Laptop ThinkPad W701 turns off while playing games...

I got this laptop for 2 years and it has never done this before. Two weeks ago it started turning off when I played games like Skyrim or Europa Universalis 4.
The laptop is hot at the place where the graphic card is located but the fan seems to be working...and PC doctor has no error.
I disassembled the laptop and cleaned it from dust but it did not work...
I tried different drivers (for quadro fx 2800m) and now I have installed the 326.80 beta, but it's still the same...
I don't know what to do, I'm so angry that i'm considering to buy a Dell Alienware... can someone help me, please?

I'll reinstall Win7 in a week to be sure it isn't an other problem.
I uninstalled one device in the device manager, it was an ATI device, I installed a recommended benchmark so that was it's device I guess.
As you said, I took a look into the Event Viewer, by the way thanks for that I didn't know that there is some kind of program :) , and there is one event that matches to the time, the display turns black. Maybe my translation won't be the best one :S

Graphics card springs to mind;
also, in your game settings, in either options or video settings (or similar). Are the settings correct for your card. I know on a low end PC, "full hardware acceleration" can cause crashing.
I'd still think, it's more a graphics related problem. If you have a big flat screen mintor (e.g 24,27 or even 30") then that, in it's own right needs a good card. Add the game to it and you may have problems. I do take it you have compared the specs with what's required on the box (of the game) and "about this mac/"more info"). All the best.

The original iPad has a slow processor and only 256 MB of memory so it often runs into low-memory failures.
Double click the home button and dismiss all of the recents - I do that weekly.
Then reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider - I also do that weekly.
Both seem to help to reduce the low-memory faults that occur.

IPad turns off while playing certain games.

During certain newer games, my iPad will freeze and either keep the screen and have rectangles, or it will go black and restart. While this is a relatively small issue, I would just like to know if there is an easy solution; will I just not be able to play certain games? Or is there a fix?

Try the basic:
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.
(C) Reset all settings
Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings
(D) Restore iPad
1. Connect your device to your iTune (computer).
2. Select your iPad when it appears in iTunes.
3. Select the Summary tab.
4. Click the Restore button.
Note: Data will be lost

Laptop doesn't boot or shuts off while playing games

Sometimes when I boot my laptop it passes through the welcome screen then goes to black and stay there. This has been happening ever since I spilled tea on the keyaboard and had it fixed by an outside repair company. Sometimes I am able to get in and start the computer but when I try to play games (Pay Day 2) the computer again goes to black. I thought it was due to an overheating problem the repairmen might have caused but I went ahead and changed the thermal paste on the cpu but to no avail.

Sound goes off while playing games.

Nokia,
Some time I face a problem that when i play game like prince of persia, bounce and others, the game sound become turn off after some time playing though the apps tone is on. Any games sound does not on untill the phone get restart. But is does not happend other nokia java phone. ( 2700, c2 checked)
Please solve.

It's possible that the games are not compatible for your phone. We recommend that you download games, apps, themes, etc. from the Nokia Store. This is to ensure its compatibility.

IPhone screen no longer turns off while playing podcasts

Up until a few days ago my iPhone screen would turn off (go black) while I was playing back a podcast. When I wanted to stop or pause the podcast I would hit the Home button twice to bring up the controls. I must have inadvertantly changed a setting, because now while playing a podcast, the screen remains on the podcast screen and doesn't "go black". I listen to podcasts on speaker during my commute and I'm concerning having the screen on for so long will run down the battery. Is there a setting I can check into?

Hard reset-hold home and power button until it power cycles. If that doesn't fix it backup and restore. If that doesn't fix it restore as new. If that doesn't fix it take it in to Apple.

If you ahven't already done so then try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Satellite A500-17X restarts while playing games

I have had my toshiba satellite a500-17x for about two years, I bought it to play Starcraft and world of warcraft. Ever since i got it i have had a problem with it. While playing games it would suddenly restart the laptop. I contacted the customer support and had it taken back to see if they could find out what was wrong with it. They said it was fine and it must be the games software that was causing the problem. (I do not believe that this is the problem since i reinstalled all software and the problem persisted)
I felt that they were trying to bluff me with this answer. Either they did not do an indebt inspection to try to resolve the problem or I believed that the model itself was flawed.
Anyway I wanted to say that the laptop can sometimes play fine for hours but on other days it will crash multiple times.
I just want to point out something; my graphics card driver is up to date. My air vents are completely clear. The temperature is stable. I have put the power management to maximum. I play with a battery in and the laptop is plugged in. This has also happened from a cold start.
During the restart i am given no advanced warning. The laptop just turns off (no beeps, no blue screen) and restarts.
I have never posted here before and i would really appreciate your help.
I know this has been a problem in the past with this model as i have searched forums for solutions but I cant find one.
If you know of a solution I would be very grateful.

Gaming issues are always very difficult themes because nobody can say exactly if its caused by game <-> GPU driver compatibility problems or notebook (hardware) issues.
You said you had this issue playing two games but does it happens playing other games or running other applications (no games)???
In your case I recommend checking some gaming forums about StarCraft and WoW.
Maybe you will find some more details about that.
At the other hand the unit supports an NVIDIA GeForce GT 230M graphic chip.
Some people said that nVIdia driver 8.16.11.8973 would run stable

I got this laptop for christmas, and have recently purchased games through steam, it is then when I came to play Call of Duty 4 that the laptop just randomly restarted itself. At first I thought that it must of overheated, but then it was not hot at all, and had only just been switched on. I then thought it could of been the game conflicting with the computer, so I tried other games such as Counterstrike: Source, no luck it still randomly restarted. Ive played for hours without it turning off then other times just minutes. The laptop is ok when im just surfing the internet etc. but restarts when playing games. I have read other forums expressing the same problem, but have yet to find a solution. I have updated the display drivers from the Toshiba website, from nVidia but still not working.

I've been looking over this forum for a few months with the same problem, looking for developments that might help me solve mine, so I feel it right that I should post here telling you how mine's fixed.
I sent mine off from where I bought it (PC World) for repair, twice. The first time all they did was clean out the fan, but sending it back with the same problem, they changed the motherboard, also known as the mainboard, and it seems to have fixed the problem. I have evidence why this is so from wikipedia. Some of the major functions of a motherboard are:
- slots for expansion cards (these interface to the system via the buses supported by the chipset)
- power connectors, which receive electrical power from the computer power supply and distribute it to the CPU, chipset, main memory, and expansion cards.
I always assumed with it switching off on the AC power supply WHILE PLAYING GAMES, there must be some sort of problem with the link between the power and the "expansion cards" e.g graphics and video cards, and it seems that this "link" is indeed the motherboard, so in manufacturing, it sure seems like the model of the motherboard used by Toshiba may have had a minor fault for the model that causes this shut down, unfortunately.
So far there has been no problem using the laptop while playing games, and it seems to be all fine so far!

Keep iPhone on Wall Charger for 10 minutes, it may turn ON itself. If still OFF, keep on Wall Charger and Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to start, this can sometimes take about 20 seconds time of holding both buttons while on charger.

Slow respond and lag while playing game, some time will also auto drop out to main menu page, the worse case will hang up. I know I am not addressing Apple here, I would like to do so, but I don't know how to reach them. I just want to share my experiance and would like to know did this is because of my 3G iPhone problem, or all 3G iPhone will having the same phenomena like me? I had try to reset the phone, but it is not work. But I found a way to increasing the speed, it is switch to Airplane Mode. But if switch iPhone to Airplane Mode then only able to speeding up, then the iPhone will became an Ipod Touch and not anymore an iPhone again.
