Laptop hibernated / low battery, iTunes crashed and can see my songs
I was listening to iTunes on the laptop while on an airplane. The PC went into hibernation due to a low battery. When I next started iTunes, the software starts up and seems to be functioning OK, but it cannot find the library of songs, or any of my playlists. The songs/videos are however still there. My library is currently under my Documents, My Music, iTunes, iTunes Music.
I know how to reconnect files one at a time but wonder if anyone can suggest how I can reconnect iTunes with my music.
If they were purchased from Apple you should be able to copy them from the iPod via File > Transfer Purchases. If they are songs that you copied form CDs or purchased from other sites then are they not already on your computer and / or on a backup that you can copy onto your computer ? If not then you will need to find if there are any third-party programs that can copy them off the iPod and onto your computer (you can't copy them off via iTunes).

I am not a computer guru, the reason that I love my MacBook Pro is that I don't have to worry about it, now I am worrying, because I can't get into my itunes at all. I would trash the new version of itunes and find an older version (I did try reinstalling 10.5.1) as long as I was reassured that I wouldn't lose all my music.

I see the update waiting right now for my MBP, and is why I'm here to see what's up.
On the software update panel, it's all about cloud service.
Looks like 10.5 is the end of the road for me.
I can see having gaming on cloud, but with the work I put into my tunes, no way.
We'll see how people react as time goes, and the next crisis. -
I have a brand new mini mac and a new apple TV. Both have been updated and can see my movies in itunes. I can use Netflix and stream music. I have tried to use my old laptop and it streams video fine. But my new computer only see a spinning circle.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing. -
I can't download any rented movie. When I start downloading Windows iTunes crashes and Windows close this program. What should I do?

You may want to try resetting Winsock as a temporary fix.
1. To do so, please do the following in an administrator user:
Windows Vista and Windows 7: Right click All Programs and choose Accessories > Command Prompt. Choose to open as an administrator.
Windows XP: Click Start > Run and type in cmd.
2. Enter the following command:
netsh winsock reset
3. Restart the computer and test the issue.
Note: If the issue returns, third-party software may be reinserting the LSP. -
Very Frustrated and Wasted Money Please Help Me...... Itunes crashed and all of my libraries would not download, the songs that did came back 3/4 times which caused me to put everything on my new Hard Drive,I am have a bunch of files and libraries from Itunes with music that will not upload back to Itunes and I have a bunch on my IPOD that is irreplacable....On top of all these this I do not remember my encryption code but never remember locking it either. Please tell me what to do to save my music or reset the code and do a new one and how do I save this music,I see it on my library when I plug it up.Also what file do I look for for all the purchased music I had? Also my Remote acts up which never happened to me as well...
What do you mean by encryption code?
- Do yu mean the for some reason when you want to restore from backup iTunes asks for the password?
- Do you mean that it has a screen-lock passcode and you do not remember the passscode?
Please provide more clear information. I do not really understand your poblem. I can't tell whee the music is, or what will not "upload". -
ITunes crashed and will no longer recognize my iPod Touch!
My new computer crashed last night while my iPod Touch was in the process of Syncing with my iTunes account. When it came back up it had to try and recover my iTunes Library. After it did I had to go into my stuff and find all my music and re-add it to my iTunes Library. That wasn't too much of a problem, I've got back all of my songs, but my apps are all gone and when I try to Sync my iPod Touch with my iTunes Library it gives me a message saying that my iPod Touch is Synced with another iTunes Library and can only be Synced with one at a time so I need to erase my iPod's memory and reload everything from my computer. The problem is that since it doesn't have any of my apps on there it would completely erase all of my apps and any data I have on them. So what I want to find out is how I can get it to recognize my iPod Touch again, or if there is a way I can save all of my app data from my iPod Touch and then reset my iPod Touch so that it will recognize it again and then just Sync it again to get all my app data back that would be great too. I just don't want to lose anything. I have seen several similar issues but nothing that really seemed to be the right fix for my particular issue so any help will be greatly apprediated!

- You can also redownload them by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- When they are in your iTunes library, connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup. -

That is more than quicktime and iTunes. Follow all the instruction in the link for removing and reinstalling the Apple software. -
I recently installed itunes update and can no longer connect to network nor internet
I recently (sept 2013) installed itunes update and can no longer connect to a network nor internet wired /wireless. I know it is not the gateway as other devices work. Please help. I am not very knowledgable so exact instructions will be most helpful.
Try connecting your computer/laptop directly to the base station with an ethernet cable to one of the external ports and install your network settings. If it finds it there, it will find it after you've reloaded your network info to the base via the Apple Utility. Hopefully when you disconnect afterward, all will be fine. Be sure not to select "closed" network although Macs will login with no prolem, PC's have trouble doing so even with the network data stored in the internet settings.

I purchased an album from the itunes store on my Ipad2 thinking i could access it from my windows laptop where I sync my ipod. I turned on Home Sharing and can see my laptop libraries from my ipad but not vice versa. Is there any way to fix this so I can transfer the album to the itunes on my laptop?
Yes I tried that. I finally turned off all home sharing settings, shut down my desktop and found them in my account settings in the store on the cloud. So at that point I just had it download everything. But I suspect that with the ipad somehow being on, the store was saying I had already received them? Regardless, my trip today whilst running errands, I was rocking out to vintage Police music! Thank you so much for responding.

ITunes crashed and I lost my downloaded games
I upgraded to iTunes 7 on my iMac and downloaded a game.
I never got it to my ipod before the application crashed and now it no longer appears in my iTunes library.
What can I do?I have same problem. Bought a game, downloaded it to my mac - it showed up for about two seconds in Itunes and then Itunes crashed and the game disappeared.
I cannot sync my Itunes properly anymore. Songs and photos sync ok, but then it locks up!
Anyone know a fix?

My hard drive crashed and I moved my I Tunes library back from Carbonite but there are songs / albums that are missing! Lots of Exclamation points!
Anyway, I can see the songs and albums on my purchased list in the ITunes store page. They all say they are "downloaded" but ITunes on my computer can't find the songs.
I looked on my hard drive and the are not on the hard drive. How can I Re-Download to put these purchased songs back on my new hard drive? The songs are on my I Phone but I don't want to sync since it will strip them out of my phone too.

After updating to osx 10.8.2 and itunes 10.7, iTunes crashes consistently after playing one song
After updating to osx 10.8.2 and itunes 10.7, iTunes crashes consistently after playing one song. Song progress indicator actually stops working after 30 seconds or so and iTunes can no longer be closed. However, the song finishes playing, but the next one will not start.
I tried on different computers, with different iTunes libraries, both on internal and external media. It ALWAYS happens.
Any suggestions?I downgrade to itunes 10.6.3 and the error still appears.

And I deleted this file:
/private/var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/iTunesCDB
That fix the problem.

I purchased a movie on my iPhone through iTunes. I can see it on my pc and I shared all my media. I am unable to watch it or download it to my iPad. I am using the same email account for all devices for home sharing. I am not sure what the issue is with this and I have check and rechecked many settings many times. How can I view a movie I purchased on iTunes on one device, on all my other devices?
If it's a rental film (not a purchased film) that you downloaded on your phone then you can't move it to your computer's iTunes - from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1657:
