Laptop touchpad scroll button doesn't work in Firefox but works in other progs. I have tried changing mousewheel.withnokey settings as per Firefox help.

I have an Acer Laptop Aspire 1690
I've installed the latest driver from the Acer website.
I can use the scroll button ok in outlook express, internet explorer, adobe pdf reader, etc but not in firefox.
I've searched the help in here and tried changing the mousewheel.withnokey settings. But still not working.
Any ideas?

Try this :
For all who have problem with the standard ALPS touchpad driver in firefox 4; here is a quick registry fix: 1) Open registry with regedit 2) Search for following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Alps\Apoint 3) Set ScrMethod to 1 4) Reboot
After that scrolling in FF4 should be possible.
For me it works with a Acer Aspire

Kindly create a new layer, via the Layers panel:
Then, right click on the navigation bar, and choose Move to Layer > Layer 2
Ensure that Layer 2 is on top of the other layers.

Recent history for Premiere Elements points to the program having problems when more than 1 video card/graphics card is
being used by the computer on which Premiere Elements is running. This observation may seem contra indicated by the fact
that you say that the program did work well about 2 years ago in the same setup. But other factors may have set in with regard
to drivers, drivers versions, and driver conflicts. But this factor, does need to be ruled in or out.
Can you disable one or the other card to determine the impact of this on your problem?
But, of prime concern with regard to video card/graphics card is the use of a NVIDIA GeForce card with Premiere Elements 10.
Even if your NVIDIA GeForce were the only card, Premiere Elements 10 will not work properly unless the NVIDIA GeForce driver
version is rolled back to about May 2013. This may be one of the major factors here.
a. Device Manager/Display Adapters and find out Driver Version and Driver Date
b. Read the background information for the Premiere Elements 10/NVIDIA GeForce issue

Hard Drive: The Hard Drive is on my camera (Sony Handycam)
Just needed some info on what is going on with your particular system.
Knowing the exact camera model will also assist us.
If this camera is standard AVCHD you should be able to connect with USB to Mac with FCE open and use Log and Transfer without all the fiddling around converting etc.
What FCE does during ingest is convert files to AIC. (Apple Intermediate Codec)
FCE cannot read the individual files in the BDMV folder, that's why all the converting is required when you use that method.
BTW: regards formatting drives/cards/memory on cameras; it is wise to use the actual device to format rather than a computer. This is a prime cause of read/write goof ups with solid state media. This applies to still or video cameras.
Keeping the COMPLETE card/memory structure in tact is vital for successful transfers.

It sounds like you have modified the password settings for your Gmail account after changing the password. Thats where I would have started too. Next I would restart the device and test it one more time, and then remove and add the account again in Settings:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap the affected email account.
Tap Delete Account.
Add your account again.

Go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you are running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion), then select Power from the left hand column of the System Profiler. Thanks for the quick read and response. Do you feel the issue might lie with the fact that it is a Mac Mini? And possibly just not powerful enough to run Leopard Server? I have to say in our trials with MacPro it was like night and day as to how they performed. And if you could elaborate on this "Many VPNs don't play well with NAT so your VPN server should have a direct connection to the public network (preferably firewalled, of course, but not NATted)." Most every SoHo and for that matter uses simple NAT translation for security even our multi thousand dollar Cisco PIX and ASA's are basic NAT devices to start with. How would you put the VPN on public net while keeping the attack surface low for the rest of the services like file, web, mail and print?
Don't get me wrong I want this to work more than you can imagine. We are so tired of supporting MSFT technologies that cost thousands a year in antivirus, antispyware, antispam and other malware protection for the enterprise. We know that Leopard has great potential but for an integrator, getting this system up and functional is not an easy task. And the worst part of it is every time we have called for support the tech always lets out a sigh when they hear we have run standard setup because they are not allowed to walk us thru the server console to make repairs. And have been told by 3 techs so far that this is a new product and the support avenues are not there for standard since it just supposed to work out of the box. But when it doesn't then ohh well. Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :(

If the HD is setup for Mac and plugged into the AE.. with file sharing on, it should work.
Try manually mounting the disk.
In finder use go, connect to server, and type in AFP://AEName or AFP://AEIPaddress.. where you replace what I wrote with the actual name or actual IP.
Later versions of Mac OS.. like ML for some strange reason have their preferences set by default to not show network drives.. change finder preference to see everything.

Videos don't work on IE8 or Firefox, have tried all I can think of. Please help?

A bit of background.
My computer runs Windoxs XP 2002, with Service Pack 3. About two months ago I noticed that youtube did not work on IE7, so I recently downloaded IE8...needless to say videos still don't work (on youtube and bbc amongst others). I have Adobe Flash Player 10.1.102.64 (the latest I think).
By don't work I mean that when I go to bbc the vidoes either appear as a still, which one would normally click on to start, or they appear blank / white. When they appear as a still and I click on the video, the place where the video was goes blank.
Youtube loads really strangely (I think kind of like HTML version) and no vidoes work.
I have checked that all add-ons are enabled, and my Java is up to date. I have also fiddled aroud with the "enable hardware acceleration" but to no avail.
On top of that I have uninstalled and re-installed both flash player and IE8 (the second time I downloaded IE8 I clicked on the 32 bit version). When installing flash player I used the desktop version and disconnected from the internet just to make sure.
Having looked on some forums I tried Firefox but again no luck. I am getting really frustrated as I have no idea what to do.
In terms of do I operate 32 bit or 64 bit, I don't know (if someone could tell me how to find out then I will).
Please can someone help?

Adding the read permissions to the registry key as noted above fixes the problem when the 'read' permissions for "USERS' is missing.
In systems I have checked the key has the USERS permission ACE before 10.1.102.64 is installed and missing after the installation.
On Windows Server 2003 the key inherits 'Authenticated Users' instead of 'Users' which should be true for all systems post-XP. The inheritance seems to be removed and keys are not copied in correctly.
I believe, and this should be checked with Microsoft, that the inheritance needs to be restored and the root of CLASSES/MIME. This is what I have chosen to do as this is the way it is on all working systems.
The error may be caused by one of the trojans that has attempted to exploit Adobe Flash as this would cause Power Users(this account is missing too) to install a new control. They could then be redirected to another rogue site where malware could be installed. All of my systems run as standard users and I only run as admin to do installs and repairs so this exploit would not easily work.
This is a good warning to not run as a Power User. As Administrator the exploit won't trigger as the administrator ACE has been copied to the key.
I believe this may be a good example of an 'Elevation of Privileges' type of exploit. This is the Find-A-Hole-And-Make-It-Bigger Exploit (FAHAMIBE) Say that three times fast.
Kidding aside. I hope this is useful to somebody but may not be the cause of all errors like this one so check very carefully.
I don't think this is caused by the newest Adobe installer or release.

To change your Apple ID, follow these steps:

Ok so I happened to figure it out while on the phone to apple support. Even though the guy was very nice, I think I knew more than him! He was explaining very basic resolution principles I played about. I had the second option in displays resolution. All I did was unplug the HDMI cable, click on 'best for display' then plugged the HDMI in and my resolution on the normal monitor changed to the normal blue, then went black momentarily and then changed to a strange resolution but another window appeared that said SONY BRAVIA HDMI at the top! Hey presto! Don't know why it didn't do it yesterday - I probably left the HDMI cable in or something! Oh well. Problem solved!

I changed my apple id password and now cannot use facetime and my icloud continues to prompt me for my password and I continue to give it but, I repeatedly am prompted for the password unless I cancel the icloud. I have tried changing my password back to the password I had before and this did not work. The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.
