Laptop docking station

Hi
Please advise if I can get a laptop docking station for my HP Pavilion G6-1386?

Hi,
The only choice which you have is HP USB Media Port Replicator or HP USB Media Docking Station (the same replicator + stand + speakers system).

  • WinXP Pro laptop & docking station do not correctly see PCI1411

I have a Dell Precision laptop and a Dell PD01X docking station. I am trying to install a PCI-1411 card but it shows up as a PCI Multimedia Video card. I did install the card before installing the software but have since taken the card out, uninstalled the card under Windows system and tried reinstalling it. Windows doesn't seem to find the IMAQ driver(s) and I can't point it to the installation disk that came with the board. I also have LV7 and vision tools installed.

I would try uninstalling the NI-IMAQ driver, reinstall NI-IMAQ, and then reinstall the card. Remove NI-IMAQ using Add or Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel. If you were not already using the most current version of the driver, version 2.6.1, I also recommend that you upgrade to this driver. You can download NI-IMAQ 2.6.1 from the NI website at: Drivers & Updates: NI-IMAQ 2.6.1 This is a full installation, so it would be used in place of the older driver you may have.
I hope this helps! If the problem persists, please contact National Instruments technical support directly.

  • How do I use my Dell laptop with a docking station and my 27" iMac

i heard from a friend that he is usig his imac as a "monitor" for his laptop.  so i bought a DVID dual link cable and a Mini Display Port to DVI adaptor and plugged everything in.  Nothing on my iMac yet.  what do i need to do next?  Do i need to "tell" my iMac to view my laptop docking station?

  • How do I hook a Mac Mini to an existing PC Laptop Dock in order to use existing 23" monitor, mouse, and keyboard?

My parents currently have a Dell Inspiron desktop (which thanks to Windows has crashed and requred re-installation of the OS and then ordering an OEM hard drive and starting from scratch). Anyway, my dad has started bringing home a work laptop, and I got him a laptop docking station so he could take advantage of the 23" monitor, keyboard, and wireless mouse that he prefers.
My brother and I are going to buy my parents at Mac Mini for Christmas.  It's probably simple (or with my luck, impossible) but I need to know what I need to know in order to also hook up the Mac Mini to the monitor/keyboard/mouse (we may buy a keyboard and mouse).  Is it just a matter of cables/splitters?
I'd appreciate any assistance.  I've been trying to get my parents switched over to Mac for almost 10 years now.  Dad is stubborn and will definitely want to use the 23" monitor he bought so I have to find a way to make that work.  The keyboard and mouse aren't a huge deal - instead of being on the drawer that rolls out from under the desk, the Mac stuff can be on top of the desk.  I just need to know if it's possible to avoid that and do everything through the docking station (even if I have to get a USB hub).  I'm pretty sure the monitor has a DVI input, and the current work laptop is using the analog input.
    Thanks all.

The Mac mini is not going to be able to use the Dell docking station itself, due to
the Mac mini is not a laptop
it does not have a docking connector
However you might be able to achieve what you want with a KVM (Keyboard, Video, and Mouse) switchbox which would sit between the dock and Mac mini and the Screen/Keyboard/Mouse.
For this to be as easy as possible, both computers need to be using the same types of connections, so that means USB for the keyboard and mouse, and ideally DVI for the monitor. I am using a dock with a Dell laptop and the dock does have a DVI connection as well as a VGA connection so yours might as well.
You would then need a KVM switchbox with USB and DVI connections. This one would be a suitable example http://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-2-Port-Switch-Audio-TK-214i/dp/B004L62KN4/ref=sr_ 1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1322228493&sr=1-4 you don't have to use the audio connections.
In theory you could use a VGA adaptor on the Mac mini to make both use VGA but widespread reports suggest VGA on the latest Mac mini is very unrealiable.

  • HP FQ834UT USB Universal Docking Station software won't work on my HP laptop with Windows 7 64 bit

I am using Windows 7 and when i went to load software for my docking station, HP FQ834UT USB Universal Docking Station, it said it couldn't use the driver.   Is there a software upgrade to allow this driver to work on a HP laptop with Windows 7 64 bit operating system?

I have the same issue - I have it installed on my Windows 7 64-bit machine and although it is running, it doesn't work.  I am sitting here in Starbucks, which has a Verizon Wifi hotspot (actually Boingo - which is what Verizon Wi-Fi uses) and the "Connect" box does not appear.  I had the same issue at an airport recently.  It's one of the worse pieces of software I have had the misfortune to use.  When it fails to connect, it causes the Wifi connection to drop (incompatibility with Lenovo Access Connections, maybe).  I don't think that Verizon understands the meaning of "QA" and "Software Testing".

  • Problem with laptop and docking station

    Hello.
We have two laptops with two docking station. Both laptops w/ docking have the same problem:
When the computer is turned off, and its still connected to the docking station, the fan in the computer start to run really fast. The fan goes on for a good while. This is making alot of noise, which can be annoying for the person using the office. When the computer is on, the fan runs at normal speed. If you disconnect the computer from the docking station, the fan stops immediately. Any ideas?

It is possible the notebook is not completing the shutdown in full when docked.
Make sure the BIOS is the most recent version.
Here is the most recent one to try should you need it.
Other than that, I am afraid I do not have much else for this. I did some research, but I didn't really find anything that was exactly like this. I found scenarios where the fan would run at full speed when docked, but this happened whether the notebook was booted or not. You can try your luck in the business support forums to see if they may have something that is a little more helpful.

  • Will T420 Laptop Work With T61 Docking Station?

I'm getting ready to replace about 50 T61 laptops with T420. Will my existing docking stations work, or do I need to buy all new docks as well?
    Thanks

As said the T420 uses the latest generation of docking station (series 3 docking station), the T43 docking is one generation older than the T61 docking station.

  • Problem with USB port on X6 docking station and X60 laptop

    Hello all,
One of my users is having a problem that when she undocks the X60 laptop from the X6 docking station and then re-docks it later, the devices connected to the USB ports on the X6 docking station are no longer recognized.  Even after repeated re-boots I can't get the USB ports to work.  The USB ports on the laptop still work, but not on the docking station.  Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?
    T

BIOS 2.19 is for X61 series not X60(s).
    Here're my solutions.
Solution 1. Unplug all USB devices from docking station. Reset BIOS to defaults, save settings, reboot, plug all devices back. All of them should work now.
Solution 2. Power off your system. Un-dock your laptop. Unplug all USB devices from docking. Re-dock your laptop back again. Power on your system. Plug all devices back again after system booting. All of devices should work now.
I tested both on my X60s working even if it seems rediculous.
Lenovo promised to send me a new docking; however, I don't think it will help unless new BIOS is released to solve this issue.
Note: the kep point is you have to wait to plug all devices back to docking after system boots.
    Good luck.

  • Labview for laptop with dock station.

I use labview on desk top computer and it works fine. But, after I use it on a laptop with dock station, it does not work. I use the exact setting and configuration and I have no idea why does not work? Any suggestion. Thanks.

There isn't any kind of information you've provided for anyone to be able to help you.
"It does not work" could mean millions of things.  How is it not working?
What "exact setting and configuration" are you talking about?
Does it work when the laptop is not on the docking station?

Try a hard reset with the notebook.
    To Perform A Hard Reset
Shut down the computer by going to the Start menu and selecting shut down. (If you have no display, hold the power button down for  5 seconds); (if the computer doesn't power on, move to the next step)
Disconnect the AC Adapter from the notebook.
Remove the battery from the bottom of the notebook.  There will be a switch/button to eject the battery.
Wait at least 1 minute with all power sources disconnected.
Re-insert the battery and reconnect the AC Adapter and then attempt to power on the notebook.

  • Laptops in docking station with lid closed go to sleep during in-place migration from XP to Windows 7

We have an issue where existing XP laptops are targeted with SCCM 2012 OSD TS for upgrade to Windows 7.  The laptops are in a docking station, with the lid closed.  The laptops are going to sleep when the OSD is booted in WinPE, just before the
Setup Windows and Configmgr step.  I have copied powercfg.exe from a Windows 8.1 machine (both AMD64 and x86 versions) to the MDT Tool package...." and then a step to run:
    %DeployRoot%\Scripts\%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%\PowerCfg.exe -setacvalueindex 381b4222-f694-41f0-9685-ff5bb260df2e 4f971e89-eebd-4455-a8de-9e59040e7347 5ca83367-6e45-459f-a27b-476b1d01c936 0
However, the laptops are still sleeping during the Setup Windows and Configmgr step.   Any insight to correcting this will be extremely helpful.

    Hi
We came across this issue, seems odd that SCCM doesn't suspend the power management in the OS during the TS - (But then again it also seems odd that Windows 7 will go to sleep if you close the lid of a laptop half way through a shutdown, so that when you
lift the lid it wakes only to complete the shutdown, did MS not spot that, or choose to ignore it!?).
These commands should be run soon after the Setup Windows and ConfigMgr step and will disable the device and screen from sleep/hibernating:
Prevent sleep during OSD (Battery power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -standby-timeout-dc 0
Prevent sleep during OSD (AC power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -standby-timeout-ac 0
Prevent monitor off during OSD (Battery power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -monitor-timeout-dc 0
Prevent monitor off during OSD (AC power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -monitor-timeout-ac 0
Prevent hibernate during OSD (Battery power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -hibernate-timeout-dc 0
Prevent hibernate during OSD (AC power)
    cmd.exe /c powercfg -x -hibernate-timeout-ac 0
At the end of the TS, you can revert these changes by running the following command to reset the power scheme:
    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
    Hope this helps
Thank you.  However, we did put similar steps in our Task Sequence right after the "Setup Windows and..." step, but the issue we are having is that the "Sleep" occurs during the "Setup Windows and...." so it never reaches
anything after that step until the lid is opened.

  • Laptop HP DV6-2088dx - what kind of dock station will work with it?

what kind of dock station will work with it?

    Hi John,
    Please find answer below
1 -- What are the specs of a laptop that can handle CS 6?
It depends on the application you will use and install. Video apps like Premiere pro, After effects have higher requirement as compare to InDesign, Illustrator etc. Please review the tech specs for each application. This link will help with the details :System requirements | Adobe Creative Suite 6
2 -- Can I sign up for Creative Cloud services for, say, a couple months and then suspend the service when I'm back to using my desktop? What's the pricing for that?
Yes, you can, You can find the pricing details creative.adobe.com/plans
3 -- Can I use Creative Cloud when I don't have access to Internet because internet service is sporadic or non-existent in northwoods?
No, you can't. You need internet atleast once to activate the software.
4 -- Can I easily transfer projects from CS 6 laptop to CS 5.5 on desktop?
It depends on file format. File format like JPEG, PSD, TIFF etc are universal and shall work perfectly fine between CS6 and CS5.5 however format like INDD will be a concern as InDesign file saved in newer version could not be opened in older version directly.
5 --  Alternatively, can I simply install my existing CS 5.5 in a new laptop?
    Yes, you can.
    Hope this helps

  • I have an HP6710 laptop. I bought a docking station on ebay it does not have a power adapter.

Can I use the power adapter that came with my laptop to power the docking station  without hurting the docking station?

Give us the model of the docking station, please. Usually they use the same adapter as the laptop but not always. Also there will be a label on the dock indicating power requirements. Compare to the AC adapter you have. If the plug fits and the volts and amps are the same it likely will work.

  • Windows 7 x64 Domain laptop in docking station loses internet daily

I have a domain user that uses his laptop in a docking station here in the office. He claims that every afternoon (I'm told around 3pm), the laptop completely loses internet and he's forced to restart.
I've found nothing related to the NIC in the logs. I've tried changing him over to a Static IP, we've replaced the network cable, the dock, and the NIC drivers. I also had a Dell technician verify onsite that there's no apparent hardware failure with the
NIC itself (Onboard Diagnostic test and cable checks).
I've checked ipconfig /all and everything shows the proper Gateway, DNS, WINS and address pool.
I'm at a loss considering the only thing I have left to try is reimaging the laptop.
    Any other thoughts?

    Hi,
Did the user schedule a task to disconnect the internet connection at a certain time or some other applications, device, runing around that time take over the bandwidth, block the connection.
or check the power management of the NIC, open Device Manager, right click the adapter\properties\power management, then uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
