Laptop can not read printer

I have a MacBook Pro
Mac os x 10.6.8
I bought HP Officejet Pro 8610
If i connect with cable, then it say's ( the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer.)
When i connect wireless, it is printing, but low quality in black only, no color, if my wife connect with her pc, she prints in color.
Is my operating system to old?????

Your operating system is not too old no, the Officejet 8610 can be fully installed on your Mac running 10.6. I would suggest trying out the steps below, and please try them in order.
Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
Repair disk permissions
Restart the Mac
Download and install the Full Feature driver here: HP Officejet Pro 8610 e-All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Drivers
You should now be able to print in color.

set the wake-on lan on the main computer
The laptop's too far away from the router to be connected by ethernet. It's all wifi.
No separate server app on the laptop, it's all samba
The files are on a windows laptop and a hard drive hooked up to the windows laptop. The windows share server is pants, so I'd need some sort of third party server running. Maybe you weren't suggesting to use Samba to connect to the windows share though?
I'm glad that you've all understood my ramblings and taken and interest, thanks The way I see it, I can't be the only netbook user these days looking for this kind of convenience, and I certainly won't be once chrome and moblin hit the market.

Help required please. "Itunes can not read the contents of my iphone"

Greetings all,
I know this question has been asked before and I apologize for asking again but all the solutions provided don't seam to work for me, can anyone help me please.
I am receving the message: "Itunes can not read the contents of the iPhone. Go to the summary tab In iPhone Preferences and click restore torestore this Iphone to factory settings".
Now a little about my iphone, Itunes and my laptop and what steps i havealready tried.
I have an iPhone 4 running software 5.0
My itunes version is 10.5.0.142
I know these are not the most up to date versions but I have had this issue for almost 3 months now and updating the software back then was the first step I tried. I don’t believe updating to the latest will fix this issue as updating the last two times did nothing.
Every so often after starting Itunes, The program will stop responding and will require the three finger death kill (CTRL, ALT, DELETE) to open task manager to end the task of Itunes. Once it shuts down, I restart the iTunes and it runs smoothly, apart from not reading my iPhone.
When I run a diagnostic in itunes under the help tab, I get these fail messages:
Network Connectivity test: Secure link to Itunes store fail
Device connectivity test: Under support services: Itunes helper is not running. And under ports: No iPod, iPhone or iPad found.
Device Sync test: No iPod touch, iPhone or iPad found.

I have restored back to factory settings twice.
I have shut down and restarted both my iPhone and laptop.
I am running Windows 7 32-bit on my laptop.
I am using ZoneAlarm as my fire wall, and have been disabling it when syncing my iPhone to prevent other error messages.
The iPhone is plugged into a genuine Iphone USB cable and is plugged into a USB port not a USB hub on my laptop, I have tried plugging it into all 4 USB ports and this issue still persist. The Cable is less then 5 months old, is not frayed or damaged in any way, have also borrowed 2 other cables from friends and still the same issue.
The iPhone does not even come up in windows explorer as a digital camera.
The iPhone is NOT jailbroken
I do not live close to a so called genius bar, however I have made the journey to them on 3 separate occasions last year when I first received my iPhone for a different issue, the so called genius's could not fix the problem so they just gave me a new (refurbished) iPhone, which did not extend my warranty. I will not be taking the iPhone back to them as I believe they can not resolve many issues, this is why I am reaching out to the power of the people in the wider apple community.
I have read in other forums about ifunbox and other programs for jail broken iPhones to isolate folders “iTunesDB” and "iTunesCDB" and delete them. If this is the issue is there a way to access these files through windows explorer as my iphone is not jailbroken.
I hope I have provided enough information and someone can help me fix this issue. If I have left anything out, please let me know. I thank everyone in advance for your patience and support.

I have done a complete uninstall and re install of iTunes and all related apple programs from my laptop through control panel, add remove programs and also by going through program files and deleting all tracers of any left over folders remove programs may have missed.

The scan's to PDF file can not be printed

Im have an Mac running on Mac Os X 10.7.3
I bought a HP officejet PRO 8500 A910.
The printer is installed and works fine if a want to print a document or a picture. The scanner also works.
BUT there is a problem.
When I scan a document in my HP scanner to a PDF file. This PDF file can not be printed. When I send it to other people's computer, the can also read it on screen, but not print.
The printer gives an error : Unable to covert PostScript file. (see screenshot).
Can anyone help me? I want to scan usable PDF documents that can be printed by anyone.

The solution given was to convert to image. Then it is no longer a PDF! The printer worked fine until I upgraded to 10.9. Did the change in drivers eliminate the PPD? I can print PDF's from Preview just fine. Will HP be updating the driver to include the proper PPD? As an aid to troubleshooting, what files should be present in the Library for correct PDF printing? This is happening on both my 8500 and 8610.

Impossible. PDF files don't stream, so they cannot be opened until they've been saved.
You can truly prevent printing by using DRM, or ask nicely by using a permissions password (though that's ignored by non-Adobe software).

Small size file can not read correctly on other linux

Hi, I am running archlinux 0.8 on my laptop, and there is another linux runs kernel version 2.6.20 with root filesystem of debian v3.1.
I wrote a shell script which reads a small, 49 bytes, only 1 line conf file on my archlinux, it works fine.
But if I copy script & conf files to debian, the script can not read conf file with:
while read f;do; echo $f; done < conf
but `cat`,`more` commands can read it. I have to open conf file with vi on debian and do nothing but :wq rewrite it to make script working.
Both arch & debian use ext3 file system. Could anyone tell me why? thanks.

I think your command is wrong: it works with zsh and doesn`t work in bash. Maybe you should remove extra ';'?

can you go into your Device Manager for me? Right-click "My Computer", select "Manage" and then click "Device Manager".
is there an error message citing "code 41" showing up next to the CD in Device Manager?
(we've got techniques for dealing with the Packard-Bell-code-41-optical-drive-disappearances, but i just want to make sure that's what we're dealing with in your case.)

First, try the automated fixit from Microsoft on the relevant link below.
Windows 7
Vista
Check if the drive is now working.
If it still doesn't work, click the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'. In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
sfc /scannow ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
Next, click the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager. Next click to open DVD/CD-ROM Drives. Right click the drive and select uninstall. Do not delete drivers if asked. When the device has uninstalled click on the 'Scan for Hardware Changes' icon ( usually just below Help on the toolbar ). Let windows reinstall the drive and see if it now works.

Can not save print profiles in print templates

I can not save print profiles on color managemet tab with the print templates.
And for my previously saved templates, I saved related profiles with the templates, but now when I click on the templates, they show empty space in place of related profiles on the color management tab.
How can I solve this problem?

It happened today, when I play with the profiles. I don't know how could I do that ... but paper profiles can not be saved with print templates and with print collections. That section even does not have any selection, it is empty. I'm sure that it will create some confusion for me later when printing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some Spanish letter can not be printed rightly

 A problem came to me when I try to print a Spanish invoice form developed by our ABAPer.The main language of this invoice is English but the footer contains some Spanish letter.But only these Spanish letters can not be printed or previewed rightly.
 When met this problem I use SPAD(spool administrator) to change the printer driver from CNSAPWIN to DL5100P.Fortunately the letter are previewed very well.But when I try to print it,I failed.The spool log is as below:

Impossible to stop people saving copies; PDF files don't stream.
You can prevent printing using PDF encryption but only a DRM-based solution is crack-proof, and even then users can always take screenshots.

AirPrint - iPhone 5 can not find printer after router change

AirPrint - iPhone 5 can not find printer after router change; however router is exact replacement of previous one (Zyxel, issued by Imagine wireless). AirPrint was working previously. Printer is on same network. Wireless printing working fine. Have tried rebooting prtiner, phone and router. Any suggestions?
