Lap Top cannot connect

I just bought the WRT400N router. I was able to connect 2 desk top PCs and one lap top using Wireless-N USB network adapters with dual-band and 1 compact Wireless-G us adapter. I am trying to install the latter on a lap top.
The telephone rep was able to help me connect the first lap top, but I forgot how to repeat the process.
Apparently, the lap top already has a wireless card, and the computer does not know which one to use. I guess I need to delete the old adapter, but I do not remember how.
I cannot get the lap top to get to the point where I need to type in the security key.

Yes, you have to delete your wireless network profile and then attempt to connect to your wireless network to get a chance to enter the Network Key...
To do this -
Click on Start and goto the Control Panel and double click on Network Connections, right click on Wireless Network Connection and click on Properties.
Now on this window, click on the second tab Wireless Network and give a check mark on "Use windows to configure my wireless" and then remove all the network names present in the Preferred Networks Window. Then click on OK...
Right click on the Wireless Network Connection again and click on View Available Wireless Networks and try to re-connect to your network...
Now it will give you the opportunity to put the network/wep key, make sure you enter the correct network key and confirm it...
It will connect...

Brand New MacBook Pro Cannot Connect to Airport Express

Hi all,
Been reading through these pages and I think there are many others with the same problem as me but with no real answer, I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask anyway.
I have an Airport Express which I bought a couple of years ago. It initially worked fine on my old MacBook, I moved house and then it stopped working (flashing amber light syndrome). I got so fed up with it that it has been languishing in the loft ever since.
After a brief stint with a Windows laptop I decided it was time to return to Apple, and I haven't regretted it for a second.....until I got the Airport Express from the loft!
It simply, fundamentally and irrevocably...doesn't work! It's plugged in, amber light flashes but my nice new MacBook Pro just doesn't even recognise it exists. I have tried running the setup utility but at the first screen I am told that no unit is detected, I'm then told to check my Airport card (I assume it means the inbuilt modem which clearly works as I am writing to you guys now!). I can't even progress with the setup after this.
I have tried each of the Airport setup utilities to no avail (lap top cannot "see" AX).
Just as an update, I just connected my AX to my wireless router with an ethernet cable, a new network called 6ad16d appears to be available. Airtunes then works and I can connect to the internet (albeit slowly). I am not happy with this arrangement though as there is no padlock next to the new Apple network so I am worried that it isn't secure and surely I should be able to just plug my AX into the main and my hifi and it should work anyway?....just like it used to!
My apologies for the rambling post and please excuse my lack of computer knowledge. I really hope someone can help!

Fixed! You jut need a girlfriend with a lot of determination....not even sure she knows how she did it. Involved a lot of menus and a lot of swearing.
Surely this should be easier?!

Lap top to printer problems

when I set up my printer to my lap top and put in the password for the printer it disconnects my lap top and connects the printer please help so that i can run both devices at the same time. I have the hp deskjet 2540 all in one series

I see you are having problems keeping your HP Deskjet 2540 and notebook connected to your wireless network simultaneously. Are you using the Auto Wireless Connect feature, I think you may be connecting your computer to the printers network that it is broadcasting, causing the connection to fail. Please take a look at the troubleshooting documents below:

Cannot connect 2nd lap top to the internet

What exactly is the problem? What are you doing exactly to connect and what is happening (exact error messages if there are any)? In particular, do you have a connection to the router or not?

I am trying to connect my lap top to my HP Photosmart C4580. I have lost the software disk .

I have a Toshiba Satellite pro and a HP printer Photosmart C4580 which i purchased together in Harvey Norman Belfast. on 19/07/09. I have never been able to use the Blue tooth facility. I understand you no longer have the installation disk for your Photosmart C4580, and that is okay!

Also, if you cannot print your email after installing the printer, try printing from another web browser and that might help!

File Sharing lets you transfer files between iPad and your computer. You can share files created with a compatible app and saved in a supported format.

About three days ago the ability to connect came and went and the connection never lasted more than 10-15 minutes; it has not been able to connect since last night. I do not think it's my wifi router as non-mac lap top has no issues. I have seem many similar questions posted.

Reboot your router by removing all power from it for about 15 seconds. Also, if your router still has its default SSID (such as LINKSYS, DLINK, NETGEAR, etc) change the SSID to something unique. Note that all other devices on your network will have to be reconnected if you change the name, but if the name is still the default that is most likely your problem.
If the SSID is not the default then the reboot should fix it.

While transferring Adobe from laptop to PC the licensing files got corrupt and the right way to use Adobe Applications is to install first as transferring from a different machine can give you problems.
You can try steps from this article if that helps otherwise you have to reinstall and manually delete some files , everything is mentioned.

I have recently got a new windows lap top and transfered by itunes library to it successfully. i cannot however sync downloads to my ipod classic and my lap top is not recognising the ipod at all. Please help ! Thank you.

I have spoken to apple and they think its a settings issue on my pc ? I have fully deleted and then reinstalled itunes .

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

Are you using the Sky Go app to try and watch it ? If so are you logged in with your Sky account ?
If you are using the app then you could try closing the app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Sky Go 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Sky Go app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

You can share the same Apple ID for purchasng form the iTunes and app stores without any problems, but you should all used separate iCloud accounts with separate Apple IDs. (You are not required to use the same ID for iCloud and other services as you do for the iTunes store.) This will prevent you from ending up with merged data. You should also use separate Apple IDs for iMessage and FaceTime or you will end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.

I got some more info that may help.
I put a cd on my laptop, and was able to share it to my computer... So the problem is only from my computer to my laptop. I tried the firewall thing and it did not help. I read the rest of the trouble shooting page, and nothing else applies. iTunes is an execption and already was. I can not think of anything else being my problem. Do you think I should re-install iTunes or would that be a waste of time? At this point I am about to just call Apple for some help because I am getting to stressed over this.

Guess I understand what is going on as I'm also experiencing the problem.
Basically the issue is about the iPhone 4's personal hotspot.
I'm trying to hook on personal hotspot to my toshiba laptop but it couldnt work as the connection is limited to local only without Internet access.
The hotspot works well on other laptop and I-devices, but not my toshiba...
