Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! It is a great place to find answers and information!
For you to have the best experience in the HP forum I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide. Learn How to Post and More i understand that your notebook finds and displays many network but not yours but another laptop does locate it. One of the easiest steps to try is to reset the router by removing power for approximately 20 seconds and then reconnecting the power. Give the router time to reset and come back up . Does you network now show? If your network is set to 5.0 GHz try changing the setting to mixed mode or 2.4 GHz as that is the best selection for HP notebooks. Here is a link to HP PCs - Troubleshooting Wireless Network and Internet (Windows 8). To say thanks for replying, please click the thumbs up icon below. If this overcame your difficulty please tell people by selecting solution provided to allow it to found with greater ease. Best of Luck!

Since upgrading to ios6, all the family's apple devices (new ipad, 2 iphone4 & itouch) are having difficulty reconnecting to the home hub wifi network. I.e, every time the lock screen comes on, the wifi connection is lost when you reopen the device and we have to reconnect through settings. This appears to be an ios6 software issue.
Is there a solution to this wifi connection issue or do we wait for a software fix?
I'd hate to think Apple is going down the Microsoft path, of passing untested software onto the user. What ever happened to Regression Testing, to ensure the existing functionality remains intact?
I bought into the Apple dream, because it was intuitive, reliable & enjoyable to use, all the things that Microsoft windows isn't.
Other issues we are experiencing are, Games are stuttering and the kids really miss the old YouTube app.
Please Mr Browett, sort these issues out.iOS 6 Wifi Problems/Fixes

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

YouTube is not now part of iOS 6.
However, you can go to the App Store and do a search using YouTube. You can download several YouTube apps: YouTube (for the iPhone, a IPad app is in work), several users like Jasmine and YouPlayer.

Hi. I have a new (5months old) Macbook Air that used to work fine. Until now...
I went for a 2 months trip and left my macbook at home, so it was not is use for the past 2 months. When I turned it on a couple of days ago, the date and time was messed up (automatic setting showed me 01.01.2012.) and the bigger issue, it can not find my wifi network. It detects all the neighbouring networks but mine. I have tried setting up a new network, troubleshooting, etc, but nothing has worked. My iPhone and my other laptop (hp) can find the wifi without any problem. The network settings have not changed either...
Any idea how to solve this?
Many thanks!Hi,
thanks for your reply.
The problem is, I can't even open the network preference pane, as it is not responding.
Earlier I wanted to log into iCloud - it started loading and now it is completely 'frozen'. I can not close it, I can not quit system preferences and I also can not restart my macbook (it won't let me until I quit system preferences).
I am sure the solution is very easy, but I have no idea what to do
Many thanks for your help in advance! -
My Ipad 1, for no apparent reason, no longer connects to the Internet. Our home wireless connection is working for all other devices.Any clues?
You can also try to reset your network settings on the iPad. Go to Setings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings.
Good Luck! -
Every few weeks I lose connectivity to my Netgear N router. Its becoming more frequent. All other devices in my home work fine (ipad, PC's, iphone, etc..). In order to work for a few more weeks, I reinstall the Netgear software (using Ethernet cable to router) . This is a hassle. I use WPA-2. Every once in a while I can reconnect without reinstalling the software if I go NEAR the router. But this connection doesn't last too long (a few hours).

but its ok to connect at office wifi network
What should i do ? ) help me pleaseHey Alex,
If you are having an issue with being unable to connect to your home Wi-Fi network from your iPhone, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

I have had this problem since yesterday. My macbook air is not detecting the home wifi network it used to be connected to. A manual addition of the network is also not working. I also tried using network utility which gives the details of all networks available and their details, but the home network does not feature there.
However, my iPhone is able to connect to the home wifi without a glitch. I am right now using a mobile data card to access internet, but need to get back to the home network.
I found various users posting the same problem online, but am yet to find a conclusive problem. Here are two threads on apple support which are similar to my case.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2445976?threadID=2445976
https://discussions.apple.com/message/10695921?messageID=10695921&start=1#106959 21?messageID=10695921&start=1
Please help!It was not working for me either and I spent a day looking at things other people did when they had similar problems. Never could find a conclusive response and what has been suggested here was always almost the only thing mentioned. I wish you luck and hopefully someone can actually point out the one true thing that is doing this!
This is the exact sequence of events: I switched off the main supply to the house when I was going out, and when I came back this problem occurred. I was searching desperately online and just when I had given up, I decided to switch mains off and then back on. It picked up the wifi, and has been working since. This was a shocker and mostly a coincidence. Wont hurt to try. -
Unable to connect to home wi-fi network after iPhone restores an old backup
For some reason when I recently connected my iPhone to iTunes, it restored an old backup from a few days earlier. Since then, I can no longer connect to wi-fi networks I previously connected to regularly, like my home and office networks. I have tried resetting network settings, rebooting the phone, forgetting the networks, etc. Nothing seems to work. I have no idea what else to do.
If anyone else is having this specific problem, please help me out.The restore process don't restore the Wireless networks that you used to use... this is a security measure.

Unable to connect to my usual WiFi network
For the past month or so, I have been unable to get my iPod 3rd generation to connect to my home network. I have a fairly strong signal, but every time I try to connect, i get a message saying 'unable to join the network 'NETGEAR'.
I don't know what's wrong. Everything else in the house which uses the same WiFi network (Xbox, Laptops) are all connecting to the WiFi network, but my iPod however is not. The only explination i can think of is that something happened when my laptop's memory was erased due to some technical fault. I have re-installed iTunes, and synced my iPod but that hasnt solved anything. Any suggestions? And please keep the suggestions simple I've read other discussions expressing the same problems but i just don't understand what people are saying! (appart from 'try turning it off and on')
NB: Turning the iPod and the router off and on did not solve the problem. You've rebooted the router which is good. Now reset the network settings on your touch by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
When your touch restarts, log in to your network like it was the first time - tap Settings > WiFi > Other and re-enter your network name, security setting, and your network password.
You should be back in business. -
My Playbook recently stopped seeing my home wifi. All my other devices, ie. laptop, desktop, macbook, ipad, iphone, bold, ps3.... have no problem seeing and using my homes wifi and for months neither has my playbook. about a week ago it simply stopped showing up. Tried restarting playbook, erasing all saved networks, entering network information manually, etc... nothing. I am using a D-Link router, never had a problem with it before. One other thing, on two occasions my wifi network did show up for a moment on the playbook, one time i tried to connect to it, it started going through the process and then failed. The second time i refreshed the list and it was gone. Thoughts anyone?
the one thing i did not try... this fixed the problem. hadnt crossed my mind, since getting this router i havent had to reboot it and i guess i got spoiled. thank you for your time.

Unable to connect to a particular WIFI network
I am unable to connect to a particular wifi connect via my laptop which has windows 7 installed. The WIFI is password protected and I know the password, I am able to connect to that network using my mobile phone and other friends laptop.
I have also checked the router configuration to check my Wireless MAC is not blacklisted. The same laptop is able to connect to other WIFI networks without any problem. The problem is not with wifi drivers because I am able to connect to WIFI networks...
Is there any other configuration in the router that is preventing my laptop WIFI from getting connected ?
http://www.geocities.com/preetam_ghosh87/mysite.htmHi,
Did you get any error message when you can’t connect to the Wifi? Can you find any related information in the Event View?
You can make the computer connect to others Wifi and check if it works.
Regards.

VPN Client can't reach router or hosts, but can reach other connected sites.
We have a VPN client configuration on a 2901 router. The client passes authentication and connects fine. When connected, cannot reach the 2901 or any devices directly behind it, BUT can reach routers and hosts that are connected to the same 2901 through site to site connections.
Few notes:
I have added some lines excluding NAT in a few different ways, but does not resolve.
I have switched the RAP rool from 10.96.20.x to 172.21.20.x and can then connect to the local host. Appears to be a routing issue to the 10.x network, but I can't seem to find the solution.

Removing index.html from home page / remove .html tags from all other pages
Hello All,
I was wondering if there is a way to remove the index.html from my main page, so that www.mypage.com/index.html is simply www.mypage.com/. This also applies to all the other pages in the site, but only for the .html extension: www.mypage.com/contact.html becomes www.mypage.com/contact. Almost all sites I know do this, but I can't figure out the technique beyond working some crazy voodoo with Apache.
Thanks in advance for your help!if 'index.html' is in your HOST server's default filename list, then you can omit its name from any link, e.g.,
<a href="/">Home</a>
That link will cause the server to load the default file found in the root folder of the site.
This is actually the preferred way to link to your home page. -
Unable to register to Airport Express wifi network
I have a Time capsule, and I'm using a AirPort Express to extend the network. The setup is pretty straightforward, and it has been working.
However quite often my devices (2 iPhones 5s; iPad 2; and event a MacBook) often lose the connection to the wifi when using the Airport Express (too far from the Airport Extreme Time Capsule signal). Opening the wifi menu, the devices detect the network, try to join... But seem not to actually be able to register. No error message appears do, just the circling wheel keeps runing.
All the devices firmware and iOS are updated. Can't figure out what's wrong. Could it be the fact that the Airport Expresss and the Airport Extreme were originally bought in different countries?
Thanks in advance for the support.Hi Brett,
Thanks for the reply. But the issue is not with the iOS devices. I experience the same problem with the MacBook.
The issue seems to be with the Airport Express that somehow loses the connection to the Time Capsule. Usually if I restart the issue tends to resolve it self. But I endup doing this on a regular basis...
Any ideas?

Need to reinstall iCal and iSync
