Laptop screen spilled with cleaner

My laptop screen has been mistakenly filled with water. Please help me the easiest way out of this problem.

You can try to get it off by getting a bowl and putting some rice in it and then put your phone in then putting in more rice. something like that happened to my brother and he put his phone in rice. rice absorbs water so you should try it

  • Nice 'N Clean Electronic Wipes on my Laptop screen?

    Hello All,
This is my first post on the hp forums, so forgive me if I posted this in the wrong location or violated any other protocol.
Yesterday, I bought some Nice 'N Clean Electronic Wipes to clean my brand new g6-2235us laptop. I went ahead and used the wipes on my laptop screen, but it wasn't until later that actually read the instructions on the back of the product box (we're all guilty of doing that at some time). It says that the Nice 'N Clean wipes are okay for use on laptops, but it also says that they're NOT for use on Plasma TV's. I know, I know, my laptop isn't a tv, but I was wondering if my g6 has a plasma display, and if I can use these wipes to clean not only the exterior and keys of my laptop, but the screen. Oh, and I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to electronics; this is my first laptop, so please forgive me.
Thanks for taking the time to anser this question!
    Sterling

No it is not a plasma screen and they are OK to use...more expense than needed. I clean laptop screens with a microfiber cloth or a t-shirt that has been washed and dried a million times so there is zero lint. Use a very dilute solution of dishwashing liquid like Dawn and don't get the cloth too wet. You can clean it using this with the power off. If that does not remove greasy stuff, you can use isopropyl alcohol, followed by the detergent solution. Dry with the part of the cloth you did not get wet. Whatever you do, do not use any ammonia based solution like Windex or you will permanently cloud up the screen. For between the keys use a Q-tip dipped in alcohol and let it dry real good before you turn the machine on.

  • Cleaning a laptop screen

There are some spots on my laptop screen like there is dirt or something stuck there. What can I use to clean the screen with? I know I can't use plan old multipurpuse cleaner on a flat screen and I know you shouldn't put a lot of pressureon it either. So what product or service would be best? Thanks!

Just use a LCD screen cleaner, but NEVER EVER use something like Windex...EVER!

i have just used air display with macbook pro. i have disconnected now from apple tv. but my laptop screen is still very small like its connected to the tv. this means all the tabs and writing is very small. like the display down the bottom where al the applications are, is n the middle of the page and not spread down the bottom. this is seriously annoying! all the writing is every small and the tabs are small and its hard to read.  the air display link has disappeared from my computer. but the laptop screen is still very small. i want to know how do i get rid of this and return my macbook screen to its normal size. thank you

    Hello chrispyw,
If your content is still being displayed incorrectly, I would check the resolution setting for the built in display with this article:
OS X Yosemite: Adjust your display’s resolution
If it keeps happening whenever you use AirPlay then I would use this section of the following article to reset the display system:
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolution
Start by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
    Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
    Restart your computer.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Best way to clean laptop screen??

What is the best way to clean a laptop screen?

If you are only talking about fingerprints and dust, a microfiber cloth works great.  Gets everything off without scratching.
If there are things on the screen that don't come off by wiping, do not use chemical or spray products as they can get into places they don't belong.  A slightly damp cloth, very very slightly damp not wet, and wipe only on the screen surface, not along the edges where moisture can get inside.
But if you use any moisture you have to be really careful as electronics and liquids do not play well together.

  • USB PORT REPLICATOR WITH DIGITAL VIDEO JUMPING BETWEEN LAPTOP SCREEN AND LCD

    Hi,
I have an E330 connected to the above port replicator and I am having an issue where I could be working away on a document and all of a sudden the screen on my LCD freezes and goes blank, then my laptop screen boots up for about 3 seconds then it switches back to the LCD.
I have noticed that it only seems to happen when I am either using the scroll wheel on the mouse or clicking on the mouse button.
Any suggested fixes would be welcome
    Graeme

This sounds like the USB dock is dropping off the USB bus and then reconnecting. This could be a problem with the USB 3.0 hub in the dock.
Lenovo have made a firmware update available for the USB 3.0 hub in this dock, that could solve the issue:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_GB/guides-and-manuals/detail.page?DocID=UM014961
It is also work making sure your USB 3.0 host controller drivers are up to date if you are using Windows 7. Links to the latest USB 3.0 HC drivers can be found here:
    http://kb.displaylink.com/315
I *think* it is an Intel USB 3.0 chipset on this laptop.

  • Help with laptop screen?

I am wondering if all I need to order is a new laptop screen or if I will need anything else replaced. I'm not sure what all comes when you order a new laptop screen like if its just the outer glass or full screen assembly. I will try to give as much detail as I can. I was also wondering if anyone knows of a good site for screens that has a good reputation and pricing?
I have a Lenovo B570 Model: 1068-AFU Laptop. My son was using it and he closed the screen with a pencil (or something) laying on the keyboard. He then decided to lay his book(s) on top of it. When he opened it the next day and turned it on the screen was all messed up. The glass itself about 2" from the bottom of the screen up against the left side is a small crack that spider webs out about 1-2 inches. Around the crack the screen is black with a purple line surrounding it. Most of the upper left of the screen is white with multicolored vertical lines, the rest of the screen you can see the login screen but has horizontal lines and the whole screen is flickering like crazy. I can still move the cursor around but can only see it in the top right ⅓ of the screen where the only change is the flickering.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi DreadSpawn,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Based on your description, You just have to replace the LCD Screen,
This link should get you going, Screen from resellers don't come together with the covers. So I would suggest to examine the LCD covers on your computer see if it took damage as well, Normally If the Plastics were damage the LCD Itself will move while still attached to the covers.
You can Check this Hardware Maintenance Manual about Checking and replacing parts on your B570.
Just be extracareful in replacing parts, If you can have a Local Tech replace it then that's OK.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers!

  • Unable to switch back to laptop screen with xrandr from VGA

    HI,
I'm using i3 window manager and have an external display plugged in sometimes. I use the following short script to turn off the laptop display and turn on the vga monitor
    xrandr --output VGA1 --auto
    xrandr --output LVDS1 --off
    xrandr --output VGA1 --auto
    feh --bg-fill /home/james/wallpaper.jpg
    synergyc 192.168.0.4
However I cant get back to the laptop screen turning the VGA off doing it the other way round.
    xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto
    sleep 2
    xrandr --output VGA1 --off
    sleep 2
    xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto
    sleep 2
    feh --bg-fill /home/james/wallpaper.jpg
    pkill synergyc
I've tried using --mode 1366x768 but that doesnt work. The only thing I can do is close the laptop lid and then resume from suspend and the screen comes back on.
Anyone know what I can do to get my laptop screen back on?
    Thanks.

    Try the whole thing together
    xrandr --output LVDS1 --auto --output VGA1 --auto --right-of/left-of/above/below LVDS1.
If you have it plugged in, it runs both, if you unplug it only brings the one back on.

  • My 15" laptop screen is dark, but computer works fine with plug in large screen

I am not sure if I hit a key combo or something, but laptop screen is off.   Laptop is on and works fine and I can see everything on large plugged in 27" screen, nothing on laptop. It is as if I accidentally hit a toggle switch combo to turn off laptop screen while leaving on a plugged-in screen, like you can on a PC when going between laptop and, for example, a projector.  any ideas? I recently switched to mac after 20 years on a PC.  New MacBook pro.

Hi, nope, tried that again just to be sure.  Thanks though.  The screen is completely black.  Worked fine yesterday and last night.

  • BLACK SCREEN startup with 3 beeps, FREEZES when unplugged, Splash screen freeze, HEAT-UP TO BOOT

BLACK SCREEN startup with 3 beeps, FREEZES when power unplugged, IF IT BOOTS splash screen freezes, OVERHEATING REQUIRED TO BOOT - 0x7B, Event 41 kernel-powe
Issue: One day I unplug the power, the screen freezes and I get frozen music sound. I shut down, start up, I get 3 beeps (1 short 2 long), which indicates a Video failure according to the Thinkpad Laptop beep code list.
How I solve the issue day-to-day: I turn the heat up - I disconnect the battery and hard drive and plug in the power then turn it on. I will wait until the underneath is searing hot with a blanket blocking the fan's flow of air, I mean way hot because any cooler and it won't start. Plug stuff back in, Hard drive first, Battery second, turn off with power button hold, unplug power, replug power.
I turn it on, no beeps, it goes past the first Lenovo screen, then gives me a prompt because it "didn't shut down properly" and continue regular startup. What happens next is the Windows logo appears, and just as the animated windows logo starts to move (you see 2 small colored dots on the screen), it freezes. I see this every time, I know naturally that it means that the laptop is still too hot to go past that point, so I shut it down and try again. After about 5 - 10 tries it will go past the splash screen and into the login area, then it's all fine.
Sometimes when I unplug the power from the back by accident it will freeze. By accident I mean that the connector wiggles it's self out easily. This unplug freezing thing started happening about 1 week before the 3 beep black screen problem started rolling, so I'm putting 2 together.
    Errors:
I got a Blue Screen of Death the first time I started it up with the overheating ritual, but I never got it since. It was 0X7B. I ended up changing a setting in BIOS from AHCI to Compatibility Mode, and I passed everything without the BSOD again. I have always had it on AHCI.
I got another Blue Screen of Death about a week ago, but came as it was on already and I had been using it, and said something about disabling Cache or Shadowing in BIOS. I never got it since.
    BIOS:
Also, the time was set to 1988 or something in the BIOS.
    Event Viewer events found:
    1. Kernel-Power, Summary page.
There are critical events for a few things like Kernel-Power, Event ID 41, Task Category (63). There are 19 of them, each day 1 or 2 of them but mostly 1, so this maybe corresponds to my daily ritual.
"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly."
    2. Kernel-Processor-Power - Event ID 37, task category (7)
"The speed of processor 1 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report."
    3. LMS - HCMI - Event ID 2, Task Category: none
"LMS Service cannot connect to HECI driver".
I came across a very sluggish performing control panel for Nvidia before and after this problem, and I tried installing a newer version, which I had to jump through a few hoops to do, like uninstalling first, not just updating. At first it said that the driver wasnt made for the system, or that it wasnt compatible or something, which was wrong. I made it work somehow, but it was still sluggish after install. I rolled it back to an earlier driver, and now it works fine oddly. No sluggish performance / slight freeze window thing going on. No problem at all.
MSCONFIG.exe, Boot Advanced Options: I have tried twice to change this 1 setting, check box "Number of processors" and change to 2 processors, because I do have 2 processors. I have been able to change this in the past, but it does not save the setting now, and I believe this option was selected before I started having problems, and settings did not disappear then.
What could this be. The small round BIOS battery? The video card like everyone presumes? (I.E. the entire motherboard replacement), Software? The wiggly power input area? (Not enough power getting in?), Firmware of some sort? The BIOS software being wrong?

You wont get good Nvidia ones on Ebay/forumes anywhere.
I'd beg to differ on both accounts.
*61 series nVidia-based ThinkPads from late January through July of 2008 are a 50/50 shot, since the old chips were mixed with the new ones. Any machine built in August and later can be deemed "safe".
As for the forums (I don't do feebay) there are people who sell genuine, properly-tested planars. However, these do not come at bargain basement prices, and with a good reason if I may add.
    Good luck.

  • Laptop screen went staticky

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 purchased last October. Windows 7. Have not installed any hardware, have not dropped the laptop or spilled anything on it. Last night I had it on battery power and it went into sleep mode while I was eating. When I pressed the power button to bring it out of sleep mode it brought up the login screen. After I logged in the screen went staticky with rolling pixelated sections of blue and black. Hit the power button, laptop turned off and back on, showed the Dell logo, brought up the login screen, then took a few seconds for the icons to show up on the desktop. I don't have a screensaver. Called Dell, rep had me run diagnostics, everything passed. He said it wasn't a known issue. Worked fine the rest of the night and seems fine today. Anyone else encounter this?

It sounds like the video driver may have failed while the system was placed on sleep.  Just as long as things are working fine after restarting the system you should be fine.  This shouldn't happen very often but I do suggest keeping an eye open on the system and if the problem continues I suggest reinstalling the video driver.
If you aren't familiar with installing drivers, go to support.dell.com and type in the service tag of your notebook and click ok.  Look for the video section and choose the driver for the video card for your system. Download it and run it.  Check and see if you continue having the problem.
Please let me know if the problem does continue, and if reinstalling the video driver didn't help, or if you need help finding out what driver that you need.

I've recently upgraded from pse4 to pse7 and have just found the 'advanced settings' button on the downloader. However, the window this opens is too big for my laptop screen and I can't access the 'get photos' button. I can't get the window to move like a windows window. Can anyone help?

Interesting, the Advanced Dialog window is 812 pixels high, larger than the 768 typical of a laptop (and the minimum required by Adobe for PSE).   And PSE doesn’t let you make the window any smaller.
Here’s how to move the window around if the title bar isn’t visible: Click anywhere within the window. Then hold down Alt and Space at the same time.  Release Alt-Space and type “m”. Now you can use the up/down/left/right arrow keys to move the window around.  Left-click with the mouse when you have the window where you want it.
You can try this on other top-level windows first to see how it works.
