Lap top Sound Problem
My HP laptop stops playback.. OS windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried to restore system settings.Still I could not get sound.

I understand that you lost the sound on your notebook. You tried doing a restore but it did not come back.
Here is a link to No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8) that will aid in overcoming this issue.
My last two suggestions to overcome this difficulty are Refresh Your PC to Resolve Problems (Windows 8) and Performing an HP System Recovery (Windows 8)
While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files to prevent data loss. If you have not done one yet, it is a perfect time.

You may also consider contacting HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help you overcome difficulties.

Strange Tablet/Lap top/Software problem???
I wasn't at all sure where to post this issue... is it software or hardware or what?
I have a HP dv7 laptop with Win 7 Home OS.
I have the BB Playbook with the most up-to-date OS.
All software and drivers are up-to-date AND I'm using the latest version of the Blackberry Desktop Software.
Here's the bizarre phenomenon I'm experiencing:
I plug in the tablet through USB.
Immediately the Desktop software launches as usual.
But the BB Desktop software insists my device isn't connected so... I check it out.
I change USB ports... nothing.
I change USB cables... nothing.
I check Windows Explorer and it doesn't indicate the tablet is connected so now I'm thinking, something's missing here.
I open device manager and under network adaptors, there's the RIM device adaptor.
I unplug the tablet while I stay in Device Manager and when I unplug the tablet... network adaptor goes away so obviously the computer knows it's there but still it fails to show as a connected device in explorer while all other storage devices do.
I reboot the laptop and the tablet and try again... same thing. I uninstall the desktop software, reboot the computer and once it's been fully loaded, I again plug in the tablet, the desktop software comes up, the device manager sees the tablet, the explorer does not and still the desktop software wants me to connect a device.
Any ideas that maybe I haven't tried??? I'm stuck. I can't back up, share files, or anything with the tablet failing to make a solid link. I called tech support and they don't seem to have a clue. So I'm discouraged.
Thanks for any and every idea you might have. I would wipe the tablet if I thought that might make a difference but if I do that and still have the same problem, obviously, I won't be able to restore any of my backed up files.

My lap top is extremly slow. It studders. It kind of sounds like there is a fan inside and it constantly stopping and starting. And, it takes a really long time for it too start up. Whats wrong with it?
Do you have current backups?
Those symptoms could indicate a failing Hard drive. If it dies, all your documents go with it unless you have Backups.
I have had very good luck with physical and battery problem diagnosis at the Genius Bar. Those guys put their hands (and their ears) to these machines, all day every day, and they know immediately what all those sounds mean.

I have a question Im hoping someone here can answer. I have a HP dv5 and I have my lap top connected to my tv with a HDMI cable.
But when Im running my lap top with Windows 7, I dont get the sound out from my tv, only from the lap top??? but when I run Windows Vista, I get the sound out from the tv. Anyone knows why, and how to fix this?
I have tried to install the drivers for the sound but no luck.

My IPad cannot download live Tv from skygo. I have no problem with my lap top so I assume the broad band is okay. Can anybody suggest why the live streaming will not work on my iPad .
Are you using the Sky Go app to try and watch it ? If so are you logged in with your Sky account ?
If you are using the app then you could try closing the app completely and see if it works when you re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Sky Go 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Sky Go app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
When I plug my iPhone or iPad directly into my lap top, using the USB cord, the devices don't even register with iTunes as being present. I am completely stumped. I believe this bagan with my last iTunes update. The last time I syced any device was Oct 23, 2013. During that time I bought two new apple products and the same problem, when I plug them in they do not even show up as being available to sync. Any ideas why this is happening?

Do you have an installed email program such as Microsoft Outlook? If your email is through an online login, such as Gmail, etc, then one will have to create an email association with a program such as Microsoft Outlook on the PC for this Scan to Email system to function.

Iv'e had my mac for 2 weeks safari was working great until I changed to a wire less super hub. Safari will not let me open & log into a web site I go on a lot. My ipad & windows lap top will on the same network. Apple have said it's the DNS setting my cable provider say it's not it's a problem with my mac. Iv'e phoned apple lots of times same with cable provider Iv'e tried a few things it has not helped solve the problem. I'm now advised to return my mac to the shop for a check. Has anyone else had this problem I would appreciate any help because I'm going round in circles.
Adding a couple of DNS numbers sometimes helps:
System Preferences>Network, select your wifi or ethernet network on the left and click on the 'advanced' button and then the DNS tab. On the left side of the window make a note of any DNS numbers listed so that you can re-instate them if necessary and then click on the '+" button bottom left of the window. Type 8.8.8.8 and click the + again and type 8.8.4.4 save the settings and try the website again.
BTW, I have the same problem with Firefox not letting me input my password in secure sites. I did find a workround in the network settings in Firefpx prefs, but it didn't stick so I reverted to using Chrome as alternative browser. No problems with that so long as you don't mind Google looking over your shoulder -
The sound other than through head phone has stopped from the speakers of lap top

I have acrobat pro on my lap top and recently installed acrobat pro on my Mac Mini, but the text recognition function is not working, does anyone have any advice on how to remedy this problem?
On my laptop when I open up a pdf file and do a search for a particular
text phrase it prompts me to run a character analysis. Whereas on my mac
mini, when I try to engage the same process it just says it couldn't find
the phrase and doesn't even try and run a character analysis. I tried
clicking on the tool bar and the recognize text tab but nothing there seems
to do anything.
In trying to figure out the issue on my own I noticed one thing. I run a
small law firm in St. Louis and I scan in all my files to which are
subsequently emailed to my outlook account where I will save them as pdf's
to their respective folders. On my laptop when I open up an email from my
scanner I see the image of a acrobat document next to the attachment
paperclip symbol. However, when I open up the same email on my mac mini I
notice instead of an acrobat file image it shows a Preview file image (the
program used to open up pdf's before I installed acrobat).

I see you are having problems keeping your HP Deskjet 2540 and notebook connected to your wireless network simultaneously. Are you using the Auto Wireless Connect feature, I think you may be connecting your computer to the printers network that it is broadcasting, causing the connection to fail. Please take a look at the troubleshooting documents below:

Bh 106 sound problem with laptop
i connected the headset to my lap top and its detected. in the sound options , i made the head set as default, the bars are playing, but no sounds are coming out from the head set

If you have an access to another smartphone, test it to determine if the problem still persist. If it does, I advise sending the device back to the store of purchase or to an accredited Nokia Care Center near your area.
