my iphone 4 and now I can`t reinstall it! After I choose a language, region. and wifi, it says Please, try again later or contact customer care. I tried to do with iTunes, and iTunes even sees this iphone, but it`s like blank, there is nothing I can do in iTunes. It uploaded last software for this iPhone 4, but when it tries to do the reserve copy of iphone first, it shows a mistake. And ask to disconnect and connect the device again, which, obviously, doesn`t help.

This usually happens if the phone has been Hacked / Jailbroken / Modified...
    Is this the case...?
    If so...
    Then... Sorry... But...

  • Problems Report: Yosemite Language/Region and iOS 8.0.2 Bluetooth

    OS X YOSEMITE LANGUAGE/REGION PROBLEM:
Since I installed OS X Yosemite (10.10) on my 13 inch Macbook Pro Retina Late 2013, my Finder's Favorites and Tags appears in two different languages (English and Portuguese). I am from Brazil, however, I use my system in English. Whereas I set my language to English, my Finder should appear only in English.
As you can see, until Desktop option is in English, below it, everything is in Portuguese. Note that in Mavericks everything appeared in English as it should be. Same for the Tags, which is "Vermelho" instead of "Red" and so on, but "All tags" appears in English, instead of Portuguese.
Please Apple, do not forget to correct it for the next upgrade!
    iOS 8.0.2 BLUETOOTH PROBLEM:
Another problem I want to report is my iPhone 5S (iOS 8.0.2) Bluetooth connection, which has a big issue. Since iOS 8.0.2 upgrade, I could not use my Bluetooth anymore. My device can be found from other devices, such as my Macbook Pro, for example, however, I am not able to pair or even find any other device from my iPhone to others.
Hence, I am not able to use Handoff, connect to the car's DVD player, Headphones and so on.
What is going on there, Apple? Both this problems are amateurs. What is happening with the Test Software Engineering phase.
I was wondering if it would be possible to see some great news about both of this issues as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance for any further help from you guys.

  • Is there a less restrictive language/region filter for reviews?

International users can't see the majority of reviews in the AppStore (OSX&iOS) -- sometimes in their own national AppSto there are hardly any reviews.
I know that it IS possible to switch to the US AppStore and back, but this is inconvenient because at every switch the context is lost.
So don't offer me this as a solution !!!
My argument is that most apps are language/region agnostic.
Too many national stores are way too small to have enough reviews (think: BE, NL, they are all separate) or useful rating sample sizes.
I propose a less restrictive (configurable) filter on reviews, e.g, allowing additional AppStore regions and/or languages.
Being a Dutch speaker, I'd like access to the wealth of reviews in English (i.e., US+UK), Dutch (BE+NL), French, even Spanish (many countries) and German.
And I mean, NOT by visiting each national AppStore in turn.
Apple, please don't turn a deaf ear and address this major usability flaw for international users.
(I guess this is a non-issue in English regions, but not a reason for Apple to ignore the problem).
    Implementation hint:
    - The order of the language prefs could be an automatic way to implement a less restrictive language filter.
    - Otherwise, a multiple-choice dropdown menu in the AppStore review section could do the trick.

This would be best entered under the feedback request you can find here.   Yes, I am aware that they say they won't reply ... and that is not very encouraging.   The feedback address is bottom right.
Apple - How to Contact Us
I could envisage this as a very useful app.

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Trouble installing flash - could language & region be the cause?

I've been trying to install Safari Flash for my 10.9 Mac OS X System with no sucsess.
After checking all nessesary Safari settings, uninstalling flash and re-installing, and following all other procedures given on Adobe Flash Help pages it is still not working.
I reach as far as step 3 of 3, with a thank you for installing the program however it is not actually installed.
Could having my mac primary language in French and Adobe providing an English version of Flash be affecting this?

Is your region set to France?

You change the Language, that GarageBand uses, in the System Preferences. Make "English" the pprimary system language. Open the "Language&Region" pane and add "English" to the preferred languages. Drag it to  the top of the list. Then restart the computer.

  • Default language settings in SAP Integration Kit?

    Hi everybody,
    I've the following problem:
If I create a report with the SAP Integration Kit (create new report from a query) I get a prompt where I can type in (System Number, User, Password and LANGUAGE). If I now choose as language u201CEnglishu201D and create a report, save it and open it in crystal again, everything is still fine. But if I go to refresh the report, I get a prompt where I can choose the SAP BW and type in the System Number, User and Password but not the LANGUAGE. After the refresh the names of the fields are still in English but the data is now in German (or just the technical names, depends on the language settings in the query).
For me it looks like that the language settings of the refresh are by default in crystal is set to German, but the software is English. I didnu2019t find any way to change the default language to English or save it in the report.
I already tried to change the language/regional/keyboard settings of my machine and also tried to change the language in the crystal formula field u201Clanguagecode%u201D.
But even if I could have a unique change in some system settings, it really will not help me, because I have some queries in German and some in English, depending on the actual BW system.
If the SAP Integration Kit gives me the possibility to choose the language during the creation of the report it should then remember the choice!?
    Thank you for your help

  • RH7 Topics appearing in another language

Another completley random, strange bug. I have a few topics in my web help project (same project having the TOC inssue; http://forums.adobe.com/message/3891122#3891122, as it happens) which are appearing either blank or in Chinese. !
I'm wondering... the svn (tortoise) system, where I check in my files to build to the product, is accessed by people all over the place, including Taiwan and China. Could their local access (Chinese keyboards I assume) be glitching the files somehow? I did just verify the project language is set to English; the css doesn't talk about language per say, just specifiying fonts like Verdana. Past that, I can't begin to guess what might be happening.
And of course we need to release this in the next week.
    Thanks O helpful forum watchers!

  • Macbook Air 11" Log-In Language Unchangeable. Please Help!

    Hello All
I recently purchased this MacBook Air 11" from someone, and it had some folders in Asian (yes, I know Asian is not a language per se, but I do not want to say Simplified Chinese, or Japanese, or Korean, or whatever for fear of offending people that speak the language). I went to System Preferences and changed the language in region/language to English. The MacBook when purchased didn't have a password to login.
Later on my nephew recommended I format the system, so it was anew. He started to try formatting it, only realising that the language was still somehow Asian. He knew how to go by the prompts thankfully, and ended up formatting it with one wipe. It was still Asian fonts staring at us by the end of the process though.
He changed some of the settings and ended up getting it to show in English. He added a login/pw combo this time, and whenever we are faced with the login screen (you see below in the pic I took with my mobile) now, it is in Asian. Everything else seems to be in English, just that screen.
This worries me, as when I may need to format the system once more, what if the process pops up in Asian again, and I have no access to my nephew, I would be stranded!
Somehow, we came to the conclusion that this particular MacBook was set to have Asian as the default language. Am I wrong?
Login Screen (by the way, how does one take a screenshot of the login screen on a MacBook Air?)
I went through a few threads and none helped me. I took a screenshot of the Systems Preferences, in case someone tries telling me to go to the Language/Regional settings to change the language, as I do not have access to it through there.

  • Problem with PDF forms not having language property--not passing accessibility tests.

Why doesn't LiveCycle Designer pass the language region to the PDF language property? Anyone know how to fix this problem?

    Hi Pat
Looks like IE6 and Acrobat 6 have sync problems. The fact is emphasized by the fact that there were several postings regarding this issue on this forum as well as on Adobe's forum too.
Right now, one of the options is to pre-create the PDF file and serve it to the users.

Your help appraciated. Thanks in advance

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

If it's not listed in language+region settings, then you cannot download it, maybe that's why Nokia did not release it in Turkey yet
BTW, you would get the same answers from same person in your own language if you've visited local boards

  • Favorites bar in finder in two languages

    Hi there,
I recentley purchased a macbook Pro 13" from 2011. Then installed Yosemite after using Maverics for 12 Months on another MB.
The computer was originally set up in german but I then changed the language to english (and all other settings).
The problem is (only minor) but bizarre:
When I open the Finder my Favourite bar appears in two languages. Also the tags appear in two languages.
I tried setting the language back to german (it stayed german for two days), then back to enlish again(it remained englisch for two days).thensuddenly- Same issue. The language was in english and german again...
I have posted a screenshot so yo understand what i‘m talking about...as you might think I'm nuts otherwise...
Have you come across this issue before ? Bug ? Fix ?
looking forward to your input ;-)
    Cheers Gareth
PS I forgot to add: My girlfriend has another user account which is set to german (no issue there). The problem existed before her account was added though.

    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Language & Region
Deselect each unwanted language from the list and click OK. Then select your region from the Region menu.
Close the preference pane. You may have to log out and log back in for the change to take effect.
If there's no change, reset the PRAM.
