LAP not retaining configuration

Hello all ,
This is the second time in a couple of weeks i am facing the same issue.
I have some 1142-lap that i have to deploy in my office.
I have successfully deployed 5 out of 8 LAPs .
Actually the LAPs was not discovering the controller automatically.
So i had to configure the Controller ip adress through the console in tha AP using the CAPWAP command.
Then the AP promptly associates with the controller.
Later on i configure the AP name - Primary , Secondary , Tertiary Controllers and everything else and saved it on the controller.
This worked out well for the 5 LAPs that i had.
But started facing a peculiar problem with the rest three
As soon as i disconnect the AP from my desk and have it mounted on the celing , to my surprise if find that the LAP doesnt retain its configuration and also doesnt associate with the Controller.
Cant imagine what could be the issue.
I have been told that one CANT wite/save any configuration manually on tha LAP using the console, except by associating it with the controller.
Is it a fault with the AP ( as the other APs are working absolutely fine)

Hi,
No you can have the access points either on the same subnet as the WLC or on a different subnet than the WLC.
If the access points are on the same subnet as the WLC, the AP once it gets an IP address from the DHCP server it will send a braodcast join request on the same subnet as the WLC and the WLC would reply back allowing the AP to join the WLC.
If the access point is on a different subnet then the WLC, than we will need to use a layer 3 discovery method so that once the access point gets and IP address it also knows the IP address of the WLC and instead of sending a broadcast request it will send a join request to the specifc WLC IP address to join.
You can use option 43 or DNS lookup
The last option we can use would be to configure a static IP address on the AP using the console port with the IP address of the default gateway and the WLC IP address to join.
Also if the APs are on a different subnet we need to make sure that either the LWAPP or CAPWAP ports are not blocked between the AP subnet and the WLC subnet by an ALC or firewall.
A. Follow these guidelines when you use CAPWAP:
If your firewall is currently configured to allow traffic only from access points that use LWAPP, you must change the rules of the firewall to allow traffic from access points that use CAPWAP.
Make sure that the CAPWAP UDP ports 5246 and 5247 (similar to the LWAPP UDP ports 12222 and 12223) are enabled and are not blocked by an intermediate device that could prevent an access point from joining the controller.
If access control lists (ACLs) are in the control path between the controller and its access points, you need to open new protocol ports to prevent access points from being stranded.
The access points use a random UDP source port to reach these destination ports on the controller. In controller software release 5.2, LWAPP was removed and replaced by CAPWAP, but if you have a new out-of-the-box access point, it could try to use LWAPP to contact the controller before it downloads the CAPWAP image from the controller. Once the access point downloads the CAPWAP image from the controller, it uses only CAPWAP to communicate with the controller.

Hi all
We get the following warning message even though we are not using SSL.
"The SSL support feature is not properly configured. Https is not available."
I tried with the following parameter set to false in the MobileEngine.config, still the same warning occurs for each synchronization done. But the sync works fine.
MobileEngine.Security.SSLSupport=false
Had any body come accross this one, if so please let me know.

The error "The SSL support feature is not properly configured. Https is not available" will not cause any problems for you during synchronization. The reason that this error is displayed is due to the fact that by default MI is configured to support HTTPS Synchronization and not HTTP. This is because it is recommeded to use HTTPS sync inorder to transmit data in a secure manner and this is very necessary in customer production system. This so called error will not have any impact on sync but is just an information to the administrator. This can be disabled by the use of parameter <b><i>MobileEngine.Security.SSLSupport=false</i></b> but make sure that this parameter is set to false even before performing the first sync i.e before obtaining a device id. If you set this value to false after performing some syncs, the error is still visibile in either the Web Console or the NetWeaver Administrator because it would have been sent by the previous sync and these statments are retained and never purged. Hope this helps and clarifies your doubts.

DHCP snap-in will not retain window settings, columns, etc.

DHCP (version 6.3) will not retain window settings or columns after being closed. I haven't been able to find any information on this so far. Has anyone else had this issue?

I understand your issue. The DHCP management console won't save the view customize settings.
We could customize the DHCP management console using MMC (Microsoft Management console)snap-in, customize it and save it to a place. Doing this makes the console remembered the configuration.

Outgoing server password not retained

I have configured my iPhone for 2 email accounts: gmail and OptOnline. According to my ISP (OptOnline), I must use their outgoing mail server. OK, no problem.
I configured my outgoing server to be the OptOnline server, along with my username and password and I'm able to send email.
The problem is that my password is not retained. So 10 minutes later, I cannot send email. When I look at the Advanced Mail settings, the Outgoing Server password field is blank. It should contain asterisks like the other password fields.
Any ideas?

You are not meant to see passwords. Usually the Outgoing password is the same as the Incoming.

MP3 song information not retained after iTunes 7.0 - ID3 tags at fault?

I'm having some strange problems with track information in iTunes. I first noticed it when I tried to copy some mp3's from my Mac to my mobile phone: certain tracks did not retain the song information, like artist, album etc., while others did.
A similar problem has been discussed in this post:

However, my problem seems to be a little bit more specific.
If I look at the music in my library in iTunes, all the track information is there. However, for MP3's encoded after 16th October last year, the "Imported With" field, using Get Info, is shown as "Unknown". Before this date, it is shown as "iTunes v7.0". For all MP3's the ID3 version is v2.2.
I believe that I must have upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1 around this time, since I have a number of Apple Lossless audio files which have also been imported and don't show this problem.
The main problem is with the file ID3 tag information (I think). If I select one of the problem tracks, find the original file, open it up in Quicktime and "Get Info", no track/album/artist/composer information is displayed. This is NOT true for 1) MP3's encoded before 16th October 2006 and 2) Apple Lossless files encoded at any time.
In other words, the track information for songs encoded with iTunes 7.0.1 and later is either encoded in a way that no other application can read, OR is only being stored in the iTunes playlist, NOT the file itself. I can see all the track information for these problem files on my iPod, but NOT my mobile phone (where I have to manually copy them over), even if I drag and drop them directly from iTunes.
I have this problem with Quicktime, my mobile phone music player and RealPlayer, so I'm assuming it's "system wide". It even occurs if I copy a problem file out of my music folder and onto the the Desktop, then manually add the track to iTunes: all the song information has disappeared.
I have all my music stored on an external hard disk - 160GB Freecom ToughDrive formatted as HFS+. Previously it was stored on an external disk formatted as FAT32, but copying the files over to the new disk didn't change the problem.
I considered using the "convert ID3 tags" option to see if it would make a difference, but both the good and bad files are listed as using v2.2. I also don't understand enough about them to feel confident converting them to something different - perhaps to v2.3 or v2.4 - just to see if it makes a difference.
Any information on how to "recover" the missing information (for anything other than iTunes) would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, some more information as I try and track down the source of the problem.
By using an id3 tag editing program - ID3 Editor - I was able to view the song information for each track, even though all the other music players I had tried would not show it. If I then chose to modify and update the ID3 information, this would somehow modify the tags in such a way that they become readable in all other programs.
I tried using the "Convert ID3" tags option in iTunes, just on a whim, but without any success. Saving the song information in ID3 Editor doesn't change the version of the ID3 tag - it's still listed as v2.2 in iTunes - but it DOES make it readable in other programs. I also tried the various text conversion options, again without any success.
This looks to me like a bug in iTunes. While its possible for me to get around it, in an extremely long winded way, I still can't understand why iTunes would be writing ID3 information that other Apple programs cannot read.
Any suggestions? Should I be posting this question in a different forum perhaps?

IDoc output type not getting configured in IDoc-File scenario

I am having IDoc to file scenario where I want to post Delivery Document to legacy system. For this I have configured following EDI configuration for Delivery through NACE transaction
1] Created output type
2] Created partner function as EDI LS for this output type
3] Configured RSNASTED as Processing Routines for output type
4] Included this output type in the Header output procedure
5] Configured XI system as the partner in partner profile with appropriate Message control
Still when I attempt to include this output type in the Delivery it gives me "Output for partner could not be configured". The detail message says "In Customizing, the 'CannotBeChanged' indicator has been set for output type".
I checked in SPRO but could not find such flag.
Does anyone had came across such output type configuration.

Reports not retaining carriage returns from htmldb_item.textarea

Im created a tabular form for multi row updates using htmldb_item.textarea for one of the fields. When I update the tabular form it keeps any carriage returns in this field, which is good. I then created a PL/SQL function body returning a SQL Query report for printing purposes. The problem is that the field populated by the htmldb_item.textarea does not retain any of the carriage returns in the report.
I enter the following in the textarea on the tabular form:

Line 2
Line 3
The report I created then displays the data as:
Line 1 Line 2 Line 3
I need the report to display the data the same as it appears on the tabular form.
I tried this in my report from reading other similar situations on this forums, but didnt work.

In the text area replace #COLUMN_ALIAS# with <PRE>#COLUMN_ALIAS</PRE>. You will get your newlines without tweaking the query or removing Strip HTML. Strip HTML is a security feature that I would not disable. On the down side you will loose some of the ability to format like fonts etc (:-(,
Here is why you loose the newlines in the report. When browsers render html they have the liberty to reformat it. When reformating they can play around with whitespaces including new lines. To force a new line you have to use the BR tag or you can say the text is preformated using the PRE tags.

Office 2013 ODT The operating system is not presently configured to run this application

We have RDS 2012 R2 setup up and running with session host, connection broker, rd gateway and rd web. AS office 2013 can be deployed using APP-V 5 SP2, we have created .appv pkg using ODT as mentioned in this
guide . It was working fine for 2 days and then suddenly we started to get error popup window saying
"The operating system is not presently configured to run this application" . We are receiving this error on Session host server(win 2k12 r2) which is App-V 5 sp2 client, when we try to open any office 2013 app.
And If check on App-v server which is also a publishing server. In event viewer i see this log entry.

We have the same issue. All other applications seem to work fine.
App-V 5.0 SP1 with hotfix package 2 installed on the App-V Management/Publishing server. We only use Windows Server 2012 RDS instead of R2. On the RDS servers, App-V 5.0 SP2 is installed. We use User Profile Disks and also used the ODT for Office
2013.
I our case it worked for a few hours. We didn't change anything (no updates of other things) other than having a few users try to login with different accounts to test the application. Reinstalling the client doesn't work and we also tried to removed
all AppVClientPackages and then clear the cache from locations like:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\AppV\Client\VFS
C:\ProgramData\App-V
I'll post a solution if I find one.

Since I upgraded to ISo6 my iPhone 4s will not retain Wifi passwords

I'm hope that someone can help as this problem is driving me NUTS.
Since I upgraded both my Iphone 4s and Ipad 3 to ISO6. I've had nothing but problems with Wi-Fi access, inititally neither machine would remember the home networks (or any others) then suddenly the IPad3 fixed itself but still my Iphone 4s will not retain the password.
It was always able without any problems to retain the passwords for any Wi-Fi networks before the upgrade - but no more.
I've tried pretty much everything that I read about from a reboot, resetting the wifi setting, resetting all settings, a factory reset and a restore - nothing helps! The iphone connects to the network no problem - but if you go out or if the phone locks and more than 30 minutes goes by - it'll have forgotten the networks and will require that you reenter the password. Which is getting more than annoying.
Given what I've tried I'm thinking that the software somehow got screwed up a little when it installed and I need to completely reinstall the ISO. I also noticed the personnel hotspot is missing!
Any help really appreciated as it's driving me crasy.

I read someone said you can tap on "other" when selecting which wifi you connect to and then entering the exact wifi name of the network you wish to join and the password and then joining that network allowed the password to be saved. Also with iOS 6 the minimum length of the password needs to be 8 characters. Maybe you password on your router is less than 8 characters long

Screen values are not retained in Tcode BP, onclick of SAVE button

In Tcode BP, I am selecting a Role with the Business Partner number. COMPANY CODE Push button on the Top is Enabled and Click on that.
Enter the Company Code and provide the Account management tab by providing Reconciliation Acct 120113, Sort key as 035, Planning Group as E1. Go to Payment Transaction Tab, Enter the Payment terms as Z003, check Record payment history. Now, Click on SAVE Button on the TOP.
The issue is that, The screen values are not retained in the Payment terms tab and Customer is not Created after saving of a BP Number which is related to a Customer.

Exporting a single Event retains the Event name which is what I'd expect. But highlighting more than one event and exporting it renames the images to Events 001.JPG, Event 002.JPG etc.
I was recently on holidays and had all my events nicely split on Dad's computer but when I went to export it I couldn't retain any of this information. Now I have to replicate this all again on my computer.
It wasn't possible to export the entire library as the external drive was fat32 format an I didn't want all of it. It would be nice to export a bunch of events to someone and have it retain the name.
Does anyone have a work around or will this be fixed at some point by Apple?

Can not install ITunes on my laptop....no itunes are remaining on the laptop. Error says itunes can not be configured.

There is no ITUnes grogra on my laptop....so nothing to delete. ITunes error says that it can not be configured. Have tried dumping my temp file and restarting....no help.

I am new to JSF's and using JBoss 4.2.0 application server.

Tomahawk1.1.3 ugrade exception...ExtensionsFilter not correctly configured.

I new to the world of JSF and im presently playing around with MyFaces Tomhawk implementation.
I tried the tree example using tomahawk.jar ,myfaces-api and myfaces-impl.
I was able to get the tree working with these version of jars.
But now when i upgraded to the latest jars i.e

Hi,
I have made some changes and it is now working.But i want it work in a portlet.There it is showing the text box but not the pop up button.It works fine as a stand alone application.How can i resolve this??

I am unable to open the latest update (10.4) iTunes not properly configured

when I attempt to open it says iTunes was not properly configured and then close - I can't reinstall 10.2 since 10.4 in installed; it won't repair because mid-way thorugh it pops up "itunesresources is not an accessible file... make sure you have access to this file" and stops the repair.
any thoughts?
I HAVE used 10.4 since upgrading - I shut down my computer; when I rebooted a few days later, this is what happened...

It sounds like you are unable to open iTunes after installing a recent update. I would recommend the troubleshooting in the following article:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
