Laptop turns on and then off within seconds

Here is my problem.. My laptop, which is only 1 yr 3 mos old, will not cut on. I shut the lid and when I went to open it agian, it would not resume.. So I had to manual shut it down.. When I attempted to cut it on again, it will not come on.. The light will flash on and back off.

It is possible that it could be a bad RAM stick.
Try this: Take out one of your RAM  sticks, reboot your computer.  If it starts properly, then the RAM that was taken out was the culprit.  If when you reboot you have the same problem, switch RAM sticks and try the same thing with the other RAM stick and see if that works.
If the problem is your RAM, this will tell you which one is bad.
Let us know how it goes.

    Try:

    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • T61 Fan Turns On And Then Off Right Away

When I try to boot my T61 the lights blink, the fan turns on and then after a 1 or 2 seconds the fan turns off and the laptop does not boot up. Nothing comes up on the screen, no beeps as well. I tried to boot the laptop without the hard drive and cd drive but still got the same problem. I also tried booting it up without the RAM (suggested by someone on a different forum) but on trying to do so I would get many beeps.
I started getting this problem today after my laptop froze on me while I was working so I did a hard reboot on it. It wouldn't reboot after that. I had changed my LCD screen and CPU fan around 2 months ago and the laptop was working perfect since the replacement.
Any help on this issue will be highly appreciated.

  • Laptop Turns on briefly then off.

I do not know if I hit Fn+F12 and now my laptop turns on momentarily , goes to the Home screen for
a second then goes into sleep or hibernation mode.I cannot seem to find any forum post on how to solve the issue.
The "Device Access" light blinks and I am thinking that I must have hit Fn+F12 beacuse that is the the
same symbol along with a COmputer Screen icon that is on the key for that function. It is frustrating to see
my laptop beginin to start then go to the home page and then back to sleep. It is still on because I can see
the green battery symbol on. Any Help would be great.

  • My iPod touch, 4th generation, keeps having problems with the backlight? It keeps turning on, and then off.

The backlight keeps having problems. Like, it will turn off and not come back on. I have tried all solutions. But the weird part is that when I kill the battery, like when I let the charge die, and then I try to recharge it, the backlight will then come back on for a little while, but then the light goes back out. Is there any way I can get this fixed or something? Without having to go and buy a new iPod or such. Because my warranty is out. It just went out like not even a whole month ago. But I have tried resetting it, restoring it, turning it off then back on, etc. And the only thing that seems to work is when I let the charge run out, but even then it only works for a short amout of time.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..

  • Cannot enable aero after turning on (and then off) battery stretch

I have a T520 running Win7 x64. I turned on battery stretch in the power manager the other day, and after turning it off I cannot enable aero again.
I've selected an aero theme, but windows does not turn on aero.
A screenshot of my desktop settings is here - as shown I have a aero theme selected but both appearance and  properties tell me aero is disabled.
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/440/aerok.png/
I'm seeing a lot of advice on how to disable it but unsure which to follow. As this problem seems to have ben caused by the power manager I was wondering if any others had experienced this and could advise on how to fix it.

I just tried to enable and disable it and it appears it is not reproducible.
I suspect it somehow got confounded by the fact I have a few monitor configurations I use:
    1. Work - displayport to U3011 WQXGA and d-sub to a samsung UXGA
    2. Home - displayport to adapter to WFP3007 and laptop lcd as secondary screen
    3. Road - laptop lcd
I quite often change the order in which I power/suspend/resume and plug/unplug the various monitors and windows (somewhat understandably) throws a hissy fit from time to time. So I guess this was just another case of that

  • Hi can anyone help with a mac that had magnet put on it. I turned it on and then off but a white screen appears with a file with a question mark on it?

Hi can anyone help with a mac that had magnet put on it. I turned it on and then off but a white screen appears with a file with a question mark on it?

File icon with ? mark on it means it can't read from the hard drive. The hard drive is now wiped or bad. If just wiped then you will need to reinstall your operating system, OS X. If bad you will need to replace the drive.
Start with booting the computer from the OS X install DVD that came with your system. If the Mac came with Lion Pre-Installed then you use the Lion internet recovery system to reinstall (Hold down Command+r keys or Command+Option+r keys to boot the computer from over the internet to the Lion recovery HD system).
    Good Luck.

    1. Reset iPad
    2. Try another wall socket
    3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
    4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
    5. Clean Lightning port with compress air or new paint brush

  • IPad will not allow me to comment in Facebook and sometimes turns it black and then off.

Lately I've tried to comment on messages and it blinks and won't allow it, or it turns black and then shuts off.  I can get back on but maybe only allowed to post one comment before it starts again. Do I have a bug?

Facebook has the bug. They changed something with their coding and now Facebook doesn't play nice with mobile browsers. all you can do until htey fix it is to not use Facebook on your mobile or find a third party app to use facebook. I have one called Facely HD and it seems to work but you can find others that work for you either as a permanent solution or to get you by until they fix it.

Try Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
If that doesn't help, try Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
If neither helped, boot from your install disc, run Disk Utillity. The startup disk may need repairing.
Using Disk Utility to verify or repair disks
Check the S.M.A.R.T. status at the bottom of the Disk Utility window.

  • Its out of battery and when i plug it in to charge it will charge until it turns on, and then just stops charging?

its out of battery and when i plug it in to charge it will charge until it turns on, and then just stops charging?

Try a resetting of your phone just to cover that base - Hold down Home and Sleep buttons for at least 10 seconds and see if the phone powers up.
If the phone was completely dead, powering through wall socket is best approach.   I've never been able to charge off of a PC if it was completely dead.
If all fails, bring the phone in for service since it is still covered by warranty.
