I recently bought a new Toshiba laptop 2 moths ago and I was running an update on my laptop, but then it shut off and it powers on and shows a blue error screen and continuously restarts. Help?

  • Laptop shut off during hard drive reset

My laptop shut off during a hard drive reset and now it says to do a system reset but I don't know what to do

Sure sounds like a hardware problem to me. To verify that you would need to attempt to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media.
If you failed to create it, you can obtain it from Toshiba. Scroll down to Get Recovery Media here.
For instructions, see the section Restoring from recovery media, which begins on p. 57 of the User's Guide.

  • Downloaded new Apps update but laptop shuts off before update finishes

I recently installed OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 on to my Macbook Pro that I bought back in 2007. The update
went fine, and Yosemite was working great. However, last night it told me there
was an update to the Apps program so I clicked install. It installed everything
normally and was going through what I think is the final boot up (Grey screen
with Apple icon and dark grey loading bar beneath icon). Problem is that it the
bar gets about 20 to 25 percent full and then my Macbook just shuts off.  I turn it back on and the same screen comes
up with the same bar filling to the same amount before it just shuts off again.  What do I do here? I need some help on this
one. I’ve never had any problems with my Mac before. Thanks in advance!

    Good morning Bainje,
If you are having an issue with your MacBook Pro shutting down during the startup process, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem." - Apple Support
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Laptop Shuts Off During When Turned On

I have a HP Pavilion g7 1261nr that has recently run into some issues. Whenever I press the power button for it to start, it goes through its normal process, then it all of a sudden shuts off on its own. Sometimes it works with only the battery in or just the power cord in and without the battery. Other times its able to stay on with both the battery and the power cord in.

    Hey PcMatic,
Welcome to the the HP Forums!
With the computer not staying powered on randomly, depending on the configuration of power. I would suggest following the steps in the document 'The Computer Restarts Unexpectedly (Windows 7)'. Please select the option for Windows restarts for no apparent reason, and follow through the steps.
Now I know that the document does not state your specific issue, but the steps are still important to do.
Please let me know the outcome of the troubleshooting steps.

    Help ASAP needed

Try restoring the iPod via iTunes. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If your iPod is with in the one-year warrranty, not abused and defective Apple will replace it.

  • Battery shows over half charge then shuts off during use.

iPhone 5 w ios7 shows over half charge in battery but shuts off during use listening to pod cast for example.  When placed on the charger it takes a couple of minutes then shows over half charged again. What's wrong?

    Hi
If you have tried restoring and all the possible fixes you are still well within your warranty period book a genius appointment and they will offer you a repair or replacement.
    Hope this helps

  • My 4s shuts off during use of map directions

My 4s shuts off during use of map directions

    Shut down the app...
From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
Tap and hold any icon until they wiggle
Press the red to delete the Maps app from this list.
Press the home button twice when done.
    Restart Maps
Also, try a reset... press the home and sleep/lock buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • Nano with Nike + shuts off during run

In addition to the "activity stopped" issue which is driving me crazy, now my nano (2nd gen) just shuts off during the middle of a run. Not a battery issue. When I press a button, it comes back on.
All of a sudden this is happening and is driving me nuts. Is my receiver defective? It's not a sweat issue, as I wear a belt clip.
As for loosening, I always wondered by the Nike receiver doesn't have two little clips that secure the receiver to the nano, like the syncing cables.

    Hello
I am having the same problem too! About halfway through my 4 mile run, a voice over comes on and tells me that my activity has stopped. This continues for the rest of the run about every 5 - 7 minutes. Because of this, my 4 mile run only logs as a VERY SLOW 2 mile run.
What can I do to fix this problem? The plugin is not loose and my IPOD is not giving me a reading that the battery in my shoe sensor is dying. I can't call for technical support because it is past the 90 day purchase, but I haven't even had the Nike+Ipod for an entire year yet! PLEASE HELP!
Unlike the original posting, my IPOD does not shut off - so I know it is not an IPOD issue but instead a Nike+IPOD issue....

  • Laptop shut down during windows 10 update and now won't startup

Hi, My pc shut down during the Windows 10 installation 2 days ago. Since then I tried to start up the pc, without success.
I tried to press F11 during booting but the laptop just stays with a black screen saying "F11... System recovery", until I shut my computer down.If I press no key during booting, the screen remains black (with a bit of a background light) and stays like this for hours until I shut it down. I also tried to use the trick with holding the power button for 30 seconds when the laptop is turned off (I guess you call it a hard reset?), but that didn't work either.  What should I do to get back to the original Windows 8.1? I would like to use my pc again and if possible, to not loose any of my old documents.

Hi , Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community! I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP ENVY 17-j000 Notebook and issues with it not responding with a Windows 10 update. Try performing a hard reset. When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices. It should continue where it left off. Please let me know how this goes. Thanks.

  • N80 Shut off during 5.0 update. Won't turn On at a...

please can anyone help me on this?
i did have the memory backed up on my computer before i did it, so if i need to take it in for a wipe/reinstall thats fine,
but does anyone have any info that can help me?
I was in Nokia PC Suite updating my phones software to 5.0 next thing i know the computer says "USB device disconnected" my phone shuts off, and it wont turn back on.
ive tried taking the battery out and replacing it.
    Any help is much appreciated.

Remove SIM and miniSD card first. Try to boot.
The try hooking it up to the PC again. And see if you might be able to redo the update process.
You can also try a hard reset. As described in a different tread. (Or read below).
Othervise, I afraid you will have to take it to a Service Center.
    -- Quote from djassa1 (Re: N80 won't start up!)--
    Just reset to factory default.
You will need your 2 hands to do that: While the phone is off press and hold the [Green call Button] + [3 digit button] + [* button] and power on and hold the powwer button. Do that until the phone asks you for the local city reference.
    -- End Quote --
    Best of luck!
