I Don't know if I can turn it of or do I just leave it and take it to service?
    I'd appreciate some advice!

Same thing happened here ~ tech guy at a local authorized Apple repair store said it had something to do with improper backup from which the restore would be made. Still have a phone that asks to be connected to Itunes but won't do anything else . . . frustrated.

    find USB stick

  • I think my laptop is dead !!!!

    Hi there;
I have a problem with my laptop, I have an HP PAvilion dv6500, purchased 2008, last night my wife was doing something online using my laptop and suddenly power went off though power cable was attached, I thought there might be something wrong with the cable so I went today and bought another cable, I still have the same problem.
Problem: Laptop power led is on, yet charging led is off and laptop is off, no response at all as If it's dead loooooool
I took the battery off, pressed the power button for one minute, attached the power cable and tried to switch laptop on but in vain, it doesn't come on.
    Does anybody have any advise?.
Thanks and have a great day
Never let your wife touch your properties

I won't touch that last comment. If it makes you feel any better the dv6000 series is a problem child for HP. They fail in large numbers and I think yours likely has a bad motherboard. It is a coincidence your wife was using it when it died and yours has lasted longer than most. I would say the first thing to consider is a new laptop. If that is not in the cards yours can likely be repaired for around $80. Look here:

  • My old Laptop is dead. Trying

Trying to Sycn with my new laptop. Sign into my existing account but my dead PC is not there.

    Hi wagonball,
It will only show active synced devices unfortunately. However if you attach the account to the new computer, do you see data from the last sync from the dead PC? One way to check is to look at the timestamp of the last visited in the list of bookmarks when you show all bookmarks.

  • How do I transfer my iPhone 5 from one laptop to another. Old laptop is dead, I only have its hard drive.

    Hi,
My laptop recently bit the bullet and I have now bought a new Samsung laptop running Windows 7. I have the hard drive from the old laptop in a caddy so I can access anything from it via USB.
How can I setup my iPhone 5 to run with the new laptop without losing any contacts, music, pictures etc?
    Thanks,
    Jamie

Copy everything (contacts, calendars, files, pics, docs, music, etc) from the old hard drive to the new computer.

  • My Laptop is dead :(

My laptop crapped out on me. I was using it and it just turned off. Initially, I thought it was the battery, but it was at 40% when it shut off. I have tried turning it back on, but nothing is happening. I plugged it in, with the battery in, and the LED light on the side is orange, and when I take the battery out the light turns white. I have tried to turn on my laptop in both situations, and it doesn't turn on, but instead the LED light turns off when I hit the power button. I have a HP Pavilion Dm4-2070us.
P.S. Help! I go back to school tomorrow and I need help quick!!

You might try the easy approach and get yourself over to a big-box electronics store to buy a replacement power adapter.
Your notebook specs say this is what came with the notebook so this should be sufficient to run / charge it.  The good news is that this size is not all that unusual and you may find one at the first place  you go.
You might even find a battery, if you want to buy that, too.

Now, it that the problem?  I don't know, but it is a place to start if you cannot get any response.
If, on the other hand, the FANS at least start when you turn on the power, then this is not the issue.

    Welcome to the discussions,
    You'll need to backup manually.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing. Transfer your purchases by selecting "transfer purchases".
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

  • HT4527 my old laptop is dead how do I sync to new computer without losing everything

I am trying to sync my ipod classic to a new computer my old one is dead, but it wants to erase everything how do I do this without losing all my music?

I think you were saying your computer was very slow when I first clicked on this thread... If so start at the beginning, otherwise skip to the last paragraph.
These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
    Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
    Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
If you have an iOS device that syncs with contact & calendar data on your computer you should migrate this information too. If that isn't possible create a dummy entry of each type in your new profile and iTunes should offer to merge the existing data from the device into the computer, otherwise the danger is that it will wipe the information from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data. If you don't have any Apple devices then see HT2519 - Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

Hi. I reported this to HP internally yesterday. You are not flying under the radar, so please be patient.
Have you tried a hard reset?
    1) Remove the battery and unplug the DC power adapter.
    2) Press and hold the power button for more than fifteen seconds.
    3) Plug in the DC power adapter (leave the battery out for now)
    4) Press the power button

  • New laptop, old=dead,

Hello! A two-part question here really...
First of all, I have an iPhone4 which is synced to computer X
    - Computer X died
    - I now use Computer Y (No i don't have the original iTunes library)
    - I have lots of apps, music, games and the usual SMS etc on iPhone4
    Question 1:
    - How do I transfer EVERYTHING from iPhone4 to Computer Y WITHOUT losing ANYTHING on iPhone4?
    - I need to update the software on iPhone4 but iTunes threatens me with the usual "I'll delete your soul and everything you value on your phone", old classic!
    - How can i update iPhone4 without losing my game saves, music and everything else?
    Question 2:
    - iPhone4's warranty recently expired, so to celebrate this milestone in its life the lock button naturally has broken. This, along with other things means I may buy the new iPhone 4S.
    - If i do, how can i move EVERYTHING from iPhone4 to Computer Y, then sync this potential new iPhone 4S to Computer Y WITHOUT losing a single thing, including my game progresses/saves, all apps' settings, music, SMS messages yada yada yada from iPhone4?
Many thanks in advance for your help, while I'm waiting I'll sit serenely and reminisce fondly the days when i could DRAG-and-DROP from my nokia Nserieses
    Ben

Whilst I was tempted to wait a little longer to see who else got themselves in such high dudgeon over my post, I must say that the analogies you made are... bordering on the absurd!
Firstly regarding your "burnt down house" scenario, my "house" is in fact perfectly intact, it's just that all of my furniture is "locked" inside! I want to upgrade my iphone's software without erasing it. So in your terms; "move my furniture outside, paint the walls, re-carpet the floors, then bring all of my furniture back in". I wouldn't want to pay a lorry to drive around the block with my furniture while I paint it, would I?
Secondly, your "car insurance" scenario is also incorrect, since you wrongly assume that I want what's on the computer (the 'crashed' car or the 'burnt down house'), whereas I actually want the data from the iphone, which is there, intact on the phone, I just can't get it!
To summarise: I bought a house, fully furnished, but the seller didn't give me the keys!
None of this is intended as a personal attack on anyone, as I'm annoyed with the iPhone, not any of the posters here!

  • Laptop with Itunes went dead...how do I get all my music from Nano to IPOD?

I had my iPod nano hooked up to a Dell laptop with iTunes. Of course the laptop went dead and now I don't know how to get the music from the nano to my iPad?
Anyone have any ideas or instructions to assist?

    Hi,
You music is not in your iCloud account, it is in iTunes in the Cloud. Whether you use iCloud personally or not, it will not have an effect on the iTunes in the Cloud functionality. If you are using iTunes, then all of your purchases through iTunes will use iTunes in the Cloud as a backup for your purchases.
    Cheers,
